No real complaints about the gym other than the number of people sitting at machines scrolling their phones "in between reps" I don't think the problem is over crowding as many people have complained about. Waiting for a machine while someone is literally sitting there watching videos is a problem. The problem has increased with teenagers there free for the summer. I asked if there could be a sign put up asking people to refrain from using their phones while sitting at a machine but was told they couldn't do that. read more

First off, let me say that all of PF Management's responses to every complaint I've read is that we should contact the local management. It says that in every negative review I've read. Obviously, this isn't working because it seems as if nothing has changed there in a long time. I get the fact that PF Natick is a franchise operation but why isn't PF Corporate getting involved to help??? The place is a mess and disorganized. Someone should take it seriously. Here's my updated review: I reviewed PF Natick about a year ago but since then, it's gone downhill. My main complaint has to do with the cleaning stations. Someone decided to remove some of them and reconfigure the whole setup. As a result, there is one paper towel dispenser and one bottle of cleaning solution for the entire weight machine area in the front. Then, to discard the paper towel, you have to walk to a waste basket in a different location. It makes no sense and in fact, it's leading to people to avoid cleaning the machines because it's too disorganized. Secondly, they installed some sort of small computer screens in the men's bathroom which are attached to each of the 3 faucets. These apparently are there to show ads, kind of like the screens you see at gas pumps. The only problem is that the screens interfere with hand washing. I go to PF Natick because it's closer to my house but I'm going to consider going somewhere else. read more

The gym is fine - typical Planet fitness but the locker rooms are generally filthy. The showers and sink areas don't appear to ever be deep cleaned as there is dirt, grime and filth in the corners and crevices that never goes away. These areas appear to only get a general "wipe down" which is gross, especially with so much use. read more

Been a member of this PF for a while, was very shocked and disappointed to see IPads ("sinkside billboards") displaying advertisement slop literally on the sink faucets. I do not understand this choice; it feels dystopian and insulting to consumers. It's also disgusting and provides another surface for bacteria to thrive. This is a good planet fitness because it's big and has a lot of machines but sometimes it's too many people there. The showers are also horrible with no proper hot water . That's the reason I took off 2 stars. Other than that it's a nice gym read more

Very crowded gym with oversold membership. Weight machines typically qued with members scrolling mobile phones. Locker rooms re way too small for the number of memberships sold and don't seem to have hot water in the bathroom sinks. Not recommended. read more

For $10 a month, this gym delivers. The staff are always friendly and kind. Anytime an "out of service" sign is on a machine, it's not up for long as the staff are clearly on top of repairs and maintenance. This is a great place to end my day. read more

Feb2023:4: I have been using this location since I have been taking care of my father in this area. I found that some of the people who use this facility seem to put their bag or clothes on the machine as if to reserve it while they are using a nearby machine or floor exercises. What?!? This location has a lot of members who takeover a weight machine and areas for 10 minutes removing the machine from other member's usage. The staff apparently allows this to happen without stopping the behavior. Jan2023: 4: I could recommend this location on this day. I believe this location could compete with the big brand name fitness facilities in the nearby area. I decided to try a new fitness center location since I was near where my family member lives and goes to the medical center. This one was the closest one within 3 mi of the medical appointment location. It was seemingly attached to another business at the front door and that business seems to be attached to another food business out front of the complex. The business is located within a small mall set off the main one lane highway adjacent to a major auto repair store. The front of the building is well marked but is clearly visible from the street. I did note that there was available handicap parking adjacent to the front of the entrance and convenient for entry into the facility. There are plenty of regular parking spots available in the immediate area. There were not enough workers at the front door. Some were fairly attentive and others were too distracted upon entry into the facility to the point of not even saying anything upon entering. The facility circles around to several workout areas for use. The heavyweights are not near the front door and the machine weights are off to the left after entering the facility. It is on one level with no stairs. The whole center area is dedicated to the treadmills, bicycles, and stair aerobics type machines. When I checked the men's locker room, I found that the area was clean. There were no broken lockers in the facility with the faces torn off, although several of the lock circles were broken. The shower areas and the dressing room areas were clean, operational, and available when I checked. All of the showers appear to be functional and clean. I checked the black card area and I saw no out of order signs on any of the equipment. There were several out of order signs on the other central equipment. Several of the machine weights need to be adjusted and calibrated accordingly. They had a worker out making adjustments and cleaning equipment when I was there in the facility. The hydro bed they have available is a flat type. There is a small cooler at the front door across from the entry desk. read more

