People here are great. Super friendly, helpful and always greeting us as well as when we leave. Technology? It's not good. TV #7 hasn't worked in over two months. Maybe longer. Supposedly this is eventually going to be addressed by corporate with new TVs. Well corporate is taking their time. Now TV#5 also has no sound, and all the TVs have a black frame around them (see pic) making them smaller than they actually are, which is a bummer. Not sure why this is so difficult (Spectrum has reportedly been there several times), but it's very frustrating to ALWAYS have issues with their TVs. read more

Head right over if you want all your motivation and will sucked right out of you instantly! If it weren't hard enough to muster the motivation to go the ugliest Planet Fitness in the state, then consider doing it daily while dodging drips of smelly yuck water that's been stagnating around the many (like eight now) leaks in this dump. Tired of driving to Clearwater at this point, so may be okay with becoming fat and sedentary. Great staff, but ya can't polish a turd. They let all the kids hit the gym free for the Summer, and now that their germy, non wiping behinds are back to school it's still nasty, just slightly less populated. I've been to numerous PF locations all over and had to quit my membership with Holiday location. They have too many "manager discretion rules". I brought my foam roller one time and a manager said you can't bring that in here another time I go use the red light treatment and they say I have to have goggles that cost money. I've never had to use them before and when I asked he said well it's not written down in the rules but our gym requires it. People don't like those pick and choose rules where you get something different depending on the person working. Also the TVs were out. I was a Black Card member for 12 or more years. The Holiday FL location consistently has broken machines and leaky roofing and AC that regularly closes sections of the gym. I had stuck with them through it all. Including people sitting on the machines in 30 min workout area, playing on their phones, while employees walk by and do nothing. This past weekend I tried to go to the regular enrollment from the Black Card (I do not use the tanning beds or massage chairs) and they said they had to charge me a NEW enrollment fee after all of these years of being a member. They charge no such enrollment fee to upgrade to Black Card, but the down grade to regular there is a charge... I wanted to think on that and went to work out. Went to work in 30 minute workout area and a group of teens horsing around, so had to leave that area, went to work out in stretching room and same teens show up with a basketball and start playing basketball regardless of the people trying to workout. Ended up cancelling my enrollment. Why should I pay for Black Card pricing, when half the time, you can not use the entire gym. This location has gone way down hill and the employees don't give a damn. read more

