I absolutely love the Kelso WA Planet Fitness. The staff welcomes me by name and no matter what time I go, the staff is always friendly and polite. In addition, they are always wiping the equipment and cleaning the work out area. I like that. The place is very clean. They even dust up high in the ceiling. I recommend this place to my friends. I recommend the black membership. For the price and the hours they are open you can't beat it. You can shower after your workout and be on your way. I give it two thumbs up. read more

Your daytime front end staff especially (WENDY) does not understand what customer service is AT ALL. have never had someone talk to me with so much disrespect and then act like it was ok. Was out in Wa a few months ago as there are no 24 Hour Fitness near the area. The men's restroom is very clean. Cost 10 dollars for a 24 period. Even though it very purple in there i did my workout. Its a level 1 type gym. read more

Aloha. Signed up here a few months back and it's been great. Haven't had any payment issues or anybody being rude at all. In fact.... Misty is fantastic. The other girl that usually works with her (blonde) is fantastic. They check me and my wife in before we even get to the counter... great service. Wife and i haven't been to kelso planet fitness for about two years now. And just recently their employees started going were my wife works and causing trouble. Every time they go in there they walk around glaring at my wife and then they report it to my wife boss say she's glaring back at them. Grow up and be an adult and stop acting like a child. Sad to see so many low stars due to payment issues . Finding this SPECIFIC gym has truly been life changing for me . I'm originally from Arizona and tried many gyms out there between Red Mountain and Orange Thoery in Phoenix Arizona but non have made me feel as comfortable as this one . It started with when I first walked in a year ago , when Kara signed me up she was so polite and made me feel really comfortable to start . I made an appointment with their fitness coach Nicole and from there my weight loss journey began . I am now officially 60 pounds down and have found the best way for me to lose weight and I couldn't have done it without this location . Their front staff is also absolutely amazing ! I do not see Kara anymore (I hear she works the morning shift) but Brandi checks me in everyday at 4pm. So nice to see the same friendly faces , and they have me down by name now . Makes it feel super personable . Recently visited another Planet Fitness location and was not as impressed by the front staff or the set up. So thankful to have this hidden gem in my small town ! Pro - it's a nice facility. Gym equipment is up to date and they have a lot of it. Staff is sometimes friendly and somewhat helpful. Cons - Make sure you go at the right time, it can get packed. For a gym that prides themselves in the "workout anytime" mentality - opening at 5am on Mondays really doesn't fit the bill. I'm not sure about the cleanliness of the facility. Doing ab workouts I did notice hair all over the floor, dirt on my sweatshirt after getting up. Although, I have seen them clean the floors and machines before, but they used so much cleaner on the machines and do not dry that I ended up slipping off the machine and had a serious bruise on my knee cap that ended up being sore for 3 days. Additionally, no fault to PF (did not take this into consideration for the rating) but there are some real creepers in that gym. Being a young women this really impacted my decision to change gyms. (Again, did not take this into consideration for rating) For it being a "judgement free zone" the judgement is towards fit people, per the previous review on woman wearing sports bras and I feel it every time I'm in there. The staff really isn't that knowledgeable, as I had to walk two staff members on how to upgrade my account because the first 3 ways they tired did not work. You get what you pay for. I would recommend for people just starting at the gym. But thankfully I'll be moving soon and changing gyms. read more

They REFUSED to let me read the contract before signing up and then bullied me about requesting to see it before signing. Denison, Misty, and the manager Andrew should find jobs that don't involve customer service because they lack the skill. Refusal to allow a customer to read a contract before demanding a signature is actually illegal. Makes me wonder what they're trying to hide. THIS GYM IS A SCAM!!! Found another gym that was way cheaper anyways, so I guess it all worked out. In case you're looking for a new gym...Forever Fit is only like $99 for 5 years. No additional hidden fees, no attaching your checking account to screw you over later, and no annual fees. Oh...and you can grunt if you feel like it. Started my initial sign up fee for a dollar that it said I wouldn't have my normal charge until like a month and a half later nope 2 weeks later it charged me the full price nobody there can answer any of my questions then I just tried to go in and use it been super busy haven't been able to get in I go to show up on a Friday and they're closed what happened to 24 hours and the weekends Friday Sunday I mean those are types of people want to get in there or way early in the middle of the night I'm just not so sure that this is something I'm going to keep and I really wanted the massage beds read more

Post Covid there have been some excellent changes since the review I left last and I thought it was only fair I update the review. The evening staff member(s) with the attitude issues are gone (as far as I can see) and in their place, the evening/late night early morning staff are excellent. The only challenge for a member now is the less than 24 hours of availability re-structuring. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the new reality of a Covid world or if it is simply the economic bottom-line and management not wanting to staff for those weekend hours. Regardless... The equipment is in excellent shape and well taken care of and the new cutting edge equipment is fascinating and worth exploring. It is nice to have this club open again. read more

