Hopping on here to show some love to this Planet Fitness location. Located in Lakeside in the same plaza as Walmart, Molly's Spirits, Petco, Popeye's, etc. WHAT MORE CAN A FELLA YOU ASK FOR?! I recently moved and this has become my new, go to Planet Fitness. At first it took awhile to get used to the layout, but I actually prefer this one to the other location I used to frequent. As usual, they have lockers, bathrooms, water fountains, different workout areas, etc. Basically all the standard characteristics you're looking for in a gym. For the overall cleanliness and efficiency from the staff, I say 4 stars fits the bill. I saw way too many reviews complaining about things that the gym has zero control over. Don't like workout culture and the people who frequent gyms? You should probably stay at home. I've been getting back into a strong workout routine to start the year, and I'm pleased with the overall execution of this location. Sometimes there are a few popular machines that are down for a couple of days, but generally you're in good hands. And for the price you're paying, it's difficult to complain! read more

Got scammed out of 25$. went to gym first 3 days no problem, day four some kid with an attitude said if i dont get my picture taken id have to leave, i offered to provide my id he wanted a picture of it. i said no he said if i dont leave he was going to call the cops. i asked for a refund he said he couldnt give me one. there is no corporate office and no manager to speak to with any business sense, if they dont like you they will just get rid of you. Not a judgement free zone at all. disputing the charges and ill never be back to another planet fitness, not that they care. read more

The facility is nice, but the primary reason I go here is for the fitness circuit training. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't monitor this area as posted and patrons seem to sit on the machines until they do all their sets and refuse to let you work in and do your set while they are resting. I have complained several times and the staff does nothing. When you look across the gym there are at least 10 patrons just sitting on the equipment. I would give NO STARS but the app won't let me. read more

Bunch of racists! I was driving through town and I decided to use this club since I have a black membership. They did whatever they could to not let me in. When I tried to prove that it's me with ID, they kicked me out because they "didn't like my attitude." Save your money and go somewhere where they treat you like a person, not like you're lower than they are simply because you're a couple shades darker than they are. read more

This is a nice gym facility with plenty of parking, plenty of cardio machines, plenty of weight machines and options for a 30min Express Workout and a 12min Abs Circuit. The Black Card option to bring a guest is a really great feature of the membership, which we use often. The app has recently gone through some changes that make this a bit more challenging. And, when we run into this problem, there often isn't someone behind the counter to assist. So, we just give up and roam into the gym. I tend to be here between 6am and 8am on Weekdays. The experience may be different at other times. I have never had to wait for a cardio machine to be available and can easily hop in to the 30min Express. Unfortunately, people working out here don't respect that the 30min Express area is for those actually doing that rotation workout. Even though all the machines there are available elsewhere in the gym, people will come in and sit on a machine, camp out with all their stuff along the window sill or around a machine, perform multiple sets and check their phones for prolonged periods. Even though there are signs all over the area stating that proper use of the 30min workout will be enforced, I have never once seen an employee come by to remind the "machine campers" that they need to leave and use machines elsewhere in the gym. read more

I hate that this is the gym that's closest to me. The employees here barely work. They constantly hang out behind the counter and play around with eachother instead of focusing on the customer experience. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I'm constantly watching them messing around behind the counter hanging all over one another. The bathrooms are atrocious. I see poop stains from days ago still in the same ONE stall that's available. Although there are 2 stalls in the men's locker room, only one is ever operational. Specifically the handicapped stall is the one that seems to be down most of the time. The hand washing area is always out of paper towels and the countertops are always flooded with water, supplement powder and toiletry reside. Whoever the owner of this location is, I'd love for you to walk in during peak hours (4:30pm) and watch your beloved staff fail the public. I hope my concerns are heard and things change for this establishment. Take it for what it is. An overcrowded space to workout in. Don't expect much more. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I went in for one day to try out the gym and stayed for a few hours. Wasn't able to use the gym or enjoy it much as it's simply not for me. That's when I noticed the scam. It's not the price they say it is, expect to be charged at least 4x what they say the price is. And to make matters worse, there is never anyone on staff that knows what they're doing. Want to file a complaint? "Sorry I can't help you." Want to change your membership? "It says here you have a fee, I can help you if you pay." Want to cancel a membership? "It's about $100 to cancel." Buy some weights. I went to this gym for 2 weeks every morning me and my wife go to the gym to showers and get ready for the day along with sleeping outside of the gym I go in and use the bathroom every morning idk who the knew people were today but the black guy told me I needed my wife to be there bc she has the scanner barcode on her phone so as it is raining and all I need to do is lee I go back to the car grab my sleeping wife's phone went back in scanned in with a white lady that stops me after I scan Both mine and my wife's membership (black car ) She says she needs my is so I can go in I'm standing the twitching bc j in have to pee as she tells me she needs my id then the black dude says I need my wife to be there I say sir I pay for this membership I come in here everyday can I just use the restroom since I pay for my MEMBERSHIP no ok so if you are looking for a normal day don't come here after using the restroom the black guy meets me outside the bathroom to try to physically intimidate me then after finding out that im not the one he told me to come out side and he would pop me (shoot) so guys just save your self an bad day and go somewhere else read more

