Great collection of classic and modern art, as well as sculptures and historical artifacts…read more To enter you can make a donation that is totally optional. My only criticism, and the reason why my review is 4 stars is the lighting in some of the rooms is so bad that the glare does not allow you to see the paintings placed higher on the wall. Very disappointing for a museum of this caliber.

Don't let the long line streaming down the block fool you. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, what I…read moreconsider to be Buenos Aires' answer to "most Met-equivalent museum in South America", is free to enter and the line moves quickly. Seemingly the sole reason for the line is the ticketing process during which you're asked if you'd like to make a donation. There's no pressure and you'll be handed a ticket whatever your response, but the process does slow the surge of guests into the place and that's probably a good thing. This is a very popular, excellent museum. I'm a slow and methodical viewer of art and when I say that I tired of looking at everything before running out of things to look at you get an idea of the size of the collection. I began upstairs, where the more modern collection resides then moved down to the main floor with an extensive collection of, well, everything that wasn't up on the second floor. Wanting to at least see the whole place I moved on to a ground floor extension that housed an Egypt-centric exhibit heavy on Spanish text which I couldn't read. No worries; my attention span was shot. Days later, friends we were traveling with came here. There was still a line but they - with differing tastes than me - confirmed the same findings: this is a great museum. I'm not certain what days and times are least attended but if you're not a fan of crowds you might consider such a question before a visit as the Argentinians seem to know what you're waiting to discover: this place is a treasure.

If you have any interest in Eva Duarte Peron and her impact on Argentina, I would definitely…read morerecommend what we did. My wife and I took a half day tour of some of the important sights including the Casa Rosado, Recoletta Cemetery and ending up at this museum. I am sure what originally peaked my interest was a Broadway Show about her but there was so much more to this amazing story of how she captivated a country and was both loved and despised at the same time. The part that wanted to focus on was the love. Even the building this museum is housed in was a foundation of her foundation to house and educate the poor until they could find alternative living. Giving women the right to vote and becoming a voice for those who needed one. Yes, this also becomes a massive game of politics and this woman totally captivated me even though I learned things about her that did not sit well with me. Translation for me was not an issue as we had our own guide. I did not understand why the clothing could not be photographed. There are plenty of pictures of it right here in Yelp and you would think that there are also thousands of photos while she was actually wearing this clothing. This well maintained museum was a great final stop on my personal "Evita Trail." She was clearly captivating, knew how to speak to a crowd (remember, she was an actress,) and will last in the history book for a long, long time. KUDOS to the team at Museo Evita and the private guides who travel with you.

I am a big fan of Evita and her story. As such, I didn't want to miss this museum…read more It was interesting, but a little disappointing. I think the problem, to be fair, was a lack of English translations for many of the signs. However, I was expecting more. The collection was mostly of her clothing, and a few news reels. In short, it's worth seeing if you are a huge fan--but I wouldn't necessarily go too far out of your way to see this.

Above all its location in palermo neighborhood is great and the staff is friendly and professional. Loved the quick check in check out process. and the price value is amazing. The only reason why it is not a 5 star is just because it doesn't offer breakfast choice and tiny pool as the brother property does. But nothing else. There is a nice breakfast place just across the street. Still great value and I'll be back every chance I get. Trust me it is amazing value!

There is free breakfast in the mornings. The cleaning persons are friendly. That's about everything nice I have to say. We stayed in two different suites over a course of two weeks (we left to another city in the middle and came back to Buenos Aires). The first suite was okay, really clean but VERY old furniture. Everything felt like it was stuck in the 80s. The photos on Google are not accurate. The bathrooms are dark. Some of our lamps had yellow light bulbs and some had blue lightbulbs. All the appliances were very old. It felt like I was staying in a grandma's house. The beds are lumpy and uncomfortable. Our second suite was the one I had a real issue with. It was even OLDER with furniture that was falling apart. I did not sit on anything because everything was just so strange. My father and my little sister are both sensitive to...spiritual things and they both felt weird immediately upon stepping into the room. They did not stay the night because they were uncomfortable. I decided to stay one night with my boyfriend in the second suite and a lot of strange stuff happened. I won't go into details but we both checked out the next morning. I am not a believer in the paranormal, I'm the kind of person that laughs at all those "ghostly encounters" TV shows. However, I was pretty unsettled. We moved to a different hotel down the street. My dad has lived in this area for 50 years. Feir's Park used to be an apartment building, which explains the strange layout. I've been investigating this building online but I haven't found anything yet. Many places in Buenos Aires have a long history.

Pros: 1. Huge room 2…read more Our room had a beautiful balcony, albeit no views. 3. Breakfast available but not great, mostly carbs. The sausage and bacon was horrible and the eggs had no salt. Try the poppy seed cake though, that was good. Cons: 1. Shoddy construction in the room, the floors creaked near the bathroom - no counter space 2.Terribly slow internet, is this a joke 3. I guess the walls are thin because whenever someone is in the hallway and chattering (very often) or even just walking, you can hear every single thing in the room, including all the radio chatter of the service staff. This is especially problematic when your room is near the elevators, then it's a constant. 4. Short Uber ride from most attractions 5. Somehow they are very strict about when breakfast ends. As soon as you walk in, they are like - YOU KNOW IT ENDS IN 15 MINS. Well yeah calm down, and as soon as it strikes 10:30, all the staff descend to take away the food as soon as possible. Calm. Down. 6. Room service is okay, but their closing time is unreliable. Once they said they close at 11:30 and on another occasion they didn't have anything at 11...?! Overall, this is not a 5 star experience at all. More like 3.5 stars I would say. The overall feeling of the hotel is not very warm and welcoming...but it ticks the basic boxes.

Good - Location: Centrally located along main Ave 9 de Julio, a few blocks away from the Obelisk and with a 24-hour grocery store across the street. Plenty of Cafes and restaurants around the area. Average - Service: average at best. Staff is not rude but is very much straight to the point and lacking any genuine interest in your business or concerns. - Knowledge: Staff is not well informed on tour details and/or hotel surrounding. - Breakfast is nothing out of the ordinary, with bread, ham, and cheese served along eggs and drinks. Do not expect any gourmet foods here. Bad - Found bed bugs. - Tiny and claustrophobic rooms, beware of deceiving online pictures. - Squeaky old mattress with giant stains - Poor view - WiFi: only 2g is available in the room, but it is incredibly slow. We have been unable to upload any of our videos/pictures. - Bathroom: Broken shower door. Only half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom upon check-in. Ball of hair in the toilet upon check-in. - Thin walls with doors connecting other guest rooms. I can hear my neighbor cough. - Only 1 outlet available in room. The other is behind the bed making it unreachable. I feel poorly for my companion as this was her first time in Argentina and she has had such a bad experience with this hotel. We will definitely not be coming back.
