Would rather go to the Reynoldsburg location. Have gone a couple times, and the staff seems to be bothered by people walking in. The 30 minute cycle area was taken over by people not doing the circuit and just sitting on their phones. In addition, virtually none of them cleaned the equipment when done. Her real and is Eden. She told me she would need to transfer my membership in order to have it cancelled. This was after she told me I had to send in a letter to my gym in Florida to have it cancelled. Because of the confusion. I asked to speak to a manger. She spoke with Tim Devoe. He then called the gym as I was walking away to workout. He proceeds to tell me that I don't understand what I signed because if I did. I'd know because it's been over 90 days. I can't transfer my membership.. I informed him that it was his employee that he hired that told me that information.. I just wanted my membership cancelled.. He starts talking very condescending to me. So I hung up the phone. Didn't need to hear his voice. I came to cancel and workout. They called the police and lied to them saying they asked me to leave and refused to do so... Causing 3 police officers to come in making a scene. This place is trash. Eden is a Karen. And Tim is a liar. That lied to the police to try to have me in a situation that could have easily escalated. I will be contacting who ever is above Tim to get more details. But. Please be aware that if you ever have to cancel you have to physically go to your home gym location. They won't process the cancellation anywhere else. Also if it's past the 10th of the month then they will make you pay for an entire additional month even if they have not yet charged your bank account for that month. Gym equipment is good but business practices are awful. read more

I love Planet Fitness for the same reasons others do: The great membership price and 'any time' cancellation. $10 / month will grant you 24-hour access. $20 / month for membership with the privilege of bringing any (one) guest, any and every time you visit. It also gets you discounts on drinks, paraphernalia, etc. You can also use any of their special devices like the massage chair/bed. You also get access to any Planet Fitness in the network, as a Black Card ($20) member. They have a "no gymtimidation" policy which you'll want to read up on, but in a nutshell, it's designed to make anyone feel comfortable while working out. On the downside, they don't have a swimming pool, sauna, various nautilus devices or even scales. I do the pleasant staff members I've met over the years and the fact they're open, 24 hours a day, so for the money, it's well-worth it. read more

The Pickerington facility is fancy and like 4 times as large as my local one. They have fresh flowers in the ladies locker room every day and I've never had trouble working into a machine or grabbing weights I need despite coming during peak times. The staff is really nice. read more

On 11/30/21 approximately between 620 pm and 715 pm I was treated very unprofessional by a staff member of Planet Fitness at your Pickerington OH location. The staff on duty who stated she was the manager shouted at me while I was walking in saying that I needed to pull up my mask.  I looked back at her and said she was being extra, meaning over the top and verbally aggressive towards me.  I laughed and pulled my mask up over my nose. Suddenly this staff member left from behind the counter walking in an aggressive manner and walked towards me invading my personal space.  When I turned around she began to yell at me telling me it was the policy and that I needed to follow it.  I asked her why she was  in my face and she continued to be verbally aggressive and told me to lower my tone.  I laughed and responded by saying there was nothing wrong with my tone and that my voice is very deep so there was nothing that I could do to change that.  She continued to be verbally aggressive and I asked why she was still talking to me about the mask and it was on my face and over my nose.  She demanded that I had to leave and I said for what, I did not do anything and I was not leaving. She stated that she bet I would be leaving and I walked away and went to the treadmill.   While walking on the Treadmill I Suddenly was surrounded by 4 Pickerington police officers so I stopped the treadmill and got off to speak with them.  They explained that I had to leave because of not wearing a mask, I obliged and exited the building The level of unprofessional I experienced from this young lady was completely unacceptable and a poor representation of Planet Fitness. I was embarrassed and very disappointed by this whole ordeal.  It was blown out of proportion and poorly handled by your staff.  The part that mentally disturbs me the most is the fact that she placed my care and concern in jeopardy.   With the racial tension in this country between black men and police officers I was afraid of how badly this situation could have gone over something so minor.  I don't even feel comfortable going back to that location and its messed up to be placed in this position because that is my home gym and my membership is basic. At this point I need to know if this location is privately owned by a franchise owner or if this is covered by corporate.I need to speak to somebody over this building Because the overall management there is very unprofessional. My wife called yesterday morning and spoke with the GM initially she said she knew nothing about the incident but as the conversation continued that's the conversation continued she eventually let out that the lady on duty that evening called the non emergency line. My wife asked,  I thought you didn't know anything about the incident which basically caught her in a lie. As the GM I would never have expected this type of behavior and lack of accountability for the incident that occurred the previous evening and also leads to me not being trusted enough things being handled in an appropriate fashion. I look forward to hearing from somebody to discuss this matter, to come up with a resolution because I was treated unfairly and this whole thing was totally unnecessary, I hope that young lady can receive some training or be held accountable to some degree because that's poor management regardless of what I say and she should have never left behind that counter and approach me and then aggressive fashion. read more

