If cleanliness is not high on your priority list, then this is the gym for you! It's super cheap & the reasons it's so cheap is because they cut costs by not hiring employees. When there are less employees it means no cleaning gets done and boy does it show. I have never seen an employee cleaning or wiping down a machine. Don't count on the gym goers to wipe down after they use a machine neither. read more

First time my husband brought me here they were renovating and it wasn't much to see. But we started going every other morning after dropping our daughter off at school to get a workout in. They finished the renovations and it looks pretty good in there. I still think the women's bathroom needs more light. It's a little dungeon like in there. The massage lounge chairs are really nice after a workout and you don't feel as soar the next day. You need to be a black card member, but it's a nice luxury. read more

I've read the other reviews, but I have to say it was not at all my experience. I live in MGM, but travel and joined PF to give me access around the southeast. I am also a member of the Y. This was my first visit to the MGM PF facility and it was great. I used the restroom, equipment, and hydro massage. They location was clean and the lady on staff was kind, inviting, and cleaning equipment as she worked the front counter. I will go back again. read more

Let me be clear when I say that I am not being facetious about being in planet fitness gyms all over this country. I am on the road for business all the time. This all being said this gym takes the cake for the dirtiest showers I have ever seen. Hair from what appears to be from someone shaving there head, trash, poor drainage, five-year-old soap, broken fixtures, dirty shower curtains, and God knows whatever else that I was able to not see with my flashlight due to the only two lights operable in that area of the locker room. I am a simple man, and I don't require a lot, however when I sit here and read the other reviews about this location it tells a tale. You were dealing with an owner of a franchise that does not care. The inability to re-appropriate funds back into a business to maintain upkeep for cleanliness, and maintenance is a must for business owners. The literal dust ring The lays around the only planet fitness in Montgomery Alabama is a direct reflection of the lack of care and direction. People should know that there are planet fitnesses that exist that will leave you astonished that you're actually inside a planet fitness. I do not expect, or require all planet fitnesses to meet the same requirements as those. However I do expect someone to actually care. It's planet fitness! The staff are all kind and helpful, always happy to greet you and answer your questions no matter how ridiculous they probably sound. If you have their black card membership which is really only $10 more a month, you get extras like free tanning and this hydro-massage and you can bring a friend with you for free anytime and well as visit any other Planet Fitness anywhere. They have a large number of cardio machines such as treadmills and bicycles, and usually enough weight machines you don't have to wait very long. And tootsie rolls and other candies. Don't forget the showers and of course no judgement. read more

WiFi hasn't worked properly in my last 60 gym visits over the span of four months (it's not my device or operator error). This place isn't perfect, but here's why it gets five stars from me: The value you get for how much you pay is great. The people that work there are awesome, the tour I got when I first went there was cool. There are plenty of machines for cardio and strength training. My favorite thing about the place is the 30-minute circuit workout. I've been doing that regularly for the first week and I feel like I've already gotten in better shape. The no judgement thing is cool. I don't have a self-esteem issue despite my chubby body, but I know that there are others that do and it's great that everybody can work out and not have to worry about feeling judged. Paying the extra $10 a month gets you perks like free hydromassages and seated massages, things I take advantage of almost every time I do. I'm gonna definitely get my $20 per month worth of the place. Now, while I am giving five stars, there are some things that I feel could be improved or I just thought were off: -You need a voided check if you want to sign up in the gym at that time. Who honestly has a voided check on them? I don't know if the employees get commission based on how many new memberships they sign up, but they don't get it if you sign up online. Either relax the voided check requirement or put somewhere in the online sign up process to give credit to a particular employee at that location -No free weights for the bench press or squat. They have the smith machine that can be used, but it's not the same. I'm not mister expert lifter, but I did play football and when I lifted, just felt way more comfortable using free weights. -Dumbbells only go up to 75 pounds. I'm not trying to judge anyone else, but I do want to see how heavy I can do dumbbell bench press. 75s were easy, but I have to go somewhere else to find out how much heavier I can go. -I was hearing things, but I definitely thought they said there was a sauna there. Maybe I read that somewhere. Maybe it's at other locations. Can't remember. Either way, this place is awesome and I suggest you sign up! read more

