LOVE coming out to Plateau Chiro! I actually found this place through Yelp and I have not been disappointed at all. I believe I've been coming to Plateau Chiro for 3+ years now. There's about 5 other Chiro offices around where I live, but I'm so glad I drive out farther instead. Dr. Matthews is very warm and kind. I also like that he takes time to chat with you in regard to the mechanisms and postures that are causing the issues. I used to be so very nervous about getting adjusted because I know a handful of friends who had bad experiences from their own chiropractor. My mind is eased because Dr. Matthews always reassures me and says "I got you, I got you" in certain position/adjustments- sounds funny but that is really what makes me relax. The office is always clean and organized. I'm surprised to see there's never any dust either. Nice ambience in the waiting chairs. If you have chiro needs- this is the place to check out! read more

Dr. Matthews was super prompt to return my email and set me up with an appointment the next day. Check-in at the front desk was efficient and he brought me back for an equally efficient initial exam with a thorough set of questions and stretches/movements. I've been to a number of chiropractors and this visit was near the top for sure. He even gave me a handful of great stretches and exercises to do on my own that will help move things along, loosen up my neck and shoulders, and improve my posture. The office is clean and modern (and smells nice!), the staff is friendly, and the treatment was effective - tailored to my preferences. I really love this place. After a few weeks of adjustment, my neck pain and migraine are gone, at least not as frequent as before, I can't believe these have been fixed so easily, which has annoyed me for years. It is a miracle to me. I trust my spine to Dr. Jason Matthews. I found him for an acute back issue - which he worked out. He's passionate about health, and gives you all the encouragement you need to take care of the only body you get. I "lost" him when he opened his shop in Issaquah. Glad he's back in my life - with new tools, a great rolling table, and his great smile. I'm 64 now and have more energy than many of my younger co-workeers. My first visit was for a treatment after a car accident. The doctor (Matthews) gave me a thorough adjustment and I did feel like it helped. But his technique was a little rough and fast compared to Chiro's I've used before. I realize some parts of an adjustment - especially after a car accident - can be a bit painful. But his speed and pressure on sensitive areas - especially my low back which at the time felt like hot pokers each time he applied even light pressure - was too much for me. He apologized as he went when I told him it hurt and said he was sorry it would be painful but I've worked with Chiro's in the past who found ways to adjust me more gently which still accomplished the goal. I felt bruised and shaky after the treatment. He wanted me to come back the next day but I felt so tender after the first one I just couldn't. As I said, after a day or two of recovering I did feel like he made a difference in the underlying car accident issues. So technically he was quite good. In his defense I do tend to be sensitive and even during massages I have to ask for light pressure around my low back so it may mostly be me and my nerve endings and level of sensitivity. My fiancée prefers deeper massages and would probably have liked Dr Matthews' adjustment. So I think he'd be a great fit for men or maybe just those who like no-nonsense - "do what you need to fix me, Doc" - adjustments. But I would have preferred that he listen more to my feedback about how much it hurt and adjusted his technique instead of just going full steam ahead. read more

He listens to your needs and limits and he is also very thorough and does not just spot check problem areas but other areas that may tie in. Wish I could give more stars, Dr. Matthews is a gem! I'm an avid trail runner and had been dealing with some deliberating right hip/hamstring/knee issues which were turning my runs into limping hikes. I had sought out other professional care prior and had little to no progress so to be honest my expectations were kinda low. But wow, I was wrong. He thoroughly listened to my issues and after only two visits I noticed a dramatic improvement. The crazy thing is that he addressed issues that I didn't even know I had. He doesn't just focus on where the pain is - he checks out your full alignment as "everything is connected" and makes corrections. So my whole body just feels good now. I had my initial visit with Dr. Matthews a few weeks ago after I woke up and couldn't move my back (blame the 2 y/o kicking me all night). I hadn't seen a chiropractor