The best place to go for all of your health needs - everyone is beyond amazing here! Kiana at the front is so kind and helpful, along with Margaret (forgive me if I spelled her name wrong). She knows just what to say and how to help with easing your nerves. There were protestors but they're quite peaceful and don't bother you which is highly surprising and didn't make me feel uncomfortable walking in and out. I'm a low income collage student, and PP works with my insurance in figuring out the best payment option as well as making sure my insurance can cover anything before continuing my appointments. Teresa helped me in easing my mind and treating me with so much respect and listening to me - the patient! Well...That did NOT go as planned. First, I check in and sit next to a sweet old lady who is there to "support the young folks." Lovely. Except she loudly starts telling me about how "back in her day," condoms were made out of who knows what and "pulling out was just called good timing." Great. Then, my name is called, but instead of going to the exam room, I somehow end up in a prenatal class. A nurse is enthusiastically handing me pamphlets about pregnancy nutrition while I awkwardly whisper, "Uh, I think there's been a mix-up." The instructor just smiles and says, "No judgment, honey. We all get scared at first." After FINALLY getting redirected, I meet the doctor--who, bless her soul, is the most cheerful person I've ever encountered. She starts explaining IUDs using a sock puppet. A SOCK PUPPET. I am sitting there, trying to process my life choices, while a googly-eyed piece of fabric named Miss Copper Coil tells me about long-term contraception. Just when I think the chaos is over, the fire alarm goes off. Half-dressed patients in paper gowns are running into the hallway, the old lady from the waiting room is leading an impromptu prayer circle, and someone shouts, "WHO MICROWAVED A TAMPON?!" Extremely clean and mostly amazing nurses but with the years I've been coming here AMY is truly the worst nurse she talks about how she has a background as a school nurse and isn't fond of prescribing things and when I asked for a full panel because I believed I was exposed after an assault she said I should come back in 3MONTHS since I have my most recent test 4 months ago. Went in with a friend of mine to get a procedure done where she would be sedated and everything was cool at first. The employees was polite and the facility seemed modern. As we entered the procedure room, I noticed that the garbage was over flowing. I mentioned it to the person that walked us in and she said she'll talk to someone. A short young Hispanic lady, she said her name was Mar, came in and told me that since the garbage was "non-hazardous" that they weren't going to change it. Appalled I said "ok, well I'll change it myself". She raised her voice at me as I was grabbing gloves saying " you have to leave, you have to leave" and I politely ignored her as I changed the garbage. She opens the door to the hall while my friend is partially undressed yelling for assistance. I calmly walk out as about 10 people surrounded me and explained what was going on. A young black girl apologized and took the garbage from me to put it away. The manager and I went to talk in the waiting room and she also apologized. I went back into the room and the procedure commenced. All in all, Mar was unprofessional and caused an unnecessary scene at a time where people need the most comfort. The facility needs better management and should never have trash from previous patients overflowing in a procedure room when a new patient walks in. If you never been to planned parenthood, one of the most safest, caring and feeling protective as an female clinic. I thought planned parenthood was not important as much. I was totally wrong, this is an eye opener. Planned parenthood is awesome they do protect your gender and identity. The staff like most clinic are rude, however coming here, the staff and the nurses and APN are super welcoming and very friendly. There is no discrimination or anything from planned parenthood. Make the appointment on online it's important. Once that, you have to make a phone call to a specific number you have to fill the forms. Then another phone comes in, which you would wait in your car like 15 to 20 min. After that you are taken inside, and make sure you agree to there policy. If you do have insurance the can make a copy from the physical or the one on your phone too. The nurse, APN and everyone there is so friendly and welcoming. If you got questions or concerns do not hesitate to ask any questions. They will answer everything that's on your mind. read more

