Not the widest variety of *serious* lifting equipment, but if you know what you're doing, there are easy workarounds for pretty much everything you might find at a Gold's. Everyone is welcome here. You can get a basic membership for this location or move up a tier and go to this or any other locations you want. That tier also comes with free tanning and massage chair usage. Free and machine weights are available. Treadmills. Bikes. Rowing machines. Ellipticals. Your normal gym equipment. I asked the manager to do something about no masks being worn. The response I got was horrifying. I am a member over at Planet Fitness on 5609 W 44th Avenue in Lakeside, Colorado. It has come to my attention that this establishment is not enforcing patrons to wear masks indoors. I approached the manager about this matter and I was told that this particular franchise owner asked the employees to not engage with customers or require them to wear masks. To be quite honest, this is terrifying and unlawful. Today alone I witnessed 5 people exercise without any type of mask at all in a 1 hour period. This is a COVID outbreak waiting to happen as the staff stands by doing nothing. Please take this warning seriously and inspect this establishment immediately! Make sure to ask the staff's position on weather or not they're allowed to ask customers to wear their mask at all times. You'll be surprised at their response. I am afraid for anyone who decides to workout here and I refuse to sit around and do nothing. Let me start my saying this is my home gym but I much prefer to go to other locations. They have absolutely everything you need here but overall I'm not happy with the cleanliness of this location. At any given time the showers are a mess, the urinals are always a mess and the sinks never really look like they've been cleaned. I had a membership just about two months I was going in there I understood the coronavirus situation about mask I was told when I signed up if I had to catch my breath I could pull my mask down and get a breath well I was running there one day and I didn't know the new rules one of the employees asked me to pull it up I was getting a breath so I pulled it up and when I was running about two more minutes it came down again another employee came over and kick me out and said I was told twice about pulling up my mask but when I first sign the contract I was told I could get a breath I just think it was too quick to kick me out I think that was an agenda behind it it look like they targeted me right when I walked in the door anyways that experience cancel my subscription and will move to another gym good luck with planet fitness read more

I usually preferred going to classes like yoga and Pilates because I didn't know how to work out on my own so I signed up for classes here with Natalie. She tailors the workouts to my comfort level and pushes me to go harder than I would on my own! Joined Planet Fitness today with my Silver Sneakers card. All of the equipment seemed a little intimidating at first, but they have a great guy, Alan who took care of registration and later explained the equipment to me. He was so patient and friendly. I wish he could be my personal trainer. There is also a QR code on the machines that lets you download instructions. I didn't over exercise today, but I plan to keep going back. read more

They don't enforce the mask rule in this gym and because people can be assholes I don't blame the staff because I have seen people get violent about being asked to put it on and they don't get paid enough to worry about being verbally or physically assaulted. There is a lot of good about this gym. The member pricing and options are fair and reasonable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The equipment is usually in good shape, though some of the weight benches are torn and could use reupholstering. The weight-training equipment is a little sparse, but there are plenty of cardio and circuit training machines available- even during the busiest hours. There is tanning and hydro massage, and the locker rooms are usually clean. The locations are convenient around town and this one is in a strip mall with lots of cool businesses nearby. After the gym you could visit the new whole foods grocer next door, visit the chiropractor, get a haircut, go thriftstore shopping, get your taxes done, and get authentic Mexican food. Very poor customer service when canceling service. Sending certified mail to cancel is about as inconvenient as coming back to Westminster after moving away. This is my first planet fitness membership. So far I am happy with my purchase. Keep in mind I have only used the cardio equipment. Everything seems like the typical standard equipment. All the cardio equipment is connected to overhead TVs. Some of the headphone jacks don't connect very well though. They have 9 channels. Mostly local channels so news is mostly on but they have HGTV! I had no idea signing up that they had it. So it was a nice surprise when I jumped on the elliptical and they did! Gym is very clean and I'm always able to find a cardio machine that is open. Staff is super friendly so I appreciate that. They seem to value the place they work. Since the New Year occurred there are a few more people there. No surprise though. So I have been coming to this planet fitness for 5 years now! When I first started working out here,the employees cared about the customer. Now things are different in the past 3 year. The spray bottles are not always filled,also for the most part there is no paper towel,& when you let certain employees know! Instead of filing up the paper towels without question,the employees will tell you where else you can get them. Then they never fill them up,& then they go back to the counter, and stand around doing nothing. And at times when they do fill them. After that they don't acknowledge when you are leaving. It's like they are mad at you for asking them to do there job! It makes me wonder what all of our members are paying for! Maybe it needs to be explained to the employees,if it wasn't for the customers, they would not be getting a paycheck. It's usually 3 to 4 employees standing around. Also when trash cans are full, they just stay that way. What's crazy about it all! Is on Monday January 17,2022 I came in around 6:30 p.m. & there was only one employee in this Planet fitness,& this one employee was working her butt off, taking care of customers,also at the same time she was dumping all trash cans , replacing paper towels as needed, also replacing spray bottles as needed. She was also taking care of what ever was needed to do behind the counter. There was never a point in time that I didn't see her doing something. She did more in the few hours I was there, than when there is four employees here. That was the first time I seen that in 3 years! So at the end of my workout, I told her thanks for her hard work, and that I appreciated it, and it made me feel like she cared about her job and the customers! This is the best of the Westminster Planet Fitness location. It is like many of the other PF - located in an older shopping center with plenty of parking. The gym area has alot of aerobic equipment - seems like more than the others BUT you have to watch the big screens hanging from the ceiling vs. monitors on the aerobic equipment. Plenty to choose from but I tend to hit the gym during off peak times to avoid the crowds/waits. All the equipment seemed to be working fine and I did not wait but did need to balance timing when I was lifting but no worries on treadmill/bike - also they have two very large fans that keeps the air moving/temps reasonable - (another one up on the Wads location). Locker room was large and things were fairly clean. Staff here was friendly and greeted me as soon as I came in the door and also said bye on the way out - not sure what the expectations of a gym are but this is on par with ever other gym I've belonged to. If you need a gym at a reasonable cost - I would go with this one over the Wads location. read more

