Planet Stone received 3 strikes during my visit there yesterday: 1) Before visiting the showroom, we called to verify that they have samples of silestone for us to take home and match tile to. This was not the case when we arrived as they only had a few of the patterns on hand (person on phone made it sound like they had samples of all patterns) 2) Additionally, I did my research, even priced out countertops using their estimator on their website, it was off by over 50% (online estimated ~$2500, in store estimated over $4k). This is because we need 49 square feet of material, and the slabs come in 45 square foot slabs, therefore we need material from 2 slabs. The end result is they make you pay for the "waste", even though it is almost an entire slab. On top of that, their site (one of them, they operate many different sites that look different but are owned by the same company) advertised a sale on the particular silestone we wanted, in their show room we were given a tough time to get the price they advertised. I mentioned to the salesperson that the online estimator was so significantly off, he responded "well, it's only an estimator." That sounds like a pretty useless (and deceiving) estimator if it's off by almost a factor of 2. 3) Additionally, with the "sale" price, they refused to accept the Angie's List 5% discount, despite having no terms and conditions on the sale advertisement or the coupon on Angie's List. This is blatant misrepresentation on their part. I am very disappointed, because after I found their website and the positive reviews on Angie's List, I thought my search for countertops was over... I was wrong. It was too good to be true. Avoid Planet Stone -- they are incredibly unprofessional and unethical. read more

In the showroom, I was helped. Everything felt really great, selection was nice, showroom was clean, everything seemed correct. Felt like I got a great deal on what I ordered (New kitchen counter top and back-splash.) Once ordered, got a call to say that the tiling we chose for the back-splash wasnt for the sale price from the sale we were interested in. After much negotiation, and essentially ready to pull the plug, they caved and told me that they'd honor the price. It was 200$ difference, and they were prepared to lose the entire sale over this. Counter top installers showed up 4 hrs late. UN.AC.CEPTABLE. However, the counter top IS installed and does look as it should. I had to have some supporting work done before I could get back-splash installed. Appointment was scheduled between 8-9, no phone call telling us that "our guys didnt prepare/pick up the material on Saturday (sorry, not my problem), so they're going to be late". When WE called THEM, they told us this. ... Hrm. They showed up at 11:25, 3.5 hours late. "... There was so much traffic." was the excuse. It's Los Angeles (we all know there's traffic), plan ahead, plan around it. I'm sorry, but traffic isnt an excuse when you're a professional and have an appointment. Plan.Ahead. If you have all the time in the world to spend (read: waste) waiting, then this is totally the company for you. If you're like me, have a fairly busy schedule, and that thing that we all do during the day (read: work for a living), then this probably isnt the company for you. Customer Service are cordial on the phone, but know absolutely nothing about the work being done, who you are, or where any of their guys are en route. In short, sometimes paying a little more for convenience is worth not having to storm around your own house, stewing in your own anger and muttering obscenities under your breath. Shame that there's not a -3 Stars. I'd choose that. I was going to mark it down as 2 Stars, but felt I was being too gracious, because I cant allow this place to receive high marks of any kind. Bottom Line: I do no appreciate my time being wasted, or being treated like a lesser human. Find somewhere else. read more

horrible horrible horrible!!!!!!!! there seems to be a running theme with this place! very good on the first visit to order stuff. once they get your deposit these a$$h@le$ know they have you!!!! they lagged on the install dates, destroyed part of my garden because they did not want to cut the granite in the sun in my wide open driveway, and butchered the install. got into a huge verbal dispute with the installer as well as the alleged owner (jaime). without going into a huge story in detail about this place(as i am getting annoyed and pissed just thinking about them again) simply avoid this place and spend the extra grand on home depot!!! the little of money saved was nowhere worth the headache and frustration..... read more

