Checked in this morning while traveling through the area and the girl at the counter was very unpleasant and Acted like we were trying to sneak in. She ID me made me Scan in twice ID ed my wife and while she was so concerned about us she let a couple walk right past without scanning in at all. If you hate your job you should not be the face of a business Just watched her do the same to another couple of young ladies apparently the main member's profile picture was a treadmill and the same counter girl gave her shit and she said well I didn't take my picture you did. Very nice Planet Fitness one of the biggest ones I've ever been in very clean would definitely go back.

After the last experience at a different PF that had no hot water, I checked the showers here first before starting a workout. Yes, hot water. This is a large space with plenty of machines. I had no trouble doing some arms and chest before spending time walking on the treadmill. Good stuff. Back to the shower where I washed, had a great shave and felt ten times better. Planet Fitness - Mount Pleasant, SC is one of the nicest gyms I've ever been to. The facility is huge, spotless, and very well maintained. I signed up for a Black Card membership because they offer all the great amenities the chain is known for--cryo-massage, regular massage chairs, HydroMassage, a tanning booth, and red light therapy. There are dozens of treadmills and cardio machines, plus a large and well-equipped free weight section. They also offer classes and a helpful orientation for new members. It's a great value, and the staff keeps everything clean and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gym with top-notch amenities in a friendly, comfortable environment. read more

I went to work out today since club closed yesterday for new equipment. I was excited to see the new equipment. But when I went to the circuit/30 minute workout room it was gone. There was no signage or announcements ahead of time. I went to the desk and manager stated it was completely gone. No positive interaction or offer to show me new layout. I asked if the equipment was somewhere else and she snapped no it is gone. Thinking she did not understand what I was asking I tried again by asking if there were alternative machines because I could change to those. She again said that equipment is gone and there are machines against the wall. I explored on my own and located some of the substitute machines in the center of the gym. So the answer should have been yes, let us orient you to new layout and equipment. Definitely did not feel like "no judgment ". So probably giving up my Black Card membership and looking for a new alternative gym. read more

Cold showers, wet floors and nowhere to sit in the dressing area topped off with bad tasting water and no intention to fix any of it make Planet Fitness in Mt Pleasant a last resort. The equipment is decent for a discount gym and the atmosphere is nice but corporate definitely doesn't care about their facilities. When I asked about cold water they just said lots of people take showers - to me that says they have no intention of fixing the problem and don't really care. same thing with the water fountains. They blame Mt Pleasant water. I've lived in Mt Pleasant for 15 years and work a few parking lots over. Tap water is great everywhere but from their facility. Once again they obviously don't care and aren't going to fix it. Who knows what's in the pipes?? In addition to rarely having hot water the dressing area at the showers is about a foot deep and is always covered in water from the shower spray/run off. They have 1 dressing stall that is hit or miss if it will be open and the floor is wet in there half the time too from people coming directly from the showers. The only place to sit is in front of the lockers and you are always blocking someone going to a locker if you try to sit to put your shoes on. If you have a choice I would pick another gym - especially if you plan to shower in the dressing room. The staff is always friendly and keep the gym area clean. read more

This isn't my usual Planet Fitness location, but I've found myself there recently because it's beside my sports chiropractor's office. The Mt. Pleasant Planet Fitness is super nice inside- the gym is very clean, spacious, and has tons of equipment. Like every Planet Fitness, it is cardio heavy, but there are some free weights and barbells available too. All of the cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, Arc Trainers, ellipticals, stair masters) have personal viewing screens. This Planet Fitness also has some neat amenities that other locations nearby don't have, including a massage bed that's heated and a cyclone wind tunnel. There's free wifi and some couches to relax after your workout, too. The staff members are nice but generally stay out of the way, and the location is great- plenty of parking and close to Long Point Rd. and I-526. If you want a post-workout snack, there are also some healthier food options and coffee shops nearby, too. read more