Not sure what year Planet Fitness is living in- but they require a hand written letter to cancel with them if you are unable to make it in person to do so (I moved hours away into the mountains). Spoke with someone over the phone that assured me it was cancelled and now months later after being charged the whole time I'm told I won't get reimbursed for anything and will be charged until they receive the letter. Mind you- they also charged me for several months during quarantine. Ultimately you're better off at a legit gym with real life humans operating it and not some corporate bs. read more

Members are unable to cancel memberships over the phone or email and must cancel either by certified mail or their "home" location. What a racket! Visited Planet Fitness today for the first time since they re-opened. I was shocked to see that there were several people in the gym not wearing face masks within clear sight of the front desk employees. This Planet Fitness is not enforcing the mandatory mask order that Colorado is now under. When I mentioned this to the employees at the front desk, they were not concerned and told me that the go around every half hour or so to ask people to wear their mask. Definitely will not be returning to this gym until they get their act together, and am considering reporting them to Co State Health Department. read more

The new guy Brian is AMAZING!!!! I'm a bartender, so I go to the gym after I get home from work, usually between 2-4am. I'm very particular when it comes to the machines I use in the black card amenities area (ie: tanning, massage, etc.), as I know which ones work the best. Unfortunately, due to the scheduling system PF uses, 90% of the time the overnight employee has to manually override the system to schedule me for the particular machine I want. Usually the new employees don't know how to do this for me, & I end up stuck w/the crappy machine. So naturally when I see there's a new employee I'm bummed, but I was both shocked & delighted that Brian being brand new was able to do it for me, easy peasy! Brian has a great frickin attitude, greats you with a smile & is happy to help! This is hard to find at these hours, cause they're exhausted & have a ton of deep cleaning & other duties to do that can't be done during the day, (when there's always multiple employees working) & only one person to do it all! Brian is definitely a wonderful choice to join the PF team! I hope y'all treat him right, so he stays indefinitely!! read more

It's fine I guess. The employees are nice. I find it irritating that there aren't any squat racks. It's a pretty significant piece of equipment for a gym to be lacking. The free weight area is also super tiny compared to the size of the gym. It's pretty clear that the business model is designed to deter people who will regularly show up to work out. read more

Hate that this is the closest location to me but I come here solely for that reason, it's close! The people who work here are real rude and unaccommodating! Ask them for a massage chair while they're listening to their headphones or reading while on the clock and they act like you just ruined their whole day! I don't even bother saying hello or goodbye anymore when arriving and leaving, there's no point! The people that clean the place late at night on the other hand do their jobs very well as the gym is usually immaculate and are very courteous and sweet, you can thank them for one of these stars! read more

Not sure why all the hate about the employees here, the staff at this PF is amazing. I've been a member for almost a year, and they are friendly and helpful, have learned my name and even wished me Happy Birthday. Shoutout to Vinny! And everyone who works the evening shift :) This place is also super new and very clean. Yes, it's PF so there is no real squat rack or bench for pressing. But it's $10 a month for 24/7 access! Pro tip: Monday evening is mayhem here - make that your rest day if possible! read more

good looking gym. trash management. night time front desk guy kept trying to flirt with me. when i declined he decided to kick me out of the gym. tries to cover it up by saying that the reason he kicked me out was because i didn't use my barcode. when it was clear that i did, if they would have checked the camera footage like i asked. also my planet fitness app has the check in at the location. i checked in, declined his advance and as i was getting on the treadmill he decided to kick me out because i had an "attitude" which is not his job to interact with the customers in such a way. i do not go there to socialize i go there to workout. i called told management and never herd back. gettoh employee. messy management. other planet fitnesses are way better than this. read more

Probably the best PF I have been to, which makes sense, since it's also the newest. The layout was superior, the equipment was awesome, with machines that had personal monitors for viewing TV and the free range of motion machines were a wonderful upgrade. The overhead HDTVs actually had an HD picture--something I've never seen in any of the other PF locations. I wish it was a little closer to home, but I will sneak over to this one whenever I can. read more

I have no issues with this facility. It is clean, the machines all work and the staff seems friendly enough. I wanted somewhere to go in, lift and leave and this fills that need. You only pay $10 per mo. So I am not certain what people think they should be getting for that price. I do enjoy various group classes but I am sure the $$. Would go up as they would have to pay for instructors. It meets all my needs and is close to a Walmart so I can workout and go grab groceries in one trip. read more