I understand why people go here, PP is extremely helpful for people who have a low budget or don't have insurance. Which that person being me at one point, I respect. However, I felt like I was just a number that needed to be rushed through the process. For example, last month I was having severe pain, long headaches almost everyday, excessive bleeding, and all of my joints were were stiff and my muscles were sore. On top of it all I had a 102 temp. When I called to make the appointment, the woman said they only had a 2:30. I showed up at 2:20. However I ended sitting in the waiting room until 3:30. No problem, I am aware you have to wait sometimes. So I wasn't super upset. When I was called, the nurse took me into a room and asked me why I was there. I started mentioning everything that was happening. And she basically looked at me like I was an idiot and said "well what do you think is wrong?" And I was like IDK LMAO ISNT THAT YOUR JOB? So I told her I had no idea what was going on which was the reason for my visit. And basically the whole appointment I felt like an inconvenience. She took a urine sample only to tell me I wasn't pregnant. Like NO SHIT IM ON A PERIOD SENT FROM HELL. LONG STORY SHORT: After being there for close to 2 hours I had ZERO answers. I ended up going to an actual doctors office. And spoke to a Ob/Gyn that actually cared, and did numerous things to find the problem. She also scheduled a follow up appointment. Where is PP was basically like "yea idk.. bye!" Both of the visits at PP and Edwards were covered by my insurance. If you have insurance go to an actual doctors office. You will feel like your problems are actually relevant, and won't feel like you are an inconvenience. ***EDIT*** it's been two months since I posted my original review. I still haven't received ANY test results that planned parenthood said I would get in the mail. No call, No email, No text, nothing. I got my results for the same tests I took at Edwards hospital about a week and a half after the visit. So not only was it a horrible visit, but I didn't even receive any results from them. I went here a few times for gynecological issues when I couldn't get an appointment with my regular gynecologist. Driving into PP is quite a sight: usually a bunch of protesters with picket signs of aborted fetuses and assorted other meaty images. Pull into the parking lot and they wait with baited breath to start screaming their agendas at you. Get out of your car and oh boy, here it comes. One of the last times I went there was for a pap and dysmenorrhea. I was not pregnant, nor have I ever been pregnant. And yet, the following exchange happened: Protester: This goes against God's plan! Let me quote to you a Bible passage that might vaguely refer to what you're doing but not really! Me: I'm not pregnant, I'm just fat! Thanks! Thankfully by the time my appointment was over, all of the protesters went away and I could walk to my car in peace without hearing a cacophony of Christian overtones. Honestly, I like what Planned Parenthood does for women, and this is a wonderful facility with a very nice staff. They are non-judgmental, friendly, and honestly care about women's health. If I could delegate my tax dollars, I'd put it all toward PP and NASA. And the education system so we can stop raising uninformed, ignorant idiots. A tip: they play loud classical music outside before you walk into the facility, but it might behoove you to bring your earbuds. Those protesters are LOUD. read more

I needed to get a birth control prescription and couldn't find a gynecologist near me that my insurance covered. So I turned to planned parenthood, my insurance was accepted there and they made sure I was very informed and comfortable. There was one woman outside with a sign protesting when I came in, but she was across the street, technically off of their property I'm assuming. But otherwise I felt completely at ease and it was very similar to any other doctor I've been to, except they seemed very invested in my preferences and care more than some other doctors have. This center is super clean and very welcoming. You do have to show ID before you are let in, but given the occasional protester they have outside, it's understandable. My NP was professional, amazing and very easy to talk to. I used the online appointment system without a problem. Able to get the Gardisil vaccine without any issues. This facility is the nicest Planned Parenthood I've ever visited. I've visited other Planned Parenthoods in San Diego, CA but they weren't as large, clean, and organized as the Aurora center. Setting up an appointment: CALL do not use their online appointment system. Otherwise you won't get an appointment. Location: It is so difficult to find! When you're on New York Rd, look for the Dominick's store and turn into the driveway at Oakhurst Apartments. Staff: VERY friendly! They are so sweet and helpful. The building was slightly hard to locate for me. It's in the same entrance as the Mariano's Grocery store but, not in the same plaza/building. Slightly tucked away. No large signs, just the label on the door. Brown building. You do need an ID to enter the building and they're pretty strict on it. The Aurora Planned Parenthood made my experience better than I had expected it to be. I've been to several varies locations being as my birth control and yearly exams are provided by PP & the aurora location is the biggest, friendliest and cleanest. I was told this was the perfect place to help me with my bc t was my only option at the time. I was told they help out people with loud income. When I told them about my situation they still told me t was only way they would even check on me is paying $100+ while my friend don't pay anything. So I'm using my boyfriend account since I'm too lazy to make my own. I've just recently visit this clinic was super nervous since it was my first time. Seem kind of intimidating because of the entrance and there's just a window for someone to speak to you. But once youre in they're very patient and kind. I waited about maybe 35 mins. Had to fill out forms, so maybe faster if it's already done before hand. Then I was consulted by Teresa the first half of my visit. She's super nice and explained all the questions I had. She was super healthful and was even able