I've been a member for 8 years, mainly because this location is close to where I live, but I'm extremely dissatisfied with the Weslaco branch. The equipment is outdated and very limited. There's only one set of light-weight dumbbells, and the trainers keep them hidden for their sessions, as if regular members whether premium or basic don't matter. When equipment breaks, repairs take forever--easily a month and a half or more. Last year, I had to stop attending spinning classes because 28 out of the bikes were broken, and I'm not even sure if they offer spinning anymore. I strongly discourage anyone from signing up at this location. The lack of proper maintenance and care for members is unacceptable. I can only hope we either get a Gold's Gym in Weslaco or new management that prioritizes the facility and its members. read more

I really love the gym--it's spacious and offers a great variety of equipment. The child care is fantastic, which I appreciate a lot. However, one thing that's made me consider checking out other gyms is the restroom smell. My partner and I both use the facilities, and while we expect some odors, the restrooms smell more like a gas station bathroom. It really detracts from the overall experience because whether we want to freshen up or just take a quick break, the restroom condition makes it uncomfortable. read more

Have been going to this gym for over a year with no issues. Today I went in with my son and we were encountered by a very rude and condescending lady (Clarissa) that we had never seen. She told us that I did not have guest privileges on my account which I was sure I did. It took me over a year to convince my son to go to the gym and try and get health since he is diabetic and now this experience has him not wanting to return. I know there are rules but just the way the situation was handled left a bad taste in his mouth. TruFit's honesty policy is non existent. Once they have your bank info it's a done deal.

They mislead you about the contract before you sign it, AND THEN it becomes AUTORENEWAL for a FULL term unless canceled IN PERSON on a form (can only be signed at the gym!) AT LEAST 30 days BEFORE the end. They will be pressuring you not to cancel. Otherwise, they will charge you exactly the same thing as the contract AGAIN -- especially high if for personal training -- and they will send any unpaid amounts to collections. OR NEVER SIGN A CONTRACT with them. read more

Brand new gym (opened May 2014), good variety of equipment/machines. Lot of college students go there, so if you're one of those who go to the gym for eyes candies, you're in for a treat. The membership is very reasonable @ $25/mo. I'm sure that'll change soon more than likely. They have exercise classes (yoga, cycling, zumba, etc...), kids center, plus separate sauna rooms for males and females. The only complaint I have is the hours. However, since there's no 24 hrs fitness anywhere in the area, I believe they do have the best hours compare to all the other gyms. read more

Been a member since day 1 at the Weslaco location. The front desk ppl are friendly and the instructors are great! Stacey and cici are the best. But the gym itself is really not up to par. They have dress code signs yet they let the women wear ripped leggings thongs showing and really short shorts. I'm no prude but I really don't want to see butt cheeks hanging out. If that's what u go to the gym for them you're in the right place. No water fountain in work out area. And that's really a hassle. The gym seems to be getting really crowded and un-enjoyable. They added new equipment and when I asked the workers to tell me how to use them none of them knew how to use them.... Why not train your employees on the machines ins and outs? I'm really hoping Golds gym comes here to Weslaco. The classes are good but they haven't updated there equipment there either. Mats look and smell old and gross. The hand weights are ripped and bars are bent. read more

Manager Amber is the rudest and most disrespectful person I have ever spoken too. She tried to get me to sign a paper that would have them not pay me back for member ship I should not have been charged for. My Contract ended in February with UFC, who sold it to Trufit, and I was never notified to sign a new contract in February with Trufit. The took money from my account without my permission. And refuse to pay me back for those 4 months. I have been battling Cancer and had major surgery, and they have no compassion or understanding. DO NOT go here! DO NOT Sign any contract!!!!! read more

