I absolutely do not recommend going to this location. I came in at 6pm on a Monday with two bags of items to sell. The associate told me that my stuff would be ready in 5 hours. (Which would have been 11pm, 2 hours after they closed, which I pointed out to the associate.) I also asked the associate if I could bring another bag in, as I had 2 bags of clothes to bring in. She told me no, that they had a limit of one bag per customer. (Another review mentioned this, but their website makes absolutely no note of this "limit".) Running the risk that I wouldn't be picking up my clothes that night, I ran errands for 2 hours and came back to check the status. I was informed that my clothes weren't ready, that my number was actually "bumped out of their system". I asked if they would be done with my clothes in the next 30 minutes. They said they would try. It did only take them 30 minutes, but after 2.5 hours of waiting, they said they could only offer me $3 for 2 of my items. They said they were too overstocked and to go to another Plato's Closet. I really wish they had told me that when I walked in. I went to the Lone Tree location - the long drive was worth it - I only waited 30 minutes and they bought quite a bit of my clothing. If you are considering going to the Cherry Creek location, please go to the Lone Tree location instead! read more

Wow terrible location. Have never walked into a store and felt so unwelcome. We were not greeted coming into the store, instead we were told that they close in 9 minuets. As I'm going through racks another staff member comes over to let me know they close in 4 minuets. So unprofessional. And as I was getting checked out the cashier asks me if I would like a bag. Don't waste your time trying to consign clothes here. Rude employees and whether or not they purchase your items is dependent on the individual sorting through them. 3 hours later and no text, I called and was told to come in and collect my clothes. Only 6 items were chosen and the rest of my clothes, 2 bags worth, were shoved back in with no care or concern as to how they were found, neatly folded. Avoid this Platos location. Customer service was HORRIBLE. Manager snapping at employees and customers alike. Made to feel so uncomfortable in the 4-5 minutes it took me to drop off my clothes that I didn't even return to get them. I'll never return to this location. It was almost as if I was bothering the manager by dropping clothes off to sell. I've gone to Plato's Closet in the past when I lived in Chicago, but I haven't visited one since I moved to Denver this summer. For some reason, something made me think of Plato's Closet and I searched Bing hopeful that I would find one in Denver, or nearby. I lucked out! There is one that isn't too far from my house, and this location happens to be it! After getting all giddy and excited that I found one, I ventured off to see what they offered. I was instantly greeted by not only one, but a few of the employees. Some of the employees weren't even behind the desk (but were putting things on the racks and such) and they still took the time out to acknowledge that I entered the store. That really stood out to me and made me feel welcomed. After not visiting a Plato's Closet in a long time, I had forgotten how big they are! But what I REALLY like that they do is label the clothes by size, type (short sleeve, jacket, sweatshirt, etc) and by whether or not they were on sale. They were having a HUGE clearance sale and I ended up with so many great steals. They had such an awesome selection of clothes! I'm in this phase right now where I'm trying to switch up my style. They definitely helped aid in that by having such a wide variety of colors and styles. Not only did I find some great deals on clothes, but I also found some great deals on jewelry as well! I found plenty of rings, bracelets and necklaces that were only $1! After I decided that I couldn't fit the whole store in my bag, I decided to call it quits and see what the damage was. After the sales associate finished ringing up all of my items, the total came out to $130! I couldn't believe it. I figured I had at least spent close to $200. After hearing my total, I was even more excited than when I first found out Denver had a Plato's Closet nearby. Not everything you find here will be something that you're absolutely in love with. But I can guarantee that you will find at least a couple items that tickle your fancy. This store is awesome for people who are trying to find a cute last-minute outfit or even just something new but without breaking their bank. I completely understand the issue with them not paying "top dollar" for your used items, but what do you expect? It's exactly the same theory that's behind buying a car. If you bought a 2014 car and drove it to your house then back to the dealership, the price would be way less than what you originally paid. It loses its value almost instantly. The same thing goes for clothes. You can't expect to buy a blouse for $150, wear it, then get $150 back for it. Don't get mad at Plato's Closet for doing their job, get mad at the ever-changing fashion industry. Either way, I recommend coming into this store and at least seeing what they have to offer. If you aren't interested in anything, no harm done. But this store and the location itself definitely deserves to be checked out! read more

My first time in a Plato's Closet and I was a bit surprised at how jam packed all the clothes were. I will agree with most other reviewers and say sizes 2-12 women will be able to find something and those over a 12 (still a normal size) your options will be very limited. The quality is a bit iffy too. My mom has ruined me for life and taught me about quality fabrics and quality pieces and although it looks like they have a lot here, the quality isn't there IMO. They have a small men's section toward the back. In addition some accessories on the wall, again a little cheap looking and some belts that actually looked half decent. Not my favorite store, I would rather shop at Nordstrom's Rack across the street for quality items that will last longer than one wash. read more

