It's a decent gym. It's clean and Has what you need along with a variety of classes. It does get busy after work so pay attention when you go. The equipment needs addressed. The pull down bars - handles have split so it pinches your hands. Needs fixed or replaced The bathroom is disgusting though. Dirty with an odd smell. A couple of Front desk staff doesn't understand customer service. I'd walk in and say hi but I just get a look in return. Think I bothered them while they were on their phone. I'm so glad I joined this gym. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Gabriel is an excellent trainer. I have autoimmune disease and have some injuries/limitations. He was very mindful of that and has created challenging workouts for me to do without risking further injury. The gym is spacious, and the machines/weights are clean and maintained well. I try to avoid peak hours so it's never crowded when I go there. Most importantly, you can't beat the price. I pay about $25/month for premium membership. I get access to all YouFit facilities, classes and small group training, and I can bring 1 free guest every time I go. I still have to try their group classes and will post an updated review once I've tried some. read more

Worked out as a guest. Very clean! Except, I noticed that they wanted all their equipment cleaned off and they have sprayers but no paper towels I mean nothing! This is a Saturday morning at 8:30 when I asked an employee behind the desk who wasn't "working", but working out behind the desk? Me and another client asked for paper towels and noted that there weren't anymore. He said, "oh we don't fill those on the weekend. It has to wait till Monday." He continued to work out his biceps behind the desk and smiled... like that was it. Are you kidding me? We cannot wipe down machines on the weekends if they cannot supply things to keep the equipment clean. Totally hilarious and sad at the same time. read more

The cancellation process is extremely difficult,they require you to send an email to ABC their parent company and my experience is a continuation of charges. My friends and family members have experienced the same, unless you plan on being a lifetime member, which is rare for any gym, i would seriously consider to look for other gyms. First time using a commercial gym in 32 years. I've always had access to free gyms with my previous career so I was hesitant on paying an out of pocket or upsells. This place is nothing like that! I did the tree day trial and liked it so much I signed on for a year with a basic package rate of $10/month. You can't beat it. Been a member here for about 2 years. The staff is very unpleasant. Just the limited time you say hi and bye at the front desk when you come and go you are inconveniencing the staff. They don't repair their equipment properly, I've complained about a few of their bars that have lost their grips and they just leave the bars with missing grips exposing the holes where the grips go that rip your skin and pinch you.. This is my secondary gym because it's super cheap. I am a Burn Bootcamp member and they totally have my heart, but I needed somewhere to take my teenager so we can lift some weights and get our cardio on, especially because I'm not paying boutique gym prices so my child can workout. I. Got. The. Best. Deal. In. The. Universe! So for New Years (new year, new rear!) I got the $189 special on the lime card for the entire year. I seriously pay $125/mo at my other gym. I love it so I'm going to keep paying it but an entire year for $189 with ZERO annual fee, and I'm grandfathered in with that rate. I get to bring a guest every single time and I get unlimited skin cancer if I go to one of their locations with tanning beds. I may do that for my nursing school graduation because why not?!?! Anyways, on to the gym. I've only been five times. As I said this is my secondary gym. I've done a pretty decent chest, shoulder and tricepticons day, I've done back and bi's, and I did a watered down leg day with the child after my real leg day at my gym that left me super sore. The front desk kids are helpful and nice and I've had zero issues. I recommend this gym to anyone who is cool with solo workouts and wants a great monthly or yearly rate! read more

You can't beat the price for as much as they have to offer. No matter how busy it's been at times, there are always multiple machines available for workouts. It's very clean, machines are well maintained and staff is very friendly! I signed up for a personal trainer which is about a third the price I was paying elsewhere. I'm 62 and Mindi pushes me hard but understands that I'm no spring chicken! I seem to have a love/hate relationship with youfit. Though most of them are somewhat similar, this location is probably my least favorites, for a number of reasons. The colors lime and purple for once, it's a little wacky. I know to some this may sound petty, but as minor as it may seem I'm just not a fan of the Joker theme. This location gets super busy. This can make it difficult to get a good workout in a timely manner. Someone who just wants to put in an hours work, is likely to get frustrated by this. Not to put all the blame on youfit, sure this is a good problem for them. I gotta say, I just don't get why people like to campout at a machine during a workout. To be candi, it actually pisses me off when I see somebody seating on a machine all day while playing with the damn cell phone. Youfit should come up with a rule on this and enforce it. Do your set and move on to the next exercise, why is this so hard to understand. The bathrooms constantly stink, this goes for all locations. Not sure if this has to do with that going green deal, I'm all for going green. But I just hate the smell. I'm sure there are ways around this. Overall, Youfit is just aight. To me is more about my personal preference, so don't be discouraged to try Youfit. It's an affordable option, the staff is friendly and helpful, the equipment is up to date. This is the YouFit location that I signed up with this time around, however I would rather drive to Carrollwood or all the way out to Fowler for several reasons: 1. Although this is a newer location it does not have a studio, so no group fitness classes are available here...and I like group fitness. 2. It's always packed. I don't know if it's a Westchase thing, but I've been to the other YouFit locations in Tampa at various times and can find times that are lighter than others. At this location, whether the middle of the work day or late at night it's always packed. 3. The Express Circuit area is meant for people who don't want to wait for equipment, however it's not regulated. This area works sort of like "Shapes/Curves" or similar places, where the equipment is numbered and you spend specific time on the equipment, then move on to the next, so no one has to wait. This is regulated by a red and green stoplight, however no one pays attention to it. So, you get beefnecks that should be on the other side of the gym in the equipment/free weight area sitting on the Express Circuit equipment hogging a machine and checking their cell phone in between sets. This makes me furious, because I like the idea of Express because I hate to wait and there's a sense of direction with numbering. 4. I hear the restrooms are nasty. I have an issue with public restrooms, so I try not to use them, but my hubby has been in there and he says it always smells like someone dropped a bomb. He also says no one is keeping up with them as busy as the place is. I think this location should have been built bigger, with a studio. I also think the staff should pay more attention to detail. They definitely need to regulate the rules of using equipment...especially the Express Circuit equipment. Until then I'm pretty turned off by this location which is nearest to me. read more