I had a terrible experience. I was paying for a membership for my son. He wasn't using it, so I called to cancel it. They said they couldn't cancel it over the phone. He would have to come in and sign documents to cancel it. I am 51 years old and have had multiple memberships at various gyms. All of them let me cancel over the phone. So my son went in and signed their paperwork, then they told him they were going to charge us for the next month anyways. The billing date was 10/17. My son cancelled 10/15, two days before. What a joke. If you want to join a club that is hostile to you, its member, then this is the perfect club for you. read more

Terrible experience. For what is supposed to be a "judgment free" safe zone it is mind blowing that they will turn you away for trying to better yourself. What kind of gym does let you bring in things (such as pt bands) to complete tasks given to you by your physical therapist? I'll give you a hint pf. This was unbelievable how I was treated at your establishment this morning. I was coming in real quick to tan before I had to attend a meeting at work and was told I could not enter until I brought my bank info in, EVEN though I have already been paid up until October 16th.It didnt surprise me that Missy (gray hair lady) that works in the morning is always rude whenever I have been in. was extremely rude that morning telling me I coud not enter that morning. first I signed up through there website it's was super normal and like understandable, but then after they charged me and my family so I thought it was fine I checked in but they said my bank didn't work cause it wasn't an actual bank yet my family was using the same system and it was fine with them, second thing was I needed another parent signature even though the website said nothing like that so my parent would've had to drive all the way over just to sign a part they signed online. read more

A health and fitness center designed around not setting goals and achieving them, instead focused on making you feel so little commitment that uou go for a week, quit going and continue to pay memberships with no intention of ever bettering yourself. Judgement free unless your in shape, no judgment on form, or proper training, openly allowing clothing of any kind ... unless of course your in shape and proudly showing it. Big belly Bertha and wife beater wayne can rock Pj's and a tube top but god forbid someone wear "spaghetti string muscle tees". No gallon jugs of life giving water, but free pizza to keep that depression rolling. Hard to make significant healthy lifestyle changes when every step towards it is fraught with temptation. Great looking gym, wanted a tour mostly to confirm prices but the lady was very unfriendly. She was speaking to us like we were mentally slow and never seen a gym before. She didn't bother to ask what my needs or wants of a gym were, and proceeded to show me how to use a treadmill. I will probably spend $15 extra dollars and buy a membership elsewhere now. UPDATE; I decided I had to get a PF membership because of the hours of operations. Good news, the lady I had a negative experience with has been no where to be found. Everyone else I've encountered is pretty friendly a few are even trying to memorize my name as well as my husbands. Overall, it's a good gym. read more

Terrible gym! I felt like I was in a sterile library no one appeared to be enjoying the gym or actually be working out. I noticed candy on the counter as you walked in the door. I felt they have too many rules, regulations and JUDGEMENT...first thing the guy said was "we don't cater to body builders" my thought was isn't everyone in the gym there to build a better body!? He showed us the gym really fast and was more interested in selling us the spa services they offer than actually showing us the gym! It felt uncomfortable and rushed! My fiance and I have been going to Planet Fitness since January 2015. It's such a nice alternative to main stream gyms in town and the price is right. I've maintained a white card membership at the $10/month level while my fiance has the $20/month black card. She takes full advantage of tanning after a good workout. The gym has plenty of machines, treadmills, arc trainers and ellipticals to accommodate quite a few people. After a quick warm up on a treadmill I'm off to the free weights. A good selection of fixed vs adjustable workout benches and a wide variety of free weights up to about 75lbs I think. Way more than I need right now as I'm not a body builder, just a guy trying to stay in shape. I like that the gym doesn't necessarily cater to body builders. It truly does promote a no gymtimidation environment, and I suspect some of the negative comments below are a result of those folks that like to drop weights and grunt over excessively being talked to. They must really take it seriously. This just isn't the place for them even though I'm sure the low price makes it very attractive. At first I was put off by the pizza and bagel idea. But seriously? If we are working hard and staying on track, a slice of pizza as a treat once a month isn't going to undo all of it. Besides, it's nice maybe to not have to cook supper that night. I haven't been lucky enough to take advantage of it very often but I know folks look down on it. They also offer buckets of tootsie rolls at the front desk, I've never had one. It's a choice. The black card members get to use the hydro massage, massage chairs, and tanning beds. I don't miss any of those as I'm a very pale white guy that can't tan. I'm okay at the white card level. But my fiance loves being able to tan as much as she wants. One tip I can offer though is that they keep track of the last time you used a bed and you need to wait a full 24 hours before you can tan again. I think the place is always very clean, lockers rooms/showers smell good and seem very clean, paper towels are always full. Just remember to bring your own towel if you choose to shower. They do offer shower gel on the wall in the shower for you. Highly recommend it for those folks that either casually workout or aren't serious body builders. Kids 13 and over can workout here. And one guest can join you free of charge if you're a black card member, as often as you want. read more

