I finally started with one of their 6-week intensive programs. The classes are mostly really good. Kat is a great instructor, and Carly is also helpful, but another instructor who has since left did not share form or really demo much at all. The 6-week program had a reward of a travel voucher, and I did all the classes without missing, plus I checked in weekly on their fat measurement machine, and I didn't get the prize. I'm not sure exactly why that was, but I figured I still wanted to get healthier even without the prize. A year later, I keep finding out what exactly my membership entails. For example apparently I could have had one on one coaching sessions. That's never presented to you at the start. I had to ultimately join through an email exchange even after the 6-week program. It's a really well laid out gym, and the prices are super fair. A friend who joined as a guest told me these classes are a lot like cross fit but a little less intense. That was what he told me about the large group class he tried. I think it's a good spot either for classes or to do your own lifts or cardio, and it's never too busy. So in the end if you stay persistent, and chase down the owner/staff to get registered, you can have a great gym membership!

I heard about Orangetheory Fitness when they first opened but the price just got to me at first. Then I went for my first class with Hannah B and was enticed afterwards. I was actually seeing results from my workout. Some of these other gyms I went to, the trainer shows up late then gives you half the time for your workout without concentrating on what your goals are. Here at Orangetheory Fitness the trainers are very dedicated to helping everyone reach their goals, in a comfortable and safe environment to workout. They will even adjust your workout if you have any injuries, etc going on, which I love because some of the other gyms didn't do that for me, which wound me up with an injury. The goal at Orangetheory is to be in the green, orange and red zones for at least 12 minutes. Coach Dee Dee is great at making sure you get there! She even has a killer playlist every time I come for her classes! What I love about this gym compared to the others is I get a variety of workouts. Such as weights, treadmill, and rowers. My other gym it was treadmill or nothing. I need variety to get my muscles going and heart rate up. Speaking of heart rate, if you wear the heart rate monitor it will track your progress on the TV screens throughout the class! How cool is that? We didn't have that at my other gyms! The drop in fee is $28 which is reasonable and there are class packages, as well as memberships. My schedule is pretty busy and when I came home and was excited about it my husband bought a treadmill the next day which came with an IFIIT membership that I have been trying the different classes so I have not been back but I do think I will at some point because it was a great workout and different from what I am used to. I definitely recommend if you are struggling with motivation and looking to try something new!

I have been an SOSer for 5 years now. Which makes it shocking that I'm just now getting around to…read morewriting review, especially since I'm such a mega-fan! I first heard about SOS from a few folks when I worked at L Brands. They had a few loyal customers with whom I worked. To be honest, I was a little intimidated when I'd see these folks post about their workouts on social media. I had thought about trying it circa 2017, but was too intimidated (my loss!). But in 2019, I ended up with a stress fracture while marathon training. I was able to barely finish my training for the NYC Marathon, which I did successfully complete in November 2019. But at that point, it was evident that I couldn't just keep running marathons without incorporating strength training into my routine. So in Christmas Week 2019, I started with the 7 class starter pack just to try it out. My first class was The Course with Kelsey. I felt comfortable because I knew Kelsey from work and luckily a few other co-workers happened to be in the class as well. I still remember during the warm up, I was thinking "dang this is tough!" And Kelsey even said "Much different than running a marathon, right Chelsea?!" She couldn't have been more spot on! I ended up feeling like the class was super tough but I was paired up with a coworker who was so supportive and kind (thank you, Shideh, if you're reading this!). By the time my 7 class pass was up, I was hooked and became a monthly member. I even joined Team Tread (their half & full marathon training program) in January to start training for the Nashville Half in April 2020. Unfortunately for me, my SOS morning routines were abruptly halted in March 2020. But luckily, my team tread registration got me into the "digital studio" which I had no idea what it was at the time. I very quickly uncovered that it's all the same studio instructors and they have recorded classes with new uploads almost daily as well as a huge library of online classes (which as you can imagine has only grown in the past 5 years). I did what everyone else was doing and immediately ordered as many dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to build up a "home SOS studio" and my equipment has been growing ever since. I moved to Arizona in summer 2021, and have continued to be a dedicated Digital Studio user and advocate. Whenever I come home to Ohio (whether Cbus or Cincy), I get giddy at the thought of going to classes in person and it's a treat to choose which classes I'll take and with which instructors. I got married in June 2024 and I purchased the "Badass Bride" classes on the Digital Studio. As I was taking them and leaving comments the owner, Gretchen, messaged me and said she wanted to send me an SOS wedding gift. You'd never believe how touched I was to see a SOS tank, hoodie, sweat towel and t-shirt show up the week of my wedding. I'm still so honored by these thoughtful gifts. Someone I've never even met in person (which is hard to believe given how obsessed I am with SOS lol!) went out of their way to make my wedding week all the more special. I can honestly say SOS Digital Studio has helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel like I personally know all of the trainers (I don't have social media anymore, but when I did, I followed all of them, so again, felt like I kew them personally). When I was in Hawaii for my wedding, SO many people were asking me about my arms and complimenting me. I kept trying to tell them about the DS and how special SOS is. I will always be a dedicated and loyal fan. It's become such a part of my routine that I'm on Christas Break now with my husband in Kansas (where he's from) and I've brought my ankle weights, light weights and loop bands just so I can get some classes in. Thank you, Gretchen and team for helping me be the best version of myself every day! Can't imagine what I'd do without the DS and my SOS training crew! (Only word of advice to newbies- the System DOES work! Don't skip out on any classes. As you can imagine, being a marathon runner, I favored all of the cardio classes. But it wasn't until I really started incorporating High & Tight as I prepared for my wedding that I noticed the chiseled arms that I'd always wanted. It's a well-rounded program that works wonders as long as you incorporate ALL of the classes).

The class itself was ok - it's under infrared so I got a decent sweat but I'm not sure the workout itself was as hard as my sweat would lead you to believe (no second day soreness). The instructor said it was a old class layout they tried to revamp so I'd be willing to give it another shot but the overall format/moves felt like they were trying to do too much and less cohesive. Independent, certified personal trainers first establish a business relationship with Training Grounds by leasing / renting time. Training grounds provides the equipment, facilities, building and maintenance for personal trainers where they can provide training sessions. Your access to the facility is through your personal trainer and their relationship with Training Grounds. In other words, you would simply come into this location to work out independently 3 to 5 times a week as you might at another gym. As a client for one of the personal trainers here, you do pay a nominal $10 monthly fee for the key tag that provides you access to the facility for your training sessions. Training Grounds has typical workout equipment that you find at most gyms. The facility is broken down into trainer "pods" where you much of your personal training session happens. They also have different common stations for cardio and larger cable or cybex machines that your trainer may use for your training session. There is also a men's and women's locker room available for clients. Staff have been helpful here. Pretty casual atmosphere. Been really pleased with the independent personal trainer that I have been working. Definitely enjoying working with my personal trainer at that Training Grounds.

The contract states if you cancel within 30 days of a NEW subscription you will be issued a refund. My good people the manager canceled my subscription the 21st of March and never issued a refund. She's dodged my calls and FINALLY sent me a email back not including the 30 days refund policy for new members and also advised since it's been 30 days my contract is no longer in the system.. I don't think that would hold up in court that documentation I signed feb 28th is not there. If you don't need to cancel you may be fine, but if ANYTHING happens you probably should just go through your bank.