So I signed up for PFBC online yesterday online when I get to this planet Fitness I walk in and was handed my black card toon a picture and was told to go have fun! no welcome to planet Fitness no let me show you around where everything is, also reading reviews people get a t-shirt as a new member well as you can guess didn't get that either. Nothing about my membership and what it covers. So I decided to use the tanning bed big RED X for me the tanning bed was obviously dirty and sweaty marks all over the glass of the tanning bed so I almost immediately walked out to make them go clean it or put me in a different bed but as I was about to I said nah they are already showed me they are lazy at the front desk now this so I'll clean it myself then as I clean the bed I noticed there is no trash can in the room to dispose the dirty paper towels from cleaning the bed so yes needless to say this place was not very motivated for new customers or cleanliness read more

Planet fitness reminds me of Average Joe's gym from the movie Dodgeball. It's a place for everyone, anyone, and they even give you pizza as a reward for working out! I'm not kidding, this gym has pizza sometimes. And I love them for that, I love that I can feel normal here and not judged or laughed at for trying to get healthier. I love the atmosphere, I usually come in around lunch time and get my cardio in. I admit, I haven't tried a lot of the equipment, I usually just stick to the elliptical, treadmill, or bikes, as I really just come in to get a quick cardio boost. It's always clean and the bathrooms are nice as well. I would give five stars but the front desk customer service is not on point. I mean would it kill them to say hi? Apparently so....I think a nicer reception when you come in would be pleasant but either way, I'll keep coming in because it's close to my house and it fits my needs. read more

This place is awesome. Great customer service, new machines, something for all muscle groups. They also have a trainer that does classes and a few times a week, you can tell them what progress you want to see, and they'll make a workout schedule for you. Love this place. read more

Falling apart. The gym is small and cramped and always hot and stuffy. The Wifi hardly works. It kicks you off and on. They have said they are under construction but it's been about 3-4 months and they still have not completed construction/renovation. On the good side the staff is always cleaning the machines and the gym has lots of treadmills so there is always one available. read more

Very upset with this place... did not explain anything to me signing up. I ended up having to pay the most money for the least amount of benefits. Did not give me a tour of the place or anything that they said would happen online. I was not told billing would resume when the gym reopened in May. I sent an inquiry on the PF website, and the manager claims she never got it, and would not refund my June dues. I used to be at this gym 3-4x a week for over a year, but have not gone since March because my grandmother is a cancer patient. The whole family is staying home and doing our best to keep her safe. One of the employees I talked to the several times I had to call to try to get a manager said I'm charged regardless of whether I go or not. This isn't me not going. There's a pandemic. I'm trying not to kill my elderly grandmother who has cancer. Manager Becca kept saying she was "sorry", but showed zero sympathy and refused to return my June fees despite my situation. I was told there was no way to pause my membership, which is ridiculous. You have to cancel and pay higher monthly dues when you rejoin. But, a few weeks later people who refuse to wear masks can pause their membership? Planet Fitness you should be ashamed. You really can't pause your membership to protect your grandmother with cancer, but you can pause it if you're selfish and don't want to wear a mask. Shame on you and shame on that manager Becca. I will never give Planet Fitness another dime. read more

The pricing is great! However I've joined several gyms before and this was (by far) the worst customer service experience I've ever had! I signed up online, so when I went in to work out for the first time I expected a tour of the facility, or maybe just a verbal indication where the restrooms were. Forget it! The girl behind the desk took my picture, gave me my free t-shirt,key ring scanner, and literally said "alright" Not even a welcome and thank you for joining! I made up my mind right then that I wouldn't be back and wouldn't recommend it to my sister who was thinking of joining. I signed up for planet fitness on 1/12/17 and when I went on 1/18/17 the gym was overcrowded so I decided to cancel my membership because the girl behind the counter stated it was always busy after 5 pm. and that the only time I have to workout. I called back later and asked will my money be refunded that was processed on 1/17/2017 she stated no because I didn't cancel on or before the 10th of the month. She refused to give me corporate number she stated they don't have a corporate number. I found a number online and called corporate the guy on the phone stated he was going email the business and have someone call me and I have yet to hear from them. Also in the contract it states you have a 3 days cool off period that excluded holidays and weekends and I was within that time because 1/16/2017 was a holiday but they still refused to refund me and let me use the gym for the month I paid. read more