Walked in to get a price for a quartz design that I heard it was good didn't remember the brand but the name of the quartz. The girl in front was very rude and unhelpful. I don't know maybe it was her off day or she didn't like to work there but anyway she was very very rude. Have some respect for potential customers. Asked her for estimate for our kitchen and she told me they charge $300.00 to give me estimate!! It was my first time hearing that for estimate someone charge $300.00 I have been looking around for a while and I have no idea what other people are talking about when say the lowest price!! I can tell you the pricing they are offering are higher than average pricing that you can find. read more

We signed a contract with Planet Stone to deliver a particular set of countertops (TitanStone Java) by a particular date (5-7 days after measurement). We payed our deposit, and had the measurements done. Since then, it has been nothing but run-around from them. First, we were told that the installation could not be done in the time frame promised. Then, after two dozen phone calls that mostly went unreturned, now we are informed that they do not have the quartz promised and cannot get it. They have offered to do the job with a (very different) color, and promise to have it done a week later than originally promised. So the contract has not been honored in any way--they cannot deliver what they promised, when they promised. If they did not have the quartz they should not have signed a contract to deliver it. We have been treated badly, unacceptably, in fact, considering the thousands of dollars the job would cost. We asked Planet Stone to make it right and install countertops in the color we wanted. Instead, they have now canceled our job and promised to refund our deposit and return our sink. They promised to bring the sink today, but did not. So our kitchen will be torn up for at least three weeks longer than planned, and we have had to scramble to find someone else to make countertops for us. Don't believe a word of their "installed in 5-7 days guaranteed" ad. read more

GREAT quality work, excellent prices, but the warehouse is a mess--the ladies who staff the "showroom" acted like I was a lunatic who wandered in off the street, couldn't look me in the eyes, and had zero interest in showing me samples. You also really have to push them to show you the non "name brand" quartz (which is the exact same as the much more expensive "brands"). They also didn't advise that I needed to bring my sink to them, until AFTER I had picked my stone, so I had to drive back. Again, this is the reception workers lack of interest/customer service. The installers did come exactly when they said they would, did a beautiful install, and the stone looks great, so a few glitches was no big deal! read more

I rue the day I was referred to Planet Stone! I would not recommend them - ever! I should have known by how many times I had to call and leave a message for them just to get an estimate that I was in for trouble. It was that way with absolutely everything - an appointment for an estimate - to get the estimate - to get them to pick up our slab - to get an installation date - to get them to come back to fix the debacle that was our installation - and then the same thing with our kitchen (for the slab that we had already purchased). The slab was just installed and part of the counter is loose, we emailed them, they said they'd call back the next day to arrange to have it fixed - of course - no call back. Without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you've got plenty of time, call them. They are definitely inexpensive but, I think I've finally learned that you get what you pay for. They have the rest of our slab for the other bathroom. We're going to pick it up and find someone else. I'd rather do it myself with a hammer and chisel then go back to them. I really can't understand how they stay in business. If the owner of the business knew how bad his office staff was, I'd like to think he'd do something about it. But, the lack of response to customer's calls is really quite offensive - it shows so little regard for the customer. read more

After spending another couple of hours of my life in Planet Stone yesterday, I had to write this review to say just how wonderful Nancy Barrera is. When I first emailed over our kitchen design I shared it from the Ikea website. I waited a couple of days to hear back from them and when I didn't I called again and Nancy was so relieved to hear from me. My contact details she had were wrong or misplaced (I forget now) and she'd been unable to reply to my email as it came from Ikea with no contact details for me. She said she'd tried calling Ikea to get a contact number for me or an email, but Ikea couldn't/wouldn't give it to her, obviously, but I appreciated the effort she put in. Yesterday was my second visit to Planet Stone as the quartz I picked out on my first trip was out of our budget. My husband is deployed with the army right now so trying to choose countertops together using video calls and photos was challenging and time consuming. Nancy was so helpful and patient, making great suggestions and reworking the proposals. Her contact at the slab yard even stayed late, moving multiple slabs so I could hand pick the two we needed. The turnaround time is also fantastic. This time next week I'll be enjoying our new countertops! You couldn't ask for better than that. I read the other reviews about poor customer service and a member of staff being rude and I'm pretty sure they are referring to the other girl who works there. I haven't had much to do with her but from the couple of times she's answered the phone or I've overheard her interacting with other clients, let's just say I'm glad I got Nancy. read more

