Planet Fitness in Plainfield Indiana. This just just like any other planet fitness out there. They have all the workout equipment, the tanning beds, locker rooms etc. They do have a parking lot and it's free parking for guest. My visit was on Monday July 10, 2023. As you get to the planet fitness. You just see a bunch of restaurants and stores around since it's right next to the outlet mall. As you enter, You are greeted by staff members and you check in with your card or app to enter the gym. The desk is on the left. You have all the weights on your right, cardio is in the middle, abs and stretching area in the back. You have your Locker rooms in the middle of the gym on the left. It's really easy to navigate through the gym since it's a little planet fitness and just a complete cycle. You shouldn't get lost. The locker rooms are very small. Only handful of lockers in the area. The staff members was good. As soon I walked into the building. They both greeted me and said "Welcome to planet fitness" It kinda shocked me because I am not used to that with other gyms I have been to. I really felt welcome but at the end when I was leaving. They changed the staff members and didn't say bye or have a nice day. I even took my ear piece out to be respectful, just in case they did say something but looked like they was talking to other people so I just walked on out. (They was checking in, Just hanging out) I guess it depends on the staff on how you are greeted in the gym. The gym was clean. Clean as any gym can be. The bathrooms was very nice and clean. You can tell that they are really taking care of the gym with cleaning up and making sure it's not dirty. Very good job! I felt really safe at this gym. It's in a very nice area with a outlet mall right next door. When I was inside the gym. Everyone was just working out and doing what they need to do. It's a safe environment. I do recommend this planet fitness. I just wished that all staff members would be on the same page by greeting everyone and not just some staff members but what can you do. Your experience will be completely dependent on who is working the front desk. For some reason, today's front desk person kept the check-in scanner below, so there was a line of people waiting to check in. (They used to keep it on the counter for self-check in.) Checking in for the tanning bed was also an ordeal. After checking in, the guy said to come back in 10 minutes. When I came back, a line of people who had just come in the door got attended to first, although I had checked into the tanning bed first. He said at this point the wait would be 30 minutes, which makes no sense since the full time allowed to tan is 12 minutes. When my husband came and stood by my side, the guy changed the wait time to 3-5 minutes. At best, he was confused. But he seemed disingenuous. Bottom line, I wasted time today. However, this is not the case every time I go there! Sometimes it's a perfectly smooth process. Seems in 2026 they should come up with an updated system using their app to allow for a more efficient checking process. read more

I'm a big gym goer (I know... not a word). At different times, I've wanted different things from my gym. At this point in time, I need a place I can go in between sales calls to make sure I get a workout in. This is the Planet Fitness I frequent the most. The staff is friendly, they have tons of cardio equipment, and offer all of the fabulous black card amenities. I'd not recommend this gym for competitive lifters, those looking for the best tanning beds ever, or those looking to create gym friends. All of which I've wanted in a gym at different times of my exercising life. This is a great gym at a great price for the get in and get out work out. read more

Just singed up recently and went today to excerise. Asked the staff about card access and I got the deer in the headlight look from the person at the desk, plus signed up for a person training session with one of the trainers, and well they have no trainers to offer. Just got told to use the app like everyone else. Being recent to coming back to this gym being out for about 3 years. Really hope they find a trainer(s) to help people. I going give this club a chance but if you offer something, just make sure you can offer it. read more

Best place ever. I'm a natural bodybuilder. Plenty of dumbbells, guided barbells, cables and tons of weight machines. Never very busy in the morning after 7:30am. Very friendly people. A few roided up bodybuilders especially one reviewer with a bad case of gyno-lol. Everyone else is great! Fun place to work out and you can't beat the price! read more

First of all, I'm kind of picky about my gym atmosphere, but what I couldn't get past about this location was that there are absolutely no mirrors to look at your form when you are lifting! I thought that was a little crazy. It's also located in a small strip mall and the gym is very stuffy and crowded in my opinion. There also aren't many windows, except for at the entrance of the gym, which I think contributed to the stuffy, crowded feeling. After that experience, I couldn't justify going back. read more

Canceled my membership then a few months later on February 18 2022 I was still being charged after I canceled so went in and was told they must have messed up before that they had it cancelled for sure this time. Now April 18th I was just charged again.I called and was told I've been charged every month since I cancelled but that there was nothing he could do about it and that the only one that could refund anyone was the regional manager so I asked for the number to speak to him and was told that they couldn't give his number to me so there's no way to reach out to him. Regional manager Braxton Haas emailed me stating they would not refund any of the money since I didn't keep the paper saying I canceled 5 months later. It's the employs job to make sure they cancel the account not the customers job to keep a paper for months as proof everytime they randomly charge your account again. I told them the exact date I canceled and my account at planet fitness shows I have not been in in 189 days. read more

But, sitting here in the parking lot 20 minutes past when they were supposed to open on a Saturday morning is kind of ridiculous. 20ish people sitting here also waiting alongside. I have been going to this location for over a year now and find myself more and more displeased each trip. I have the blackcard, but will be moving back down to the $10 membership today. One of their mega tanning beds fans has not worked for months and now the other one is completely broke. Face tanners aren't working in the normal beds, so my only option is a stand up. I've tried to use the red light therapy 5 times now and not one employee is capable of explaining the bed. One of the hydro massage beds screens has barely worked in the year I've been there. I decided to use it last night and every time it went down my lower back area you couldn't feel it and then it would hit you hard it the upper back. I like to go late at night, but when I try and clean the equipment off I have to walk half way across the building to find paper towel. No complaints if you are going there just to work out. Equipment is great. Rant over. You get what you pay for here. read more