to look into if I qualify for 50 to 100% no charges. Which honestly helped me so much since I was a low income full time worker.... money is always an issue but this place is very accommodating and will try to do what they can. And then the doctor was right after her, she was very straight forward . She wasn't rushing or any sort just finish and told me what I needed to know. This location is the only one in the burbs, but it is definitely worth the hike for me. I needed to come here because I lost my job, and therefore, don't have insurance or an income to go to my regular gyno to refill my bc prescription. Heck, if this place was closer, I'd forfeit my gyno all together. The cost just to see the clinician is $80 out of pocket, but they are willing to work with you, even if you don't have proof that you need financial assistance, which is incredible. The ladies that work here are kind, and helpful, and I'm incredibly thankful for this organization, and the fact that I am still able to take care of myself as a woman without an income. I'd like to say overall my experience was phenomenal. I was very nervous about getting my procedure done, throughout the whole process up until the point of waiting to be called, I was so extremely nervous. I came in for abortion and coming to this decision was what was best for me considering I am just going to start college, I don't have the funds, and the staff was so kind in comforting me. When it came to the point of going in for my procedure, the nice young lady came out and called my name my heart wrenched from being so nervous. She introduced herself as Mar, she was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and eased my mind. when we were waiting for the doctor to come in, she talked to me as I was a friend which made me feel more welcomed and comfortable. Made me giggle a bit, and overall cheered me up when I was crying momemnts before. Throughout the procedure she was holding my hand and just talking to me and helping me do breathing exercises. Do not come here! My worst experience ever! I have been here at this location about 3 times since I moved here from California. I always loved planned parenthood in California but I guess they have a different system here where they're being so rude and racist?!(I'm Asian). I'm sitting here right in front of this location now after visited them and I still cannot get over it. So what happened was, I always made appointment before I came in the last few times but by some reason the system was down or somehow I couldn't make appointment online before today.( Of course they would never pick up your fone when you call to make appointment) so I decided to walk in instead. The front desk girl greeted me like i'd been convicted to some type of crime or sth. I saw her before the last couple times and she was always rude but I was whatever cuz I was just check in then go inside. But today, I said 'hi' to her and She gave me a huge attitude with a spike eyes ; "your id?"....????? Ok so I told her that I didn't have appointment, then she told me the next one will be at 3(it was 1 at the time). I thought I couldn't make it so I told her that I will come back at another time. Then,she threw away my id back to me without even looking at me and didn't even say sth??? seriously??? Why you acted so bitchy? What kind of service is that? what is your problem? Your boss treated you that bad so u always have to take it all on us? If you're not happy with the job then go find somewhere else to work! Don't ruining the business! So based on stigma, I was hesitant to try this place but I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I had to go on Saturdays which apparently there are always protestors out there on Saturdays who can be a little, ahem, "extreme" but the warmth of the staff quickly puts you at ease when you walk in the door. I had Joy (who is seriously awesome) take my vitals and medical history and I literally cannot say enough amazing things about her!! She was so easy to talk to and was great with answering my questions. She is just phenomenal. My doc was Stephanie who also was out of this world! She blew my private gyno out of the water and made a procedure that is supposed to be rather painful as comfortable and quick as possible. She's also very sweet and easy to talk to. This place is not at all what I was expecting and will have no problem going back. The staff is extremely professional and welcoming! I liked them better than my old gyno office. read more

I've been coming to this place a few times. I've always had a problem with something every time I come and workers seem not to be able to fix it EVERY TIME. I scheduled an appt. for 10:45 today and it's 11:30 and I'm still not in. I came in at 10:20, 25 minutes earlier, so I can get in at 10:45. I have school and I have to drive here about 50 minutes. The workers are totally unprofessional when things like this occur and EVERY TIME I come here something happens. Going to Planned Parenthood was initially a terrifying experience. I was there to get back on birth control and instead found out that I was 21 weeks pregnant. I was shocked and scared and had no idea what to do, but the staff was amazing in helping me out. Teresa in particular was so, so wonderful. She sat with me and hugged me while I cried, helped me through the process of getting an ultrasound and getting in contact with a social worker and finding a different clinic to help me further. To some degree, I am still a fan. I