Can I declare that this is the best PF I've ever visited?!! Well, I have! It's the coolest. This PF is right off the highway close to everything and only about 20 minutes from the Wild dunes resort I was staying at for the week. I literally never use the gym at the resort because they never have what I need for a real 2 hr workout. This PF has everything and more. The stars of this location are the Cyxlone Hallway that will cool you down if you get overheated, the infrared massage table, and the 30 minute circuit area. This was a top of the line PF and the staff are pretty cool to boot! CJ was very helpful and showed me around at 4:39 once he noticed it was my first time visiting this location. I went here three days in a row and I don't have one bad thing to say about this PF! If you are in Charleston, SC this should be your gym! read more

Big spacious non threatening for us newbies to the gym scene.. For me being it's my first time ever at a gym.. it's a little overwhelming. Lots of machines. The place is massive. I got the royal tour from one of the employees and set up a meeting with a trainer to try and figure out a routine for my self. $20 per month. Great deal and I get to go to any other PF. You can also bring a friend every time which is a very nice perk. So now for the work out.. Lots of instructions and pictures in every area to show you how to use machines. And my favorite part... absolutely no grunting what so ever, no slamming is machines. This place is very user friendly, clean and non threatening as I said. So if you are on the fence about joining, I say definitely check this place out. read more

Men's bathrooms are regularly out of order. Not a great attribute for a gym. Irritating. Update: Contrary to what gym's below response implies, they know there's an issue. They literally have big yellow caution tape roping off the bathroom side of the locker room and a sign at the locker room entrance that notifies you that the bathroom facilities aren't working. How about you guys actually fix the problem permanently, not lie about it on reviews, and not blame it on gym patrons not letting you know about it? This CYA was a really crummy move PF. read more

Planet Fitness only has three rowers. One has been out of service for more than six months and another at least two months. I'm not quite sure how they define "temporarily out of service". I have talked with the local manager and sent a complaint to the main office months ago. I don't understand why this gym has negative reviews. I wanted to find out for myself, so I went and toured it. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the gym, the kind staff, and diverse equipment. The black card membership is only $25 and only is $1 to sign up (until August 31). The black card allows me to use any of the message devices (hydro lounge, hydro bed, heated massage pod, massage chairs), bring a guest every time I visit, use the tanning beds, use the red light therapy, access other locations, etc. I've only been a member for 4 days and I've already been 3 times. I really enjoy my time there. I've never been one to shower at a gym, but the bathrooms are so clean, I felt comfortable doing so when needed (with shower shoes of course). I've also had a pleasant experience with my fellow members. I've noticed that everyone respects each other and also puts forth an effort to clean the machines properly before moving on to the next. Even though they don't have a free weight bench press, there are hundreds of other options (smith machines, etc) that allow me to complete my exercises and change them up each time. Horrible experience with the management here. I have zero problems with the employees and they are always very friendly with me but the short Mexican lady is one miserable person. She always has a rude attitude and demeanor and it seems like she tries finding problems with my membership every time I go in. I shouldn't have to worry about being harassed by a manager who is supposed to represent the company any time that I want to get in the gym and get a workout in. I think this miserable woman should find something else to do with her life that doesn't involve customer service because she is rude and nasty to everybody, and clearly has a miserable life. Visited while on vacation. The front desk staff was super nice, everything was clean, and other gym goers were friendly and courteous.

I was invited to go with my daughter who is a member. I was curious to see what kind of equipment they have and if I would like it. I have a home gym so I usually don't go to gyms. What I found was a well kept nice gym. This is a great beginners gym and is very user friendly. They have all types of cardio and weight machines to get a good workout. They off a couple types of memberships - Standard and Black card. Standard gains you access to the gym but not to the added features - massage rooms, fitness classes, guest privileges and tanning rooms. With a cost of $11-22 the memberships are much more reasonable and come without the annual commitment of other gyms. They do have some dumbbells and do have a few barbells. This would be a great place to stay in shape or to get in shape. You are not going to bulk up but if that's not what you are looking to do then PF would be prefect for you. The gym is well laid out and they keep is very clean. Most of the staff is super friendly but there is one young man working the front counter who is not very friendly is quite rude when you ask him questions or need anything. Overall not a bad deal and a nice gym to get yourself back in shape. read more