I've been working out at this Planet Fitness location for a few months now. I joined through trivity health that partnered with my insurance (Florida Blue) I can go to almost any gym (PF, anytime, LA fitness, YMCA. etc) with simultaneous memberships for $29 a month with no annual fee, sign up or cancellation fee. This Planet Fitness is a partcipating location so I showed them my membership (similiar to silver sneakers but I have actual health insurance) I filled out a form and was given a black card. With the exception of the treadmills, ellipticals and bicycle machines there is typically two of each type of machine on the floor. Most days the gym is easy navigate with most people using all the treadmills. The spa area there is two of everything as well (massage chair, beds, lounge chairs, four tanning beds and one full body enchancement room) most days I can get into the spa pretty quick after a workout. I have to scan my card at a computer and select which spa machine I want prior to sitting or laying down. On the gym floor the equipment works well and the machines are normally working and not broken. The gym doesn't seem dirty and most people wipe their machines down after each use. The staff can be seen walking around cleaning. They greet me when I enter and leave but don't do much else like assist members with working out. The staff has regularly changed within the couple months I've been working out here. They (the staff) aren't overbearing here I can quickly use a machine on a 30 minute circuit and go back on the main floor without getting harassed like at other PF locations. I've heard a few people clunk their weights and talk on their phone's without anything being said to them. I've had a few incidents lately that I think is worth sharing: 1. Last week an old lady walked up to a machine I just used while I was trying to clean it. I showed her how the bicep curl should be done and carried on. Later, the same lady was using a bicycle without hitting start. She then wandered around trying to figure out what the rest the gym had to offer. She was kinda frail and it concerned me. On my way out I said something to a employee & suggested she keep an eye on her & her response was "uhhh okay" then immediately turned and greeted a member swiping their card and saying Hi sweetie, have a good workout then carried on with what she was doing prior. It's like I know you don't care about anyone here as long they've paid and signed a liability form but you could at least show some compassion for this confused woman who looks like she could trip over something any second or easily hurt herself. 2. The gym has one personal trainer sometimes I see him in groups instructing people to stretch and other times I see him showing new guests around. He'll put an old lady on a bicycle and say I'll come back in a little bit and check on you. He doesn't seem very involved and will basically only show you what machines he thinks you should use. 3. The locker room has shower stalls and across from the showers are changing rooms. I was in the locker portion of the locker room looking at my phone about go back into the gym from using the restroom and out of the corner of my eye I see a white haired pale figure come near me. It's a naked wrinkly old guy with a towel around this neck bearing his goods. 4. I got up from a machine stepped 3 feet away to wet a towel and clean it and before I had even reached the paper towel station a lady sat down and started adjusting things. I wet the towel and put it on the machine and walked away. The lady yells "what's this" and then shouts "this wasn't here before." The same orange haired employee who could of cared less about the old lady wandering around aimlessly walked over and they had a good laugh and stared at me as I walked away. The employee thought the moment was so comical she went back to the front desk and told her coworkers about it. My thought was I'm not cleaning the machine for you lady and you couldn't wait a second for me to step two feet away before you sat down so I could clean it and the nasty dried out rag you're carrying around wiping everything down with isn't good enough. 5. I go to use a machine and see a small poodle laying next to an empty machine I'd like to use. The dog had no vest on and it's owner had moved on to another machine and started using it. So, now I can't use the machine I want because her dog is laying next to it. The dog's owner won't stop what's she's doing at another machine and retrieve it. Later, the same lady walks the dog on it's leash into the spa area and sat in a massage chair. 6. Potential customer tours are given regularly none are offered to try anything in the spa. Take two stars off if you want a black card to tan. Tom Terrific here with another honest business review. First the bad: Like most fitness gyms they do not change their tanning bulbs on a regular basis. I owned a successful tanning salon in Ohio. We had eight high quality beds. Tanning bulbs lose power and the ability to tan after x number of hours in use. My staff and I changed our bulbs twice a year at a cost of $1800 each time. That was 10 years ago so I imagine that cost is significantly higher now. Gym and fitness owners advertise tanning and other benefits but if the bulbs are not fresh, you're wasting your money and will not get a fast, deep tan. However, this gym does have massage chairs and hydro tables that are included in the black card package so it's not all a loss. Now for the good: Excellent customer service, friendly, smiling, helpful staff. The manager runs a tight ship. Even if there's people in line who are signing up to join, I noticed that the person behind the desk takes note of you standing there and checks you in so you don't have to wait for them to finish the membership process. I like that. Multitasking! The whole fitness area is regularly cleaned. The restrooms are sanitary and fully equipped. They have changing booths and showers. I've seen associates in there cleaning on a regular basis. All of the work out equipment functions properly and there is a ton of them, all different kinds including weights of course. There are also specialty rooms for your abs and two others for different workouts. Lots of televisions with closed captions. The disinfectant spray and paper towels are always full and ready to go. This Planet Fitness also has a cooler with various drinks. Plenty of parking outside. With the exception of the tanning bulb issue, this is a well run business. Planet Fitness in Holiday. The staff, the equipment, the cleanliness, the amenities, the operating hours, all wonderful. 100% customer service driven. the friendliness and eager to help attitude of the staff was way beyond my expectations. Always greeted with a smile, Very eager to please when signing up for a massage chair or ultraviolet session or just asking a question. The Equipment is super clean and there are no funky smell inside this health club. This includes the shower area. I would guess the pay scale of the staff is on the lower side, but you are treated like you are the most important customer they have. I don't know how the hiring manager did it, but they succeeded in putting together a wonderfully diverse open minded and non-judgmental friendly staff. i need to get out of the Fitness Rut I'm in, so after seeing a friend's commentary on their gym, I stopped into Planet Fitness, since they're 5 miles from my home. They have a lot of contemporary equipment. But they also have different areas, they have an AB concentrated area, they have a stretching concentration area, and an area that's similar to Curves. As well as all your Cardio and free weights. I like that. I went for the premium membership so $19 a month.. (and I get the aqua-massage and tanning) isn't a bad investment in my self. read more

