Clean and welcoming with a large workout area. The Thirty Minute Circuit is accessible and the red/green light worked well for keeping me on track. After the workout, a shower. There is no specific changing stall for the showers which is a bummer. The shower was small but plenty of hot water. A small shelf inside for balancing my stuff and then back out into the common area to dry off. I'm sure none of you are interested in seeing my pasty frame wearing nothing at all and I'm definitely not interested in see y'all. Changing stalls would be a nice add. This is a pretty good planet fitness, plenty of parking and plenty of equipment to use. It's a little smaller than some other ones. I've been to, but, it's certainly not bad at all. Sometimes the staff seem in different to there being customers in there, but sometimes they're all about it. read more

While this gym is small, it doesn't get packed like other locations. I mainly stick to cardio, but nobody is standing around looking for a weight machine or bench to use. Travel to and from is awful because I'm usually heading in one direction during Eastchester rush hour, but that's not the gym's fault! Staff is always nice and greets you! read more

I came here as the guest of someone. Some of the things that I like about it are that they are open 24 hours, they had plenty of open machines even at a busy time, and their "no judgement" motto is appealing. They seemed much smaller than other Planet Fitness locations I've been in. My main concern was that when I talked to a representative about membership, the options were more expensive than their advertised low rates. There are annual and joiner fees, which isn't ideal. It doesn't look like they have classes, though the do seem to have open training sessions. I came in wanting to join, but now I'm not so sure. I signed up for myself and my three kids (two adult and a teen) for the black card membership. That would be $100 a month. We went the day we signed up just to use the shower. Immediately upon arrival, my son and I went to shower. Before we could even get ready to shower, Mike W came rushing into the bathroom. He yelled at my son that he couldn't be in there and to leave. We were both extremely confused. Mike said "you can't be in here, come on girl." My son told Mike he was a boy and Mike continued to tell him to come on. I spoke up and said that he was a boy. Mike then left the bathroom muttering to himself. I am very hearing impaired but even I could hear him saying "yeah okay whatever." I immediately took my entire family to the front counter to cancel our memberships. There was definitely a better way to handle this situation than to yell at a 13 year old boy and embarrass him in front of a room full of people. My son no longer felt safe there. read more

LIMIT THE TIME KIDS CAN WORKOUT The kids from the summer pass have taken over the gym at night making it increasingly difficult to use certain machines. I waited 2+ hours for a smith machine to be available and by the time one become free, I had given up on finishing my workout because it was midnight. Additionally, don't appreciate the chaos in the parking lot that the kids have caused. They play basketball in between the cars and in between the lanes. This is going to get someone injured or someone's property broken. Love this location when Jury was the assistant manager and Jaren was manager. I am very saddened this was my favorite place to hang out after work and on my days off 2yrs ago. After COVID hit it's been hard getting back into the swing of things. My husband and I decided to start going back to the gym this year 2022. We usually go to the one by the house but today we wanted to switch it up. I enjoyed going to Eastchester a few years back when I worked in High Point near greensboro. The stretch room felt small and barely has room to stretch? the room planogram is all wrong. When we tanned my bed in room #6 had 8-9 bulbs out. When I took my shower the curtain was black someone had dyed their hair and stained it and left gobs of human hair in the drain. The couches in the black card area smell. I know getting a good team in places is hard now a days and the staff that you do have gets over worked. I used to enjoy coming in this location and I hope it can get back to the way it was: friendly hardworking individuals that cared about cleanliness just as much as the people. read more

I joined here about 2 months ago but I wanted to wait a while to actually experience the gym and all of its perks before I wrote my review. I joined as a Black Card member online. When I came in for the first time, Jonathan at the front desk gave me my initial tour and was very nice and helpful with any and all of my questions and concerns. All of the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful all the time. I enjoy the tanning beds, hydromassage, massage chairs, treadmill, elliptical, weights, machines and the 30 minute circuit. The stretching area is tucked away towards the back corner and has plenty of mats room to stretch, meditate or do some yoga stretching. The locker rooms are spacious and always very clean. The gym layout is very easy to navigate and has everything you need for a great workout and a fabulous relaxation experience afterwards. I look forward to coming to the gym and I really enjoy all the perks. read more

