They will place pallets up for sale, dress they up all pretty just to get endless boxes filled with garbage. It's clear that they hold on to anything valuable and charge you for talking out their trash. No morals and a slime for a boss. Absolute garbage! My conclusion from buying a few items is, one person's garbage is another person's treasure . Once you bring all your treasure home and take a good look at it.. you realize that this is all garbage.  They are pretty smart though, They will take your money BEFORE you can look at it. Ohh, and by the way, if you want to return somthing at that moment they charge a 25% restocking fee. Incredible success to dupe unsuspecting buyers. Trust me .. They bid on their own stuff to raise up the price. if you look through several items you see the same person bidding driving up the price on numerous items. Then if one of them wins the item comes up again for bid a few days or weeks later. advice.. bid once.. if your outbid .. don.t bid again.. and the item will come back on. as far as them selling your stuff i have no idea but be careful you dont get the price driven up by them. read more

Hi Platinum, BUYER BEWARE!!! This has been the worse experience I have ever been apart of...even after contacting you and your company, with no solution offered other than when I spend more money, you will offer me a 10 % discount!?!? (Really!!!...I don't think so!) I understand when you buy under these circumstances with Auctions, you get the good, the bad and the ugly. Usually 50 % is salvageable and 50% is not.....but this has been a 95 % total garbage pile. I have paid to empty 3x Large Garbage bins to dispose of these items. Unbelievable! I received a total of 305 Appliances which were advertised as Shelf pulls and were able to obtain a total of "21" items that I could sell. I'd thought i would send some pictures of what I am dealing with before I start pitching the stuff into our garbage bin. (Many Pictures sent twice) All 5x air conditioners came with no remote controls or vent hose attachments. Almost every appliance I have opened didn't work and most are missing the rotor blades for dicing attachments or another main part or no plug in cord or were completely broken! All 3 of the picnic car coolers wouldn't work or turn on and both compressors just hum and start smelling. 1x lawn mower which we got working and the other 2 are dead! No battery with the cordless unit. I've thrown out 17 large glass fruit blenders, 26 small blenders 14 toasters, 6 fans, 20 coffee makers and a multitude of small appliances, broken pieces or missing glass containers or plug in cords. The list just goes on and on. I sent a bunch of pictures of the condition of the furniture and football tables, hockey games are in. The boxes are all ripped with corners of the wood furniture shredded, broken, chipped or missing pieces from falling out. Most were assembled and cramped back into the boxes. I have been able to salvage a handful of items, including that one lawn mower that I should get $100 for, after I scrape off all the dried grass from the inside. I'm sorry josh to keep harping on this, but I have been in retail running my own business with 4 stores in 4 cities with over 45 staff members, so I know how customers should be treated. Needless to say I was appalled at your boss solution. Very poor. I spent a total of $3800 this time around and won't see hardly a penny back out of it and not to mention my costs put into bringing it all here. As I mentioned I would be satisfied with even $2000 refund which still means I will take a large sting on this...which still isn't fair to me. I planned on spending a lot more with your company in the future and I think I've proven that with spending over $8000 in the last month. I want this relationship to continue and am not asking for much under the circumstances. I have not told other contacts/ customers about this but have a very large resource pool in Ontario. I've been doing this for a long time. (40 years running my own companies) I don't want to go down that path. All I'm asking is to be fair and we both will share the loss. I will send the pictures. Looking forward to clearing this up soon. Many fake bidders that outbid themselves to raise the prices. Take note of the reserve bid on certain items that convinienly and consistently have the exact amount. That just means that is the minimum price that they are looking for. read more

Earl Boeke one of the owners... this guy is soooo rude and low class. I went for my 2nd time to pick up something I bought online and I wanted to return a ring set, so the associate called this named "manager" Earl Boeke and I explained him in a very polite way why I wanted to return it, but I also told him that if it was a problem then I would just keep it. He started raising his voice after calling me "cutie" and said "ok fine I am going to take it back but I want my restocking fee back! ...3 dollars!!! Then when I get a Jade and Juliet jacket, I realized that the quality of this jacket was very very poor and the finishing was so sloppy so I told him I wanted to return the jacket even if I had to pay the restocking fee because I was not wear that jacket like that :-( Earl kept raising his voice and talking to me in such a despot way... I tried explaining to him that you guys should understand that lots of times you do not advertise the real picture of the actual product... a picture downloaded from internet looks way better than the actual product... which it's false advertisement. He just didn't care, kept yelling at me and told me "Please do me a favor and don't shop anymore on my store and I want the restocking fee"... another 2 dollars and some change!!! so ridiculous!!!! The associate who was present apologized afterwords for this guy's behavior... I have never come across a manager with so little manners and class... they have lost lots of customers because of this guy and I am one of them. I do not recommend this place to anyone. If he treats his employees the way he treats his customers then maybe it should be a concern and someone should go investigate. read more

The owner of this knick-knacks business, a rude and dubious old guy, has for sure some strong connections as soon as he gets deals from government organizations. I have bidden and paid online for a bunch of items and after few days went to pick them up but he said that their "system shows the goods were picked up". He wasn't though capable to say to whom and when the items were released, or to show proofs (signed release papers). When I sustained my position, he "generously" offered to give me a refund. Forget about the time spent on bidding, the time he used my money for free, or the trip to their dreadful shack. I will have to check the authenticity of the items I previously bought as there is another review on Yelp claiming that the appraisal certificates and jewelry bought from this liquidation place were fake. I don't know why City of Toronto, Police, General Attorney, etc. would compromise their firms associating with such a crook. read more

I have bought many items from Platinum Liquidations. I'm not sure about all of the other bad experiences here, but I can only speak for myself. I am not affiliated with PL in any way, I am just a legitimate customer. For the most part, the products that I have won at auction have been as described. A couple of times I saw slight issues with the products and PL did not force me to purchase them. They gave me the option to take them or not. They even gave me a refund when I went back the next week because a guitar case that I purchased was not exactly as described. A lot of times the merchandise that they auction off are returns, close-outs, end of lines, etc. I am fully aware of that. I find out what I'm bidding on is worth before I bid. I only bid what it's worth to me. If I win, great, if I don't, no biggie. I always end up paying way less than I would elsewhere. I have dealt with several other auction companies, although not online, and PL is by far my favourite auction company to deal with. read more

I won a necklace for my wife's anniversary at a fraction of the cost one that I was looking at the jewelers. I went to the place first to look at it before I bid as I read some negative reivews. It came with an appraisal which I had double checked with an appraiser. My wife loved it and thought I had spent way more than I did! The key for me was checking out the item before I bid as don't know of any other online places let you do that. Not sure why the other low jewellery review unless they thought replacement appraisal value was the same as pawn shop value. read more
