As for programs and equipment, The Club at Green Valley has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep, CXWorx, and BodyVive), they have a great lap pool (it's not Olympic sized, but it's good for getting your laps in), a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., and a weight room. They also feature a unique program for young athletes called Parisi Speed School, which is a program designed to help athletes improve athletic performance, maximize their natural abilities, develop a higher level of self-confidence, and learn to prevent injury. If you live in the Greensboro area, check out The Club at Green Valley or their other club, The Club at Oak Branch. Both locations are great.! Other amenities available are child care (for a reasonable cost), a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and complimentary towels. There are two weight rooms, two circuit sets, and two cardio areas. Additionally, there is a yoga and ab area for those who want to stretch out or do their own workouts. They also offer an array of programming, including a full offering of Les Mills classes, spin, water aerobics, and small group functional training. There is no comparable gym in Greensboro, especially since The Club has two locations. I have been a member for over 3 years and would never consider changing gyms. The level of cleanliness has also declined, especially over the last few months. If things don't improve, I will seek a new gym. I also frequent the HP and Burlington locations and find HP to be superior, but it is the least convenient from my home/job.

As a guest, I was approached in a manner that felt like a direct question of my presence--asking for my name and whether I was a member. This encounter felt like racial profiling, especially as I was the only Latino person there at the time. The lack of sensitivity from the staff was astounding. Instead of offering me a free trial day, which they advertise, they chose to question my legitimacy. The gym was virtually empty, with no employees around to assist or engage positively with patrons. To add to my discomfort, the owner had their young children running around while people were trying to work out. This was not only inappropriate but also showcased a lack of professionalism. Ultimately, my partner and I were unjustly kicked out, despite having guest privileges. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their customer service. No one should feel unwelcome or judged while trying to maintain their health and fitness. I have swam in the Bryan pool when I could not the the lines on the bottom and when I would witness a cloud dead skin churned up from the bottom of the pool. Even after showering, I would spend much of the day with an itchy back after having swam in the Bryan pool. The other issue that troubles me is the attitude of the Aquatics Staff. They are seldom supportive and they often find minor issues to complain about when there are swimmers who clearly should receive more of their attention. On one occasion I observed an autistic/homeless man who found it very relaxing to submerge himself in the hot tube. The lifeguards were so troubled by his behavior that four staff members finally physically removed him from the pool and arranged to drop him from Y membership. This could have been handled with a lot more compassion and concern.