Great place to workout, unless Covid exposure is a significant concern. THE GOOD The gym is clean and has great equipment. The gym has gone to lengths to keep people distances and the ventilation is outstanding. Other than the issue mentioned below, I cannot imagine them being more proactive. While things occasionally are out of service, they do a good job of repairing and getting back online asap. The staff is intentional about greeting people when they check in and assisting any time you go to the desk for help. I have been a member for almost 10 years so it obviously has been satisfactory for me. It's really hard to beat the value. THE BAD If you are concerned about Covid exposure, you might want to pause your membership for a while or wait to join. The staff goes overboard on cleaning but upholding the mask requirement is spotty at best - at least for a few members. Wearing a mask to work out is tough while working out, but even more frustrating when you are told to keep yours pulled up while some don't have the same requirement. It is pretty clear that a few members have decided that the requirement doesn't apply to them and staff is unwilling or unable to convince them otherwise. It's a bit confusing for a health/fitness club to be so casual about what most believe is a serious concern. Overall, I think the gym is worth joining and frequenting. You won't be able to beat the amenities at this price point and most businesses seem to have people they give special consideration to. read more

There is absolutely ZERO reason to let kids work out all day for free. They take over the benches, the weights and the Smith machines, while talking and wasting time. Paying members like myself aren't able to get a flowing productive workout in. We thought this was a one time program last year for Covid, as it was a failure then too, but nope, management didn't listen to the members. Time for us to look for a new facility. I promise you anyone who go there at that time knows exactly - the review about the mask issue was talking the real talk, there are def people who get to slide. Now they do go up and down the aisle making people pull up their masks - at least most of the people. And the manager on shift 100% knows about it - but that's who we talk to?? For real?? I have been a member of Planet Fitness off and on for years. They are one of the better gyms in the area, simply based on price. There are two different types of non-binding memberships you can sign up for; One being the standard membership at $10/month, and the second being the Black Card Membership at $19.99/month. I chose the Black Card membership because you get all kinds of perks (use of any PF location, use of tanning beds, 1/2 price cooler drinks, bring a guest anytime). With the standard membership you can only work out at the location you sign up at, and only you can attend. The location on Eastchester Dr. is quite nice. It has a lot more equipment to choose from, as well as separate porticos for the 30 minute express workout, 10 minute abs, and strech (where the weighted medicine balls and matts are located). I love the new layout because it gives more privacy for each area. This location is always clean and organized. The staff is also helpful and friendly. They offer trainers, as well as classes, throughout the day to help beginners get started with their workout routine. I would love more variety, like a punching bag or pool, but for $10-$20 a month you really can't complain, AND they're open 24hrs/day. I love being able to work out any time I feel fit. I asked them to freeze my membership in the height of the pandemic, they assured me they would. Instead they continuously charged me money despite my numerous phone calls and even in person visits. I was never able to communicate with anyone regarding what was happening. I finally was able to get somewhere with someone who had no answers for me as to why they didn't freeze my account but offered to refund me for one month. They have a decent gym but EXTREMELY shady practices when it comes to your money. I understand that there isn't much option in the area but if you can avoid this place, do so. The lack of ethical management and ownership alone is worth paying more money elsewhere. read more

2 minutes ago So the staff here likes to set off the "lunk alarm" to call their associates to the front. Idk why there isn't an intercom system or walkie talkies in use but how safe is it to set off an alarm every half hour that scares people who could be holding weights over their heads? Talked to the staff and they said that's policy. Doubtful but if it is that is a dangerous and foolish policy. This is my home gym and I just wish they would update the equipment like all the other ones I visit. I had this membership for 2 years, and never took the time to cancel it. You get what you pay for, machines. The free tanning option does not apply to me, and there are no classes. My hubby cancelled our account, and they continued billing me for months. When I finally made he time to go in there, the manager was clearly not there to hear me. ****question the small print on the $10 a month deal - it's not $10 very long. There is not a lot of physical energy pouring out of here. It really is quiet and calm for the gym people that don't need motivation. Went into High Point, Nc HWY 68 location was told I had to wear a mask. I had already shown them I had a medical waiver and that HPPA laws allowed me to not disclose why. They told me I was fine. I tanned and then worked out. Then as I was getting ready to leave, a young lady approached me as I was about to leave, I told her I had spoken with management and would contact corporate. She said she didn't care about my HPPA protection or that I would contact corporate. I walk to the front as she called the police, a man came in reeking of marijuana all the front desk people smelled it. They said they didn't care. I have filed a complaint with the N.C. Attorney General's Office for deceptive practices. I have been going to Planet Fitness since 2011 and just saw they weee charging me more than expected. I reached out and spoke to Anthony about the additional charge, he said that I responded to a free month upgrade to the Black card back in May. Evidently, if you do not cancel then they begin to bill you. They have been billing me for 4-5 months (my wife does the checking) I just stumbled upon it and never used any of the benefited. I requested for it to be cancelled and a refund for those months. Anthony said he could not do that, so I will be cancelling and switching gyms. I do not like sneaky promotions, so Planet Fitness HP will be losing a very loyal customer. read more

