After now having received about 8 treatments, I would give 6 stars if I could. My strength and balance are really progressing after 3 months in hospital from serious mountain bike accident. I have been a client for over 20 years and this review is long overdue. Dr. Wisman has been taking care of my back all this time and it has been nothing short of amazing. One Sunday, I flew home from a week long conference and had somehow injured my back and was unable to walk more than ten steps without having to stop and sit from the pain. Dr. Wisman came into the office, on a Sunday, and met me and and literally had me walking again without pain after an adjustment. I had been taking Aleve, Doan's pills and had been miserable for the last few days on my trip. One appointment and I was good to go. This was over 20 years ago and this is still my "go to" whenever things get out of line. No pun intended. What is great: 1) xray (MRI would be x10 better, but cant ask it from chiropractor), 2) They may be able to help quickly in some cases. If you have herniated disk, they might be able to help (my very biased opinion). My wife was back to normal after one session. What is ok: 1) Office and overall setup is good What is bad: 1) I had an acute lower back pain (those who had it will understand). I was crooked for sure, could not stand upright because of pain. Which didnt stop them to do an xray on me in this state, and suggest I need a course to correct my posture and we'd better start right away? They even admitted it is not going to help with the acute pain. Proper course of action (I think) would be to think about more generic issues after the acute symptoms are gone, otherwise it looked like an attempt to upsell it to me. I was on the fence on stars, would have put lower, but these folks did help my wife a lot, so decided 4 is justified. read more

I've had random back issues throughout the last 8 years and honestly nothing ever helped. I'd visited a couple of chiropractors in the past and they just provided temporary relief, but never tried to get to the root of the recurring issue. When I became pregnant last February, my back went out and I could barely walk for days. I was desperate and my usual methods offered zero relief. Apart from taking tons of meds and wearing Salonpas pads daily, I was at a loss for what to do; so I decided to try chiropractic care again. They were unable to do x-rays for obvious reasons, but Dr. Rachel Hernal, being extremely knowledgeable, suspected Scoliosis and proceeded with focused treatment. Not only did she help relieve the pain, but she assigned me physical therapy homework to maintain and strengthen my back all throughout my pregnancy. (I didn't even know you could see a chiropractor with a baby bump, but they have a special pillow for the table and special air massage gun that works wonders!) Two months before giving birth, I was in a minor car accident putting added strain on my back and neck. Phyllis took charge of the insurance side of things, advocating for me and helping me navigate the confusing paperwork. Now that I've had my baby, I am back to my basic maintenance every few weeks. I feel fantastic and the staff LOVE snuggling my new baby when I come in for my visits. This really is the friendliest and most caring group of doctors and techs! This place is great! I knew it was different from the rest when they took x-rays on my first visit and discussed the findings with me and devised a treatment plan. My last chiropractor did not do that! I have some issues that are already getting better. I head there angry with discomfort most times and leave no longer mad or in pain lol. Dr. Alumbaugh is the best chiropractor I've ever been to - and unfortunately, I have been to a lot over the past 15 years. I am dealing with a herniated disc for the 3rd time (over a span of 15 years) and he is determined to figure out a way to fix my spine issues so that I don't keep having herniations. I have been extremely pleased with this office and staff. I have been to several chiropractors but never to one that I actually felt that I so informed and comfortable with the treatment plan. My first visit involved a couple different types of x-ray one static and one with movement so they could see what the issues were. This was a new experience and Dr Little took the time to explain and educate me on each step of the way. I also like that they do not just get in there and "crack" your back. They use a table and pressure points to readjust, so there is none of the contortions to "crack" your back, that I have experienced in the past for an "adjustment". I am also doing the red light laser therapy on the problem areas of my neck and shoulder that are making improvements in my mobility. This is not a sprint it is a marathon, which will require regular maintenance. But I have been extremely impressed with Dr Little, and the other Dr's that I have seen here as well and the amazing staff. Come here every week to see Dr. Mayes. He's great to chat with while he's correcting your spine. Super friendly and is great about educating you on why you may be experiencing pains or symptoms that you would not necessarily suspect from your back. I've learned a ton about why I feel a certain way and things that I can do to prevent issues with my typical trouble spots. I highly recommend him! I struggled with constant headaches, shoulder stiffness, lower and upper back pain. He is awesome about keeping tabs on previous adjustments while considering anything you may have done since your last visit that may cause your current ailments. I have had neck problems for many years and recently had a flare up needing some attention. I found Bellevue Chiropractic on Yelp. I am so glad I found them!! I easily scheduled my first appointment. I was able to fill out the new patient forms online, making things much easier for me. When I got to the office I was greeted by the very friendly and nice office staff. I was shown where various rooms were and offered something to drink. The billing and my insurance benefits were explained to me so there were no surprises on the fees. The luck of the draw put me in the care of Dr. David Mayes. He is wonderful, explaining everything and helping me understand what's going on in my neck. He explained the treatment plan and what I could expect and even texted the evening after my first adjustment to make sure I was doing okay. The office is very well organized and pleasant. Please, please do your research before seeing a chiropractor. I spent about a month to a month and a half under treatment by Dr. Wisman. The result was that my neck became so screwed up that I literally could not turn my head even a millimeter to the left. He explained that it has to start hurting and not feeling very good before it starts feeling better, but things just got worse and worse until the pain was unbearable, and so