started going here when I did not have insurance or an Ob/Gyn. All my past experiences were good. Felt very comfortable with the staff from time of entry till departure. Only major issue was with last visit. The clinician / CNA doing the basic weight and such did not seem to know what she was doing and every thing was scribbled down on a new patient form that I had re-fill out. Never once did my medical chart / history get used so not sure how they could know if any changes were taking place. Only other disappointment was every year or two, I am being seen by a new PA. They were there when I needed them, facility is clean and I understand why the security and safety measures are in place. I prefer that, then have to worry about the religious whackos getting inside the facility. Just wish that staff would remain constant, as I am more comfortable with medical staff who know me and not having to go in for yearly exam as if I am being seen by a new group every year. read more

Like seriously I was really upset about that because I drove 40 minutes to get there, until Teresa talked to her manager and they allowed us to still go in for my appointment which I was happy about and Amy was a really nice and generous person I would Recommend her to anyone that wants a birth control insertion very resourceful,nice, and sweet lady as well as Valerie. I'll just tell you about my full in-clinic abortion experience from start to finish. Hopefully it will answer any questions you have. I decided to have the procedure and I returned to work the next day with hardly any pain or bleeding. If you are having the procedure done, I have a few tips for you. Buy the biggest thickest pads you can find in the smallest quantity pack. And some regular sized ones just incase. Personally, I probably only needed 3 heavy duty pads, and a handful of regular ones. My appointment was for 10:30, but me and my boyfriend arrived around 10. The protesters werent too bad. They arent allowed on the property but still yell things at you. The things they yelled at me were, "you don't have to do this, you don't have to do this!" "I got an abortion when I was 14." "You two make such a cute couple, you don't have to do this. You have choices!" When you walk in, it kind of reminded me of a jail. Thick glass at the check-in. (Have your ID out and ready) Lots of cameras inside and out, and every door you go through you have to be buzzed in. It may sound scary, but for me it was a sense of security. You fill out some paperwork, and the waiting begins. The waiting room is big and clean, they have a TV and magazines and free Wi-Fi but it wasn't really working. At some point they will ask you to empty your bladder in preparation for your ultrasound to confirm how far along you are. It's super quick and they ask you ahead of time if you would like to know if there are twins, if you want to see the screen, and if you would like a printout (I was 11 weeks. I chose to look at the screen, but I didn't want a print out.) Then you go back out in the waiting room and wait some more. After a while they will take you back for Lab work. They prick your finger and take some blood to find out your RH factor and check your hemoglobin. They also give you an antibiotic with some water and check your blood pressure. Eventually they call in for your education session. This is where they go through what to expect, what side effects are normal, and what is not. They go through any questions you may have. When I made my appointment I had the option of doing everything awake, under a anti-anxiety drug (ativan), or being completely sedated with Anastasia. ( I chose to be completely sedated because I was afraid of pain I may have.) They ask you if your home is safe, if someone you trust is there with you after the procedure to make sure you are safe. They ask if you are in a abusive relationship, or are threatened or being forced to get an abortion. At this time they tell you to go to the bathroom and put on a pad in prep for the procedure. And then back out in the waiting room. Then they call you up to one of the booths to make your payment. Whether you do the abortion by pill or the procedure with or without sedation it's all the same price. $450. Then back to waiting.... An eternity later...... they call you back for the procedure. They bring you into a small room were you undress from the waist down and give you a paper like sheet to just wrap around you and you walk out into the procedure room. Everyone in there was super kind and made me feel comfortable. You meet the nurse anesthetist and it was very comforting to hear her say she will be with me through the whole procedure. I already knew she would be there throughout the whole thing, but it was nice and reassuring that she verbalized and that. They check your blood pressure, hook you up to a nasal cannula for oxygen, and start the IV. Before they give you the anesthesia they go through your name and date of birth what you are here for, and what type of abortion you are having. You agree to it, and then they will gives you the anesthesia. You feel it go in and then you start to feel dizzy but very relaxed. About 15-20 minutes later, you are in the recovery area. They give you juice or soda, crackers or goldfish. Once you start to come out of the anesthesia, they ask you to go to the bathroom with your IV, and then go over some at home care. They give you some ibuprofen to take home, a prescription for painkillers. Throughout this whole process everyone was very professional, non judgemental, and will listen to you if you have any questions. They asked me probably a thousand times if I had any allergies. They told me not to have any food or drink 8 hours before the procedure. But honestly, with the amount of waiting I did I probably could have had an early breakfast. I was there for about 7 hours. My experience with this facility was wonderful! The only reason I am only giving 4 stars is because of the wait time. I don't know if they do this on purpose so you can think your decision over, or if it is only one doctor on site. read more

