They have dress code signs yet they let the women wear ripped leggings thongs showing and really short shorts. I'm no prude but I really don't want to see butt cheeks hanging out. If that's what u go to the gym for them you're in the right place. No water fountain in work out area. And that's really a hassle. The gym seems to be getting really crowded and un-enjoyable. They added new equipment and when I asked the workers to tell me how to use them none of them knew how to use them.... Why not train your employees on the machines ins and outs? I'm really hoping Golds gym comes here to Weslaco. The classes are good but they haven't updated there equipment there either. Mats look and smell old and gross. The hand weights are ripped and bars are bent.

There's only one set of light-weight dumbbells, and the trainers keep them hidden for their sessions, as if regular members whether premium or basic don't matter. When equipment breaks, repairs take forever--easily a month and a half or more. Last year, I had to stop attending spinning classes because 28 out of the bikes were broken, and I'm not even sure if they offer spinning anymore. I strongly discourage anyone from signing up at this location. The lack of proper maintenance and care for members is unacceptable. I can only hope we either get a Gold's Gym in Weslaco or new management that prioritizes the facility and its members.

One Cashier continued to call Management on the head set & stated to me- I call, they never answer. I was in like approx 30-40 min & when I asked him why he couldn't get behind a cash register and help out he told me they were looking for someone. I told him I've see 5 males walking around. He argued with me telling no other males were there (one was wearing an orange vest going in & out of the building, one OTHER MGR standing at front door Ralph Lopez. Could he not get on a Register? And another man in a blue shirt just browsing clothing so ok that's 4 not 5) I asked him if he was going to argue with me or fix the problem? He said "Fix it". INSTEAD he finished his fax, did not get on a register or get anyone else to get in a register, walk over to the other manager, talk about me, they both looked at me and I looked RIGHT BACK, hand on my hip PISSED. Everyone in one was telling me, "Good going". We were all frustrated. I have photos & you can see it on their faces. I told him I was gonna blast him on YELP & call Coorporate. He ignored me. Didn't fix the issue. No reason for such long lines not even prime Christmas shopping time. Week day, kids aren't out yet, lunch time .... I asked the cashier, "Are your Managers too good to get on the Register?

The staff and management could be more considerate. Also, like someone else said, they are quick to respond on FB when some one asks how to join but never reply when current members ask questions about promotions or other concerns. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Within…read morethis short time, I've had several issues with the gym and voiced them, but none of them have been addressed. For one, vehicles have been broken in to in the parking lot of STX. On facebook, I asked what was being done to prevent any future break ins, but I got no reply. About a week later, another member asked on fb if she could get the current promotional rate when it's time for her to renew her contract in August. She also got no reply. Yet, anyone on fb who has questions about how to join do get very nice replies. After making a comment about this observation on fb, STX unfriended me. They don't like me or my questions, but they still love my money!! So unprofessional and immature! Also, their daycare policy is awful. First of all, the daycare itself is boring. I don't take my 9 year old anymore because she gets tired of sitting on a bean bag (not many chairs) and watching Dora the Explorer. I'm paying extra for nothing. I got reprimanded because apparently you have to pay $5 above the extra daycare fee you're already paying if you want to leave your child for over an hour. Mind you, if you like the classes, you're screwed because you have to be there at least 30 minutes prior to get a spot. There goes half your daycare time limit! You're screwed either way because even if you go for the machines, you can expect a wait for that too if it's after 4:00. Another complaint is that a couple of times, when the machine I'm about to use doesn't work and I report it, the staff is very rude and do nothing about it. So I'm not reporting any problems anymore. I just go to a different machine and remind myself that it's STX that will be liable, not me! Oh well!!
