Wait time was about 30 minutes. I was in and out within an hour. Bathroom was pretty bad. And the room that I was in was in a little bad condition. I noticed how the nurse came in and didn't wash her hands but grabbed gloves and drew blood out from my finger. Another nurse came in and grabbed gloves and drew blood from my arm. There are NO HAND WASHING! The tray was NOT cleaned. It could've been but there were no towel laying down as an effort of sanitary. I'll be honest. I was very disappointed in my experience. The front desk staff and the medical assistants were really ehhhh in my opinion. Id go up to the front and try to ask questions or speak with them and they would ignore or not notice me because they were to busy giggling and messing around together. I get it I am 27 but still. I waited awhile and there was just poor communication from them all around. On one of the hardest moments of my life this did nothing to put me at ease. They just all seamed way to immature to be taking care of such vulnerable people. Id just ask they take their job a little more seriously and be considerate of others feelings. They seamed uneducated on what people may be going through and even the "counseling" that I got was sooo ehhh. Monotone voices from the front and my nurse, to me this really felt like they just didn't care, didn't want to be there etc. read more

What's the point of making an appointment when they make you wait over an hour to be called in.

Very welcoming, understanding and thorough service. There were 3 kind ladies sitting outside the front door to welcome me into the clinic. The staff members were informative, professional, and approachable. The receptionist who helped me, a younger man with thick frame glasses, was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. Imelda thoroughly took all my medical information and provided great service. She was friendly, professional, and made me feel very comfortable. My wife and I have been coming here for years. The services are great so we always come back here to the Fulton St. location. It's simpler than going to our primary care doctor. There are some things to keep in mind when coming here. Number one, there are usually some protestors talking at cars and waving flyers on both sides of the Fulton St. driveway. Don't look at them when you get out of your car or its an invitation to be lectured about whatever. Thats normal. I tell my wife its the deluxe experience. Just roll your windows up before you get here. Number two, the cell reception is spotty at best within a two bock radius of this building. I have to drive up a couple blocks to get solid reception. That issue could be fixed with a residential type, low-cost cellular antenna and signal amplifier kit from an electronics store. Number three, when you show up for your appointment, you will most likely be waiting for 1/2 to one hour. Sometimes longer. Don't try to do this on your lunch break unless you are quickly swinging by to pick up a free bag of condoms, if you need that sorta thing. The staff are generally pleasant. But being late for an appointment is not a good idea. So set aside a good hour plus for your appointment. Or you can show up any day for a walk-in visit. I'd go as soon as they open for that. I think I almost died... So if I remember correctly... injection of air into the blood stream is fatal (the extra air can cause a blockage in the system... or something) and what not. I'm not a nurse or a doctor, so don't take my word seriously, but I remember learning that we should ALWAYS tap the shots to get any air out first, right? Well, this one chick who gave me my Gardasil shot (I'm thankful for that, of course, cuz it was free) almost injected a huge air bubble into me... I thought she was going to tap it out first, because she was more experienced than i was, but when started to inch in to my arm to inject that shot... I told her to stop and tap it out first. I find this scary to interfere with a more knowledgeable person and correct her for it. That whole airbubble thing may be precaution, but I rather feel safe, than sorry.... and I did not feel safe after that incident. Forget the needle, watch out for the air bubble! Otherwise, a great visit.. only cost me $5 for the shot :) whoo! it's not bad to be poor... not! read more

I scheduled an appointment and they said that I'll be receiving a phone call appointment first and then an in-person appointment after. The day of the phone appt. I didn't get a phone call. But yet they called me the day before calling to confirm it. I called the place and was waiting for at least 2 hours on the phone. read more

The absolute most incompetent medical staff I have EVER come across. It took almost three months to get needles for my hormones called in. They were called in incorrectly even after this!! The center manager Jerry doesn't want to help even though I've asked to speak with the district manager about this issue and many more I have had with their lack of health care services. I've been told time and time again that she would contact me and excuse after excuse is made. Jerry refused to bring this issue to anyone above the district manager. Horribly run, if you are transgender I would avoid going here for medical care because you won't get it!!! Not to mention the nurse practitioners don't understand some of what they say is transphobic and incorrect. I know more about my medical care then they do. HORRIBLE PLACE!!! I'll start this off by saying I'm trans (ftm). I wanted to write a detailed review for anyone else going through transition and wants to know what it's like getting HRT (hormone replacement therapy) from this location. I live in Venice CA. Three and a half hours from this PP. I decided to come here because it's the closest PP that offers this service and because I knew about their informed consent method regarding HRT. Therefore, the easiest and quickest way to get on hormones. I made an appointment on Feb 13th 2017 and the soonest appointment available was March 14th 2017 (prior to getting an appointment i had to call multiple times to try until they had a appointment available for a new patient). On my appointment day I got there about 20 mins earlier because I knew I had to fill out paperwork. While I was at the window getting the paperwork they were respectful and discreet and asked me if I was "mtf or ftm" on a piece of paper and also asked for the proper name/pronouns I go by. Amongst the paper work was a informed consent packet, asks a few questions about your background and history as a trans person (you take this packet with you into the doctors office). After I did all the paperwork, I waited.....for over an hour. Long wait but worth it. When I was finally called back they took my blood pressure, weight, height, and a urine sample. Then they directed me to a private room and the nurse talked to me a bit and gave me this envelope with trans related papers; trans health care, how to legally change name and gender marker, local resources, and also packet on how to do an intramuscular testosterone shot. Once I talked with the nurse shortly after, the doctor came to talk to me. The doctor went over my family health history, my health and sexual history, if I had any surgeries, asked me about my social transition, and eventually went over what to expect while taking testosterone. After we talked about testosterone expectations she asked me if I had an questions or concerns and eventually asked me "so are you sure you want this" doctors have to ask this even though, hello, yes of course I want this hah. After she left I got blood work done (note: you do not have to fast for this particular blood work!) and the nurse then showed me how I'd do my injection. When all that was done I went to pay for the visit and it came out to $100.04 exactly. I have insurance but it didn't cover the visit (everyone's insurance is different). My appointment was on a Tuesday the doctor said my lab results (aka blood work) would be done by Thursday. I called on Thursday because they hadn't contacted me, they didn't have my results yet. The next day, Friday they called me and told me my results came back perfect and that they would send my prescription over to my local pharmacy and said my pharmacy would contact me. I got my prescription that same day, Friday. Went home. Stabbed my self in the leg with a syringe. And now here I am 4 days on testosterone. Boom. It was really fast and I'm so grateful for planned parenthood for making this experience easier for me! *this is my personal experience and everyone's is different* If anyone has any questions regarding transition or hormones, message me, I'll gladly answer any questions you have! read more

