After driving down from Dallas and spending the night in the van, it was time for a workout. No problem here with my Black Card at the scanner, so I spent a bit of time on the Thirty Minute Circuit before hitting the locker room. Clean, easy and plenty of water. Showers were good and plenty of hot water. I'd love some more shelf in the shower but this was better than some other PFs where there's nothing. Lots of parking in this strip mall shopping plaza. I have been coming to this gym for years. For the last 2 years this gym has not been the same. Every week when I come in some machine is not working. We are paying to get healthy and how can we if the machines are not working it is very frustrating. Right now it is several machines not working. The Gym so far has been clean. The staff is usually nice. And some of the equipment keeps getting moved. Where some of the areas is at is too crowded. I have always love Planet Fitness. read more

Planet fitness is an excellent place to work out. They keep it clean, orderly, and neat. They have all the machines that you need to work out every part of your body. The only downside, is that they do not enforce that people clean up after themselves. One of the things I like about planet fitness is the fact that when someone is using equipment, they clean it up from one of the mini mini cleaning stations spread throughout the facility. It seems that more and more people now are not cleaning up after themselves, and in this time of Covid and the flu and other things, it is more important than ever that people sanitize equipment after they've gotten it sweaty. Well, the gym was filthy and 2 out of the 4 stair machines were not working over the week I was in town and the 2 that were functioning were not calibrated properly. The last day I went I found an old KFC mystery sandwich in its wrapper in a water holder on a machine, so i did not return. I don't expect much when I go to a gym out of town, but man, this PF was just nasty and the staff was unfriendly and uninterested. I was very happy to return to my home PF and would definitely not return to this location in south waco. read more

Simply based on the fact that they would not allow me to speak to my wife on a treadmill even though she was less than 30 feet away, and I was wearing business attire. It was obvious I was coming in to workout, and they actually could have put me as a quest, but the guy wouldn't even go over and ask her. This is by no means the type of customer service I expect from a facility like this. We never had that issue with Crunch Fitness. I think it is time to move back to them. read more

I moved four months ago from Arlington, Tx to Hillsboro and have been trying to cancel my membership every month since then since it's just too far to drive to the nearest facility and every month they charge me again. I purchased a black membership and I can tell at this point I am frustrated beyond words. Would I recommend Planet Fitness? Absolutely not if there's any chance you might move before your yearly membership expires! So after they post this seemingly concerned response about this issue and I send them the info they asked for they send me an email telling me I either have to either cancel at the home location, which I now live over 100 miles from or gather up all this information and send a certified letter in and then they will consider it! What!? Seriously!? Don't don't join unless you're sure about where you'll be for the whole next year and you're positive you won't be moving, get injured, get a job transfer or anything that might cause you to not use their facilities anymore. So much ridiculousness. I'm actually considering closing my bank account and opening another one to fix this issue. After all that would be less hassle and cost me less than this Almost a week now and still no further contact from these people. Just cancel my membership for heavens sake! That's all I'm asking. The staff are very helpful and each time I visit, I get better acquainted with staff and fellow members. The equipment is cleaned regularly and in optimal condition. This is my gym! I love the environment and the hydro massage is amazing. The staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. You can tell the people there really care about the building. I started with this gym when it first opened. Pound for pound, ;) you get a huge bang for your buck; more than any other gym in waco - in my opinion. This place delivers every piece of machinary that you'll ever need to get healthier. Locker rooms, showers and bathrooms are nice and clean. Tvs are good, workers are proper and professional. It's a 24 hours gym so you'll never have an excuse not to go. They always have specials running, so you're bound to find a service that fits you and your financial needs. So yeah. I have never been to a PF or even heard of this place before moving here. I learned that their membership is so much cheaper than 24hr fitness. Pros: - Cheap - Judgement free zone - Friendly staff - The equipment I tend to use always has at least 2 spots available - If you have earphones, you can listen to one of the many tv stations that they have on display through the equipment that you're using. - 24 hours - 30 minute numbered workout station - 12 minute ab workout - Black card members gets access to any location in the country - Black card members are allowed to bring a guest Alas, I wanted to give this place 5 stars but there has been some pretty concerning problems. - CLEANLINESS OF THE RESTROOMS ARE NOT MAINTAINED. I usually go to the gym at night. With 2 full days passing by, I noticed the same garbage in both the locker room trash bin as well as the GARBAGE ON THE FLOOR IN ONE OF THE STALLS. This shows that the restrooms are not monitored or cleaned regularly. I usually shower there because I don't like jumping into the car immediately after making my blubber cry. However, when you approach the shower, there is a strange funk. I figured hey, maybe someone that used it before me just had bad b.o. (I'm either disgusting or a trooper because I toughed that out & stepped in anyway) I worry about fungus or bacteria on the bottom of my feet so I make it a habit to wear slippers in the shower (personally, I think as a safety precaution everyone should do this). I lose my balance when I close my eyes to wash my hair. To ensure that I don't fall, I put my hand on the wall. To my horror, my hand SLIPPED. Yes, slipped. Why? Because the walls were SLIMEY D: This further confirms that the bathrooms are not properly maintained. With as many signs that promotes sanitary practice (don't forget to spray and wipe down the equipment when you're done using it), you'd think that the restrooms would be taken care of. But nope. I really do love coming here and I will continue to workout here since it's closest to home but I really hope that those issues are remedied ASAP. read more