I've had a basic membership here for about 6 months now, and I've been super pleased! For the price, you really can't beat it. If you're just looking for basic gym amenities, without a lot of bells and whistles, this is your spot. They always have a ton of cardio machines (I've never had to wait to use one), and they have multiple sets of dumbbells, some kettlebells, bosus, etc. What I love most is that there is a TON of empty floor space, which is something a lot of gyms lack. But I like to set up my own little workout station with a mat, some props, and room to do stuff like burpees and lunges, etc. So I love that I can do that stuff here without feeling like I'm in somebody's way. I also like that they play music over the speakers, but that it's not so loud that it interferes if you want to listen to your own music with headphones. My only issue is that the water fountain is on the opposite side of the gym from the weight room, so you definitely need to bring a water bottle so that you're not always having to waste time by walking over there to get a drink. But it's not a huge deal. read more

At 6pm they only have one person working. he was so busy on the phone for customer he was not able to watch people coming in. some of them did not even scan in. he also could not check us in for Total Body and tanning. the total body machine is out dated and does not work correctly. the tanning bed had 9 bulbs out. AND they still have NO TRAINER. they had the best trainer before Covid and ever since they have not been able to keep one. so disappointed that they don't mind taking our money for a shit location. read more

I really love this gym! It's got everything you want in a gym and so much more. I quit my corporate membership to ESAC because even without a discount Planet Fitness was cheaper than ESAC with the corporate discount; not to mention PF is a lot cleaner and offers a lot more than ESAC. When visiting the gym we were given a tour of the gym and told about all the amenities that Planet Fitness offers. Before we were half way over we were sold on a membership. Planet Fitness has some very nice equipment; about 40 Treadmills, 20 ellipticals, a couple of stair climbers, about 10 or so Cybex machines, a 30 minute workout room that takes you through a full body workout, a 12 minute abs room and weights (both machine and free). You can get all this for just $10 a month without any contract. But wait! There's More! If you go with the Black Card Membership you get all that plus access to the black card members only benefits of free chair massage, hydro-massage, total body rejuvenation, and tanning beds. All this can be yours for just $20 a month on a one year contract. Plus with the black card membership you get unlimited guest passes to bring 1 person with you when you come in, and you can visit any PF gym in the US. A gym is a gym is a gym until it isn't. I've been to a number of gyms that for all intents and purposes purport to be gyms but in name only. Planet Fitness is not that. PF is a pretty good gym with helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere to get a good sweat on. While it lacks several free weights, perfection is a high bar so you take what you can get and I've got no other complaints. It's clean and the weight machines are regularly maintained so everything looks professional and everything works properly. The barbells are always put back in order and patrons rarely camp out at particular machines. This location outclasses the several I routinely visited in Southern California so I'm happy to be a regular user. On a side note: The cell phone service is often atrocious and there never appears to be a fully functioning WIFI signal so that's why I knocked off a star. read more