I think the low reviews are just from a few customers that had a bad experience. This PF is really nice and I've seen a LOT of them. I joined PF because I'm a traveler and want a cheap gym to work out, shower, and basically be a second home. This one is nice and big and spread out. It was my boyfriend's first time joining me and he had no complaints - he does the weights. The showers were nice - didn't seem like they were used much - or they were just super clean. They have separate changing areas for the modest folks. They also have a nice lounge area, massage beds, tanning beds... stuff that I don't take advantage of. But for $20 a month and you can bring a guest whenever and use any location - it's an amazing deal. Someone mentioned the 10 limit visit if it's not your home gym - while this is true, you can go to different gyms up to 10 times per month - and you can do that as much as you want. There is another PF in Westminster, too. So for travelers like me, this 10 limit thing is not a deal breaker - at all. Super friendly staff. Place was clean. No complaints! read more

This place is a scam once you try to cancel your membership. First I was told I need to come into the gym or send a certified letter to cancel it. So I go in and I'm told I have to pay $58 to cancel it sense it was September and my contract wasn't up until October. I'm told if I come back in October there will be no fee. Okay so I come back on the 3rd, when I'm told you still have two weeks of a contract left and will be charged the $58 fee. I explain that I was told to come back in the month of October to cancel this and no fee will be added. I'm told oh no you have to come back on the exact day to cancel without a fee. I'm sorry but I'll be in Hawaii during this time so that's not possible. Needless to say I paid the fee just to be done with the back and forth. It's completely crazy to expect your customers to cancel on the exact same day vs the month in which the contract was signed. read more

The equipment is pretty decent, there have been plenty of machines available when I've been in there. I find it to be plenty spacious (it's little smaller than a normal 24 hr fitness). Well worth it imo. If you need a more luxurious workout experience, there are plenty of Lifetime Fitness locations. I'm plenty fine with a no-frills workout experience. read more

