My wife and I visited the Planet Fitness location in Westminster, MD today, April 12th, at 10 a.m. I have been a Black Card member since 2017, and we typically go on weekdays. During our visit, my wife asked for a couple of coins to use the massage chair, but the front desk associate, Julia, denied her request, stating that she was not a Black Card member. I then approached the counter and requested the coins myself. Julia looked at me in an odd manner and handed me one coin. When I asked, "Just one?", she gave me a second. I explained that I usually receive three coins, so she reluctantly handed me a third. I informed her that my wife would be using the chair instead of me, but she responded rudely, saying, "She is not a Black Card member, she can't use it." I found her tone and attitude unprofessional and disappointing. I also noticed other members requesting and receiving coins without any issue. I've always appreciated Planet Fitness for being a judgment-free and relaxing environment, but today's experience was frustrating and disheartening. The main issue I have with this location is that the patrons do not understand or appreciate what it means to work out in a community setting. People frequently get on a machine, do one set, then sit there checking their phone for 10 - 15 minutes, then maybe do another set. Some people even 'save' machines; they put some of their stuff on two machines and then move back and forth, monopolizing them both for 20 minutes. The whole point of machines with easy to set options is so that multiple people can be working on a machine. The biggest problem is that management does nothing about it. Enforce a rule that you can't rest on a machine. If you are on a machine, use it. And put an end to having your stuff on two machines at once. read more

Have been a client of PF Westminster Md since they opened their doors. Tried to renew my membership and was shocked at the increase and additional service charge they wanted. The price literally doubled since last year. Then I was told they wouldn't except my credit card they only take a debt card. Really I've been paying one year in advance for years but now that's not good enough they want all your checking info. Not! PF your not the only gym in the area. Dam shame been patronizing your business for years only to be told don't like it get out. read more

I had some downtime at work so I thought I'd get a workout in since this location finally opened up again. I walk in, got the usual non-greeting from the front desk staff, and went on my way. About 10 minutes later, I notice I'm the only one wearing a mask in the whole place! One of the front desk people was without a mask and another had it pulled down. I finish up and leave, deciding then to not come back until this covid thing is done. 3 days later, I have cold symptoms and a fever and I'm waiting for an appointment for covid testing. I should have walked right out of there to begin with. read more

I have a membership at LA Fitness, because I have a graduate degree in Health Sciences, and prefer to surround myself with people who share a similar passion for exercise, and lead a healthy lifestyle... it just seems to motivate me more. However, Westminster does not have an LA Fitness, and I was in town visiting family and needed a place to go for a few days while I was in town, and honestly there didn't seem to be very many quality choices for fitness centers around. I tend to be very skeptical (and honestly a little judgmental) about Planet Fitness, because I thought they had a not so great reputation. But I was pleasantly surprised that not only was this location clean, but it was also very spacious and filled with new state of the art equipment. Not only that, but the receptionists were extremely courteous, and even provided me with a free trial membership! I will definitely be returning next time I'm in town, and highly recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for a great place to start, continue, or enhance their health! read more

This is my favorite PF location that I have been too - I am always greeted by friendly staff, the gym is spacious and set up pretty logically with plenty of space for stretching/abs/HIIT workouts, there is a wide spectrum of fitness levels among the clientele, and the equipment and locker rooms are also clean. I haven't looked into taking classes or personal training - but as far as the basics, this location has got it going on! read more

PF was nice when they opened 3 years ago. Now when a television breaks they put a advertisement on it. I like to watch tv while on a treadmill. Even nicer is to watch a show with sound. Don't count on the sound working when you get on a treadmill. read more

I have been going to Westminster Planet since they have opened. The staff is always friendly and the gym is always clean and taken care of. Well the men's locker room smells bad somedays but that is to be expected. They used to have issues with hot water in the showers, running out, but that has been fixed as of recently. Overall quality place. I am a black card member, but don't use all of the liberties so I cannot comment on them. read more

So annoyed with Planet Fitness in Westminster. No problems until my yearly contract was up with them. I had moved to southern Maryland so I wasn't really visiting anymore and I had to come in and cancel my membership in-person or through the mail. I had asked when the next time I would be charged would be and they responded with June 10 so I had planned on coming in on the 5th when I would be in the area again (I now live two hours away). About three days after I called and asked if I would be charged anything else I was charged 49.99 and when I called about it they said it was annual fee. It could've been avoided by coming in to cancel my membership at an earlier date, and had I known that I would've been in that day. I was told I would "most likely" be refunded and I was going to be contacted within 24hrs about it. Two weeks later, still no contact with me, even after I call multiple times. I finally call and get an answer today that no, I cannot be refunded even though I was told there would be no more charges to my account. read more
