I saw this store on Ebay first, and check out their site. Made my order of over $80. I left a…read moremessage on order asking for smaller pieces and thinner due to the weight and order size. Well, they did not even bother to read and stuff 4 large thick pieces in a box, not wrapped with plastic to avoid water or extra tape around the ends of the box. It was raining in CA and the box tore on the ends....some leather got dragged on the ground. I then had to pull out my skiving knife and spent a good amount of time to cut them into smaller pieces just to move them around. Overall, they were decent on shipping time and got what I ordered, but their service is very poor. Both in communication and packaging.

Kevin is "real". He's good people. Great selection of stuff not to mention invaluable information…read morewhen needed. The best thing I like is that whatever he tells you, it's "solid". If he says something is nice, it's going to be nice. He is exceptionally trustworthy. As compensation for this endorsement I have received over twenty (20) years of honesty, integrity, honest character and value. With other leather vendors; well let's just say that it still hurts to sit down sometimes and that was a long, long, time ago. I worked in a craft shop with about 15 other leather workers for a very long time. Many decades of knowledge, experience, techniques, etc... Among us, "Springfield" was a household word. You learn quick, fast, and in a hurry who you can trust and who you can't. Springfield leather is, without a doubt, and this is a fact shared by many of us who have been doing leather for years and years and years, have our own shops and/or sites, one of, if not the best place to buy leather in this country. And that's a fact! Thanks Kevin, Darcie, Rusty, Jennifer, that new pretty girl in the catalog who I don't know and all the other nice people who have and continue to fill my orders and look out for me. Ya'll had that coming. Great work ethic. P.S. You might work on the dog joke material a little more. See ya. M

I had these guys make a knife sheath for my custom built knife. Talk about overjoyed at first…read moresight! This sheath is a superb example of pride of craftsmanship. It is hand tooled excellence with beautiful engraving. The leather was dyed to the exact shade that I had specified. If you need something done you had better hurry because I have plenty of knife, pistol holsters, and other projects for these experienced craftsmen to work on. Thanks FPL for making my day. In April 2016, I stopped in to request a custom order (messenger-style bag). The craftsman there…read morewas very friendly and enthusiastic about the work. He said it would take a couple of weeks, depending on when the leather showed up and how much other work he had to do. We agreed on a price and I gave him my contact info. I stopped by a few weeks later - bag wasn't ready. I stopped by the next month - bag wasn't ready. I stopped by again just before leaving town for several weeks in the summer - bag still, two months later, was not ready. When I got back to town, I stopped by again. Apparently the craftsman finished the bag, but the owner sold it while I was gone. They had made no attempt to contact me to let me know it was finished. The craftsman told me he had another, similar one in the works and it would be ready by that Saturday. I stopped by early the next week - bag wasn't ready. Stopped by today (mid-August - weeks later) - bag isn't ready. It's Birkenstock sandal season, and that's the main thing he does, especially in summer. They have a contract with Birkenstock, so that work takes priority. He told me to come back in a month. These guys might be wizards at leather work - I wouldn't know. As far as the business side goes, I can't endorse them. I don't even want the bag now - it's just going to remind me of getting jerked around. I wish it were otherwise. There are very few "old Fayetteville" businesses still around, and I would have been glad to support one. I guess if you bring in something with "Birkenstock" printed on it, or you're shopping off the racks (or the craftsman's counter, where my bag apparently was when it was sold), you'll be fine.