This review will most likely be a work in progress. This is a brand new Youfit gym, that opened on 1/28/13. I have been looking for a cheaper gym that offers me the basic machines that I like for a good everyday workout. I heard that Youfit was opening near me, so I decided to check it out. The price is incredibly reasonable, you really can't beat 10 dollars a month, and the 20 dollar membership that lets you bring a guest with you is also a fairly good deal. The gym is nice and spacious, and everything is laid out in areas. There is a nice selection of weightlifting equipment, if that is your thing. My favorite thing about this gym is the huge selection of cardio equipment. Not only do they have stationary bikes, treadmills, ski machines, and ellipticals, but they have large quantities of each machine. I don't see any chance of me having to wait in line for a treadmill. Another positive is that every cardio machine has its on television built into it, along with an ipod connector, headphone jack, and even usb jack, so that you could connect a phone or other music player to the machine, and then control it via the machine. Its a nice extra touch, and I really enjoyed watching espn while getting my cardio in. They have a nice locker room, and plenty of lockers. You are required to bring your own lock, and they do not allow you to leave it locked over night, but it was nice to be able to put everything up while I worked out. Another big positive that I liked is that they have an express circuit workout, along with your normal circuit work out machines. I know a lot of gyms either have their own circuit program, or just have a few standard machines, its nice to have a choice. About the only negative that I have seen so far is the awful color scheme. I'm not sure who picked green and purple, but seriously, its ugly. As far as customer service goes, the employees have all been helpful and friendly so far. The machines are all brand new, so at this point it is hard to tell if they will be kept in good shape or not. I've used this gym for about a year. While not the nicest gym, you get a clean gym with most of the equipment in good shape. For the price I wouldn't expect much more. In the evening, the free weights are too crowded and it makes it extremely difficult to get in a decent workout. Monday through Wednesday, I won't go here between 4 and 7 if I can avoid it. The crowds k There are plenty of weights if you can get a bench or rack to use them. The dumbbells go up to 90 lbs and most people actually put them back in the right order (a bit of an annoyance when the dumbbells are scattered around the rack. If they had more room to put in additional equipment, that would be a big improvement. A good number of the benches have cracks in the pads and the decline bench is in awful shape. The treadmills are frequently out of order but the staff seem to be good at getting them repaired quickly. This location keeps getting more crowded. Also, they started only playing only pop music and unfortunately it is too loud to drown out with headphones that aren't bulky. read more

