I recently started going back to gym again. My expectations were exceeded, there was so many types of equipment. It is very clean in the gym. People have been respectful with the equipment, and the front desk personnel were very friendly with the black card perks. The hydromassage was great, i recommend everyone to give it a try. The bathrooms could be cleaner. Not sure but there could be a better design for the bathroom sink as there is always water everywhere on the sink and on the ground. It would be great to also have some paper towels in the sink area so we can also help give it a wipe to help out. Just a suggestion. Overall this gym is great and i definitely will keep coming back. Great Gym! I joined this gym after covid. I previously went to a now closed gym in Milpitas. This gym is 100 times better. When I first joined everyone was helpful. I did see a slump a few months in, with cleaning not quite up to par and many tv's or equipment out of service. One day I saw a man in a suit inspecting the gym and now bam it's clean and got repairs. Right before that it was hard to find the staff. Now there is more suitable and helpful staff. I am a regular but not a gym junkie, but I appreciate a clean well maintained gym. The bathrooms/ lockers are clean. It can be quite busy but toilets seem to always be available. It's also nice the variety of tv shows from Sports to HGTV. It can get quite busy with gym patrons but knowing the gym meter on the app helps. It does irritate me when patrons just sit on machines not using them and just on their phones. Maybe some seats throughout the gym would help. Or reminders for patrons to be mindful of others time. Another idea is to get more of the popular equipment and get rid of unused ones. I appreciate the amount of treadmills, and types of ellipticals. The giant fan above them really helps as well. Also in the spa room the 3 hydrobeds are amazing. I have noticed an increase of police presence in the parking lot and the tower camera. I've been to three of the South Bay locations and this one I like the most. It's not the closest to me, but I work out and use the Hydromassage bed and massage chair when I'm in the Milpitas area. It makes paying of Black Card membership worth it. They have newer equipment, hopefully the others will update theirs soon. The treadmill runs very smoothly, hence I can write this review in real time. I liked the newer treadmill too. In last upgrade, those treadmills were built for taller folks and put shorter members in an awkward leaning position. Being on the Papa Bear size treadmill made it hard to see the televisions. Speaking of tv's, this location has eight different channels, more sports on and less news, thank heavens. The cardio machines run 5 long rows deep, spanning the length of all the tv's,. So, you should be able to position yourself with good viewing choices. Weekend warriors such as myself wanting to make up cardio will love it here. There are new strength building machines as well. I didn't try those out, just my usual favorites and those were working nicely and no tears, rips, nor missing parts. The lighting and temperature iwere just right. This location has more square footage to accommodate the weekday evening rush. There are wider aisles and spacing between machines. The Milpitas Planet Fitness makes me happy I'm a Black Card member. The other PF's are fine, friendly employees greet you and say goodbye when you leave. Yes, on occasion, I wish there were classes, personal training, but I don't want that included in my monthly fee. I have been a member for close to a year now. Highly recommend this place. I moved from a 24 hour fitness in Milpitas and that place was literally a dump and I regretted why I hadn't moved to Planet Fitness sooner. This place is kept clean all the time, free weights are stacked up (I see staff walking by whenever I'm there picking up trash/cleaning up). Bathrooms are clean. And I have seen members often take the effort to clean up equipment after they are done working out. Only limitation is that there is fewer equipment at this location compared to other Planet Fitnesses in the area (I have been to the Union City one, which had a lot more variety and was bigger than this location). It does get busy in the peak hours, but if you are there for a treadmill or elliptical, there are way too many at this location for all of them to be occupied. The only downside for me is that this location is a bit too far from my home - so, I'm moving to a different gym closer to him. read more