I've been going to PP almost 2 years now and I've always had good experiences but today was absolutely the best! I recently got switched (not my choosing) to a different insurance plan with Catholic physicians that wouldn't allow me to use my insurance at PP and wouldn't allow me to get contraceptives with their own doctors if it wasn't for health related reasons only. So I figured I would have to pay out of pocket for my depo shot which is pretty pricey for me since I only work weekends because I focus my time in my schooling so I can have a career as a biomedical engineer. PP has this amazing thing called Title X that helps reduce the cost of contraceptives for women like me whose health providers deny the coverage of contraceptives offered at PP or for women who don't have insurance in general. Thanks to Title X I'm covered 100% but also thanks to Teresa, an amazing employee who was so welcoming and caring, for informing me that I was financially covered if I wanted to switch to the IUD which I have always wanted to but had always been much too expensive to afford before. Teresa doubled checked everything and set an immediate appointment for me so I can switch contraceptives while I still can before the Trump administration tries to defund Planned Parenthood. It's sad how some religious people believe that government money funds abortion which is an absolute lie. Government funding helps PP solely on things like STD testing, preventative care, and Title X that has helped so many women like me who can't afford birth control on their own. And if the Trump administration succeeds in defunding PP it would just take away the help Planned Parenthood offers to its patients. Thank you Teresa!!! I am so grateful for you and all the employees at Planned Parenthood that helps empower women to take control of their own reproductive system at an affordable price because of Title X. read more

I had an appointment at 9am for a pregnancy and I didn't get brought back for it till 9:45. I don't understand why it is I made an appointment to have to wait 45 minutes to pee in a cup and get results. and the woman who assisted me at the second desk had no personality and shook her head at me, I never felt so judged and disrespected I would never go back and I would never recommend this Planned Parenthood to anyone. As for the first desk that you have to check in at they were very unprofessional talking about the people outside protesting, how they're just gonna keep driving and hope they don't hit one of the people outside. It's understandable how the people outside are frustrating, and can be pushy. However it's very unprofessional to talk in your workplace in front of patients that your checking in, about other people in that manner. between the staff and a 45 minute wait for my appointment I'll never go back nor will I recommend this planned parenthood location to anyone. I have been going to PP for many years and I have been going to this location for four years. It is very busy but everyone is incredibly nice. This time I had Teresa helping me and she was incredibly thorough and supportive. She made sure to not only ask all the required questions but to really listen to my answers and ask appropriate follow-up questions. She was great! My only problem is that the people who answer the phone are not really on top of the schedules for annual paps. This is the second time I been in and told I needed to get a pap only to find out that they are now on a three to five year schedule. The first time was three years ago so I called to make sure I had to get one, I was told that I did but after a long wait and checking in, changing, etc, the doctor told me I do not have to get an exam for another two years. Again, I think they are just not familiar with the schedule and look at the bare minimum for dates. However, everyone was extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The other issue I had was in the waiting room, there were two couples by me and one was very upset and crying and the other was laughing and goofing off and I just found it incredibly rude to be so loud when someone was obviously going through a lot that day. There are no guidelines for the waiting room so clients can essentially do whatever there, but I thought it was pretty inconsiderate, so if you are heading here, know that others might be facing difficult situations and try and be respectful! The actual facility is a little tricky to get to but once you have been there you wont forget it. You will need to show your ID at the front desk and you will need to be buzzed in, this is for everyone's safety so don't take any frustrations out on the front desk worker. If you have children with you, you will need to have an adult with you to watch them as the signs say they are not allowed in the exam room with you. Overall, I would highly recommend this PPh for anyone in the area. read more