This place is okay if you're looking to just stay active and in shape. It's very clean, bright, and has tons of cardio equipment if you are into cardio. They have only 1 leg press, 3 smith machines, and a bunch of weight machines that you can use. This isn't the place for you if you're really into weight lifting doing compound movements like squats, dead lifts, bench press, etc. This place is kind of a joke because they have pizza nights, bagel nights, and have tootsie roll candy everywhere!! What I disliked about Planet Fitness is that the weight area was always crowded. People always hogged the benches when they weren't even using them and I think because it's so cheap ($10/month) kids could afford it and would use it as a social area -_-...... I've only been here a couple months but I'm cancelling my membership because I'm looking for something more. read more

It's a gym that's mainly cardio equipment and some weights. It caters to women and elderly. Any serious male athletes beware no flat bench, no free weight squat rack, no making any noise. Only use is doing cardio, and dumbbell exercises either very late at night, and early in the morning. Don't even bother coming during peak hours, all equipment will be in use. Staff is friendly. In summary this gym is weak as hell for serious workout enthusiast/ athletes. But women , elderly , obese ppl who enjoy walking on treadmills wearing jeans will love it. read more

For the price it can't be beat. They keep it very clean. I used to go to Life Time Fitness Easton and yet I don't feel like I'm missing out. I only have two suggestions. One- it seems like when equipment is broken, it takes a looong time for it to be fixed. And the other would be a rule against campers. Every time I have wanted to use the butterfly machine it is taken. And for some reason it is always by people who are chatting, texting and doing anything but actually using it. I saw a couple last week for the entire time I was on the bike (30 minutes) hog the machine. With as many people who go especially this time of year- that's not okay. Granted it would be nice if people didn't have to be told proper manners- but in this day and age it seems par for the course. read more

I usually go to the PF in Clintonville (when I remember/have the motivation), and let me tell you, this PF was gorgeous compared to the other one. Everything looked super shiny and new and there weren't mirrors all over the place so I could constantly see how fat I am (I mean, they only need those in the weight area, right?!). The locker rooms were spacious and not dingy and I wish this were my home PF even if the area looks a little seedy. If you're not familiar with PF, here's the rundown: it's super cheap ($10-20/month), which means it's popular, so it's better to go during off hours. As far as I know, they're all open 24/7, so that makes finding "off hours" much easier! The rule is "no judgments." It's not a super srs gym where you see weight lifters showing off their pecs or whatever it is they do, just folks trying to stay in shape on a budget. Machine-wise: lots of treadmills, stationary bikes (both upright and recumbent), stair and elliptical machines. Then a full range of weight machines, including the ones for dummies where it basically forces you into the right position (that's what I need). They have a circuit that is supposed to give you an amazing 30-minute workout. They offer classes on how to use all the stuff in the gym and personal training sessions (I think it's one with a basic membership and unlimited with a black membership, but don't quote me, ok?). If you want to avoid the experience Jared C. had, make sure you know in advance that a black membership requires a year commitment and there is a cancellation fee if you leave early. The basic membership doesn't have that; when my husband and I canceled our basic memberships before, we paid no fees and everything went smoothly. All of that was explained to me directly by the gym employees both times I signed up for membership. read more

This PF is well-stocked and at least when I go there are lots of treadmills open. The front desk people are always kind and never fail to wish me a good day. The Wifi is strong and the fans keep the place cool. If only all PFs would get rid of Faux News then I would love them even more. But since they're out here in hicksville (15 minutes but a world away from Columbus!), I guess they have to cater to their clientele. read more

