I work out here 5-6 days a week, mostly free weights, cables, smith machine and I'm happy my the experience most of the time. I don't use cardio machines all that much (just to warm up usually) but they always look busy. Everything is always very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the manager is dedicated and involved. My biggest complaint is the LACK OF FANS. It's not too hot usually but the air doesn't move at all. The massage chairs and hydromassage are a nice perk for Black Card members. They also have the hybrid tanning stall here, offering red light therapy, as well as lots of other tanning beds. I've visited a lot of other Planet Fitness locations from FL to NYC to ADK and this is the second best one I've been to. I'd give it 5 stars if they installed some fans. read more

Don't recommend. Was asking questions regarding bringing a guest on the black membership card. Was extremely rude and kept threatening to kick me out. I've contacted the manager, her herself was the one saying "if I catch you in there you both risk losing your memberships." I'm a minor. When I first came an employee named Brianna said I was allowed in the spa area and just couldn't use the tanning. Now recently I was brought back and someone argued w me saying bc im a minor I can't go in the room at all. I would've understood that but the way she had said it was RUDE (the gym manager). read more

I think it's bullshit this planet fitness isn't 24/7 when all the other planet fitness' are. I live in Oswego and it's incredibly inconvenient that I have to drive all the way out to the north Syracuse location because this one closes at 7pm on the weekends. I prefer to workout at night time and I like this location but the hours are ridiculous. Even closing at 10 pm during the week sucks. Can someone tell me why this location has such restricted hours when the others don't? Please becomes 24/7! read more

Planet Fitness has helped me manage my Multiple Sclerosis. I have thrown away my cane a few years ago thanks to working out. My balance has improved, my energy level boosted. I've gained strength back. My pain level on a daily basis has decreased cutting my meds for pain in 1/2. I look forward to my workouts, and seeing the friendly staff. I leave this review on behalf of all Planet Fitness's. Yes the monthly fee is actually quite a good deal for the access, however, in my area, and I am not sure about others, but the gym the gym's hours are not conducive to people working and wanting to go to the gym at the same time weekends/during the week, or for those (since this is a small county) coming from other parts of the county. Here are the GYM hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00 AM - 10:00 PM Friday 5:00 AM - 9:00 PM Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. In addition, they real you in and try to make you feel like no matter what size you are, or what shape you are, that you are welcome and free of judgment. Their billboard over the weights have an actual 'LUNK ALARM" that rings or someone can choose to ring if you drop the weights. The sign reads something like this 'a dude wearing a tank top and drinking a gallon water ball, LUNK- someone grunting and dropping the weights on the floor-what a LUNK!" Where people can feel free to ring the bell if they feel so offended. I am personally offended by this sign, however, as it is hung in a "judgment free zone". They even have a dress code, so that hot bodies don't show off? or why? Dress code that I remember from last I was there-no spaghetti straps, no tiny shorts, no men wearing tank tops...But, the whole shirtless/wear shoes/basically don't wear a thong or undies works for me and most people, but people have the right to exercise in comfort--i.e. shorts and a small tank over a sport's bra so you can work your ass off and sweat freely--just clean up your mess basically.. Planet Fitness lives in the middle ages: I went in to cancel my membership before the annual fee would incur (even though I had joined 3 months ago--as it comes out every May, instead of ONCE A YEAR depending on when you joined) and it was five days before the date it was supposed to come out of my account, but because of their system, the annual fee had already went through. --And don't even bother trying to cancel online or on the phone. They kept me on the phone and asked me for my birthday and full name, they felt the need to look me up, even though they knew I was wanting to cancel my membership because I am moving where there are better gyms (no I didn't say that), and they wasted my time getting my information then said "you can only cancel if you send a cancellation notice via CERTIFIED MAIL" or by walking in the gym. How middle ages are they? Planet fitness prides themselves on 'being you", they have pizza parties on Tuesdays to a place that helps overweight folks or ones trying to get back in shape. To pull the sarcasm note, having pizza on Tuesdays is like flaunting sugar for someone with diabetes int he hospital, or throwing raw animal meat at vegetarian lions and expecting them to remain cool. It;s just cruel and makes no sense. Why not offer them fruits and vegetables instead? I get that they are trying to be the "fun" club, but it's contradictory in nature and sends a poor message to people trying to get away from maybe certain life styles. I will leave ONE )semi)positive note on a few facts: -not a lot of wait time on machines (people don't use them very long) -can fill up water bottle there -wifi Sad facts: -No stairs -Heart rates on machines don't always work -wifi won't always work I am tired of backwards associations/programs/orgs that promote one thing but mean another. Planet Fitness is just another very American contradictory organization that in their attempt to make people feel good about themselves, help Americans feel better about their choices to exercise left often, sit more, watch TV more, and eat more pizza. Gym had a lot of equipment with NO wait times. Staff does a good job at keeping the main part of the gym clean and orderly. Equipment is very well maintained and always functioning. Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. Love that the women's locker room has two changing rooms for privacy. The only things I would add to my wish list is that they could clean the showers better and of course being open 24 hours would be great. Overall a nice place to workout! No real complaints. Nice gym, quiet area and clean. The staff is friendly and the equipment is well taken care of. The only thing I would like to have seen would be the showers having doors. It has a curtain and there is a separate dressing room across the way. For folks who are shy this could be a bit intimidating. Overall, still a nice place to go. read more

I left Stability Fitness to save a few bucks. At Planet Fitness, Not a single staff member showed me around or offered to assist me in any way. Place is too big and non-personal. I would rather pay more and have a better feeling about the place I'm at, knowing that the staff truly care about my health and fitness. Stability Fitness is the place to go. read more