Facility is just fine, but the front desk guy has ruined it for me. I dread seeing him 5 days a week. Not sure of his name (don't really care to even know), but he's working m-f and leaves at 6 am. He has no personality whatsoever; he's so boring. It literally pains him to say: "Good morning." There's possibly an eye roll going on inside his head at the same time. He never says bye or "have a good day" when you leave, and yesterday took the cake for me...The music started skipping 15 minutes before my workout was complete...do you think he'd even care to try and fix it? Naw. Homeboy left it...you know how annoying it is to workout to skipping music? Go get a job as a stunt double so that no one ever has to see your rude face. I like this gym a lot! Staff is nice and place is typically clean. I go after the busiest time and it's still decently clean. Great place to do cardio as most people there are lifting weights to have massive biceps and not tending to their beer bellies. Only a few annoyances like once in awhile this random girl takes a bunch of the equipment and places it In front of the right side trash can so you awkwardly have to avoid all of her crap and her weird spidergirl cardio bullcrap that takes up the entire area. The front of house area's are well kept with no equipment out of order. Good workout. This ends when going into the locker room. Enter the "Planet Fitness Mystery Showers" at your own risk. Very hot water which turns ice cold instantly. Today a consistent ice cold. Employee told me that corporate may get it fixed, but when is anyone's guess. Is it going to take a senior citizen getting a cold blast in the shower with an ensuing heart attack to get it fixed? Get it together PF! read more

Poor customer service. Half the time I go in there's no one at the front desk. They close at 7, i came in at 6:36 and was immediately told they close in less than 20 minutes. I was then only allowed to tan for 5 minutes and was out the door with 15 minutes until they closed. read more

Buyer beware! This location ended up taking several months of payments from my bank account even after I requested my membership be canceled. After seeing the charges on my account, and bringing it up with the manager I was told that there was nothing they could do because the old manager (high turnover) never made a note on my file about my request to cancel. Joined PF about two weeks ago. So far I love being able to go workout, get a massage at 5 am then go shower and get ready for work. The facility has been clean everyday I go and the morning staff are accommodating and remember what I like to do in the Black Card Spa. LOVE the spa! So worth the extra cost. At that time in the morning there are plenty of machines, plenty of lockers and no wait on spa amenities. read more

I've been a member for about six weeks and go 4-5 times a week and have never had a bad experience. The staff seems friendly, the facility is well maintained and the equipment is also always clean and functioning. I just moved over from another (much more expensive) gym in the area and I am incredibly happy with how uncrowded Planet Fitness is and how accommodating the staff has been. read more

When you sign up at the gym, ask for Blair. She is really helpful and understanding. I had a problem with my account and Blair talked with her manager and worked it out for me really quickly. The gym is fine, but their contractual process is either egregiously incompetent or nefariously fraudulent. When you sign up, you agree to a contract, and their system provides you a copy of that contract. I opted to receive my copy of the contract view email, and reviewed it thoroughly. Recently, I went to the gym to cancel my membership, and they explained that I had to pay a $68 contract buy-out fee. This caught me off guard, as I did not recall seeing it in the original agreement I reviewed my copy of the agreement and pointed out to the staff that there was nothing in my copy of the contract explaining this fee. They then produced another copy of the agreement from their system, with additional content including the fee verbiage. Both versions of the agreement had my identical signature. In summary, my copy of the agreement that I executed and received after signing up WAS DIFFERENT than the agreement that they produced in an attempt to enforce the fee on me, while both had my signature on them. Now to be clear, I don't think this was intentional fraud as it may appear to be on the surface level. I believe it was a technical glitch and my original copy of the agreement was missing intended content. They did waive the cancellation fee after I aggressively stated my case. However, the incompetence in putting customer signatures on differing agreements is egregious. Planet Fitness needs to implement a document management system that is not susceptible to such absurd errors, and own up to their mistakes when they do occur. In the meantime, ensure that you retain your copy of the membership agreement, and do not allow them to put your signature on documents you didn't sign. read more

I've traveled the country and been to different Planet Fitness locations. This is undoubtably the worst Planet Fitness I have ever been to. It's dirty! The showers are cold! Ice cold! I just got my black card membership back again and decided to try this new location because its close to my house. Needless to say I will continue to drive to Fairfield commons location in Lakewood. The equipment and the location itself was amazing, also the black card member area was better than I've seen. However the workers were a bit snobbish for my taste. read more

Was told that there was a one year one time $39. fee when I signed up. Now they billed me on my 2nd year another $39. fee which puts my Black Card membership to almost $250 per year. And the shower water turns cold almost everytime I shower there. And the crowds have gotten crazy there. Going to cancel my membership. read more
