My wife and I have been planning to paint the exterior of our house for over a year now. On any large scale home improvement project we check reviews and our neighbors opinions. We prefer smaller local owned and operated companies. With those factors in mind I found Platinum Exteriors was very highly rated. Like insane ratings, so I checked on our neighborhood Facebook page to see if anyone had used them. I found that multiple had and all highly recommended them. I reached out about a month ago through Facebook and the response was lightning fast. After answering a few questions I was given a price quote. I thought it was very fair. Trusting the quality reviews and my neighbors experience I moved forward with an appointment. After scheduling I found out I needed approval from my HOA. I submitted the forms hoping our scheduled date could be met. I would message every so often to check in. My questions very promptly and kindly answered very quickly each time. The approval came just in time. On paint day the crew did our 2 story pop outs and garage door first. They showed up the next morning and finished the job by evening. The crew and owner had great communication. The work was done both efficiently and very thorough. The attention to detail and clear experience painting was great to see. They moved the rocks away from the house to get complete coverage. My wife had a few special painting requests and they accommodated all of them in a kind and respectful manner. If you're nervous if all the 5 star reviews are legitimate I can say they've earned them. Top quality products and crew with prices that can't be beat. My house was not looked at prior to the work day. This would have been helpful because I spent half a day moving furniture around where I thought it would be out of their way to only find out I needed to move furniture by myself when I was expecting to leave for work. There should be a final punch list as there are several areas that I think needed to be touched up some missed stucco repair which I paid for. I reached out to the company to request some overspray to be cleaned and you have my roof vents repainted only to be told they would need more money. Nearly $4,000 should be adequate. read more

DON'T!!! DON'T!!! DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. At the very last minute they DOUBLED the estimate, and blamed their ignorance/mistake/laziness on me. I should have looked beyond the Google, Yelp, and Angie's List scores, and at the negative reviews. I'm a 65-year-old disabled retiree. During my professional life I investigated fraud claims, including some elder abuse fraud. I'm not saying Platinum did that, but their actions sure looked familiar. I'm not accusing this guy Zach or Mia, of being grifters, scam artists, or people who prey on the elderly. But here's my story of this so-called "Platinum" company blaming me for not informing them of the condition of the iron used to fabricate a fence I had built. The implication was that I should be an expert on iron, and let them know that the iron has rust on it. Well guess what. Any welder (including the one who fabricated my fence) will tell you that they don't store their iron material in a climate controlled environments. They either store iron in the yard or they buy it from a wholesaler, who also keeps it in the yard. EVERY welder and wholesaler stores their iron in exposed weather. So "Platinum" gives me an initial estimate of $750. We schedule the work for a Saturday morning because it's a "small" job and they are a BIG company who has so much work during the week that they'll do me a favor and fit me in on a weekend. Then, late Friday night, I get a text saying their painter is sick, and they'll have to find another crew to do the work on another day. So now I have to start hounding them because the fence fabricator has additional work to do on the fence after it's painted. They promise to call me with a date, but they don't. I continue to try to get in touch, but no luck. Finally, Zach, the guy who gave me an estimate from info I provided him weeks ago, tells me the cost doubled because I didn't reveal that the iron had rust and will need a tremendous amount of labor to get it off. OH NO! IRON RUSTS?! Any painter should know that iron rusts. And I spoke with the welder who built the fence. He laughed and said the rust is extremely light, and can almost be wiped off, which he demonstrated with a rag. I reminded Zach that I asked him to visit my house if he wanted, to get a better look at the fence as it was being fabricated, that I sent him the fence builders scope of work, and that I sent him pictures of the work as it progressed. The last pictures were sent more than a week ago. Yet, without any new info or visit, he accuses me of not telling him that the most rust-prone material on Earth had rust. He then implied that the fence builder used "old" iron, or iron from an old fence. That's when I knew I couldn't trust Zach. The guy who built the fence brought the iron directly from the wholesaler the morning he started on the fence. I told Zach that I had no idea that any of the accusations he brought up would impact the price. Again, I'm not an iron expert. He continued to BLAME ME for the DOUBLING of the price. When I mentioned that I thought he might be taking advantage of a disabled elderly person, he laughed with one of those "lol"s. It was the kind of "I've been caught" condescending reply that I've seen too many times from those who prey on the weak. If he defames me in any way in a reply by lying, deflecting, denying, or gaslighting, I'll be happy to escalate this into a matter that my backup documentation (phone calls, emails, texts, etc.) will reveal him for the no-good, spin.eless, l0w-life, rancid P0S he is. I also have a list of governmental agencies and private groups that exist to protect the elderly. Again, I don't know if Platinum is in the business of preying on the weak, old, and/or disabled. But there's an old saying that "If the words don't match the actions, believe the actions". read more