1. It is extremely hard to cancel in the app, in person or over the phone. I would never sign up with this company again. They continuously bill me even though I canceled. 2. This club seems to be managed by young inexperienced people. 3. The bald short Hispanic man that works overnight...he came into the women's locker room while I was in there and was very rushy and rude because he needed to clean and according to him I had been in there an hour. Why was he keeping tabs? Creepy behavior. I canceled because I did not feel safe coming to this club. The locker rooms and shower needs a deep cleaning because they are nasty. When I spoke to the manager Zach he laughed about my concern with the presence of a male employee coming into the locker room while I was getting dressed. I asked so many front desk employees about why there are so many tv monitors focusing on the news only. I asked for CNBC or cooking channels to be restored, and every time I asked, the answer has always been different. One person said the remote control unit is broken! What? You can't request a new one? Another one said, they have no control over what channels to show, it was set up that way by the satellite company! What? These are the most ridiculous answers I got. Also, mentioned that one faucets in men's bathroom stays on for one minute after finishing washing my hands and definitely it was wasting a lot of the precious water that we are in desperate need to preserve in California . They denied it and when I asked if as a Black card member if I can skip it and let my guest try them both, they offered a tour and said only can try one. I wanted to update this review: I moved out of state this month and had the option to enroll at a Planet Fitness or a direct competitor in my new town. Based on my poor experience with PF management in Milpitas specifically, including being charged a $39 annual fee for a gym I didn't use in 2024 as I had cancelled in December, I won't be returning to Planet Fitness and instead chose the competing brand. I would have gladly re-enrolled had the cancellation process been completed on the date I unenrolled in December, and had they not charged again in January unbeknownst to me. At the time, I was financially struggling and even expressed this to the manager. Their emails were cold and they didn't care about me at all. I will never visit their gym again because they didn't have any sympathy for me or even basic politeness. It's disappointing because I was a Black Card member for years, which means I paid more for their services over the base enrollment. However, I can't overlook the shady business practices, like hidden clauses in contracts and difficulties with cancellations. Milpitas PF's refusal to waive the annual fee despite my situation (I disclosed that it was a particularly difficult time financially at the time so the $39 charge was a lot for me), and the cold, dismissive responses from their management team, left a lasting negative impression even all this time later. Just wanted to finish with the fact that I've NEVER received a resolution from PF Milpitas or PF themselves. As a consumer, I had the option to re-enroll and despite being a loyal customer for PF for several years, I am going out of my way to choose the other gym a bit further across town due to this experience. read more

This is a fairly new gym and it's disappointing to see you're already slacking. You advertise equipment being clean in your TV commercials but clearly far from reality. Did the pandemic not teach you how quickly germs can spread?!? This gym is open 24/7 which should give staff plenty of time to be cleaning the equipment and making sure the gym is sanitary, shiny, clean, and that supplies are stocked well! I started to come again.. I work 4 days a week, I tend to stay up late and decided I'd come and use my membership I've been paying for 7 years and not using. I come and I go straight to use the massage chair. Then I wash my body because I feel like when I use the total body enhancement after the chair it's best when my skin is clean. I do have to say the guy that works nights isn't very approachable. I usually have to repeat myself two to three times when asking to use something in the black card spa. This is the closest location in between work and on my way home but the guy makes me feel uncomfortable when I come like if I can't use the amenities I pay for. The showers are never cleaned or looked at because I've seen the same two coins left by someone else in one of them which is gross. I've been going to this gym for about four months now, and since their commercial during (a certain major football game) this gym is packed after 3 p.m. Over the past month or so, it seems like something in the PF spa section is constantly broken, whether it's one or the hydromassagers or massage chairs. The hydro used to be amazing, but now they lose pressure constantly. I'm not sure why the staff keeps saying it's fixed when clearly it's not. One of the female staff members seems a little snotty. She can't even be bothered to look up from her cell phone when people check-in, and a few times I've seen her hiding in the women's bathroom to text. When I said "have a great day," as I left the gym, she didn't even look up from her phone while she was standing at the front desk. I've talked to my other family members who have joined this gym, and they've noticed her bad attitude as well. Otherwise, the women's bathroom/showers/locker room is pretty much immaculately clean. Occasionally I'll shower at the gym before going out to dinner and it was pretty comfortable. I like the selection of equipment. I'm trying to strengthen my body and I like that there are ample cardio and strengthening machines for me to choose from. The PF app makes it easy for a newbie to learn the proper techniques. The