Effective January 17, 2022 the Town of Natick to address the surge in COVID 19 established a mandatory mask requirement for all establishments available to the public. On a 01/19/22 visit to the Natick Planet Fitness I found several patrons unmasked and brought the unmasked issue to the front desk staff, Scot and Dean. Their response was they were not going to enforce the mask requirement. A critical public health requirement was being ignored by Planet Fitness. This Natick unit is filthy, clean the toilets urgently. Bathrooms are extremely dirty. Nobody cleans!!!! I've seen in the ladies' room, mountains of hair on the floor for over 15 days, dead insects. This is ridiculous! The sinks get so dirty, crusted with dirt for days. In the women's bathroom there are 4 showers and 2 of them have been disabled for months, and the 4 showers work normally in the men's bathroom. This is embarrassing!!! The toilets in the bathrooms are filthy, they stink !! This is surreal and embarrassing!!!! The two changers available do not have a bench to support the bags after showering. We are required to place our backpacks or purses on the floor after showering to change. There is no waste basket in the changers. They promote being a judgment free zone and do not allow intimidating body building "stuff". No dropping weights or making work out noise and they have an alarm system when this happens. I've never heard it but they said it was quite loud. The staff was all friendly and helpful giving tours, answering questions, and going over the rates. The gal I spoke to was nice and answered all my questions and I didn't feel pressured or uncomfortable. This is a great deal for the basics. More will come as they get settled but if you are a tanner or want to bring a work out friend and split the cost this deal will pay for itself. I've always had a negative feeling about PF in general. I had the opportunity to us a PF in AZ recently and was impressed by the space, the staff and the cleanliness. Fast forward to deciding to check out PF Natick after driving by it for many years and it didn't fail to impress. The gym is clean, there is a good vibe, and the price is right. The (new) assistant mgr is great as are all the employees I've interacted with. Minus 1 star for some equipment that I know is in other PFs that Natick doesn't have, lack of a dry sauna, and some improvements needed to the shower area. It's not the right gym for you if you are doing CrossFit workouts or if you are a competitive power lifter (unless it's secondary). Overall it's a surprising "highly recommend". read more

I use PF in Natick because of the price and proximity to my home. I've been in cleaner locations. As other reviewers have observed, the men's room usually has a really bad odor, in addition to water on the floor. I almost never shower there. One of the two urinals has been out of order for a awhile. The LED indicator on the water fountain that shows the filter status has been broken for as long as I can recall. For a long time, the red light showed that the filter life had ended (has the filter been changed?) The adult height water fountain has been out of service for several weeks. The staff is sometimes good about replacing empty paper towel machines. Some of the employees are friendly. I haven't really had many issues with the machines that I use and they did recently update to some new equipment. Cleaner, well-maintained bathrooms would make a big difference. read more

UPDATE 12/04/2020 After PF refused to offer an ongoing freeze on my membership (clearly because they bank on customers not getting around to calling to re-freeze memberships after the deadline and then charging those customers), I opted to cancel my membership outright. When I called to do so I was told that the only way to do this was 1) in person, or 2) in writing. In person is a poor option because PF's safety protocols are not up to snuff (more on this soon). In writing is a poor option because who has stamps when we live in a world where everything is generally paid online? The person who answered the phone was polite, and fully understood how ridiculous a policy this is when 2000 people are infected with covid-19 everyday ion Massachusetts, but of course they have no power to make things right. When I went in to cancel my membership the person at the desk asked for my reason, to which I replied their safety protocols, and to illustrate this I directed his attention to the member loitering in the area next to the desk with his mask slung under his nose. Again, it's not the 20 something behind the desk's responsibility, nor is it reasonably within their job description to go after mask violators, when some of these same mask violators have been shown to be prone to assaultive behaviors, make threats against those who ask them to mask up, and are generally just unsafe to be around. Ultimately, going to PF in person to cancel my membership very much underscored why I was canceling my membership. The proprietor of this PF clearly has zero regard for the health and safety of their employees or their members, and so I can only assume that the PF corporation is equally lacking in that regard. Whenever it is truly safe to return to gyms my advice sis to steer clear of this place, and this company, and, if you can, find a non-corporate gym that values its members and employees at least enough to not literally put their lives in danger. UPDATE 10/30/2020 I finally got a refund, but find it very telling that that only happened after writing this review. Everything I wrote still holds true. They still get 1 star. ***** Definitely read all of the reviews that have been posted since this gym opened up in the midst of a global pandemic that has killed over a million people worldwide, and is still claiming lives. The "safety measures" in place include wearing a mask while moving between machines, but not while exercising and expelling potentially infectious particles at a high rate. When I froze my account I was not told it was temporary and then was subsequently charged two months, and only realized it after reviewing my bank statement. When I attempted to recoup this I was told that they will not honor a refund, and further, they refused to put me in touch with either the franchise owner, or the regional manager. The science on this is clear, and I encourage everyone to read up on it themselves, rather than trusting PF's data, which I've seen them post under other recent one star reviews highlighting this same thing. Also know that PF is currently facing a class action law suit over their decisions to charge members while jeopardizing their safety, the safety of their families, and they own employees safety, as well as the general safety of the community read more

