This location is very clean and as with all Planet Fitness is you get your bang for your buck very rarely do I see any equipment down and if so, they are usually pretty quick to fix it. I would like to see the women's restroom a little cleaner. I love the various machines that they have that you can use the infrared red machine and I like to get the massage after my workout for a treat! Thus I highly recommend this location.! read more

I came here with my daughter the other day for the first time in hopes of having a good time getting some exercise in and there was an extremely rude young lady working behind the desk. Whenever we needed help with anything or had a few questions she had an incredibly bad attitude. she would even pretend not to hear us and sit on her phone behind the counter. From June till August the gym use is free for school aged children. This maybe a great idea if it is supervised correctly. But its not, the young kids are sitting on the equipment using there cell phone and not allowing regular members to use the machines. The staff needs to stop this behavior by walking around and talking to them. It is not fair to the other members. They also stay in clusters of 4 or 5 blocking the use of the equipment. There are plenty of staff at the Malabar location to do this, but it seems they rather stay behind the front desk then correct this poor behavior. They are using Planet Fitness as a meeting place and not a place to exercise. I hope this situation improves but have little confidence that it will, unless someone reads this and does something about it. The majority of the members feel the same. read more

For more than three years, I've been a member at many gyms in hopes to at least keep my health optimal. I first started out with Youfit simply because it was near where I used to live. More recently, I was a part of LA Fitness because there was one located where I worked at Melbourne Square Mall. And I might quite possibly be able to check out the Healthfirst Gym just East of Holmes Regional Medical Hospital because of work yet again. However, there is one gym I consider to be the most convenient out of all of them and it is Planet Fitness. For this review, it will be the one located in Palm Bay. At one time, it was inferior compared to the one in Melbourne. Now it is definitely the one I prefer to go to over the one I used to call home for so long. Located in the same shopping center where the new Palm Bay theater is, Planet Fitness follows the same mantra as other branches. Everyone is welcome, no judgment, and Black Card members can get discounts on certain drinks, Nike products, and use "spa" services. Ergo, I cannot utilize such for this review as all Planet Fitness branches have such. What makes this Planet Fitness different from the other within Brevard County is the newer equipment and the fact the internet works. I know it seems a bit shallow to want newer equipment and internet, but I do use the Planet Fitness app and I want to make sure all of my progress is saved. Also, newer equipment means I can have an optimal workout. If I am working out with crap, does that equate to a workout that is crap too? The only gripe I now have with Planet Fitness in general is that the Black Card membership is now more expensive by $2. I don't know what happened but it annoys me that it is now $21 over $19.99. I've been a member at this location for 10 years. Ever since the reopening after the renovation a few years ago this facility is consistently dirty and unkempt. Every single time I am there I find wads of toilet paper all over the bathroom floor, filthy toilets, and sometimes no toilet paper at all in the dispensers. The sink area counters are constantly wet and the sinks clogged with hair and pieces of paper towel etc. The water fountain has had the same bright pink lipstick mark around the actual drinking part for about a year! Take a look for yourself and you'll see it! It's as if someone put their mouth directly around the faucet. The trash cans are also stuffed and overflowing every day. Every time I am there, there's a staff member behind the counter with their nose in their phone who can't even be bothered to look up and acknowledge you when you walk in. I'm not expecting the staff to shower me with attention, but it's common courtesy to look at someone and acknowledge them. I even understand that staff members could get busy with the daily operations of the facility but it's not like they're cleaning or restocking the supplies either! As I mentioned I have been a member here for a long time and I used to always see staff members cleaning and wiping down the counters and minding the facility. What happened?! It's like no one gives a crap and there's no repercussions. I can't possibly be the only one who has noticed. read more

This gym sux for anyone wanting free weights.. don't drop those weights down even a little hard... The alarm will sound... Just paid a 40$ annual fee for annual upkeep. Wow!! Beware most gyms are only about 25$. Elite Fitness is way better with classes, and 24 hr. Access.. at only 25.$ per. Month..Planet has no classes and a 40$ annual gym maintenance f ee. Avoid Planet Fitness at all cost... Or it will cost you more than most gyms who actually offer more.....Ripped Off!!!!! Geno--personal trainer... After graciously and quickly being helped to join the Planet Fitness family I am suddenly not important to them any longer. After working out one day my friend and I asked for help on a particular machine. We were told we had to sign up for a class. So we signed up for the following day. The next day we go for our class only to find out they made a mistake and had signed us up for the previous day. The young man helping us was the one to give the class. Now he has nothing available but if we wish to pay him $100 per hour he can set another time for us. Because after all "he's in this to make money". I can't tell you how upset I was. So now I feel as though all I can do is go to the gym to use the treadmill as I don't know how to use the other machines. The gym is clean and very nice. For that I would give give stars. The staff however wouldn't even get a one. ps: It wasn't for lack of staff. There were no less than four people behind the desk the entire time we were there. We waited about 15 minutes after our workout as they said there would be a different class that might help us. The young man who couldn't help us was doing nothing but goofing off. For the price, this is a good gym. If you're looking for more one on one attention or a facility with premium amenities then this isn't the place. PF is perfect for anyone looking to maintain fitness who is on a schedule and a budget. This facility is relatively clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and not intrusive. A con of this facility has more to do with patrons than the staff or facility itself: some of the patrons do more resting than working out with some of the equipment. With the current and temporary "free" membership for HS students, there are more people at peak workout times which can be a hinderance for those who just want to workout: PF is slowly becoming a teenage social club in which kids gaggle and tie-up equipment. I think the promotion is a great marketing tool to target those students who want to workout, but the length of the entire summer is a way too long. read more

I was very discouraged 1st day when unfriendly worker said noone can show me around or how to use machines although 2 employees stood around at the desk area chatting. I asked again after she pointed to the area with lockers and she walked and pointed to different areas,i.e. here's the weights, treadmills, bikes, etc. but no help. I tried to figure out some machines, then went to treadmill and back home 15 mins later. I was in no way motivated to ever come back but found a neighbor who goes so she showed me machines. I took 30 min class from trainer (Alonzo is great) which I liked but everytime I go, someone uses the machines and interferes with the routine. I cancelled my membership after a year because I moved away. Having a year contract means having an early termination fee of $58 for trying to cancel early. So I waited the full year and cancelled. Then I found out that because I didn't pay the $58 and cancel early, I had to pay $41 for an annual membership fee. See the catch 22 there? I would avoid the headache at all cost, especially with Elite Fitness and Anytime Fitness up the street. read more

ab machines moved to the stupidest place in the building. You have to squeeze in between other machines to even get on the machine. Once you lay down you are blinded by not one but TWO florescent lights burning right into your eyes. there are spaces away right along the same wall, away from the lights that the machines could go- you are laying flat on your back you cannot avoid the glare,..... when asked about it I was told "we can't move the machines, corporate says where to put them. If we move them we get fined" Well is corporate going out to see if their decisions work for the customer?????????? so inconsiderate! read more