workout facilities are fine but severe lack of airflow makes half the gym stuffy. Not good for a workout. They have two huge fans but hasn't worked since I have been going here. It would be five stars if they fixed the facilities when they broke down. Update. They fixed the fan that wasn't working. Much better now. The only problem now is the staff. My wife and I wanted to tan but no one was at the counter to activate it. This happens a lot. I went in to the mens locker room and they were both there in the shower area. A young man and woman. And a guy was taking a shower. They didn't seem to care and just continued talking. He could have finished his shower at anytime and I don't think he knew they were there. This gym is the perfect starter gym, but everyone has to move on eventually. I have been going to this gym for a little over a year, about four times a week. Over that time, I've only ever seen three machines that were out of service, and they were all fixed within a day or two. I go between 2PM-4PM and the gym is not busy, with all the machines I want to use already open. The problem I have is with the staff. They're usually 20somethings who are not customer service oriented. Every time I see them, they are either on their phone or talking to each other. I've asked to use the waterbeds in the back, and half the time, I've been given the cold shoulder. Recently I became a Black Card member, and it is not worth the additional $10/month. What the membership does is grant access to the back rooms, with tanning beds, water massage beds, and a small lounge. For the extra charge, I would have expected some free fruit-infused water or a sauna, but that is not the case. They do have Dracula available to read on their waterbed monitors though, so that's fun. read more

I joined Planet Fitness today in the McCarthy location, and I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was and how many workout equipments there are. Parking: you will not have any trouble finding parking here because the lot is so large and there are not a lot of other businesses near the area. Signing up: easy and could be done by phone. It's also one of the cheapest gyms to join. Cleanliness: 10/10 because everything is brand new. They have cleaning stations located all around and I noticed that they routinely clean the bathroom. Extra Pro's: there's not too many people, at least the time that I went, but maybe it's because it's still new and people are still learning about it. Overall, I recommend for people to try it out and if you don't like it, you can easily leave without any commitment issues via the phone application. read more

Welcome Milpitas Planet Fitness! I have been waiting for this to open as you can't really beat Planet Fitness's monthly rate. This new location has a very spacious parking lot and the facility itself is very clean and spacious. There are lots of cardio machines here (bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, arc trainers, stair masters, row machines) and several weight machines (about 2 per kind). There are 4 assisted weight racks available by the mirrors to check for form. Several cleaning stations with hand sanitizer available. They are taking covid precautions and all individuals are abiding and wearing masks while inside the facility. I appreciate the back where there is room to stretch and ab machines. They even have a small jungle gym for pull ups, monkey bars, etc. All of the staff I've come across at the front have been super friendly and welcoming. I went to planet fitness today around 10pm and the front desk girls Burgandy & Rumor were so nice and helpful when it came to helping me and my guest check in. The girls made the check in so quick & easy and even offered to give my guest a tour of the gym so they could possibly get a membership as well. Burgandy stepped in to give me and my guest a tour and she was really sweet & nice and made sure my guest had all their questions about the gym answered. This spot is located at the McCarthy Ranch shopping area in Milpitas. This is one Planet Fitness Gym that is on the outskirts of town, which means very little crowds. And I hope it remains that way after this review. I visited this spot randomly since it was in my work area. Went there after work, expecting a crowd of folks, but it was modestly uncrowded, which I love. I was there between the times of 5pm-7pm, and I didn't have to wait for any machines. As always, the staff was super nice with smiley eyes. The facility was spotless and clean. The ventilation was on point. My friend repeats at least 8 times. Then he yelled at me from calling her stupid and rude because he can NOT write down my friend's name. He is an abusive bully. I only come to this Planet Fitness location because I was a Fitness 19 - Milpitas member but they closed this month to become a personal training studio only. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind Planet Fitness. I like their clean, spacious gym, but customer service was just OK. I asked the guy at the front desk the other day for a card since I had an old card from Fitness 19. He just said that they didn't do cards and told me to scan my card. Meh.