Get ready for a scathing review. I would NEVER even consider starting a membership with Planet Fitness EVER!!! I have been using Planet Fitness as a Black Card member ever since Dec 2017. I've always loved the gym and how accessible it was for me. I was also a vet tech and not making much income so for a membership that was only around $20 was very appealing to me. I have since been traveling a lot more due to my job in the music industry. Just recently I moved to Eureka, CA and would be staying for a few months so I though to transfer my home gym. Upon doing so the man behind the counter noticed I had two accounts. I thought that odd because I am a single woman and have no need for two accounts and absolutely would not have started two as I could barely pay for one. I also do not tend to check my billing statements often and do not notice when smaller amounts are taken from my account. I checked my bank statements after that and found that since Jan 2018 I had been charged double on the 17th of the month consistently for TWO accounts. I started to do some digging to figure out how they could've stolen literally hundreds of dollars from me unknowingly. I figured it was due to an error someone had made and I do believe people are generally good and wouldn't have started me a second account on purpose out of malice. I called the ABC Billing company as the kid at the counter thought it could've been a billing error. Yet speaking with them they said I needed to get the refund from the gym who initially started the second account. After many phone calls to many gyms and being told to call someone else only for them to turn around and tell me to call the other person I was previously speaking with I figured the change had to have occurred when I switched my home gym from a gym in Lakewood, CO to this gym in Westminster, CO. I was right in that assumption. I spoke with a very friendly GM of the gym here named Jess. We figured out together what most likely had happened. A woman named April who worked there with short pink hair (very sweet I will say) told me I should switch my home gym to them. I told her I had and she said it wasn't showing up in the system but that she would fix it. She said I needed to get a new barcode keychain and take a new picture. I didn't think anything of it and obliged. She said she transferred my home gym and that was that. This event occurred in Jan 2018. After Jess took a few days to make some calls to my original gym in Lakewood and to escalate it to the corporate office. They told her I needed to call the gym of the cancelled membership in order to get the refund. The reason one of the memberships was cancelled was when I switched to eureka I of course didn't want to get charged twice anymore so the kid behind the counter cancelled one for me then and there. After I called the gym with the cancelled membership they told me that I needed to call Oakland, CA as when I originally started it online I accidentally chose Oakland as my home gym. BUT THEY AREN'T THE GYM THAT MADE THE MISTAKE!!! Now I get that the refund needs to come from a gym but I'm am sick and tired of being handed off from one person to the next. I can't even escalate the problem to speak with someone in corporate myself and basically they have made getting away with the crime of stealing more that $500 dollars from me somehow my problem. This is completely unprofessional a straight up theft. I unfortunately do not have that type of money to lose and stayed calm and polite with them but enough is enough. I would NEVER advise ANYONE to get a planet fitness membership EVER. They are literally running me around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to solve a problem that they created. read more

This place is filthy! I got strep throat from this location! None of the members wipe down any equipment and no one on staff ever cleans the facility. I saw candy wrappers laying around the lobby for multiple days. Don't let the "FREE" sign up fool you, they will find a way to charge you and say you authorized it. The staff is rude and unhelpful. This is a nice gym, but the biggest problem here is the staff. Most of them are helpful and friendly, but there are a few bad apples here that are spoiling the bunch. When I first came to start my membership I was not given a tour, instructions, or anything. She just gave me my card and said 'here ya go', my guest and I just stared at her until she said 'oh have you guys not been here before?' (Which why would I be starting a NEW membership if I've been here?) and then just said 'the locker room is over there' and went back to chatting with her coworker. There was no explanation of different areas, gym rules, or benefits that go with the black card. I came in the next day with my guest and there was a different woman running the front desk, very competent and friendly. She scanned me in and then stopped my guest and told him he had to check in. What? We hadn't had to do this yesterday. She made it clear that she knew exactly who hadn't been doing their job. I've only encountered friendly employees since, but I also haven't been back on that day of the week. The only other problem I have is that specialty areas of the gym are abused. I try to do the 12 minute ab room, but some guy will come sit down at one of the machines and doesn't seem to notice as I work my way through the circuit toward them. I hate that every time I'm here I have to confront one of these guys to get them to move! read more

I really like this place. It is always clean and well maintained. It has plenty of equipment, and the equipment is in good condition. People are friendly and non-judgmental. It is extremely laid back for a gym. I live right next to the lifetime by the Orchard Mall on 144th and I-25 and drive out of my way to go to this gym instead. The equipment is nicer, and the overall atmosphere is much better. Even when there are a lot of people at planet fitness it never feels that crowded. My only complaint about planet fitness as a company is that they don't give you the option to pay by credit/debit card instead of direct withdrawal from a checking account, but for $10 a month I can't really complain. read more

This gym is large, with several areas set aside for abs and specialized workouts as well as other exercise machines. The people who work there are friendly and helpful if you ask, and their personal trainer is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and compassionate. It's always been clean when I've gone there, and I've gone several times a week for the past 4 months. Their cardio machines can hook into the sound for the TVs. They don't allow children under 13, which I prefer. Personal training is included in the price. For the Black Membership, $20/month, you also get tanning, hydro-massage beds, and red light treatments if you like. I think it's a great value. read more

I'd like to say thank you to the Staff for a great year , but it's time to move on from here. Really great place , great location, but coming in here after work and trying to get on a piece of equipment has become a workout in itself. I feel the gym has too many people as members for the location to support them all. Many of us have little free time during the day and when we do get the time it's painstaking to try and get a good workout in if having to wait to get on the equipment you are needing to get to your goal....Again though I want to give thanks to the Staff for always being helpful, the place is always very clean and they do have a lot of really great equipment, they are just in a very small location and just can't provide enough service to meet the demands. I've moved to another gym in the area that I feel will better serve my goals and needs. If by chance these guys can ever take over more space in the shopping mall and offer a few more services like possibly some one on one training or even some group work out classes, I'd be happy to consider returning until then I CHUZE to go to another place. read more