We hired Planet Stone to do our countertops full back splashes and some wall customizations. Everything came out great. Nancy was great helping us in the store while also juggling phone calls and being patient with us and our 3 kids. Jorge did nice job preparing our various quotes that we requested. Installer, Aurelio was great. Seams on our Quartz countertops are almost invisible. 5 day turnaround time from when measurements were done. Great work . The Planet Stone just finished installing a quartz counter top and backsplash for our kitchen. They've done a fabulous job! The quality of the workmanship is outstanding! Please refer to the photo of the seam, where two pieces of the quartz are joined. It's barely noticeable! Laser precision! Gloria and her husband are very professional and the nicest business owners we've known. Their staff is also very knowledgeable and courteous. House remodeling is extremely stressful, but in this case it was a great relief to work with a competent, skillful and nice group of people. I visited their showroom a few times to look at their samples (and they have a huge selection of different stones and colors) and chose a color. Once I made a decision, I went back to inspect the slab before they cut it. Gloria and everybody there were always very nice and helpful. Their prices are also reasonable! Really like this place. Jaime, the owner, took a great deal of time with me yesterday to select a quartz remnant that would work with my tiles. He gave me a proposal that was $100 less than all the other places I had shopped (many!) I came back today to work with the (very good) design consultant, since I was making myself crazy not knowing which way to go. I decided not to use the ceasarstone from Planet Stone. And yet they were still gracious and offered very good cutomer service. I did not expect much - found them through google. So glad I did find them - will definitely be back! read more

We had a great experience using Planet Stone for a custom Ceasarstone desktop. We had shopped around some and found their prices extremely competitive. It was helpful to be able to see good size samples of all the colors, and the trim styles, in their showroom. The service was very professional. For both our measurement and installation appointments, we were given a window of 9-10am, and both times the guys showed up *early*. (With so many other services, 9-10am usually means they show up at 10:30 or 11, so this was very refreshing!) They did a very careful and accurate job with the measurement and the fabrication, including some tricky details in our installation. We are very pleased with how it turned out, and the Caesarstone looks fantastic. We highly recommend them based on our experience. read more

Giving them 1 star for now. Have called multiple times asking about my warranty and no one has called me back. The first time I called they said the person was on a 2 week vacation and she would know best. The 2nd call, after waiting 2 weeks of her vacation, they told me she was on the other line and would call me back. Never did. The 3rd time I called they said she was busy again and they promised my she would call back tomorrow the latest. Guess what? Never called back. Meanwhile, my kitchen counter they installed has a chip in it and I'm just tying to get my warranty info. Terrible customer service Planet Stone. I'll keep calling until it's fixed, but until then, never will we use them and I'll definitely tell our contractor not to either. Jorge, I have seen your responses in many reviews that customer service is your top priority, but all the negative reviews are about customer service. Maybe need to train staff better. Update 9/3 So, low and behold someone finally comes and looks at it, was very nice, and says they will fix it and btw, they never registered us for the warranty. Nice going. Well, they told me that someone would give me a call to make an appt to come out and fix it and guess what? That was August 25th. Never got a call and now it's 9/3. Pretty ridiculous. This company is something else. I'll keep posting my updates as we go along. Finally came and fixed it in oct. guys we're really nice and did a good job. Moving my review up to 3 stars. Best company I have worked with for my remodel. I was on a really tight budget and ordered quartz countertops based on a web advertisement-http://granitelosangeles.com/ Since they were local I went out to their yard and found that this is who your contractor goes to for countertops- they prepare and install multiple countertops per week. Planet Stone is the source without the added cost of the middleman. They had an all inclusive selection of quartz. Lots of granite also, but I can't comment on choice of colors, etc., as I was not in the market for that stone. As for the service: Excellent. Quick, (5 days from template to installation), on time, organized, good follow-up, neat. Very reasonable in cost. I am totally impressed. We live in a nice beachside community in north Orange County. We completely remodeled three bathrooms and a laundry area. Each bathrooms has full marble slabs. These full slabs weighed between 600-800 pounds each and had to carried upstairs to the second story. Planet Stone employees are the best. They are hard working, polite and careful craftsmen. The bathrooms came out utterly spectacular. The shower floors were designed and installed without dams and were perfectly sloped so they do not puddle. The full marble slabs look seamless and spectacular. The owner/manager came by numerous times to review the job and correct any imperfections. We initially had some miscommunications on my part but they were ironed out. He is an honorable Christian caring man. The workmanship is topnotch. Each morning I look at the slabs in my bathroom and now take longer showers. They are works of art. If you are in a hurry this may not be the best choice. The craft takes time and should not and cannot be rushed. There were some miscommunications regarding timeliness, however we are very, very happy with the end result. read more

