I've been to many Plato's in CA and their prices were higher and clothes better quality. I found one cute dress at this location, but most of the others had that "washed too many times" look. I could see paying $14/15 for an item of clothing in nearly used condition, but not one with stains or pilling. I'm down with their 5 stars sign up, discount clearance day. And I'm curious to see how this Plato's will react to clothes I might sell. read more

Walked in to sell a giant bag of clothes. Was immediately told "Oh we aren't doing buys today." Said they were having a sale and there was no time. But I walked in right at opening and there were at least 4 employees just standing there. I was planning on shopping too. I really like the Customer Service at this location they treat people with respect. And lots of the girls I see here have been here for awhile and always smiling. There is always a good selection, every time I go in there is a line of people selling their clothes. Great first time here! First told I was going to have wait an hour to get my stuff checked out. Not too happy. Then a very helpful employee (Kaitlin) said she would take a look at my stuff sooner since I only had one bag. Yay! After looking around the packed store, I found a couple things I liked. By the time I tried them on, my stuff had been reviewed. They took about 30% of what I brought which I find very reasonable. Took the trade and was on my way. Had a great experience here. The staff was kind and took my 4 garbage bags with a smile. They felt bad when they couldn't take more than a couple things, but I wasn't concerned. Trying to sell clothes here is next to impossible. I arrived 15 minutes after open and was told there were 4 people ahead of me, the wait would be 45 mins to an hour. I then received a text when I got in my car that's said 37 minute wait. I proceeded to run errands, gave them an hour came back and she said 'I'm just starting on yours'. The girl at the counter answered phone calls, checked other people in, and was overall completely distracted while sifting through my clothes. Perhaps the buyer should strictly do that. There were plenty of people working. At least 2 other girls behind the counter and 2-3 others out on the floor. Seems to me their process could use some work. Extremely disappointed. Walking around to find clothes and some of the skirts were pilling, shoes had excessive scuff marks. read more

I came here and sold a small amount of stuff without much hassle. The sales people were laid back and friendly, I spent a while browsing and while I didn't see anything must have I did come across some could haves, the prices are very reasonable and realistic for the type of clothes that they carry, unlike another second hand clothing store which boasts a large hairy animal as its mascot ahem. I found a hoodie and a few accessories as well as a pair of jeans. I would definitely stop by here again. read more

I keep on trying to find redeeming qualities. Anything with this store. 1st off, a 2-3 hour wait for my buy? This is ridiculous. Then, they didn't take any of my things. I easily brought in at least 50$ worth of things & got 15$. After a 2 hour wait. I used to work at Buffalo Exchange, by the way, if you have things to sell, take your stuff there. They offer real money & you won't grow old waiting for your things to be processed. While browsing the store, I saw the usual, teeny bopper party clothes, worn out jackets and tee shirts, & someone even managed to fool these buyers into purchasing FAKE Nikes. Which they were still trying to sell on Clearance for $17.50. Things that should be priced lower just because of style & brand & trend are over priced, & per usual, treasures are never purchased or always on clearance at this store. Please, management, owner, whoever. Train your employees. Teach them what to look for. Check seams, check brands, or something really crazy, follow trends. I will never come back to this store again. I've tried so many times just to be disappointed every single time. The staff is very friendly, I will say that. Everyone spoke to me & was very polite. But that could be because this store has a high theft rate. Saw one guy just walk in & our with shoes & no one but me seemed to notice. If you're looking for a place to tease your clothes and shoes & accessories, I suggest Buffalo Exchange on Broadway, or the Plato's Closet in either Lonetree, or Southlands. I told her I had bought the dress (she was raving about the print....) for around $30-$40 and it was in great condition. I was offered almost nothing for it! $4 and change. If I could give ZERO stars, I WOULD! I walked in and was ignored by the lady with the pink hair for more than 5 minutes. No "hi" or nothing. Just kept doing what she was doing. Then she FINALLY greeted with a negative ass tone when she realized I wanted to check in. Then they went through my stuff and turned down EVERYTHING. I called this morning to make sure it was going to be worth my 45 minute drive here to sell my clothes and they said that they take cardigans & short sleeves all year long. I thought "right on!". They finally went through my bag and when I was told that they were rejecting everything of mine, I asked why. They said that they just changed out inventory, blah blah blah. So I said that's weird because there's a bunch of cardigans and short sleeves on the sales floor and I was told this morning they accept them. I'll never return to this place and now I see why it has such low stars. Tip for management: employ people that actually want to be here and do their job. There's a lot of standing around, chit chat and ignoring going on. Horrible. I've never made a negative review but this place definitely deserves less than 0 stars. read more

This is hands down the best Plato's Closet in the area. I've been to a few of the others and have had bad experiences so I was a little cautious going into this one, but the differences hit me immediately. I was greeted right when I walked in the door and was offered help if I wanted anything off of the displays. They also offered to hold my clothes in a bin so that I wouldn't have to carry them around while I shopped. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly, and I would definitely recommend this location to everyone in Colorado! I think I'm a bit older than the target demographic (teen/20's) but I was able to find several pieces of clothing for a great price. Unlike the other locations that I've been to, especially the Westminster one, this location wasn't just filled with Hollister t-shirts and mini skirts. They had a large selection of designer denim and cute blouses that are suitable for any age group! I will definitely be returning and giving them my business! read more