This place is disgusting!!!!! The men's locker room has a permanent smell that turns your stomach. I don't even want to leave my jacket in the locker room. The staff hardly clean this place. Maybe take some time and clean the place once in a while or walk around and enforce the gyms rules which are never done. Go somewhere else as this is hands down the worst of 15 planet fitness gyms I've been too. They should be ashamed of the smell, disorganization and just poor management. Update spoke to management. Smell has gotten significantly worse. None of the planet fitness rules about lunkheads being enforced. Staff seem to somehow care less than before. Okay for the price. You get what you pay for. This is a no frills type of gym. The free weight area is very limiting. The amount of cardio equipment is okay, not as many as the photo suggests. But enough that the wait is normally none to minimal. Pro- it's cheap. Cons - because it's cheap, you have all the uglies (like myself) working out here. No grunting allowed? I belong to another Planet Fitness facility but while my kids are participating in their activites I like to work out. I really want to be impressed but I'm not. The bathrooms are dirty. I got the el-cheapo special. It's perfect for what I want to do, which is do cardio. Walking in there was kind of peculiar. They had probably 100 boxes of pizza because it was Pizza Night. The womens' locker room is straight ahead, but you have to walk around the whole gym to get to the mens' locker room. There is a lunk alarm that goes off if someone drops a dumbbell. Don't be shocked when any of this happens. Parking is a situation as the place is a zoo on weeknights. Obviously everyone who got the deal, is serious about working out. We all show up at the same time. I would really suggest this place to anyone who is just interested in putting in a decent workout a few times a week on cardio machines. Anyone looking to do serious weight training should consider another gym. I don't think you can even take classes or get a personal trainer. I could be wrong, but 10 bucks a month is a good deal for me. read more

I've been to a many planet fitness, I currently mostly go to Norwood. The Natick one is always ridiculously dirty. The floors have tons of dust and hair. Looks like they're never cleaned. Bathroom is disgusting! Pads overflowing major health hazard. Smells like period blood. I am very upset. I don't think it's my place to walk over to a manager and inform them about the bathroom because it's so uncomfortable to say what I said on here face to face with someone. It was gut wrenching. If it was missing toilet paper of course I'd speak up but dirty pads and the smell of period blood is not something I want to tell someone face to face. I tried going there a second time just in case the first awful time was a fluke, but it was just as dirty. I will not be returning. Other negative is the parking lot. I signed up at this PF back in 2010 just before their grand opening. I think what's happened since that time is an over crowding problem. They can't seem accommodate their fast growing membership nor enforce any rules. More and more people use machines as sitting stations while they use their phones and waste other people's time who are waiting. Some people just sit at a machine staring into space while others wait. This is a growing type of clientele at PF and it's making my experiences more negative each time. The women's showers are gross. The handicap shower has been broken for months, which must be violating the handicap accessibility code. The handle in one of the other showers has been broken for the same amount of time, and you can't adjust the water temperature. The curtain liners are moldy and yellow, the shower walls are slimy and there is often hair in the drains...icky! The staff of 1 is friendly. The equipment is new, so it is in good shape. read more

So it's now been about two months since I started coming to this gym and I have decided to update my review. First and foremost, kudos to the staff as I have witnessed most of them have been a lot more polite than the reviews I have read here. Most of them will greet you and some will say goodbye when leaving. It's not a big deal to me but after all, it defies you're business character. This winter has been brutal and the amount of dirt that comes into the gym is absolutely far more than expected. I was happy to see that the employees were quick to clean up during busy and snowy times where many would enter with dirty boots. The men's locker room was horrible for sometime and could definitely use some extra cleaning near the changing room. It's terrible to see some old timers(Guys above 60-70) sometimes walking to the urinals naked before they shower and taking a leak then casually walking around while leaking urin/pee around the changing room. It's unsanitary and pretty disgusting. This happens rarely but still. It must be stopped somehow. Parking is definitely not as bad as people claim here to be so. Many customers are just lazy and want a spot near by. There are plenty of them. Lastly, I took one star away because I still believe that the gym should have at least 1-2 scales around the gym for anyone interested in weighing themselves. It's defensively a must. read more

I have a planet fitness 'black card' so I can go to different locations when I travel. I'm a student so the reason I like planet fitness is the cheap price and convenience. The staff at the Natick planet fitness are super friendly and awesome compared to the others I've been at. They are very chill. Not the cleanest or most up to date location. I also don't think they follow all the proper protocols as far as cleaning because I haven't seen them clean like I have in the other locations. Everyone that goes to this location for the most part cleans after themselves and wears a mask. I am a female, and I have had some strange older men stare and come up to me when working out at this location which was definitely uncomfortable. Really wish they had more free weights and barbells but you get what you pay for. Other than that, it's a great location! read more