We just joined this week and while for the most part the gym is impressive but there are things that will drive me away. We joined online and went down to pickup our membership tags, the two night time guys were at the counter at the time and the guy said I will have to give you a basic member tag because we are out of the Black tags, how does that even happen? We just got back home from our first workout and the first thing we saw when we entered the door was that the men's restroom was out of order. One would think they would get that repaired immediately or at least have a backup for men to be able to use the restroom but they did not. The two guys who work the counter know we are new because they were there when we picked up our tags a couple days ago. Do you think they offered any sort of assistance or showed any sort of friendliness toward us at all? No they did not, they just stood at the counter glued to their phones the entire time we were there. Once we were done working out we decided to use our black membership perks and went to the counter and once they finally acknowledged us we had to go to our lockers and get our membership tags to be able to use the amenities, that was very inconvenient not to mention that in the past when using other Planet Fitness gyms I never had to do that. We went to the massage chairs first and mine started working right away but the other one wouldn't come on so we called out to the guy at the counter and do you think he put the phone down and came to help? No he did not. He just yelled across the room that it comes on automatically. It did finally come on. After that we decided to use the hydrobeds and I was in #11 and it doesn't work very well at all. In the past you could adjust how strong it was but this one didn't change at all when I pushed the buttons. However it was already at a very high level so it should have been very strong. I could barely tell it was on at all. When we joined they said it was a free bag and t-shirt but when I got there the guy said it was a bag only. They only had one music channel on the tread mill that was a bummer. I didn't really like what they were playing. The one in Bloomington has several different channels to listen to. I tend to prefer dance or something really upbeat to get me going. read more

Only $10 a month - no cancellation fee - great deal! Tons of treadmills, free weights, and machines. The place is clean as a whistle, the staff is always dusting, refilling sprays, and monitoring the place. This is a simple gym in that there isn't all the training and classes, but a great place to come, workout, and leave. The locker rooms are clean, have showers, and smell great. For the money, I don't think there is a better deal. read more

Apparently you have to cancel before the 10th of the month you're canceling to avoid being billed again . They conveniently tell you this as you're canceling. I didn't mind this gym. Billing issues are always my gripe with big gym franchises , it's partly because they use third party billing companies . Just a lot of 'fine print' so they can get more of your money. Now they refuse to start a membership without a checking account number. No company has the right to force their customers to provide their checking account information. I work out here. It's good for the price, you get what you pay for I suppose. However, they could definitely work on several small things. I can't count how many times I've been in a restroom stall there that didn't have toilet paper. I seriously check every time before I use the facilities because it's happened so many times. The last two times the first stall I went into was empty. The last two times I informed the front desk they seemed very put out that they would have to refill it. There are three staff members who are consistently friendly and accommodating. The rest it is a catch 22. The gal with the dreads is always working hard, friendly, and super accommodating. There's a tall, slender guy who does the training who always makes himself available and is very approachable, And a guy that seems to be in his early 20's with facial hair is always very nice too. I've had a less than awesome experience with just about everyone else that I've had contact with. When I joined, I registered online. When I went in to get my card and all my goodies, I got no tour or instruction. The guy just took my picture handed me my card, gym bag, and tee shirt and walked away to o yak to a co-worker at the counter. I had to ask the next time I came in where the locker rooms were and text a friend about standard procedure on tanning. It just seems like there's a lack of training and accountability. read more

I've been a member at Plainfield PF since right after they first opened and truly enjoy going to the gym. I get a great workout, in an environment that is friendly and welcoming to anyone regardless of race, income level, body size, etc. The staff is pretty friendly, as well. On the downside, it's small. The women's locker room is outdated and numerous lockers are not in such great shape. The toilets had a horrible issue in the past and wouldn't flush properly but that's been fixed, as have the malfunctioning 'automatic' water faucets. The soap dispensers are constantly either empty or don't work. And there is very little room for women to 'get ready' after a workout in terms of doing hair or makeup. Sadly, it doesn't ever feel very clean and attended to. In the gym, the paper towel dispensers and the spray bottles with the sanitizer in them are always breaking and rarely work correctly. Also, the machines are filthy. If you look under every single machine, there are years worth of dust clumps accumulated. Every time I work out, I look under each machine in hopes it's been cleaned, but as of yet, they haven't. Many of the machines need attention and it doesn't seem there are techs around with the knowledge to attend to them. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love to work out there. It's just very small and SLAMMED during peak hours. Literally. It's overly frustrating trying to find machines. So, I always go in the mornings when the 'regular' crowd is there and the options for working out are wide open. Many of the issues are cosmetic and housekeeping, but sadly the staff rotates thru this PF like water thru a strainer. And, to top it off, the staff have a 'break room' the size of my bathroom closet and their only office is miniscule. This PF needs some revival to get back to the PF I joined numerous years ago. I know it can be done. Management just needs to face the issues and get the job done. read more

I've worked out here, but the female workers are required to check the male locker room and showers. The management requires this to be done 1x per hour. The locker room has huge TV which doesn't allow the worker to be heard when coming in to the locker room. Some men have had female workers walk in while they were changing clothes or NAKED. This is has also happened in the shower room because an industrial size fan is running in there, so AGAIN the female workers can't be heard when entering the shower room. This is a concern for safety for all involved!!!!!! read more
