This company needs to go out of business. I brought 7 bags filled with brand named clothes, some even with the original tags never worn. They took nothing. They said it's because of the condition that they were in. They say that but then I look at the clothes they're selling and I see stains and holes in a lot of the clothes they're selling. I went there and because of reviews I had low expectations for selling 5 brand new dresses still with price tags. 1 designer, 2 high end names and 2 lower end. Summer styles, fashionable. After a registration process and explaination of how the process works, I was told they would be examined and I would get a text in appx 30 minutes , which I did. I returned to be told due to the style and condition they could not buy. I get possibly the style would not sell, but the condition? Brand new with tags still on! Not sure what their target audience is, but overall I think the store is total BS. I will donate to charity and hopefully make someone happy. read more

I went there and bought some clothes and spent a lot of money but mind you I have never shopped here and when I was checking out I asked the employee that was checking me out if I could return it and get my money back she said yes if I had the tag on them and the receipt 3 days later I wanted to return it and I never wore them they were still in the bag with everything and I went back to return it and the lady goes and tells me I'll only get credits back but not my money?! i brought about thirty items here, just washed and perfectly folded, knowing they are quick to reject. but this location took it to another level. when i got to the store, bottega veneta sandals worn only twice in hand, i opened the bag of once-treasured items i brought and noticed a stain on one of the shirts. but i figured, its not that bad of a stain and this is consignment so i'll just leave it. when i came back an hour and a half later, not one of my lacoste or polo shirts nor brooks brothers attire was accepted. i was astonished. i asked why and with a look like, how dare you, was told items were stained and "just general style." i didn't know last year's ralph lauren men's polo shirt was out of style. i was like, ok one item was stained but NONE of them are good enough? for plato's closet? this is a place where getting $10 for a nice shirt in very good condition is on the higher side. but ok... here's my issue. upon repenting my bag, the first few items were thrown back in as if they were going into the laundry. and under that top layer lay all of my other items, perfectly folded as i had placed them. i brought them to a different location a day later and most items were bought. clearly one stain gave the impression that all items were flawed. fine. but don't be nasty about it and treat my clothes like garbage. your lost profit. go elsewhere to sell your clothes. read more

Owner of the store refused to take my clothes without giving reason why. I have been to multiple Plato's in different states actually and have never seen worse costumer service. Clothes are not up to date, there's dust everywhere, and like I said again terrible customer service. If you are local and want better options with better pricing/ clothes Plato's boca raton, Plato's Wellington and Plato's Delray will be your best bet! Let's talk about their new policy: if the ESTIMATED wait time is under 30 mins, you are REQUIRED to stay in the store (HAHA). A ploy to force you to shop around. I am in the process of moving and my time is very valuable. I had plans to drop off the stuff and complete nearby errands. That is now foiled due to this bogus policy. I am just sitting in a chair inside the store hoping it actually does take under 30 mins. The volume of clothes alone tells me it'll take much longer. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE CORAL SPRINGS LOCATION. I took a good amount of clothes to this location. They said I'd be 30 mins. When they were ready they told me nothing was of value and I took everything back. I'm pretty sure they didn't even go through anything and just wasted my time. Very disappointed, maybe its this location but I noticed they gave at least 5 people their items back repeating the same scripted line on why they were unable to buy the items. Once it was my turn, I wasn't surprised to get the same scripted line told to me. When I dropped it off, I was told 40-45mins, I have to say it was way less...as if they already knew they were not accepting the items! I checked the website before bringing items in to see what they normally accept. I had all name brand items like, 7 for All Man Kind jeans, Lucky, H&M, Free People, Steve Madden etc. Maybe its a good thing they didn't accept any of the items, I was told they do not give much for your items anyhow! When I mean really worn out, I really mean it. They are either dirty or stretched out. No judgement anyways. We all trying to find things for a cheaper price. There are some things are mint and new condition. A lot of things are really good deals so it doesn't hurt to try to look. I found these scandals that I have been wanting so long. At the end of the process they were only purchasing one Jean and not the rest. I asked for future references why they didn't purchase the rest and the young lady said, "because its business attire". I understood and went to ask, "what about these brand new jeans?" And she said, they are peeling. I stated that is the style of the pants, and they were all over the pants and they even had ALL of their original tags. So she said, "oh I didn't know!". Missed the cut off time for selling by 5 minutes.... 5. Minutes. Sell cut off time was not posted anywhere inside or outside of the store, nor online. Not one single customer was in the shop when we were there, and there were 3 employees standing up front looking at the computers. Manager/supervisor on duty was rude and incredibly lazy. We did interact with one employee that was apologetic, and likely would have taken our items, if the manager/supervisor had not specified to do otherwise. Best part, we would have made it there on time if we could have found a parking spot. Also, while they were going through our things we would have shopped. I loved this location. I rarely go to "used-clothes" stores and the truth is after visiting this location , I'll be changing that. This store is clean, organized, and the staff was super knowledgeable on their inventory. Their customer service was amazing, and the music playing in the background made the environment even more perfect. I love that the person assisting us has input to help my boyfriend and I choose wisely. The cherry on top is at the end of the transaction we found out one of the women helping us was the owner. I went in there with my bags with clothes and the girl said nicely that they can not accept the trash bags because of this virus going on. The question is where do thrift and consignment stores fit into 'fast fashion'? Tough since most clothing seems to not look its best after wearing just a few times. Checked this store out with my teenage daughter. It appeared well organized and they had a lot of merchandise. My daughter found a few casual tops and the price was right at $5.00. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I looked around a bit and nothing struck my fancy. Not much higher end stuff offered from what I saw. I would return to look for specialty items like winter coats or windbreakers for travel. As cheap (H&M, Marshall's, etc) as every day clothing is now I just can't see doing much shopping for day to day clothing at Plato's. I did check out the workout clothing and the used sports bras and workout tops didn't appeal to me. I'd say worth a peek if you are in the area. Nice store, best of luck to them. read more