In general, I really like the Planet Fitness franchises - 24/7 access, lots of equipment and machines, a fair amount of available trainers and workouts if needed, and the "judgement free zone" policy is really good for someone trying to get into shape but feeling intimidated about going to the gym. The Pickerington location is the nearest to my apartment, and I don't really have many complaints, but it's just a bit out of the way, and not always as convenient as I like when I want a quick workout. read more

I was attracted to the cheap prices, but the huge issues are that it's extremely crowded during regular hours, and has limited equipment, there were multiple times I had workouts planned and came in only to not really be able to do what I planned but couldn't because I could hardly get in a treadmill or even get through the crowd in the very little free weights they have. Not to mention that dreadful, obnoxious siren that sounds when someone drops weights, or is to loud. After a couple weeks I politely asked to cancel my membership and just paid for money for a better gym at lifetime. Great start up gym for just about anyone! The "judgement free" aspect does hold true. Not a lot of socializing goes on and most people keep to themselves. The staff is helpful and always greets and says goodbye. About half the gym is cardio, with lots of treadmills. There are assisted and free weights, it seems to be the gym rats who hang out in the free weights. There's a 30 minute work our center for short, pre-planned workouts. the 12 minute abs section is okay. It's more of an 8 minute ab workout with 4 minutes of stretching. I haven't ever used the tanning beds or massages they offer to black card members, but a few of my friends have and loved the perks. The tanning beds are new so using them on a normal setting will probably burn you. I'm a 17 year old girl and I've been going since I was 15. It really is an atmosphere for anyone: young, old, in shape, getting back into shape, marathon runners (my mom trains, all you need is a treadmill!), anyone! The location is a huge plus too, just don't be tempted to skip on over to Papa Johns right after your workout. read more

Can I get a treadmill? The answer is probably not. $10 a month is awesome, but it doesn't help me if I get to the gym and it is so busy I can't even get to the equipment I wanted to use. My car was struck by another car while I was working out. I spoke with the store manager and he refuses to provide footage of the parking lot without a subpoena. I have a police report and showed one of his assistant managers the damages after it happened. Planet Fitness only cares about your money not your safety. read more

Great Gym however terrible experience... My wife and I had to cut back on finances so we let them know we needed to cancel our membership but planned to come back in a few months. We had to pay a $60 cancel fee and then pay $21.50 for that month's gym fee and then they told us we can't come back. So basically I paid for a months gym membership on top of my cancellation fee yet I can't actually enjoy the month I paid for. There are way to many other gyms in the area. I won't be returning here that is for sure. read more

They have been charging me for TWO Black Card memberships. I asked for someone to look into my case as there would not be any need to have 2 black card memberships. I already had a Black Card membership which allows me to go to any PF in the area. I also don't see how does that benefit anyone other than Planet Fitness. I asked for them to rectify this situation. I also don't think that just because I had a extra $25 in my account each month doesn't make Planet Fitness entitled to it. Hence the statement from a staff member " you hadn't noticed it until now". It is still my money. I wasn't asking to cancel both accounts ( at least not yet). I was merely asking to cancel the membership to the Pickerington location and refund my money from that duplicate account. Again, there is no way one person could use 2 Black Card memberships. I have been being charged for annual membership fees as well as monthly fees.  I have already tried to reason with the staff at which was very frustrating. I was told it was my fault although they acknowledge there is no way for me to use 2 Black Card memberships. There is so many things wrong with this. If you can tell my account is inactive then you should be able to tell that there was more than one. At no time did anyone see that 2 accounts come up and had any sense of integrity and look into it. If you know it is not possible to use a 2nd membership why not refund it. PF isn't a non-profit charity organization. Also, IF I did sign up for a 2nd membership ( which I don't believe I did) I had to be told that the one that I had wasn't found or inactive. Prior to going to that location I hadn't been to the gym in almost 6 months. It is a mess and I am disappointed that an establishment like this would lack business integrity, professionalism and be thieves. read more