Great for jeans. I picked up 5 pairs that fit perfectly and the most expensive pair was $20. 3 out of the 5 were brand name. Clothing is definitely hit or miss - I've found a couple things in there, but I wouldn't "plan" to go shopping there. I've tried so many times to give this place a chance. I donate so many of my things to goodwill, but try and sell the nicer/newer/brand names here. I double check the website to make sure I'm bringing styles in that they need, and I only bring in things that are great/brand new condition. I've brought in brand new Free People, Michael Kors, Coach, Lucky Brand, etc; Things I've never even worn before! Almost every time I've been here they look through the bag in 5 minutes, sloppily put my items back, take 1 thing and give me $2 for it. It's obvious they don't even look through the whole bag. Meanwhile, I look around and see old, dingy items with stains, holes and piling. I'll never shop at this location, and I'm done trying to sell to them. It's hard to justify giving away nicer and brand name to goodwill, but at this point, at least it's not a waste of my time. read more

This place is a joke. I've tried on several occasions and it is horrendous. I drove 20 minutes to drop off probably 50 pieces of name brand items and pieces in good condition. They forgot to check me in which meant I had to wait 1.5 hours longer than the expected hour, drive back 20 minutes, only to be told my stuff had too many patterns and the only cute dress had discoloration. Ok, as a guy I don't expect much to be in plates closet. We just moved here from Florida and was looking for a nice fleece or jacket. They had a decent selection, but among these jackets was a north face fleece. The fleece was priced at $50. $50? Are you kidding me? At plates closet? I can buy a brand new one for $60! I even got a person to confirm that price and they were even baffled! Then, I found a decent Abercrombie jacket, again $50. For A Used Jacket!? Got to be joking. On the lighter side, my wife got two pairs of jeans in there for $7. And they were very nice jeans too. The sales at Plato's Closet are great. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The only two things I have against this place is that for a resale store, the prices are too high for some of the things (some of which are actually pretty beat up) and the fact that the store is too small and crowded. You will have to do some digging but I'm pretty experienced w/ these shopping conditions so I wasn't as overwhelmed as I would be if I wasn't. I also went looking for formal dresses but sadly they don't carry them. They have some great casual clothing though! Perfect for spring and summer! read more

We've just moved to Denver from AZ. I loved platos closet in chandler, AZ and couldn't wait to check out the one here. It was a bit more crowded than I expected. I wear size small and xtra small. I am 29 years old. I don't agree with some other reviews. I found a lot of h&m, Abercrombie, Charlotte Russe, forever 21 and several other fav brands. I was only shopping for sweaters as I have almost zilch since I didn't need them before. I bought 4 sweaters and put back about 10 more since I should have a budget lol. The sales staff was very friendly and immediately helpful. I will be back! read more