This is one of the cleanest and most organized locations I've been to. Clothes aren't very new or clean here, however. Staff is friendly. Unfortunately, it can be frustrating to sell clothes here. They do not take old or "too used" items...yet it seems that is what they fill their racks with. Good prices though if you are looking to put a cheap outfit together. They are THEIFS. I got charged twice and they told me they only got my money once and to deal with my bank. My bank told me I got charged twice and to ask for a refund on the second charge. They not only refused but practically kicked me out of the store. I ended up filing a dispute against them with my bank. A month later I went back there and was told I was banned from the store because I wrote a bad review. I WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND ANYONE TO SHOP HERE. I went in this look for a purse and hopefully some casual but professional work clothing. Well I walked out with two pair of jeans a top and work out clothing. Although my mission was a fail, I'm glad I came out with some jeans. Women know how hard it is to find good fitting jeans. Anyways, the staff was helpful and cheerful, creating a good shopping environment. The clothing are separated by style and size. The items are all gently used so that makes them a lot cheaper in price. I have been here before and will definitely come again. I wish I could give this place Zero stars. So last week was my first time shopping at this place. I brought about $250 of things for my 3 sons one of which happened to be a pair of shoes that appeared to be Nike. Regardless of the brand my son liked them so I proceeded to purchase them. At the check out the cashier just loudly blurts out "these shoes are fake and you shouldn't buy them" I told her that I didn't care and she says again "they are fake" almost in a rude way. I was a little thrown off by that but whatever I brought them anyway and left the store. I made a second trip today to purchase another pair of shoes for my son, very similar to the pair purchased the previous week. Once again I was told they were fake, and I shouldn't buy them. Today was a different cashier. I told her it didn't matter and i didn't care if they were fake or not if it mattered so much why are you selling them? I am obviously shopping in a second hand store so therefore I understand this stuff could possibly not be authentic so who cares? A second cashier chimes in and says "well the people that shop here does" with an attitude. My problem with this place is if you aren't confident with the merchandise in the store then why sell it? I feel it was very rude of the cashiers to disclose that the way they did. fake or not your there to make a sale and you shouldn't be telling me what I shouldn't be buying. First of all. This is not my first bad review of this place. Even though they changed locations, they still have the same bad customer service. The most disappointing part is I'm pretty sure the girl who always gives me attitude is the manager. Maya something, who knows. So I've decided this is my least favorite Plato's Closet. No clearance section, only skinny jeans no boot cuts and the layout is overwhelming. The sales girls tend to prefer to carry loud personal conversations as opposed to helping you. Labeling the sections more obviously would be great.