I went as a guest with my best girlfriend Becky. We're definitely needed to get started with working out. So, we were not really greeted and no one showed us the place. Also, not one person seemed interested in having me become a member. We were there an hour and had a great time working on self improvement. So, for the total experience, my friend wanted is to try the massage chairs. Yet, because I was only a guest, I was told I could not use the chair. This was surprising to me because you want people to have the 'total' experience. So, my friend says, 'if she can't use them, then never mind ', and we left. I love my friend to death!! She rocks. Her strength and righteousness is amazing. I may never sign up with this company but maybe I will. If I do, I hope to be the change for the better for this gym and company. Was told multiple times memebership would auto expire after 12 months with the black card , it's been 2 months and i was charged both times along with the annual fee, I called today to find out otherwise about it automatically expiring that I need to come in and do it myself, there will be no defund for the $62 total that was taken. Great place love it ! I have been to 4 other planet fitness places and my favorite one is in Gahanna only because it has the 360 area with the ropes and the TRX bands . Pickerington is closer to me so only when I work I go to Gahanna. I do like the fact that you don't have to worry about those people coming In who are trying to show off that they can lift 300 pounds and drop weights I think that stuff is ridiculous . There is average people there just like yourself from all types of cultures and backgrounds. So if you are a muscle head that likes to show off your muscles that no one really cares to see or likes to drop weights because you can't hold them long enough to set them down easy then please don't come to planet fitness because I sure don't want to see you there lol. read more

Ladies Locker room has steadily going down hill. At 5 in the morning obvious it has not been cleaned. I am a regular but am thinking about changing gyms. It's cheap and has a good shower set up. Besides that it's not really a gym to workout at. There' no bench press, squat rack, or free weights. It's always super crowded even when I go there at 5:30 AM. And the AC is usually set to the low 60's. If all you do is jog on a treadmill then this is place is fine. read more

Went this past Saturday to simply tan. I was asked to update the tanning card, which was fine. However, It took them 25 minutes to find it because they were not in alphabetical order. Said they have new management. So I just stood there. Then after that I forgot my goggles. I have borrowed goggles for over 1.5 years now. I was told that I couldn't have them unless I gave them my car keys. I was beyond pissed at this point. I am not giving the keys to my car to a couple kids at the front desk. My car was parked out front close to the door because the lot was empty. My car has keyless remote, not to mention it's a 62,000 car. I had my personal belongings in it as well. I didn't feel comfortable giving complete strangers my keys. I was told I couldn't tan, and they really could care less. When I signed my contract it didn't state anything about surrendering my keys to use a 5 dollar pair of goggles. I went to the Newark location and talked with the person on duty. They were blown away. Gave me the number to district manager and Corporate. Come tomorrow morning I will be making a couple telephone calls. I pay monthly for my services. I don't need the bullshit, and young kids telling me what I can't do. One location decides to make changes. Well update your contract! This review is for the Pickerington Planet Fitness. I have no issues with either Canal or Newark. They both operate and run the same. read more

This place is a really good deal. I pay $20/ month and get tanning, massage, bring my husband for free. Also, it's nice to go to a place and it not feel competitive. the manager of this location (jenny) has a real attitude problem and cant really seem to speak to customers in the proper way. Same issue with the staff at this location. some are nice but others are rude and dont get the concept that when a customer is speaking, you dont talk over them because you think that you already know what the question is. gym is fine, the staff is not. read more

I have been using this gym for about 2 months now and totally recommend it! The facility is clean and well equipped for my needs. It is also cheap and open 24 hours, which works wonderfully with my schedule. I always go in the evening or during the night when there isn't a crowd and no wait to use some equipment. The staff is very friendly and personable as well. It's nice to have a gym I can go to anytime of the day that doesn't break my wallet. read more

Staff is nice and i think they understand that the policy is crap. At Christmas i signed up for a one time payment and paid $99 for the year. Planet Fitness sends in the mail a chance to upgrade to a black card however they will not accept total payment upfront and require access to your checking account. You obviously can take payment in full for the entire contract as you did at Christmas. So if i want to pay you all of your money up front not monthly why wouldnt you sell me your product. What reason do you have for needing into my checking account if i pay the entire price of the contract upfront. Just seems like all the other fitness centers like Balleys who once you give them access, trying to get it stopped is hell. Dont send out upgrades to those who you allowed to pay in advance and then say you can pay for the 10 a month upfront but not the upgraded black card. Just makes it look like you want more then just your payment. So that is the reason for my poor review. Wont give access to my account and for those willing to pay it all upfront let them. You can tell that the staff think the same thing and shake their heads but say It is the policy of the company. read more