Honestly some of the most shit help I have ever received. I brought in 2 bags of clothes (Madewell, genetics jeans, adidas, nike, lululemon, etc) and my boyfriend brought in 2 (vans, adidas, northface, patagonia, Nike) as well and they didn't even open one of his bags, the bag was still completely tied with the knot. The girl that helped us first didn't make eye contact and was beyond rude. Then the girl that told us our bags were worth 12 and 17$ for 7 things said "ugh" as we walked in the door. You'd basically be better off giving your clothes to a homeless person. We brought in 2 big bags of clothing. Much of that clothing was brand new, never been worn, just wasn't my style. The girl that helped us did not seem happy about it and somehow managed to go through both bags in about 15 minutes while she was doing other work too such as sorting clothing and checking out customers. The only thing they chose was an old button up, saying that everything else was stained or old styles. All the clothes in the bags looked as they did when I dropped them off which makes me believe that they didn't really go through anything and just picked the one shirt that was on top of one of the bags. I offered winter clothing, jackets and dresses in extremely good condition and I'm not sure what "old styles" are but much of what we brought was only 1-3 months old so I'm not sure what she meant by that. I seriously don't know why I ever waste my time driving here instead of the park meadows location. First of all they close an hour later than park meadows but stop doing buys 30 minutes earlier? Sometimes an hour earlier? It literally changes every time I bring stuff in. And the teens behind the counter are either clueless or flat out rude and snobby. On the few occasions they agreed to take my things they always take twice as long as they originally tell me to "look through" them and then offer me a dollar amount that's so low it's insulting. I sell to Plato's ( Park Meadows) ALL THE TIME and I know what they buy and I know they have a range of what they can offer for each item. Without fail they either won't accept things or will offer me as little as they possibly can. $3 for a BRAND NEW pair of Nike Air Max's. It was all good, have been lots of times to buy until i decided to sell. First of all they tell me they're going to take 2 hours to review my clothes, I stay there shopping, had to wait ten minutes for smo to open a fitting room for me. They text me that i have until the end of the day to pick up my cash and the clothes we don't want. This was at 2pm, they close at 8. I have to go get everything before they close, if i go the next day they would turn my cash in STORE CREDIT!!!!!! and if I don't go in 48 hours they would DONATE IT. I was astonished, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Absolutely cero CERO consideration about other peoples time. I was working and then go to school at night but they decided they were more important. Of course they didn't tell me this when I left the clothes early. The cherry on top was that they only selected 5 items (3 hours to select 5 items) and they wanted to pay me 22 dollars!! :))) of course at that point I wasn't willing to give them a penny so I took all my clothes back. Of course the """employer""" didn't even put my clothes back in the bag. Absolutely rude, inconsiderate, no thank you, nothing. I stopped existing after that. I would never recommend this place to anyone looking for clothes or even a good experience. I came into the store on a Wednesday at 6 pm with only one small bag to sell. I was the only one in line and the girl with black hair behind the counter took her sweet time coming up to tell me that they were no longer taking buys for the evening. I asked why and she said they stop taking buys a couple hours before they close. This seems reasonable if not for the fact that I had one small bag, they closed in three hours, and their wait list said they had only 3 other buys to go through for the night. I persisted and said surely there was someway she could take my one bag, because I didn't come around the area often and it was pretty small. She glared at me, and rudely told me that she could make no exceptions, and told me that "It's not my problem". Her manager stepped in and offered me a $5 voucher because he could so clearly tell I was frustrated. So since I was there already and didn't want to waste my night, I looked around. I had to drag the bag of clothes around with me throughout the isles and even when multiple employees saw me struggling to carry my purse, the bag of clothes and the clothes I wanted to try on, not one offered to get me a dressing room or help. The clothes themselves were all picked through, a lot of old styles, and a lot of stained clothes or torn clothes. A jean jacket I picked up had bloodstains all up and down the sleeve of the jacket. If you're looking for quality and fashionable clothes you'll be out of luck and you'll have to do quite a bit of digging. I found one or two things I wanted to try on and I had to wander my way to the front to find someone to help me. Their dressing room was filled with someone else's clothes and graffiti on the walls, so they clearly don't do much cleaning. After I tried on some clothes, I had luck with a purse. When I went to go check out, I had to stand up front for nearly 5 minutes before anyone actually came up. The girl who checked me out had blonde braids and didn't know how to use the register, even though she offered to check me out and had to go find a manager. She disappeared into the back for quite a while and I was close to impatiently leaving. She eventually came back, with the manager from before, I got no apology or acknowledgment from either of them for the wait, or from the rude interaction I had with the girl earlier. I don't recommend this place to anyone looking for any resemblance of good costumer service, fashionable (or even clean) clothes, or a clean well kept store. Don't waste your time on this store, go to the park meadows location if your looking to buy or sell, I've had much better experiences there with both, and the staff is actually friendly (imagine that!) read more

This place has bad reviews for a reason! I dropped off my clothes and was told it would be 1 - 1 1/2 hours and they would text me when they were done. I came back after almost three hours with no text. I went back and no one had gone through my stuff entirely. Three of my items were on the counter. One girl said they didn't finish going through them but then another girl said they finished. They are so disorganized and don't know who did what or who's bag is who's. Is there no one supervising these workers?! This place is a waste of time. They are lying when they said they will give you 1/3 of what they sell. They don't give you more than $1-$3 per item and then sell it for $15+. Just donate it. It is better to give it to people in need or sell it on eBay then sell it to this place to sell for profit and pay their incompetent workers. Whoever runs this place should be embarrassed. If I could give zero stars I would. I have never seen so many rude employees in one store. It's usually one and I can deal with that. I took some clothes in yesterday, and of course they "had to pass" even though I had really nice and trendy clothes. I love the fact that they turn everyone away, yet their racks are extremely bare. They'll take Hollister jeans that are extremely worn out in the inner thighs though. I'd love to pay $20 for jeans that are about to give out. When I picked up my clothes, the gal brought me someone else's bucket. When I told her, she rolled her eyes and sighed at me. Whoever was "sorting" man handled my clothes to the point where all of my stuff is wrinkled, so I can't even take it to a different store or wear them without ironing them. I have been to two different locations. This one and the Lonetree location. Funny their rules are ever ao slightly different. I guess they will buy back crappy clothes over quality. I saw TONS of crappy very much worn Old Navy and Mossimo (target) stuff, yet they would not buy back my practically new New York and Company jeans, one year old and seriously never worn). I am done trying to use their service. They go on and on about quality clothes.. the two things they did buy from me.. one was a thermal aeropostal shirt (pj shirt.. they didn't buy the pants.. just the shirt) and a charming Charlies shirt that had a small stain on it. Think again before you try to sell or buy clothes here. And quite frankly if a girl with green AND blue eyeshadow on is the end all and say all of the worth of my style... This clearly must be the worst place to work EVER judging by the attitude the employee I dealt with had. I guess if you are 13 and size 2 this store would be heaven, but alas, I am neither so I wasn't overly impressed. This is really not my type of style either, it's very trendy, but I needed some trendy outfits for my new job and figured I could find some here. The selection for my size was minimal. There was a lot more for smaller sizes, and I am not a big girl. It is upsetting to be honest-this image that girls who wear a size 8 or 10 are fat. I walked out with 1 pair of pants.