This company hit a home run with us from start to finish. Very high attention to detail and premium quality work, and all at a very attractive price. Their crew arrived exactly on time, and they walked our entire house with me first thing pointing out EXACTLY what they were going to do where, from power washing to stucco repair to the application of two coats of Dunn Edwards paint. They were all very courteous and professional, kindly pausing to let our dogs go out a couple times. Then they re-taped a seam on our outdoor porch and painted our side gate at no extra charge. This company. entered a gated community POSTED **NO SOLICITING / NO TRESPASSING**. They sent a man illegally placing their fliers throughout our neighborhood. See attached the photo. The next day after complaining to them, somebody put 2 of their fliers on our bulletin board kiosk which is posted NO SALES ADS. Judging by the 1 star reviews, this company appears to service different areas far away. Similar to termites. While the work performed was very good and I appreciate the crew's professionalism, the communication with the project manager Holly is absolutely abysmal. When the work was done she wanted to upcharge me by $100 citing additional work requested by me. The problem is she did not tell me during the process. Then she straight up started insulting me through text (that has since been retracted) and refused to communicate. Then there were some issue with my check bouncing (which is my fault), but she just keeps on insulting me throughout the process. I talked with the owner and got it all handled and would probably not have left this review if not because THEY DECIDED TO MESSAGE ME THIS MORNING AND THREATEN A LIEN ON MY HOUSE FOR NOT PAYINY. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! They did not prep our house, they did not fill in cracks, they messed up the colors multiple times, they did not scrape the foundation, the absolute worse thing that happened was that they put white paint all over our roof tiles. After failing to get it off and CHUNKS of our roof tiles coming off from scrubbing them, they suggested removing the whole first layer of tiles and flipping them?! Finally, they realized what a horrible idea that would be and then bought paint to match one shade of the tiles (we have a multicolored roof). We had to have them come back SO many times to fix this mess. Now I am left with a flaking foundation, cracks in my stucco, crap roof tiles, paint all over my window trims. They told me AND the BBB that they would be out ASAP to fix the paint on my foundation. At this point, I am considering court. Warranty my @ss. read more

I really wanted to like this company. Some nice people. They came out prepped and painted. There were areas that needed to be fixed. When I originally spoke with them they were going to prime and paint. None of the wood was primed so of course there is bleed through of tannins . I've contacted them many times and was told they would take care of it. Their communication is abysmal and in the end just ghosted me and have no intentions of fixing it. They don't really do any prep work. Just spray and pay. Unfortunately it was night when they finished and I didn't have the ability to look it over closely. I'm going to open with a direct comment: If you're looking for any service Platinum Exterior provides stop looking now and schedule. If this looks too lengthy to read - you can go with just that :) Moving across the country into a home that needed everything from windows to flooring to fixtures was tough. Having one bad experience after another with almost every project was tougher. By the time we got to exterior painting we literally joked that we shouldn't be surprised if someone just took our money and threw buckets of paint against the house. The paranoia created by past experiences pushed me to beat the research horse to death. I must have priced well over a dozen companies. It was bordering on comical. We had everything from "no guarantee" on the price because the cost of paint could go up while we waited our turn (seriously?!) to others that would throw out an insanely low price only to admit all the "not included" costs when probed. Then came Platinum Exteriors and crew! A Facebook message, a few texts and we had our price along with a very detailed outline of what we were getting. The price was fabulous and what it included was even better. Scheduled the job and the crew arrived not only on time but with courtesy and friendliness, too! Luis and Carlos were still getting out of their truck when Terry called to go over each step of what they'd be doing. The communication was much appreciated! Luis and Carlos were unbelievable! Carefully taping, covering windows and painting with was "artistry" beyond just skill. It was clear they CARED about their end result and that they took pride in their work. It went so great we asked if they could squeeze us in the next day and paint our block fence. Truly, we have not had ONE SINGLE person work on our house to date that we would ask to come back and do another job! The experience ended with Greg coming before they wrapped up to review everything with us and make sure we were totally happy. He walked the entire house and looked closely at the work himself. Prompting us to take a close look to make sure nothing was missed was impressive! More impressive was that we couldn't find even one little thing! Bottom line: We couldn't have found a better company. Platinum Exteriors is run like a finely tuned machine with personal touch and communication added in. From the start I knew that Kevin was a stand up guy. No hassle quote and stuck to it. As the scheduled date neared checked in to make sure what we had picked out was exactly what we wanted.