PLEASE FOLLOW EVERYONE'S "CONTRACT" WARNINGS FROM THIS GYM! I just figured these people didnt know how to cancel properly. I learned 1st hand how harassing they can be. Even after u cancel properly, they still keep billing u or will debit your account without your consent. They will admit their fault, but what does that matter when another department doesn't actually cancel your account and another keeps trying to bill you. Even when they say they will take care of it and call back, they dont. They DO know what they're doing because they record and have everything said in their notes. The people who lied about helping and fixing my issue were; Crystal, Erica, and Vanessa. THEY ARE COMMITTING FRAUD, with your money at their dispense. Cornerstone is the company that bills or debits your account. PLEASE be careful when trying to properly close your account. I had to change cancel my debit card and report fraud charge from them, 6 months after i cancelled and cleared out. They charged my card a big sum W/O my consent claiming that Crystal messed up by never actually cancelling my account. This is ridiculous! This had never happened to me before. I had to report this business. Just please please be careful, record everyone and have them sign your own notarized ending membership agreement. read more

This gym is horrible, workout equipment and cardio equipment is all upstairs. There's more cardio machines than workout equipment, it's majority machines, very few free weights. There are no water fountains in the workout area, there's one water fountain and it's back downstairs by the bathrooms. The trainers don't look like they train at all, and it's a wonder why anyone would take advice from them. Visits are $15 and it's definitely not worth the time unless your really desperate for a workout. read more

I've been a member here since before they opened over a year ago. Despite being brand new this place is only average at best. I posted a couple pictures of the sort of effort put into maintenance. I've got the distinct impression that the extra $30 charged annually for "operating costs" was funneled into their brand new flagship facility off Ware Rd. (which is an extra cost for members to attend) , since this place always looks like it's needs to be dusted, vacuumed and they haven't replaced the workout mats since they opened. This place is a franchise unfortunately and therefor lacks the standards you usually find at a larger corporate gym, which I miss for once. The bigger issue is that there isn't the sort of competition in Weslaco that you'd find in other areas that would force them to step up their game. I'm out of my contract and only here since it's so close to my house. If there was a Planet Fitness/Freedom Fitness even a little closer if be out of here. read more

with all the health issues going on right now and this fitness business has mold growing on top of the ceiling in one of the class room ,it is soo moist and wet that it could fall on somebody. bad management cause this issue has been reported , next step is to report them with the health dept. read more

I've been a gym member in Mission,Texas (Expressway and Ware Road) for 1 year anad have been happy there but I decided to attend Zumba in Weslaco (after work) because it's near to my work. That's where I got my WORST experience. They don't let me IN because I am late despite my explanations and the front desk receptionist- Crsytal is not welcoming and accommodating. I tried to talk to the manager (Hector) with poor customer service too because before I say something, he already interrupted me. The place is amazing, I only joined to go to zumba, but your instructors suck... Stacy was the only good one and she's no longer doing the class. In order to be a zumba instructor one must have some dance skills. Right now only one female instructor is doing ok. The males are really... really... bad... ZUMBA ITS SUPPOSED to be fun, these guys choreographies are very... very... lame and boring, they're always off beat and no rhythm in their movements, awful. Watch out for the manager who doesn't explain contract just to get contracts signed. Manager didn't explain to me that I could bring someone free from Thursday-Sunday at time of signing contract, I explained to him that my Bf is only in town for one week every 2-3 weeks because of his job and he would want to workout, he only said it will be more convenient to pay for the month than the week, which is true, but I could have just taken him for free for four days out of the week rather than sign a contract. At the time he was "giving me a deal" where I wasn't paying the sign up fee, so I was happy, but when I told him I was going to go look around and check out other gyms real quick he said that if I left and came back he couldn't make me that deal, when I thought it was a whole month deal thing for first time members( which I clearly was). I even mentioned about how freedom fitness does the free bring a member and he said they no longer did that for me to call them and I did and he was right but he still didn't mention the Thursday-Sunday thing. Today when I got upset with him about it after finding out he said it can't be your spouse, and I mentioned I am not married or live with him. He also managed to say it's only 15 dollars. The gym is decent and I would like it much better if the manager hadn't pulled a quick one on me and been honest and explained the full contents of my contract, I feel completely stuck now. read more

the people who designed this gym need HELP.I have been going to exercise facilities for about 40 yrs. and this is the worst laid out unit that i have seen.There is no running water on the primary work floor.There is no place to put your gym bag except in the locker room,which makes it very inconvenient.The work out equipment is split up between the 2 stories,also not convenient.This place could reallyuse some rethinking about its policies and layout. read more