I stopped going in and sought the counsel of some doctors (MDs). It took over three years for me to regain near full mobility in my neck after the treatments I received at Bellevue Chiropractic Group, and to this day I still don't have the full range of motion to the left as I do to the right. Sometimes when I sleep funny it triggers the same things again. I had to see a number of specialists, PT and took a number of strong anti-inflammatory meds to try to control the problem. It was a long, arduous process and I feel that my neck will never be the same after seeing this chiropractor. Since Dr. Wisman is the only chiropractor I have ever used, I cannot say definitively if it was something he did in specific or if this can happy with any chiropractor, but when I went in in the first place I didn't have any significant problems with my neck or back. He evaluated me and told me that I did and that I would benefit from treatment. Please consider my experience and do your research before fooling around with your neck, spine and mobility - there are a lot of things that can be messed up. I'm sure others have had good experiences at BCG, and mine is only one case of something gone wrong. I will never let a chiropractor put their hands on me again, after enduring what happened. read more

I learned about Bellevue Chiropractic Group after being referred to Dr Wisman by a friend. My prior chiropractor experience at Wellness One was so bad I had almost given up on them altogether but my pain was still bothering me. I originally made an appointment to see Dr Wisman but with the way scheduling works, I ended up working with Dr. Simmonds instead. There isn't anything wrong with Dr. Wisman, he's very friendly and quite knowledgeable but I'm happy I have Dr. Simmonds. Her knowledge is impressive, she seeks out to update her knowledge to keep up with her field, she knows the bones of the spine just by touch, and she's very gentle. Also, she's really friendly. Since I've been going to Dr. Simmonds, i have more movement in my hip and no lower back pain--something I thought I was going to deal with for the rest of my life as a result from a bad injury in the 7th grade. I have more movement in my back. But BCG isn't just great because they have competent doctors, the office staff are very professional and delightful. Finally, the reason for the five stars aside from the great staff and amazing doctors, their billing policies are what keep me able to afford to go. They're not an in-network provider and could charge me whatever my insurance doesn't cover. But they don't. I still only pay my copay and that's it. I have been going to Bellevue Chiropractic Group for nearly 10 years. I have to say that I don't think my back would in as good of shape as it is if I hadn't been treated. I was in a car accident as a young girl and it was not properly treated. As I aged, my back started letting me know I had issues. I have seen many chiropractors over the years as we have lived in several cities. Dr. Wisman is one of the best. His goal is to get you treated and well. His goal is not to have you needing to be in his office every other day for the rest of your life (as one chiropractor I saw seemed to recommend). He is honest and has a real heart for healing. I have also seen several of his associates and always been satisfied. Rarely do I have to wait for my appointment, but when I do, it isn't long. I also really like that he has the Fluoroscope x-ray which has much less exposure to radiation and shows real time movement. His office is very pleasant and his office staff is easy to work with. Dr. John Wisman has been my chiropractic doctor for at least 15 years and I always look forward to going in to see him because I know his method gets results. The office is beautiful, their focus on their patients is excellent, and as I said before, the method gets results. Dr. Wisman will not suggest you come in to see him forever - his philosophy is that you see him when you're "broken" until you're "fixed". You won't be contorted into origami when you see him, which is a change from many chiropractic practices. He uses a drop table, explains every step along the way, and has fixed me every time I've been "broken". By far the best chiropractors in the area, if not the entire state. I've led a very active life, dirt bike accidents, car crashes etc and work a physical job in construction. Dr Wisman has been very instrumental in keeping me feeling good and able to enjoy life. Once Dr Mayes joined the practice he has been great as well. Before beginning to see Dr Wisman I had migraine headaches weekly and medical doctors hadn't done much for them other than a prescription to take when I get one, but nothing to help prevent them. After being a patient of Dr Wisman I only get them after a bike crash or similar event, and one visit later am back to feeling great! I can't recommend him and Dr Mayes enough. They both are great and they care enough to come in on a weekend if you're really hurting, or to stay late just to make sure they can see you and help. I've referred anyone who will listen to them and will continue to do so. Bellevue might be a drive for some of you, but I'd drive a couple hours of I had to for the care, treatment and relief that I have experienced with Bellevue Chiropractic. I also recently was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel syndrome, I would never have thought to have this adjusted or treated by a chiropractor but just happen to complain to Dr Wisman about my wrists while I was being adjusted. He says he sees people often for CTS! He adjusted my wrists and I felt instant relief. He says after a couple weeks of adjustments the numbness and soreness should fade... I'll update the review in a few weeks, I'm hoping it helps! Hope you give them a try, you won't regret it and you'll feel better and more able to enjoy life as a result. I'd had negative experiences with another chiropractor and had a hard time going back, but now I wish I hadn't hesitated and hurt for as long as I did. These guys have been lifesavers! Bellevue Chiropractic has been an excellent find in chiropractic care. Dr. Alumbaugh has been my doctor, and he is incredibly thorough, thoughtful and sets clear expectations for the care I need. The office staff has always been friendly and responsive. I've been going to chiropractors for 30 years and some have been good, some not, some quirky, some not, and the chiropractic methods they've employed has been all over the place. Bellevue Chiropractic is no exception to the rule that each does their own thing, so here's my assessment: a great, friendly team of doctors who work under a consistent method that uses many facets of manipulation, mostly using the powered chiropractic table and a powered "activator" ( for lack of a better understanding on my part), that seems to work very well and gets results.