I absolutely love this clinic. It's not in the best of neighborhoods but well worth the drive for me. The staff is great, and always make me feel well taken care of and never rush me out. They take their time to explain and answer any questions I have. I used to go to the location of first and Bullard but they are no where near comparison to staff here at the Fulton clinic. The wait time for me is usually shorter than the first and Bullard location as well read more

Ive been coming here for years and donated countless times but saturdays appointment on 12/16/17 was beyond comprehension. I scheduled an appointment online to refill by birth control I was all out and needed to start a pack the next day, I arrived a minute late to my appointment and the medical assistant there said it would be a long visit i asked why and he said they would have to do an hc and not only that but theres informed me theres no grace period so now i have to take time out of my work week and ask for the time off at work to be seen. I work in hanford, I get back in town at 6pm. Which defeats the purpose of my appointment being on a saturday my day off. He said no theres nothing they can do. I repeated that i was just there to refill my birth control but he thought it best to make the decision for me, i would have me reschedule my entire appointment because itd be a long appointment for that health check. And now i have to wait for my birth contol and possibly restart my whole cycle. Its really shocking that he was making a health decision FOR me instead of letting me refill my prescription now and schedule the HC when it best suited my schedule. Its my body after all, my choice not his because i know my appointment isnt as important as him getting out of work early. Needless to say I left. With no birth control and no proof that there's grace period policy on appointments. A lie i feel he told because he didnt feel the need to help, I feel really bad for the next woman who gets denied service because this guy has other priorities. read more

I try really hard every time to be positive while I'm here. I understand that this is a non profit organization and the services provided really do help me a lot. however, I don't understand why you need an appointment to be seen if you're not going to actually be seen for more than an hour and a half AFTER you check in. this happens every single time I'm here, I can always count on it. if I had any other option, I would've stopped coming here years ago. but I don't. so I have to constantly put up with the bullshit that goes on in this office. just be aware that if you go out of your way to wait half an hour on the phone line waiting to make an appointment, you might as well do a walk in because it takes just as long if not more. this system sucks. read more

I'm so mad at this place! After getting my paraguard iud I started breaking out. Acne all over my face and I can't seem to get rid of them. I read the paper that they provide about the pros and cons on the marina iud and paraguard iud and of course the paraguard sound like a better choice. But now I'm regretting it so much. I hate my face. I feel like they just want to rush you and hurry the hell up. I read on other websites that if your already acne prone the iud is not good for you. Im acne prone but I havent break out like this since i was 16! And im 29 now. Ladies before picking the best birth control for yourself please talk to these so call doctors about concerns of weight gain, acne, and hair loss. I wish I knew all of this before getting the paraguard iud. Remember do your research first. I've learned that most girls on the paraguard iud didn't get any signs until 8 months to 1 yr after getting it. I started breaking out 8 months into it. I really hate how this happened to me. read more

I recently got a surgical abortion at this planned parenthood location in Fresno, CA. Usually I go to the planned parenthood on first street but they don't provide surgical abortion services. Although it was my first and only time going to this location, I thought it was very nice. All the nurses were very nice and caring. I told them I was allergic to some medication so they were able to substitute medications. I was also afraid of being put to sleep for the operation so instead they have a great alternative. They use a mild sedative, and the doctor puts the sedative in your IV when he gets in the operating room. The sedative kicked in very quickly and lasted only about an hour. Afterwards there is a waiting room where they put all the girls in who just went through the procedure. There are many nurses in there who ask if you need anything. They provide you juice water and crackers and of course a vomit bag. They check your vitals three times every 10 minutes. Once the 30 minutes are up, they assist you outside to your ride. But before you go they give you a bag with condoms, birth control of your choice, and emergency contraception. The nurses seemed nice the doctor was careful. I would recommend this planned parenthood location. read more