To start, I had a PF membership for all of 2014. Fast Forward to 2016... I signed up for the $10 monthly membership, online. I signed up the morning of 6/22/16. That afternoon, my boyfriend and I went to Planet fitness. One, for me to get my scan card and two, for my boyfriend to sign up in person. We arrived and contacted Samantha. She needs to work on customer service. Instead of greeting us, she just looked at us. I told her I had already signed up and my boyfriend needed to sign up as well. She starts getting his information. She then asks me to stand in front of her computer so she can take my photo. I said, "No, thank you." She replied by saying I need to have my photo taken. When I asked her why she needed to take my photo, she said so employees know who you are. I told her that she or other employees can ID me when I come in. I have to give them my scan card anyway, so what's the big deal if they have to take the extra second to look at my ID. Now, I'm not making a fuss over a photo because I hate my photo taken. I'm making a fuss because when they scan your scan card your photo, along with your info, pops up on a computer which can be seen if you are standing at the front desk. My boyfriend and I are both Law Enforcement. If a customer comes in behind us, that we arrested or had a negative contact with while working, then they will be able to see our info. INCLUDING OUR HOME ADDRESS! SCARY! Which is a HUGE safety risk for both of us. We don't want to take that chance. I asked Samantha if there was a part of the contract that stated I need to have my photo taken. She said yes. She also said it was a store policy. I told her I want to see where it says this. Samantha then contacted Kayla, another employee. She told Kayla we wanted to see where it says on the contract that we need to have our photo taken. Kayla grabbed two laminated pieces of paper and handed it to us. I asked Kayla if it says in the contract that I am required to have my photo taken, Kayla replied, "Yes, I think so." My boyfriend and I read the contract word for word and were unable to locate where it supposedly says we are required to have our photo taken. We told Kayla it didn't mention anything about photos. She then said the contract she handed us was all she had but it's a store policy. This is when I asked her to find it in writing. I told her I was frustrated because I had already paid, signed an agreement, and no part of it required me to have my photo taken. She continued to say I had to have my photo taken in order to work out. So I asked her if she was denying me access to the gym, even though I had already signed up and paid for the membership. She replied, "Yes, I'm denying you." I was shocked. Her and Samantha were demanding I do something but were unable to show me where is said it in the contract. I told her if she was denying me access then I should get my money back. She said she couldn't do that, and would have to get permission from her manager... Who wasn't working. My boyfriend at this point was half way through signing up. He said well if you are denying us then cancel our membership. We aren't willing to risk our safety for a cheap gym membership. Right before we left I looked at both Kayla and Samantha and told them they had been equally as rude and thanked them for nothing. So, to sum up... They took my money... They tried to force me to do something I wasn't comfortable with... Then they couldn't show me where it was in the contract or store policy that I have to do this.... Then they deny me access to the gym... And remember, I had already been a customer... So yeah. Great service. I contacted there customer service department and left a VM. I will update this review once I get contacted by the manager and speak with the customer service department. ****UPDATE**** The manager Misty, called this morning and explained the part of the contract that states they can request verbally or written a new policy or change to the contract. Please, do not quote me on that. She was very helpful and explained everything. I went into detail about safety concerns. She was polite and informed me the only thing that pops up when I sign in is my photo, my DOB, last time I was in, and my type of membership. The boyfriend and I will be back in tonight to sign back up. A hassle yes but the manager said she would make sure the employees that we spoke with last night are aware of the contract. Its a brand new gym, at the Three Rivers Mall in Kelso which definitely needed some new businesses. It has plenty of parking and the equipment is all new, so no mechanical issues so far. The Good: -Lots of machines, even when it is very busy, there is plenty of machines to choose from. -Lots of TV's, so that you can pass the time quicker when exercising. -Gym is very clean and the locker rooms are also very clean. -Plenty of staff around. -Very convenient location. The Bad: -Their sign says 24/5.... that's I guess supposed to mean they are open 24 hours a day on 5 days a week. I went last Friday night a little late and found that they interpret that sign as they are open from Monday 5:00 AM to Friday 9:00 PM. To me that's actually 24 hours a day, 4 days a week, they are closed Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. A little false advertising? -They also only have 2 computers, so if they are busy, it takes you longer to check in then to get on an exercise machine. So along with the addition of a new store, a new gym and a new theater, our local mall is better for it, and so far I enjoy my workouts there. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would it's an absolute joke! I came into town to tan the bed turned off two minutes after I got undressed and ready to tan and said it's in a cool down process so I called the front desk to tell them that my bed turned off and can they turn it back on she said no they could not do that and I would not be able to tan today because each person can only tan one time a day I said I understand that but I didn't get to tan because my bed turned off and she said come back later tonight there's other people waiting to tan and I'm like yes I know that I was just one of them I waited 10 minutes to tan and now the bed turned off and I can't tan because it's a automatic cool down wouldn't you think that they would have that done when the store was closed not in the middle of somebody's tanning session! So I drove all the way from my house got undressed to tan for two minutes only to be told I can't come back later in town because I already had my session for the day! Unreal!