There is a wide variety of work out equipment, it is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and at the best price for using a gym. This gym is always being cleaned, whether day or night. Particularly in light of the covid 19 virus, cleanliness is in the front of everyone's mind. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, willing to help you with any questions you may have regarding the operation of the machines. I also like that it's corporate run for the uniform policy you find at all the gyms. Any equipment requiring repair is promptly fixed. With either a black card membership ($20 monthly) or the regular membership ($10 monthly), you can't go wrong with Planet Fitness. I have the Black Card membership and think it's well worth the membership. Included in addition to unlimited 24/7 gym access is: -tanning beds (stand up) -red light vibe fitness -hydrobeds -massage chairs -guest access (I can bring one friend with me each visit) -other gym locations There's lots of fun extra perks with your membership. One is Pizza Monday, on the first Monday of each month the gym provides Pizza for their members. And also the second Tuesday of each month they have bagels in the morning. Some argue this defeats their gym visit, but I think its a nice thing they do for their members. I appreciate them providing this so it doesn't come into my house, yet if I am interested I can get a single serving for myself. Also at the front desk they have tootsie rolls for you on your way out. But the most convenient extra provided, is their hair-tie bin! This has saved me so many times when I come in with my hair down. Things like this prove Planet Fitness's customer service level. There are always plenty of machines available. Yet like all gyms in January, like all gyms it can get a little busy. There are plenty of cardio machines, rows of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes (both styles), my favorite are the two stair steppers (which not all gyms have). For weight machines there are usually at least 2 of each machine, so you're not waiting. There's a whole wall of free weights, and they added medicine balls in the past year. If you need some guidance they have a 30 minute fitness area. It guides you with a traffic light so you know when to switch machines. And in 30 minutes you can complete a full body fitness. At this location they have a specific ab room, which is great! They also host free "gym class," where it's like adult PE class. I truly appreciate their approach to guided training. I hate how some gyms push personal training nonstop, this truly makes Planet Fitness hassle free. The only thing I don't like is it's near a chinese take-out... And sometimes their employee's bring chinese into the gym. And that scent is hard to work-out to. If they would bring a smoothie bar to facility it would solve this. It would be a great addition actually... Overall you can't go wrong here. read more

Not sure if it's the people here or the workers or both, but didn't like this atmosphere. Everyone had dirty looks on their faces and would get annoyed if you were using a workout area they wanted. The workers don't even swipe the pass or greet you. The layout compared to the npr area is different almost smaller or more crowded. Seriously impressed with this location. I'm a Black Card member because I travel a fair amount and like to keep up my gym routine while out of town. This is the BEST location yet! This gym is on the smaller side but there are still plenty of machines, and I like the way the 30-min and abs sections are divided off for privacy. Everything is extremely clean. The workers are super friendly (a rare gem amongst PF, in my experience). Best of all this location is equipped with Hydromassage which is absolutely divine - I so wish one of the PFs at home had this! I visit this area approximately every 6 months and I will happily continue to work out here when I'm in the area. read more