I've been coming here for years and have always been treated amazingly well. I find lots of amazing clothes and accessories. Vianey, who helped me today, just reinforced my opinion that Plato's is tops in a competitive resale market. There were many designer brands, such as Coach, to choose from, and Vianey was so sweet and helpful that I left feeling very much relaxed and pleased with my experience. I went in here with some new shirts with tags still on them! and some good brand shoes like Liz Clairborne heels and some Tom's and some cute cowboy boots that were seriously just used once and a new necklace with the tag still on it! and for everything they would just give me 19$...... like I thought it was joke, I felt disappointed driving 30 minutes away and waiting an hour to find that out. read more

This place really is a joke. Numerous times I've tried to sell to them over the course of few years and everytime I wonder why I even bother walking in. It is true they buy junk , complete garbage and then leave behind the items of true value. Stuff that's brand new and in style with completely nothing wrong with it. Then the crap they do buy they price so ridiculously out of the range the item should be in. The damm manager at cherry creek is a complete "b". The rudest person I've ever met with a serious chip on her shoulder. You'll notice when she's buying she buys garbage and when she's pricing, its outrageous. Then if u mention to them that something is really priced way to high they are rude and totally forget their in a customer service position. I hate this stupid store. Thinking to open my own consignment that will buy every this junk store doesn't buy. Screw them. Even my best friends closet at least gives you fair value for your stuff. I just received a response from the owner who claimed they don't take the high end clothes I brought in despite A&F being the first choice of clothes they advertise the are looking for. Defended the inattentiveness of their staff as well as their lack of basic knowledge in what constitutes a high end brand as opposed to what they carry. Very defensive and told me I was trashing their store. Would never try to influence anyone's business model but perhaps if Plato's actually carried something better than GAP their sales could be higher. It might actually impact the reviews which clearly are mostly negative. Stick with poshmark who take ALL brands high end or low and are far more polite, respectful and organized than this dump. I'm with Monique. I brought in two A&F polos with tags attached never worn, an express t never worn with tags, a dolce and gabanna t shirt worn once, two polo blazers with tags ( bought and never worn by me) a Neil Barrett sweatshirt perfect afffliction t shirts worn once and 3 Ben Sherman button down short sleeve shirts. The cherry creek wanna bes behind the counter offered $3 for one affliction. Astounded and deciding to play I asked why they weren't interested in the designer clothes I had. She said- like who? i understand the fact that they always ask for an id when before they run your card but one time i couldn't purchase my clothes because i was paying with my husbands card and they would not run it because it was not me, they asked if i had proof that was my husband, too much of a hassle for second hand items if you ask me not only did they lose a sale they also lost a customer because the lady at the counter had no manners and very rudely said she would not run the card making me feel like i was doing something wrong or i was trying to use a strangers card. read more

I bought a pair of Lucky jeans here (for $35.00 USED mind you) and wore them the next day only to find out the zipper was defective and wouldn't stay up at all. They refused to take them back the very next day with the receipt because the tags were not still attached to the jeans. I even still had the tags for the jeans. You hear advertisements on the radio about Plato's Closet. I went there curious to see what it was all about and try to sell my clothes. I brought exactly what they were looking for- Forever 21 and Rue clothing. A snobby blond girl takes your clothes and pretends to look at them. While I was waiting I looked around the store to see what they were selling. I had many clothes that matched what was on the racks. Then the snobby blond girl told me that none of my clothes matched the criteria to buy. I was blown away because that was clearly not the case. I even tried to explain that what I had matched what was on the racks. She did not agree, but clearly did not look closely at what I had. Took my 15 yr old son's Size 16 and 29x30 jeans that are basically still brand new (some of which actually still has original tags on them) and hardly worn pants plus some stuff I can no longer wear in to sell. They said it would be 2 hours. The messaged me an hour later saying to get my Stuff they were not buying any of it. Ok fine I get my stuff is not what they are looking for but I get there and they never even looked at his jeans. They looked at my stuff and rejected everything based on it! How do I know this? I had everything nice and neat. The stuff they looked at was just balled and shoved back in the bag like trash! His jeans wear still nice and neat at the bottom! So they never touched them then tried to say it's not what's being sold at the mall which is crap because we bought them at the mall at Christmas! He just grew too fast. They also want you to pay for $20 the same pair of jeans I had in the bag. The difference is that my jeans had NO wear or tears and those were frayed various places around the ankle of the pants. read more

They take forever to only buy less than half of what you bring in. I went in with one big bag full of nice clothes and they told me it will take an hour. I left and got myself some lunch and an hour and thirty minutes later I still hadn't received their message saying my items were ready for pick up. I waited 30 more minutes and still nothing. I decided to go back to the store and by that time it had already been 2 hours of me waiting. I told the lady by the counter I was there to pick up my stuff and she looked at me and said that they haven't even looked through my bag yet. I ended up waiting almost three hours when they said it will only take one and at the end they only ended up buying 9 items from me . They should really learn how estimate their waiting time because the girls that work there are telling people that it will only take one hour when they know it will take more than that.
