DO NOT....DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. ZERO STARS. READ OTHER RECENT REVIEWS. Chris, the owner is 100% sketchy and unprofessional. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with... My fiancé bought my engagement ring from Chris--which after the proposal I learned was a whole fiasco in itself. He did not have the ring ready when promised and communication was terrible! Then, the best part! Prong on the ring, broke at the base after 5 days of normal wear! And the diamond was lost. Searched for hours and luckily found the diamond only to deal with a very unapologetic Chris who basically insinuated I did something to break the ring and that that had never happened in "20 years" and there was basically nothing he would or could do. --also note, he had completely avoided my fiancé and his repeated request for an appraisal so we could get insurance on the diamond!!-- After luckily finding the stone, we drove to the store after being promised it could be fixed that same day. Later, just to be told he would have it to us the next morning...Of course, never heard from him (a common theme in recent reviews)..after being ignored ALL DAY the following day my fiancé demanded to meet him to get the ring back fixed or not. Because at this point. He had the ring and our money and was refusing communication. Totally awful and sketchy feeling. Finally, after threatening a police report (another common theme in recent reviews) he suddenly had the ring and could meet for pick up. MY RING WAS CROOKED IN THE SETTING, BAND WAS BENT, AND PRONGS UNEVEN!! Also--still no appraisal which was again was promised at time of fixed pick up. Called several gemologist and jewelers in the area the next day. ALL which knew of his "fishy business" (their words). And reported his business was good in years past but most recently NOT THE CASE. Took the ring to a reputable jeweler. Good news! At least the diamond was real! However, jeweler was very unhappy with the way the diamond was set and "fixed" and setting has to be completely reworked. Currently waiting on ring to be fixed and appraised elsewhere...still no appraisal or another word from Chris which was now promised at time of fixed pick up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. I will be reporting to the better business bureau. Do not be enticed by his cash deals. I don't want any newly engaged couple or anyone for that matter to go through the stress I just went through over the past 72 hours. People that run business like this and take advantage of people's hard earned money and savings are not worthy of being business owners in any industry--especially one that should be a happy one! I could not be happier with the selection, price and customer service that I received while buying my wife's engagement and wedding rings. For example, when my wife and I first walked in the store, we had no idea what we wanted to purchase; the only thing I knew was our budget haha. Chris,Platinum Jewelers Owner, realized we were lost and immediately assisted us. First, he gave us examples and gave us an unbiased overview of all the different styles, shapes, color and etc. After the overview and getting a feel for what we liked, he pulled out a drawer of different rings and told us to each pick out one that we really really liked. Of course, I have very expensive taste and picked out the most expensive ring in the shop. Contrary, my wife picked out a 1930 vintage diamond ring that was half our budget. She tried on both rings and liked the vintage diamond ring best. Chris agreed that the vintage diamond fit her finger best, which showed me that he wasn't about the sale as much as what fit the customer best. After the purchase, Chris also successfully customized my wife's wedding band to fit the ring perfectly. Overall, I could not be happier and will definitely make Chris my lifelong jeweler. read more

I FINALLY got my rings back (when I decided to file a police report and as I'm at the police station he calls to let me know my rings are done). As I'm explaining the situation to the police officer, he says "I'm going to take one guess at which store you're talking about, Platinum Jewelers? Owners name is Chris?"- I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO GO INTO SPECIFICS BEFORE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT KNEW WHICH STORE I WAS TALKING ABOUT AND THE PERSON WHO RAN IT!!! So the police officer and I both went up to the store to retrieve my belongings. When I received my property he never even tightened the center stone which was half the reason I took it up there. At least he resized it, BUT DIDN'T EVEN STAMP THE 18K BACK ON IT. It took THREE WEEKS to get a ring sized, and the entire time he didn't answer the phone and he kept his doors locked and lights off during normal business hours. He told me to meet him on TWO separate occasions to give me my belongings ONLY TO FIND THAT HE GHOSTED ME BOTH TIMES. That's why I went to file a police report. If you EVER want any jewelry from a local Jewler, take your business elsewhere but DO NOT TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS JEWELRY TO CHRIS AT PLATINUM JEWELERS IN COOLSPRINGS. read more

Stay away! This was a total nightmare. I dropped off a pair of cuff links for repair, and Chris made it sound like it was no big deal, and that they would be ready the following week. I never heard from him. I tried to call him multiple times and his phone number had been disconnected because he hadn't returned equipment to his provider. I had to drive in, and he said he had to send them to another jeweler, and again said they would be ready in a few days. LONG story short, and over a month later, and many trips to the store after he said they were ready, they were never done, and after repeated efforts to collect them from him unsuccessfully, I filed a police report. The officer went to the store, collected them for me. Chris told him a totally different story than he had been telling me about why he wasn't able to work on them. Unprofessional, and untrustworthy. I have known Chris and Billy for almost 10 years, since my family owns the smoothie shop next door. I've always loved shooting the breeze with Chris over the years. He's funny, frank and very considerate. I recently proposed to my girlfriend, and knew I had to talk to Chris first when it came to buying an engagement ring. I requested a special order with a custom stone and band. Admittedly, I wasn't sure if he could pull it off, especially on a tight deadline. But when I went in to look at it, I was blown away. Platinum Jewelers came highly recommended as i was NOT disappointed. I was very nervous to let go of my large diamonds even for a few weeks. Maira and Chris were patient and knowledgeable every step of the way. They helped me create a beautiful custom ring that is vintage looking, but completely new. I was able to use all my own diamonds and they bought my old gold and silver to help offset the cost. The hand engraving is stunningly precise and changed the whole look to an even more impressive piece. Everyone who sees it says it is breathtaking...and it is. My 35 year old custom wedding ring and band is missing. Was supposed to take a simple mold to add a new band. 4 weeks later the owner Chris cant find my ring nor has the new band finished. Told me 1-2 weeks to complete. Hung up on me today when I requested information on where my ring is- stated he was trying to track it. I would have never left my ring if it was being mailed out to a mystery location. What type of business operates this way. At this point I just want back my ring- I can care less about ever receiving the new multi thousand dollar band- want my wedding band and ring back and owner has not call me back. read more

This shop is amazing. After looking at almost every high end store in Nashville I found these guys through a co worker. I had already picked out a design ring that i wanted to propose with. These guys beat the others on a custom making and the ring is perfect. They let me keep the diamond there at no charge and store the ring there so she would not find it. I really liked how they did not charge me extra because i was not buying the diamond from them unlike other stores. They do great work and the ring is excellent. My husband and I have been customers for 11 years. Chris is amazing at remembering who you are and what you like. I recently chipped my diamond, not just chipped but gouged it, and had allowed my insurance to lapse. He told me to not worry about it, he would have it recut, and I wouldn't notice a thing. I was skeptical, as I notice everything. I picked it up today, and was SHOCKED. My recut diamond is AMAZING!! It looks exactly as it did before, and I couldn't be happier. While driving I looked up and WaLa there was Platinum Jewelers in my vision. Fate took me there, so I went in and in less than 5 minutes the repair was done and the cost was minimal.