I joined YouFit almost a year ago. I am not a gym goer at all and was very intimidated by the idea. I joined because my fiancé was and I knew I could cancel without much hassle if I didn't like it. There are no contracts, you can choose between the $10 a month or $19 a month. All depends on what you plan to use it for and how you want to workout. The $19 dollar one has a few more benefits. I decided to sign up with a trainer! OMG!!! What was I thinking I was already terrified to go into this place. I did my assessment with the manager/trainer (who is no longer at this location - thank goodness he was not the nicest person). I was shocked at where I had allowed my body to go. Seeing the measurements and scale almost broke me. It's crazy how not paying attention can lead to weight gain, fatigue, sore joints...... I was assigned a trainer and started the next week. It's not cheep but if you're like me and need the help and motivation it's 100% worth it. My trainer is AMAZING! He really listens to what I want, how I'm feeling and learned very quickly how and when to push me. I can't say enough about him. He's awesome! It took me a while to get into the groove of working out and not feeling awkward but now when I have to miss for any reason it annoys me. Back to the gym itself! It's always clean!! There is always someone vacuuming, moping, wiping down equipment and shining the windows. The staff (all staff) are so friendly and not only greet you but always wish you a great day. It's bright, inviting and the music is pretty good too. But I rather have my own play list on hand. They have towels you can buy for a good price, water, Gatorade, and other sports drinks. Lockers, showers and bathrooms are clean and sanitized. There are no gimmicks!! No foods offered! No reasons to feel intimidated and for the most part the other customers are friendly. This gym will try and scan you!! As a college student, I chose this gym because they have a location by my school and by my apartment. Walked in interested in signing up, they made me complete a "check up" from the "training coach" where they tried pressuring me into purchasing their most expensive gym membership ($30 a month) and $80 a week for private lessons. I ended up signing because I felt really pressured to do it. At my first private session I let them know I was going back to school in August and was giving them the "30 day advance notice" that was required on the contract. After the 30 days, I had finished all my sessions, yet I was still getting charge $80 every week. I called, I went to the location and tried to cancel at least 6 times before someone told me I had to sign another contract to get me out of the one I was in... Even after signing it I had to wait a couple of months for the payments to end. $80 a week is a lot of money on a college student budget and I had followed the contract guidelines. Then, knowing how they can scam, I asked for the procedure to end my membership package. I had to get to 3 different employees before they would let me sign to end my membership. I was finally free from this hell hole, but little did I know 6 months later they would threaten to sue me over $137 balance I still owe because they CONTINUED TO CHARGE ME AFTER I SIGNED MY CANCELLATION CONTRACT. I don't have money to take YouFit to court, but that's exactly what they do they find financially vulnerable people and f*** them up! I've always heard gyms were a scam because of this very reason. There is a stench of humidity and acidity in the air from 5 P.M. to about 7:30 P.M., when the facility is packed with the after-work crowd. The stench is particularly noxious in freeweight area, where hoards of men huff, puff, and sweat in close quarters with no ventilation. In the room to the left, where all the treadmills and aerobics machines are, the temperature and humidity is significantly higher due to dozens of people sweating profusely into the atmosphere. There are huge fans that blow strong wind currents back and forth in the room, but the air is old, stale, never exhausted to the outside. The stench is similar to a vinegar smell. My lifting partner innocently thought someone was eating Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips at the front desk when we walked in the door at 6 P.M. one evening. We both cringed when we realize it wasn't food we were inhaling into our noses. It was human perspiration. In my work, I'm familiar with building codes, and I know places like restaurants and gyms are required to provide pretty substantial ventilation. I did a quick search and some calculations, and here's what I found. The space at this Youfit location on Hillsborough Avenue is 12,728 Square Feet. Per the Florida Building Code, a space this size is required to provide 2540 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of fresh, outdoor air. In plain English, this means that EACH and EVERY MINUTE while the lights are on, the exhaust system must: 1) suction 2540 cubic feet of air from inside the building and blow it outside (typically through the roof) AND 2) replace that lost air with approximately 2540 cubic feet of fresh, outside air that is sucked into the building from a location sufficiently far away from the point of exhaust. Based on the recent level of humidity, acidity, and other contaminants in the air, it is highly doubtful that the current system is exhausting any substantial amount or air. If the exhaust system is working at all, it is certainly not suctioning anywhere close to the 2540 CFM it is required to exhaust. 2540 CFM is 72 Cubic Meters. A 40 foot container that you see on those huge 18 wheelers is about 68 cubic meters. To put another way, if this facility is sucking out a shipping container's worth of air each and every minute, I would not be smelling people's vinaigretty hair from 50 feet away while I'm standing at the front desk. Rommel called me yesterday. He was very polite and respectful, and I have nothing negative to say about him as a person. Rommel told me that there was no problem, that everything checked out fine "last week on the 12th when we had our regular maintenance." I asked, but what if someone or something flipped the breaker on the exhaust system on the 13th? He didn't have an answer for that, other than to repeat that everything was fine on the 12th. Not satisfied with Rommel's satisfaction that there was nothing wrong, I immediately filed a complaint with Hillsborough County Code Enforcement. Code Enforcement called me this morning, and told me they would inspect the facility in 3 to 5 business days. I will update this review on the results of the Code Enforcement Inspection after it occurs. As an aside, I'm pretty sure that when Rommel said everything was fine according to a maintenance log, he was referring to a maintenance contract where an AC guy comes on a monthly basis to change filters and check Freon levels on the air conditioning units. These guys don't check the exhaust system, which is entirely different. An exhaust system is like the vent that blows hot air and lint from your dryer out to the side of your house. AC guys don't check those. read more

Located in the Lowes/Publix shopping center this place is basically open 24 hours (minus the wee hours of the morning) and offers a clean, brand new facility. They are all very small, the bold purple & green colors totally give you sensory overload. I don ' see many people that are happy to be here, even the staff. Overall I find it a bit overbearing & claustrophobic for my idea of a pleasant work out. It is convenient, so I go. Loving this new Youfit! It's smack dab between my apartment and office, so I have zero excuses NOT to go. Everything is brand new and I like that the cardio equipment have tvs' attached (I need distractions, folks). Can't really complain about a brand new gym next to my favorite Publix for $10/month. This gym truly sucks. Compensation for paid unused months during COVID is a free work out with one of their out of shape trainers. I've gone to this gym long enough to know I wouldn't book a session with any of them. Hit you with an annual fee with zero notification. This gym can't even afford the pull down wipes.
