Karen the owner is the best there is. She's not only done my hair but she's done my families hair as well. I have seen her work for wedding parties as well. First thing is I love the cleanliness of it, there are a lot of Salons that you go to that aren't that neat, or have a general chic look to it. I love the fact that when you walk in you aren't overpowered with anything. Second I love the ambiance of the Salon, it's very quite (at least whenever I've stopped in to see her) and you can think and relax. Third when it comes to prices it's very reasonable, because you have some Salons that want to charge you an arm and a leg to get basic things done. She hasn't done that and she's been around for a very long time. Fourth the service is amazing!!!! Getting your hair washed there is good enough, you feel like a baby!!! And the treatments (if you choose to get them) are great for your hair. And then lastly the styling.... can I just say tell her what you want and she will make it happen. She has a very deep understanding of hair and what can and can't be done to your own personal hair. Some Salons will say yes, and give you something that will make you walk away with a "why the hell did I just do that". She guides you on what's best for your hair and then delivers. I needed a great salon to switch to because the dominican salon I was going to totally damaged my hair. I live in queens but will travel as far as I need to for a great salon and stylist, and I wanted a salon that catered to black hair. After reading the first two reviews I decided to give them a try. I called Karen and made an appt for the next day. When I walked in I was pleased with the decor and overall vibe. I needed a touch up and Karen gave me a great trim and bangs. I received so many compliments from the latest style that she gave me. Not only that she is humble and such an overall nice person.