Planet Stone did a great job of installing our beautiful Silestone counter-top as part of a full kitchen remodel. Now over two years have passed, and we just had an accident--a dropped dish caused a chip in the counter-top!! Planet Stone to the rescue!! I called them with my problem and they sent two of their guys over. As I oversaw their work, I saw that they exercised care and found them very receptive to my specific requests on how I wanted the repair to be done. They came back a day later to finish the work, to polish it out after the repair had dried. The matching pigment of the repair was done carefully and I'm quite pleased. And, most amazingly--they did it for free! Thanks Alejandra for the repair--the counter-top looks great again! read more

This is my second time using Planet Stone. They are very reasonably priced and easy to work with. We renovated our kitchen 10 years ago and were in the process of a minor renovation where we decided to change the layout. This resulted in two areas needing new granite. We used Planet Stone for our granite work on our rental properties about four years ago and had a similar piece of granite left over that we wanted to use. Planet Stone reviewed my plans via email and sent out Ivan to measure. They picked up my existing stone but we needed new stone for a separate countertop. While the style is the same, the coloring is slightly different which is to be expected when natural stone does not come from the same lot. Jesus and his helper just finished the installation and overall they did a great job. They got the long run of countertop nice and tight against the wall. The seams look good. They took care to place drop cloths all along the recently installed wood flooring. Alejandra in the office was easy to deal with. All emails and phone calls were all handled in a timely manner. I was able to get everything done in less than two weeks. Nice job, everyone! read more

**AVOID** Found this place on google search. Their website advertises free estimate if you fax in their completed form along with a drawing of your countertops and dimensions. I faxed my request in on a Thursday and then called and spoke with a Gloria who confirmed receipt. I waited a few days after that and never received a call back. That right there should have stopped me from purchasing from this business. We ended up going to the showroom a week and a half later on a Saturday. We were met by salesperson Chester who was very nice and spent a lot of time explaining to us all the choices and answered all our questions. He was apologized about not getting a call back for the estimate. We then decided on granite countertop and finished our transaction with Armik who was also very nice. He sold us a stainless steel sink and gave us a good price on it. We paid half of our total bill and was told that someone from their office will call us first thing on Monday to schedule a time for their guys to measure. To make a very long story short, everything went downhill from there. The office staff who answers the phone Alejandra is the absolute worst person to ever deal with. She was very rude to my husband and clearly has no idea what customer service means. There is another lady Gloria who answers the phone who does not speak English. We had to call them several times just to get an appointment to install. The install day ended up being Wednesday. My husband asked about the granite remnants that we were charged $200 for. They were surprised that he asked about them and told him that they did not bring them. I honestly believe that they purposely 'forget' to bring them as most homeowners don't bother asking for them. They promised to bring them later in the day. And of course, just like every other promise they make, they did not show up again that day. After the installers left, my husband and also our handyman inspected their work. A few things were wrong: the hole for faucet was too small (they were provided with the brand new faucet - perhaps they can't read English?), the hole for drinking water faucet was too big, the one end of the counter moves when you barely put pressure on it, and there is a slight slope in the corner. Once again, we had to make several calls to them. Had to deal yet again with the very rude office staff. Jaime, who told us is the owner, have been in contact with us and promised to send the installers over. One guy came (not the orig installer) and corrected the faucet hole, but couldn't offer any solution to the other problems. He says we might need whole new install. What?! He did bring the remnants and they were huge pieces (sell-able pieces so that confirms my theory). Anyway, he called Jaime and he told us that Jaime was coming. Instead, the original installers namely Armando came and gave us so many excuses about their crappy install. He kept insisting that the glue is not yet dry, yet the other countertop is perfectly fine. He talked to us as if we were stupid and after half an hour, we have had enough. My husband ended up kicking them all out of our house...literally told them to get the F off our property. Got Jaime on the phone right away, who again promised to make it right. Jaime came the next day with the same installer and corrected the problem. Really? It was that simple, yet Armando decided to give us BS excuses the day before. And oh, we discovered on the last day that Jaime is NOT the owner. He admitted that he is merely a manager when asked by our handyman. Wow. He lied the whole time. Oops I guess this ended up being very long anyway. Remodeling is stressful as it is and sadly this business is a big FAIL. Go find another place for your remodeling needs. Warning, they do honor their advertised prices for jobs that are less than 25 square feet. They advertise all over the place that they will do quartz countertops for $39.99 installed but that does not include bathroom vanities unless they are over 25 sq. ft. They do not mention the sq. ft. requirement in their advertisements. I seriously doubt they have the lowest prices. They quoted me a price that was double my other quotes, and that was if I chose one of their pre- fab counter tops! Don't waste your time driving all the way out to Sun Valley for this place. read more

