I could not have had better visits to a Planet Fitness than when I attended Superman Celebration in Metropolis! The Black Card is worth it if you travel. This location is so much better than any of the ones back in Chicago. It's well-lit, the staff were very friendly, and they have equipment none of my PF locations have back home, namely several of the Hammer Strength Motion Technology Selectorised (MTS) machines, the SciFit Upper Body Exercisers (don't laugh--they aren't just for old people), and I think I saw at least one rowing machine but unsure. They are also open 24/7, which a lot of PF locations aren't back home. The gym itself is clean, and I was impressed with how well the locker room--especially the lockers themselves--is maintained. I wish Chicago PF locations were this nice. I know a lot of people gripe about their home gym, but you don't know how poor a place is until you visit a better place elsewhere. read more

Just moved here from Phoenix, Az and let me tell ya, this gym in one of the best I've been to. Great customer service, machines are always in working order, and the equipment is ALWAYS being cleaned. This is my first time ever being a member with Planet Fitness and I am presently surprised with the Paducah location, glad to call it my home gym! read more

Staff was very friendly and professional. The facilities are clean and well maintained.

Visiting as I travel cross-country. Clean, fully staffed with at least four people (!) and at least one of everything I wanted to use. Yes, I noticed the 7 minute massage as well and wished for the usual 10 minutes. Believe it or not I have been to places where 20 is default and one that was 5 minutes! I dropped PF for a couple years over my home club doing the 5 minute default. So with that in mind, and that it isn't my home club I'll forgive the slight. read more

I normally never rate a gym but this one hit different. I have never seen so much activity and cleaning of equipment by staff! Any Planet Fitness should take notes and promote whomever is the manager of this location, as well as their hard working staff. Staff were using the portable vacuum, washing everything, weights were all put back but by far the jaw dropping sight I saw was staff with a paint brush dusting between free weights and then vacuumed again! This is a minor complaint overall, when the club itself seems cleaner and better functioning overall than some locations I've been to, but here's the thing: If you pay the higher membership so you can use multiple locations, you really expect a similar experience at each location. I would like to know WHY this location very pettily only gives 7 minutes on the hydromassage beds, when every other location I've used in GA, AL, and NC give you 10. It seems like a minor inconvenience because it is, but when I've asked for some extra time at this location, I've gotten every response from "okay but you have to be on bed (xyz don't know which) for extra time" "yes, but you have to come out and ask us for a second session" to "absolutely not, we never do that". I have health issues that cause back pain and knee pain, so the hydro beds are very therapeutic for me and enable me to keep trying to improve my health by working out. I have never asked at peak times, and I just wonder why they would be so cheap with their time. It makes absolutely no sense for them to contradict each other and also WHY on earth they'd give you less time than any other location. Based on other reviews here, this seems to be just a small part of other issues, but it would really help explaining why this is a "thing" here, or better yet, just getting in line with other locations and offering a full 10 minutes. read more

If u don't mind getting what u pay for (and $10/month doesn't buy much), then join by all means. Be ready for ellipticals that don't function properly and that PF won't fix ( going on two years now of me trying to get them to but I have given up), A TV package from Direct TV that is terrible, a staff that doesn't enforce any rules that a lot of their clientele love to break, and germs galore as I personally have never witnessed any staff actually spraying disinfectant and cleaning equipment. On a good day they'll dust and vacuum a little. Otherwise, it's a great gym, not. read more

People sit at stations using phone and conducting Bullsh!t sessions, which are fully endorsed by the management. Many use the weight section to circuit train, reserving stations that they are rotating through instead of using the dedicated circuit training area. Have gone to gyms since the 70's and when stations start to get monopolized to the point that regular members have to spend more and more time waiting to finish their routines it is the death knell for the gym. Gyms that work enforce respect and courtesy in allowing members to get their routines done in a quick and efficient manner. If they want to encourage social gatherings they need to open a bar, not a gym. read more

This business operates essentially as a scam. Once you sign up, it is practically impossible to cancel your membership. Not only that, there is no way to simply remove their authotization to charge your card. They make money by advertising low rates, then charging 5x that once a year and making it virutally impossible to cancel. Absoluely ridiculous. read more

Great value for the average individual wanting to either obtain or maintain a general healthy lifestyle. It is not set up to satisfy the needs of heavy weight body builders. I find the environment welcoming and free of any type of fat shaming or discrimination. Again, for the average person, both membership options, either $10/mo. or $20/mo. are extremely economical. I find it refreshing to see a gym set up that sets its members up for success - low monthly payment, no contract, and a judgment free exercise environment. I highly recommend this gym. There are other gyms in the area, offering more hard-core/heavy weight options if desired... Just be prepared for lengthy contracts and higher monthly payments... read more