in ages and my husband recommended I make an appointment and get it worked out. In 2 visits I regained my mobility and felt human again. The miracle came in the next couple visits. Not only was I feeling great and exercising again but I saw a noticeable difference with my diabetes insipidus (not the typical diabetes but the vasopressin [hormone] deficiency) that I was unexpectedly diagnosed with a couple years ago. After talking with Dr. Matthews about this inadvertent result and reading up on how chiropractic care can help with hormonal imbalance, it makes scientific sense. He truly have magical hands. I visited Dr Matthews for my chronic lower back pain and knee pain. I had contacted PCP, tried PT in previous occasions but didn't see much results. I had these spasmic back pain time to time but this was the longest streak. I was suffering. Driving, walking, sitting up and down everything was painful. Around the same time, I saw a post in the Sammamish FB group from someone looking for recommendation for chiropractor for back pain and 'Plateau Chiropractor' was suggested by a lot of people. I decided to give it a try. I had never been to a chiropractor before. I was slightly skeptical and I didn't know what to expect. That day after the session, I could drive home without any difficulty. I saw him for 4 more sessions. At the end of it, my lower back pain was gone. It was just miraculous. I have no other words for it, I haven't seen anything work so effectively and quickly. Fast forward 2022, I consulted him again for my Knee problem. Other than falling on a hike, I didn't have any major injuries in 2021. I increased my Iron and vitamin D intake as per my PCP. It was diagnosed onset of athritis. After my internet research 'LOL' , I was convinced I'm having Athritis or 'runner's knee'. I decided to get an opinion from Dr Matthews. I had problem climbing up and down the stairs, outdoor walks, sitting down bending my knees. After 3 sessions and a lot of ice, I am walking up and down the stairs without much pain. I've been seeing Dr. Steven Taylor since summer and I am so happy with the results, I would like to share my feedback and recommend that you give Dr. Taylor a chance to give you back your health. I have not always been a huge fan of chiropractic, however when I pulled a muscle in my arm playing golf this past summer he treated me and the results were amazing. In addition, not only did he solve my problem with my arm, but I had casually mentioned that I have had chronic knee issues due to arthritis which he also treated and solved. Most recently this past week, I had a shoulder injury which left me with excruciating pain, so I went to him for follow up because the treatment prescribed by the emergency room doctor was not working. Basically I showed up at his office when he opened at 8 am and his staff was able to get me in on short notice. I was in bad shape--because it was 5 days after the injury and I could still not move my shoulder. In less than 30 minutes, Dr. Taylor examined my injury, diagnosed it and provided a treatment plan. Leaving his office, I was almost pain free -- without drugs nonetheless. If you are looking for a healthcare professional you can trust, search no further. He's quite simply "amazing". I started feeling so much less pain in my neck and shoulder after just a couple of weeks. I had recently been to another chiropractor and not seen any lasting results, so visiting Dr. Matthews was sort of a last ditch effort to deal with this constant and worsening pain. After about a month I am seeing great results and would say I am about 90% better. I'm very much a "wait till it goes away rather than seek help" kind of person and I went to Dr. Matthews extremely skeptical on whether or not this would do anything. I came with a neck that had been frozen and getting progressively worse for 6 months after nothing but sitting. I had tried almost every at-home remedy of stretching, pillow height changes, etc. and then I went to Dr. Matthews. The first 2 times I was still unsure of any changes, but after the 3/4th visit i noticed drastic improvements and was finally able to check my left blind spot again. I stayed with the Dr., took his advice, and now I feel reborn. The reception as well is lovely and welcoming every time it feels like going to meet some very helpful friendly family members. Definitely, worth it, life without pain is so much better than life with it. What really stood out to me is how respectful he was as a male doctor he paid close attention to communicating, helped pull down my shirt/mask if they moved during the appointment, as a young woman it can be intimidating and worry-some to be in such a compromising position with someone but I did not worry at all with Dr. Matthews. 10/10 read more
