Despite also working in the medical field, I still get a case of white-coat nerves around new doctors. Dr. Gan--and most importantly, Ruby (the office mascot )--were great at easing and calming those nerves. My body has been through a lot over the years, and I have to say that the few appointments I've had have done wonders for my daily aches and pains. Here, you can tell they don't provide subpar treatment just to ensure repeat visits; they genuinely want their patients to get better and return to full capacity. Dr. G is the best!…read more I've been meaning to look for a chiropractor due to my back and poor posture. I had a thorough exam with Dr. G and he was very precise and to the point. During the X-ray, he told me I had mild scoliosis which I never knew. The thing I appreciate about Dr. G is that he'll do the adjustments a little bit each time. I can't imagine going through all those cracks and manipulation like the videos on social media. There's also a therapy room in the back for ice/heat treatment as well as a roller table. This review is for massage therapy only…read more I am in some discomfort due to tight muscles and read all the great reviews on massages at Sports & Family Chiropractic, so I made a next-day appointment for a 1-hour massage. Their website lists reflexology and deep tissue as massage modalities offered here. However, the actual massage I received was a very light Swedish. As someone who regularly gets deep tissue once or twice a month, I would rate this pressure as a 3/10. I asked for more pressure and deep tissue, but I did not get much more pressure. Before the service started, I mentioned the specific parts that were sore - my low back, glutes, IT band, neck. I did not get these areas properly addressed. For the glutes, I got maybe 5 seconds of elbow pressure per glute, over the blanket. Nothing for the IT band. Neck was light palm strokes, as was lower back, with a few forearm strokes. Most of the pressure was light surface level, and did not get into the fascia, much less any actual muscle. I am just as tight and uncomfortable as before, spent an hour roundtrip driving there and back, and also out $$ with no relief for sore & tired muscles. Free aromatherapy was offered which was a nice touch, but the massage itself and quality of touch was not there for me. I think the great massage reviews are for the previous massage therapist, who apparently was here for many years and left a couple of weeks ago. There is currently only one massage therapist working here, who started last week. I'm also dissatisfied because I arrived early for my massage, but my actual massage time was 44 minutes. My regular masseur, who does myofascial release, is located in the San Gabriel Valley, but it was too far to drive on a weeknight. I just made an appointment and will have to drive up this weekend because I'm desperate for some pain relief. So in summary - currently only one massage therapist working here and modality is light Swedish. Look elsewhere for deep tissue, sports, or myofascial release.