When a friend of mine starting asking me to go to Planet Fitness with her I was skeptical. I've been a member at other gyms before and remember clearly the high-pressure environment they foster. Pressure from the sales staff to renew, upgrade, and add more to your monthly plan, pressure from the trainers to book expensive private sessions because you weren't "working out right," and pressure from the other members themselves as female members would saunter in with full makeup and curled hair and jacked men would gawk as their grunts grew louder. That environment is so not me. I would much rather run with my dogs or bike down to the beach for my daily exercise. After a few months, I finally accepted my friend's invitation. Being a "Black Card" member, my friend could allow me join her whenever she went and I figured there is no harm in trying it out. I was blown away by the atmosphere at PF. I have currently gone as a guest 3 times and not once have I been pressured by staff to enroll. The staff is friendly and sociable. The gym members are mostly there in groups and the atmosphere among them is friendly. Lots of motivating words are passed from one to another. High-fives are given after a friend achieves their goals. The equipment is clean and wonderfully maintained with plenty of cardio options including treadmills, stair machines, ellipticals, bikes, and spin bikes. The machines for weight training are in sections clearly marked for "abs, arms, legs," etc. There are areas for "express workouts" that are taught with a trainer who optimizes your workout to get maximum results in less time. The locker rooms are pristine and feature lockers, bathrooms, showers, a private scale (no more weighing yourself in front of the entire gym population! YAY!) a hair dryer, and a vanity. The best part, this gym is open 24/7 so late nights and early mornings are never a problem. Everything I've mentioned is included in a regular membership at $10 a month. If you choose to upgrade to a Black Card member you will also receive unlimited use of the tanning beds, hydro-massage beds, and unlimited guest privileges. This is, by far, the most perks for least amount of money I've seen at any gym. The only critique I have is that all of the machines connect to your phone using an i-pod cord. Being a staunch Samsung user, I find it irritating that I'm unable to utilize the charging/headphone feature of the machines because of this. The machines should be upgraded to include a usb jack. My complaint is a tiny one, as I can still plug my headphones into the machine and watch tv shows on one of the 18 screens or plug directly into my phone to listen to music. Overall, I would encourage everyone to visit Planet Fitness just to check it out. I guarantee you will return. read more

I like it here a lot. It's definitely the best PF location I've seen. It's small, but all the equipment is there. They have a stair machine which a lot of other PFs don't have. They also have a scale which is often lacking in other locations as well. It's clean, the staff is friendly, & the temperature is perfect. read more

The manager, Megan and her staff are very judgmental. I take two minute cool down brakes on the work out benches in between sets to relax my shoulder and back. I have a torn rotator cuff and scoliosis. Both her and members of her staff have accosted me and threatened to cancel my membership for taking set brakes "loner than 20 seconds". I don't take kindly to threats. I wouldn't recommend Planet Fitness to anyone. Judgement free zone my ass... read more

During my workout today I noticed the manager and another employee working on a piece of equipment and they seemed to be experiencing a bit of difficulty. I then observed the manager attempting to remove a nut using wire cutters. At that point I walked up and very politely inquired if I could be of assistance. The manager then turned and looked up at me and gave me a very nasty look. In fact, if looks could kill, I would have been dead on the floor. At that point I simply walked away in disbelief. Since this did bother me somewhat, I stopped by the front desk 3 or 4 minutes later and inquired as to why she gave me the nasty look when I was simply offering to help. To my amazement, she acted surprised and denied doing so. Wow. I can say with full confidence that never in my 55 years have I experienced anything like that from an employee of a business. Since she is the boss, I would suggest that she focuses on her interpersonal skills because my impression of Planet Fitness is not very positive right now. read more

Joined PF Holiday 2 1/2 months ago. We travel quite a bit so the black card membership was the best for us. It also allows us to use the hydromassage beds which are incredible. In just that short time we have visited six other locations (Palm Harbor, Port Richey, Savannah, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Indianapolis). None of the gyms come close to the cleanliness, friendliness and high quality equipment that the Holiday location has. It can get a little crowded at certain times of the day, but there is plenty of equipment to accommodate everyone. The person trainer is very helpful and enthusiastic and the owner/manager goes out of his way to respond to any concern (for instance about temperature of the gym) or answer any question. I can't emphasize enough how clean this gym is. Actually saw someone on their hands and knees in the restroom cleaning the corners of the floor. Love the "No gymtimidation" policy as well. read more