Overall this gym is a solid 4 stars. They have ample cardio machines and a few areas designated for circuit training that are well laid out. The only drawback is they're somewhat lacking on free weights - although there are well maintained machine weights available. The Black Card membership is definitely worth it, it comes with unlimited tanning and use of the massage chairs which is kind of nice after a workout. One genuinely odd thing is the Pizza Mondays that they host... That's right, free pizza on Mondays in the lobby. It's a weekly struggle not to take a pizza and run. I like it here. I pay less than 25/mo for a black card membership. This gets me perks other than simply use the gym and showers. They have a TON of treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes. They also have stair steppers? Also weigh lifting stuff. My favorite spot right now is the 30 minute express section. Like curves. Hmmm. Black card gets you use of massage chairs and tanning beds--oh and a hydromassage bed. It says unlimited but I've received only 5 mins at a time for the chair and 7 mins at a time for massage bed. Well planet fitness at Valley Mills, what I can honestly say about this place, the facility is clean and they require you to wear a face mask going in and walking through your workout station, the follow the planet fitness rules and for the most part they have a great attitude with the exception of a guy at the front desk that having a bad day seems to be his thing and education or customer service is not a strong suit of some people, the restrooms are clean, an affordable place to work out with new to decent equipment, great for working out if you don't yell, grunt or slam the weights as you working out. read more

The gym area appears to be clean and well kept. I am here just visiting and have a black card so I came here. The employees are nice except for one girl that I dealt with the most when I was doing hydro massage. She was very rude with terrible customer service. Was enjoying my workout until I needed help with the hydro massage. No matter how nice the gym is, customer service makes the biggest impact on someone's experience and mine was not enjoyable. read more

I see staff cleaning and sanitizing non stop. It was raining hard and several of us wore a jacket in... The staff made sure that jackets belonged to someone near by and not just left. They were wearing gloves and masks. You could tell their concern for not only their safety but ours as well. They are constantly making sure there is cleaner for equipment, and hand sanitizer,.soap etc. Since some people didn't want to follow the rules so they blocked off the lockers, showers and changing rooms. I'm glad I felt bad for the staff that was trying to keep the bathroom sanitized and people didn't have any respect and did what they wanted. I was devastated when the gym closed and got depressed I have been super happy you have reopened. I don't mind the extra rules, as a person with severe asthma I'm kinda glad they are in place and the staff is doing such a great job cleaning and sanitizing. read more

This location is out of control. Be prepared to receive terrible service. The management staff at this location are completely untrained and completely rude I did get a hold of the regional director Caleb however he provided nothing but avoiding the issue. He stated he credited was sufficient enough. The problem is nothing adds up even with basic mathematics I don't understand. No new calls will be returned to us or anything and we are left now out of pocket with something that they say they reimbursed which they didn't so they're forcing us to take other actions just to get something back that's the correct thing that should've happened a long ago. Excel Fitness (franchise with dba Planet Fitness...) seems to be a shell company as their website is of no benefit. It's a one page site!! BEWARE. Club staff rude and untrained high school kids, and "upper executive management" is of no help whatsoever. So now we must do the leg work just to solve this entirely. Embarrassed I did business with this company. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!! Just realized that Caleb said all their offices are closed due to COVID but ironically the gyms are open? Health wise it's obvious if offices are closed but gyms open kind of shows they choose to protect their staff but still open for business for their gyms.... business replied with generic response stating to send an email to social team which is poor as I took time composing this review only to find that the company wants me to send additional email and repeat the entire situation again! I really have enjoyed my experience at Planet Fitness up until today. My daughter who is home from college for the summer, she went to work out with me today however she forgot her driver's license, which isn't the issue. I totally understood why she wasn't permitted to work out, however the counter help Jacob takes his job way too serious. As he would not even permit her to use the restroom. I feel it unnecessary for level 5 stage clearance lock down security just to use the bathroom. As the counter help is the patron's first impression of the facility and it's staff, we were definitely left with a sour taste. read more

Free wifi. Most times I've gone I've never had any problems getting on a machine. Staff is helpful and courteous. If you're looking for a gym that is clean and inexpensive and not have to wait for machines this is a good option in waco. Massage chairs and the hydro massage bed are great if you have the upgraded membership. I've never used tanning booth so can't comment. Overall happy with the gym. Also the hours are always open besides a few holidays which had limited hours. Can't beat that. read more

I do not have an issue with the facility itself. It was usually clean and well kept with more than adequate supplies. My issue is with the lack of customer service and communication accessibility. I have been trying to cancel my Black Card membership since November of 2018. I moved TWO HOURS away from Waco and NO LONGER have access to a Planet Fitness in my area. I was trying to cancel it before January 2019 to avoid the Annual Membership Fee and any subsequent monthly charges. I made numerous calls to the club. Each time I was told there was nobody available to cancel but that my message would be passed along and I would be called back. Considering the gym is open 24/7, they have had over 60 opportunities (two months!) to call my back since my first phone call and I have not received any form of contact. I also have a huge issue with not having an email address available to reach a manager or supervisor about this issue ESPECIALLY when the only form of contact they offer is not being honored. I am incredibly disappointed in this process as my actual time spent in the gym was pleasant. I will no longer be recommending PF to any of my friends or family. read more
