Over all not a bad place to get a decent workout in. They have changed their hours and aren't even 24/5 anymore when they should be 24/7 to begin with, they close daily. The biggest thing here is they use to have really nice stands that held paper towel, spray bottles and trash cans. It looks that they wanted a cheap replacement and just went to Walmart and got cheap trash cans and then are now using command strip hooks to hang the spray bottles on that break very often and then the bottle just hangs on the trash can. Price for black card has went up but they replace things with cheap things. read more

Came as a visitor with my mom. Very standard equipment. Wish they had more free weights as an option. Cable systems were somewhat limited. The staff was very friendly. My biggest issue with this location is that I was told I could not have my backpack on the floor with me. It is policy that no bags are allowed on the floor. In my bag, I keep my weight lifting gloves, braces, and straps. I also keep my medical supplies as well in case of asthma attack or diabetic emergency. So I went ahead and took my bag outside and then noticed 2 other guests with their bags on the floor. They never said anything to them, even after I said something about it. Don't hold a guest to a standard you don't hold your customers too. Mom is canceling her membership now. read more

It's machines and dumbells, fairly straightforward. Everything is kept in quite nice condition. There are literally no barbells so forget anything that requires one. The dumbells go up to 75 if that matters to you (if it does PF may not be great for you). I really appreciate that there is always a treadmill free. I also do some weight training but I'm not particularly serious about it anymore. I paid for the year and it was right around 200 which seems about right to me. The smith machines tend to be camped at all times by people who look like they have made a semi-permanent encampment around them. If you really want smith machines free this may not be a great location for you. This location could use like 5 more smiths. read more

Very nice people but the management isn't very accommodating. It seems they don't get that OTHER Planet Fitness gyms treat their members much better. THEIR WEEKEND HOURS ARE AWFUL For example, Muncie Planet Fitness(a college town with Ball State U!) doesn't have 24/7, even though when I signed up they said they did; and, yet did not have full 24 hours Friday through Sunday. I would have joined the other PF in another town if I'd have known. NOW after many people must have complained, they post their 24/5 sticker but no other PF has these same hours, where I have traveled. THEY CLOSE EARLY RUDELY. They also shut down the fan and TV's and any of the massage equipment 30 minutes in advance. Sometimes they shut down the TV 10 minutes, but generally the feeling is that they don't care you paid for the full time, and it's rude, to say the least. This "Policy" stinks. THEY DON'T OFFER ALL THE GREAT PERKS FOR YOUR BLACK CARD like other PF gyms. There is no Total Body Enhancement machine. We pay the same amount of any other gym. There are four water massage beds when in other stores there are two. There IS room for this machine. Again, management doesn't care. They have the NEWS on in the dressing room. Bad bad bad decision. People are trying to relax. Not cool. I really like the people who work there, the management knows how to hire really nice people, but the management STINKS. It is interesting how a franchise can be lesser than others around, yet maintain "Sorry, we don't have room, or sorry that's the policy here." I'm just saying, if you travel, you know the difference and you resent being lied to and treated as if this is policy. It's only in Muncie. To the management: ask yourselves how many guys have I seen leave angry from not being able to complete a workout thinking it was 24/7? Many. Very sad. read more

You know what, I like Planet Fitness. It's not a place for powerlifting, to be sure. They don't have a squat rack or room for deadlifts. But they have a very extensive collection of machines, decent dumbbell selection, tons of cardio machines, and a great selection equipment for ismetrics, stretching, abs, and stabilizers (bands, ropes, etc.). It's cheap, clean, and convenient. I'm a member of two gyms.. but for many people Planet Fitness is a good choice. read more

I went in using the same membership I always have for months on end and this time the pervert manager wanted to stop me and say I couldn't use the account bc it was my moms info because she is paying for my membership. He tells me he can sign me up for a membership but all I need is my account number. then after he said he could sign me up he makes me do it myself and gets rude with me. while im at the tables signing up for my membership all the other employees are giving me dirty looks. I just wonder why they haven't stopped me for the past 7 months while I've been using this account they say is "not mine". I have been a dedicated member of the gym community since I was 15 and I had only been in a Planet Fitness one other time about 8 years ago in Cambridge, MA. I was visiting family for the holidays in Muncie, IN and decided to drop in for a few workouts. I found the facility to be really nice and well maintained. The other gym patrons were welcoming and most importantly the PF staff was very friendly and accommodating. read more

Great environment, the staff keeps the place very clean and everyone is always friendly!

The first time I came here I had an employee yell at me because they thought I needed to be charged when this is my home gym and I didn't buy anything. Today I got yelled at by an employee because when I came in Saturday no one had me grab a spray bottle so, as a normal person would, I wouldn't think I needed one cause you get one when you're just tanning. Then he got an attitude and was very rude to me when I didn't grab one. If you have expectations for your customers you need to make it a continuous effort to enforce them and stop yelling at your guests when you can't even do your job. Calling it "a safe place for people to feel comfortable to be" is 100% a lie. If this happens again I'm canceling my membership. Ridiculous. read more

The gym was always clean and the staff was friendly. Left because they do not have any barbells. Instead, they have smith machines, each machine having less than 200 pounds of weights available. If this Planet Fitness had barbells I would still be a member there. read more

If you're into cardio, this is your place. I'm by no means the strongest lifter, and I'm already out-growing some of their equipment. If they had more dumbbells that would be a major improvement. They need to do better! Although, I like how it's an older crowd, unlike the YMCA which is swarming with kids and teens. read more

The concept is great. I love that my mother can join a gym, and it is only $10 a month. So, while I was in town visiting, I decided to go with her as a guest (I am a member of a different gym, not PF). It was one hour before closing time. The charge for me to get in as a guest? $20! Come on. $5 is appropriate. $10, while still too high, is not overly offensive. When I mentioned they were only open another hour, the staff member stated, "There is nothing I can do." Then, when I agreed to pay the ridiculous amount...she didn't know how to ring it up and had to call her manager. Nice, large facility with a lot of options. Terrible guest policy. read more

Definitely the cheapest gym in town! It stays busy most of the time, but it's big enough that I've never felt like it was too busy to handle at any moment. Plus the facility always seem to be clean! read more

I enjoy the atmosphere at PF. I like the amenities that come along with an affordable membership. But.....Muncie Planet Fitness needs sone maintenance work! It is MAY! MAY!.......a parking lot full of pot holes is unacceptable! The automatic front doors dont work. When there is equipment that is broken....takes FOREVER to get it fixed (either machines or hydro beds). And then there is the spotty wifi. Great concept. Friendly staff. Fantastic atmosphere. Canceled my membership. My annual fee hit the bank the day before I came in to cancel and they won't refund me the $39. They refuse to let you cancel over the phone. You have to come in and cancel.