I joined back in December when they had their $99/year special with no joining fee. It's a basic no frills gym with all the equipment and resources needed to get an effective workout and keep it interesting. There are peak times you may want to avoid - they'll give you a printout of times and traffic - but so far I've not run into any issues. There's a circuit that's almost identical to the Curves setup, treadmills, elliptical a, weight machines and a few other things I haven't explored yet. This location has the friendliest staff & has done an amazing job of following COVID regulations since re-opening in September! They consistently clean all of the equipment, have hand sanitizer pumps throughout the gym, and keep their cleaning stations fully stocked with sanitizing spray and paper towels. Wife came here to tan and bought some lotion for it, ended up not liking it and returning it she later saw them putting the bottle she had opened and used back onto the shelf to resell it, when she brought it up to the lady at the counter she just laughed and told her it would be okay (with covid going on?). I had a black card m which meant I could workout at any location, but they refused to allow me to cancel at any location. Once I was able to make it to the location I started my contract with they charged with another annual fee for this year. I couldn't close my account without clearing the balance. Charging the same fee twice should be illegal. They would not accept a letter asking to close my account because I had a "balance due". I moved almost 100 miles from my original location and they would not close my account due to adding on the SECOND annual fee for the year. I advise everyone to workout at home, or choose another gym. Two annual fees were not in my contact. The only reply I need is an explanation to how you can charge an annual fee twice. Annual means once a year. I would give no stars for planet fitness if it was possible. People inquiring beware! read more

Yes, staff is friendly and facility very clean but in this day and age when even McDonald's has WiFi, this gym has been unable or unwilling to provide this essential service due to a "technical problem" really? They say it's Spectrums fault yet, I have Spectrum at home, there are customer service reps. and technicians ready and able to fix any problems within a few hours. This problem has been going on for weeks! If you sign up at this PF, you need to be willing to use your own data if you want to listen to your own music, or media.This is unacceptable, though I paid 99.00 in December 2017, I am switching to Gold's Gym. read more

I enjoy this gym. It is well maintained, clean and inexpensive. The membership is only 10.00 a month with no contract. They do have a personal trainer that would customize a workout plan for you to help you meet your goals. The gym is open 24 hours. read more

This location is a bit smaller than other PFs I have been to. Thats the only real difference. Plenty of parking. Its usually clean.

This gym is a great gym for the casual exercise person. If you are looking to weight train, this is not your gym. They don't have even such basic equipment as a curl bench. Can't really beat it...clean, user friendly typically never to busy to do what you need to and the machines for the most part are always functional very seldom anything would be out of commsion for more than a couple days. I do the annual membership - $99 year no drafts an no anual dues. It is well worth it - don't get access to all the other clubs or taning beds. Give it a 4 - mainly becuase it is clean and they keep it up. Could mention one or two things that could be better but they' would be minor. read more

I previously was a member of Sportscenter Athletic Club in High Point. I wasn't too crazy about paying 65 bucks a month (discounted.) I decided to give PF a chance. No contract for 20 bucks a month, why not. The facility is CLEAN and the equipment is plentiful! The people are friendly and the options are endless. Being open 24 hours is a huge plus due to my unpredictable schedule, another reason I decided to terminate my contract with SC. My wife and I sign up when we moved to high point nc at the easchester location at the beginning of February,today is march 13 and I was told that I cant bring my back pack to the floor ( Have to put it in the locker), I couldn't do it since I'm a short person in order for me to use some of the equipment I need a chain that I have been using for at least 20 years in other Gyms including the planet fitness in CT.I requested my money back since I couldn't use some of the equipment.and they refuse to give me my money back, ( My wife and Y payed cash).There is no were in the contract that I cant use my own equipment at the gym. read more