I get to this gym around 5:30pm about 3 times a week. Without fail, every time I go in the trash cans in the locker room and the gym itself are overflowing with paper towels, the bathrooms are almost or fully out of toilet paper, and the front desk staff ignore you even when you tell them hello or thank you. They make you feel like you're interrupting them even though they're clearly not doing anything. The 30 minute circuit area always has people on it not participating, just using one or two machines and just sitting there doing multiple reps and resting so you have to go around them and come back when they leave. There are signs that this room is for the circuit only and monitored by staff, but if it is monitored they don't do anything about it. Today I signed up for a massage, got the usual room number response and nothing else, and went in. About 4 minutes into my 10 minute massage, the machine shuts off. I sit there for a little bit to see if it will come back on, it gives me a countdown so I turn it back on. It shuts off shortly after that. Then an employee comes in and tells me I have to get off, there are people waiting. I explain I was only there for a few minutes, he asks me if the machine shut off and I turned it on again. I told him yes, but because of what happened, then his demeanor changed and he said okay well there are people waiting and he can get me a new massage chair. I told him to forget it. I finally get have a conversation with someone there and get talked down to. I am so fed up with this location! read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I've been a member here since 2019 and I've been going since before the pandemic and once the opened back up. They have a mask policy that is ridiculous! I was told by an employee that they require a mask only in the lobby area. I see plenty of people in there that don't wear masks while walking around or in the locker rooms. I was kicked out for not wearing a mask as I walk through the lobby during my workout. They don't enforce this policy consistently and I also noticed employees not always wearing a mask. They were very rude and aggressive when confronting me about it. This place is a joke they think a mask in the lobby is going to cut down on any virus? Do not give your business to these dumb asses. I won't be returning to planet fitness. They were very rude and disrespected to me. When they told me I would be kicked out of I didn't have a mask on. When I noticed several other people without a mask. You need to train your staff better. There's a right way to talk to people and a wrong way. What she did and said was the wrong way. read more

Don't tease me bro!!! I just rejoined my second favorite Planet. Planet Fitness. They had a sign up saying if you signed up a friend that you could win a 60" tv in time for the Super Bowl. When my wife asked them about it they said, and I quote,"That expired yesterday." It's the first thing you see when you walk in and it's at eye level for normal people. If it's expired I said, and I quote,"Then why don't you take the sign down?." Silence. Confusion. Exasperation. OK. On to real life. This is my first time to the gym in a long time. I put my account on "hold" for about 25 lbs. the "hold" was expired so it cost me an extra dollar. I didn't really have any problem with that. Especially compared to a sign for a raffle I wasn't going to win anyway. I had a good workout for my first time back and rewarded myself with one of their funky waterless water massages. Woot! Black Card member. Not gonna just go halfway on this thing. Ha! So, in order to protect my own privacy, my scale said 261.4 this morning. That's in pounds and not kilos, doggone it. I think that's 119 kilos So, tomorrow, if I'm Yelping, I won't need a keyboard. In all seriousness (you won't see that often) the place is chock full of exercise equipment for the whole family. It air conditioned and paper towels & spray bottles are provided all over the place so considerate people (like moi) can clean up before and after themselves. The equipment I perused and even used was all pretty clean. They've even got tiny TVs mounted in front of you in case you get bored walking in place or riding a bike in place. Bluetooth rules!!! I walked out under my own power and I will be back. 119 kilos is way too much, even for this broken body. My reward? Checked the mail when we got home, my first Social Security Disability check!!! Woot! Now we might be able to pay our taxes. But that's another review for another day. All y'all have fun! This is a non review, meaning I didn't even work out at this Planet Fitness because they wanted to charge me $20 for one day!!! That works out to $7300/year!!!! That is completely ridiculous. I don't know about this area but everywhere else In the country gyms are $10 for visitors. Moved to Charleston SC from Portsmouth NH. Been a PF member for at least 10 plus years. Unknown to me, I cancelled my membership but should have transferred. Sorry no one said a darn thing when I cancelled. Called this club to see about rejoining. Instead of welcoming me with open arms, it was fee this fee that.. What fees???? I haven't been to too many gyms, but this is a great one! I wouldn't want to switch gyms. The $10 monthly payment is more than worth your money. You get many different cardio machines to work out on. Plus they have at least 2 of each strength training machines so there is usually always one open. They have multiples of most weights so you can always find one you want. I have never felt awkward or like someone was judging me. I'm not in the best shape so it's nice to feel secure here. The employees are helpful and they can help you if you have any questions about the machines or weights. If you pay a bit extra you can get the tanning beds and personal trainers. I love it here! They are also open 24/7 so you can workout anytime that fits your schedule. read more
