It turned out it was too late in the year to proceed due to possible severe weather since I live in the mountains and the paint I researched and wanted to use was not viable in cold or wet weather. When I contacted Sequoia Paint again in July 2026, not only had the personnel changed but the phone numbers changed as well. I mention that because there may be big problems with this company that cause them to lose personnel and change phone numbers. I proceeded anyway to have an estimator come to my house. I was interested in a specific paint that is fire retardant from a company called Andek. When Justin the estimator came, he worked with me to fill a questionnaire related to the paint. I found that strange but did it anyway. The next day, I realized that Justin had switched to a different paint from a different company called Shield Industries without consulting with or informing me. When I emailed to clarify, Justin was beyond rude to me, gaslighting and blaming me for the confusion about paints and companies. I'm not willing to be treated with disdain by a contractor. Thankfully, I do have another contractor I've met with who has both a stellar reputation and is a wonderfully decent human being. I will be giving the other contractor my business.

I am a 67 year old disabled women on a fixed income and I feel like I was taken advantage of. I had my old wooden house stripped down to the wood. Greg, "Hernandez painting" was suppose to seal the house, then use a primer next then paint it, and do the same with one small room inside my home. They filled in cracks with a cheap indoor caulking that shrunk after it dried. They didn't let the wood filler dry before spraying the white paint, white paint that was mine that I had sitting around leftover from years ago, as the primer They also used alot of my supplies. Then before the white paint and the filler dried they sprayed the paint, a paint color that I didn't agree to but the house was half painted with this dark bluish color before I saw it. The foreman was painting the white primer then a short period later I came out to look and he was already spraying the house with this horrible color, before even letting the white dry good. I wanted slate gray but when I said something Greg kept insisting this color was better and after awhile I just let it go. Same with the trim. I wanted a different color but Greg said white would make it pop and he wanted to make this a show house. He is a fast talker and a liar. After he was paid the house dried and the caulking shrunk and the filler fell out and the paint is peeling everywhere. I contacted him and he stated he would come fix it but he would never show up. We made many appointments for him to come out, but he was always a no show. I text him and he stated he was not coming out to fix anything. He threatened me with using his sister who is a judge because he said I was racist because I referred to his workers as those guys, who I have proof were illegal. He doesn't pay his workers what they are owed, he tells them he will call the cops and say they stole his tools or something of that manner. I am the last person who is racist. I got along well with all his employees, except the foreman, even complimenting Mr. Torres for going above and beyond on his work and job performance on the construction work he did on the inside room. Most of the guys were hardworking guys who did a good job except for the foreman who did the lousy job of painting the house, but it was because Greg was telling him to get it done that he was losing money on this job, I overheard Greg on the foremans cell phone. The inside room, Mr. Torres did an excellent job on what he was able to get done, until Greg told him to stop and another guy sprayed the room using no primer over green paint, so of course it didn't cover. But the guys had to leave it that way because I heard Greg on the phone telling them to leave right then. I cleaned up the mess everyday after they left. I gave them snacks and drinks etc.. so now I need him to come back and repair and complete the job and this is where we made appointments after appointments but he would always be a no call no show. I was getting upset with him so I text him, and I have everyone of his rude texts saved, were he does nothing but lie and threaten me. He stated he would come and fix it on his time table and whenever he wanted to. Then he stated he was not going to fix it at all and threatened me with his sister who is a judge who would see it his way. If I wasn't laid up with multiple back surgeries I would have sued him already and a few of his workers want to join me.. Jacki his wife was rude to me and lied all the time about where Greg was and stood up for him, saying he had a stroke, Dr. Appointments, out of town with the church etc. It appears they both are mean nasty liars. You better check his background of bankruptcies, business names changes etc. He's cocky, rude lousy business owner, does lousy work, never stays on the job site, talk very badly about other people, says people steal from him and non stop putting people down trying to make himself appear saintly. I am not finished with him yet and could use more people who have similar incidents with him even if it's a sworn statement of what he did to your property. He is honest, friendly and very knowledgable about painting, including preparation, product and application. He listened to us and made helpful suggestions during the discussions about painting the exterior of our house. His estimate was one of three but his was the only one that included sufficient detail and explanation that convinced us that he understood not just what we wanted but what he was getting into with this job. He personally took charge of the contract signing and payments. We feel we received great value for the price. Prime Painting's experienced crew took direction from Mr. Arias and, under his leadership and guidance, they worked side by side with him performing prep work including power washing stucco and patching damaged siding, before launching into the spray painting followed by the detailed hand painting. Communication was very open and timely. Despite, several interruptions by rain followed by some drying out time, the job was completed close to the schedule. The crew even worked on a weekend and at least one nearly 12-hour day to play catch up!! Mr. Arias also went above and beyond and took care of some special requests as part of the overall job. We were so impressed with the work that we commissioned a new job from Prime Painting to coat our patio deck!! We are also planning to use Prime Painting to freshen up the inside of our house because of their attention to detail that is so important with interior trim.