When we first went in to planet stone we thought we knew what we wanted...Atlantic Salt Quartz. They had it...but after looking at some other options we settled on Blue Pearl. Chester was great...he helped us find exactly what we were looking for. They took a look at our plans for the kitchen and calculated the square footage and gave us a great price! Installation was great. The installers were very precise as they measured and cut the stone. My stove and refrigerator fit like a glove (just what I was going for)! Chester followed up with me to be sure everything was installed properly and looked good. I could not be more pleased with my new granite countertop. I had Planet Stone install Pental Quartz in my entire home: Kitchen, bathroom, and my wet bar. The service and professionalism was second to none, from Alejandra, to the installers. The installation looks as fantastic - they did a 20ft countertop which then turns into an L and is floating for 6 feet of the run - not easy. The installers did a perfect job seaming the piece together and also matching my uneven wall. The bar is an 8ft L and they did it in one piece. Accidents happen, and the installers cracked my bath vanity countertop during the install, but they handled it great, and replaced the top within a week. My countertops look fantastic, and i have gotten many compliments on them. I highly recomment Planet Stone - thanks guys! read more

Earlier this year, our kitchen and family room were upgraded. The granite and quartzite for our counter tops were purchased at Planet Stone. I received exceptional service in every aspect from color and quality selection to fabrication, installation, and some follow-up/minor touch-ups at the end. I made several visits to Planet Stone until the final decisions were made. I was met each time by the incredible Nancy Berrera who walked me through the entire process each time and was very patient with my numerous questions. Jaime also assisted offering his amazing vision and expertise with his inventory. His guidance was invaluable particularly in identifying materials that pair so beautifully in my home. Also, it was a pleasure working with the measuring, fabrication, installation, and touch-up professionals. Their skills are exceptional! I am so happy with my counter-tops. They are simply gorgeous. Another family member also purchased her counter tops from Planet Stone. She is equally as happy with the results. I must say there is a price point for every consumer of granite at Planet Stone. I have been using Planet Stone for years now for my apartment complex in Culver City and can't say enough great things about them- they have almost done every unit I have!! I always use absolute black, which if you know stone is difficult to work with and shows all mistakes and I haven't had a problem or issue yet! I have never had any bad customer service and usually when they come out to measure they install within two-three days. I feel bad for the people who have had issues but as someone who is constantly doing renovations/remodels etc I feel confident referring Planet Stone to anyone! read more
