I went here recently to drop off many boutique clothes and quite a few pieces from lululemon. They payed me 10 dollars for my lululemon tank tops, leggings, and shorts, then continued to sell those items for 25 each. I understand you need to make a profit but offering only 10 for pieces worn 1 time is unreasonable. They also only offered 2 dollars for my nice unworn tops from Shoefly. Only one worker was helpful whereas the rest were rude and ignored me when I asked questions. do not recommend!!! I wish I never went here- do not waste your time! read more

horrible experience! i went here to sell very few items of mine but they were clothes that were in immaculate condition (never worn) & still had tags attached to them. I brought maybe 8 items total and when i went to pick up they told me they took 3 of my items (two items i will attach a photograph of price tags) for a total of $14... both price tags were full price for $46-48 EACH! when i asked to see what clothes they had taken they demanded that they can't give me my clothes back because she clicked enter in the computer but I DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING at this point & she still hadn't cashed me out. be careful selling your clothes here because there's a chance you will get scammed! i've never left a review on this app but this experience was mind blowing read more

Rows and rows of gently used clothing ripe for the picking, this place can take a whole day away from your life. It is the PERFECT place to find a cheap pair of jeans, gently worn, but still in great shape. They also have dresses, tops, shoes, jewelry, purses, even DVDs. The selection of designer jeans is pretty good too. The tops are organized based on color which is really only helpful when you have a specific color in mind. I would prefer they were organized by size instead, like the jeans and shoes. They have a decent sized mens section at the back too. This is not a consignment shop! If you want to sell your clothes, bring them here and they will buy them from you right then. They have very similar requirements to a consignment store, such as, the clothes have to still be in style, gently worn, and clean. read more

I came in with 2 full bags full of clothing. The girl told me to fill out a form and then said to give her 15 minutes. So I looked around and waited. I waited for about an hour just to be told that only 5 articles of clothing could be taken for $15 because the rest of the clothing wasn't in style or the condition wasnt good enough. I've barely worn these clothes very much, and if I did, I took very good care of them. I was very shoked as to what happened, and they were also very snotty. I don't think I will be coming back or recommending this place to anyone. read more

I came in to drop off some clothes hoping to make an extra dollar or two but to my surprise that didn't buy any of my clothes. While the sales associate (short curly hair with classes) was going through my clothes she looked almost disgusted by my fairly new clothes. She also was whispering and giggling to another associate. I watched as she didn't even look through all of my stuff and she threw each items into the bag as if I had wasted her time with it. I honestly will not be coming back here and I will be telling my friends and family about this awful experience. Worst store I've ever been to, on Black Friday when they're supposed to open up at nine, they let two people go in at 8 because they had "early access" and then they proceeded to buy every good shoe in the store, and then they let in two other girls who didn't even have early access. I went in there to sell clothes they told me to wait 45 minutes and then next thing you know I've been standing in front of there faces for 2 hours. Be sure to check every cm of whatever you buy at this place because they don't pay any attention to what they are buying. Charged me $18 for a pair of jeans only to get them home and there's two huge holes in the thighs. Called and asked to return and get store credit and they said absolutely. This store is organized much better than the Madison store if you are shopping. If you are selling, you'll do much better with a bag full of tshirts and jeans than you will with higher end designer clothes. If you are selling shoes, handbags, jackets, it's probably not going to be worth the time to bring it in, as they are unwilling to pay a fair amount for quality items. There are deals for sure. But I have never had good luck selling clothes to them. Higher end brand name clothing. Even clothes that were bought there! Never worn and returned in just a few weeks, to be told they couldn't take them due to wear or style! When they do buy something, they pay next to nothing! Bought an American Eagle purse there that I just never carried, they bought it back for 2.50. If you want to sell your clothes, consignment or a yard sale would be a better option. I so want to own or manage one of their stores! I take my daughter and her friends here often, we pile her friends up and off we go to Whitesburg Drive in Huntsville. Their prices, their selection and their well informed clerks always make it enjoyable. Christmas every time we go. We sell our things when she outgrows them, then we replace what she has sold for what fits. It's a win win situation for the huge demographic area. read more

I have been to Plato's Closet twice, and both times were bad experiences. I took a couple of bags of clothes (which either still had tags on them, or had been worn 1 or 2 times), but was offered practically nothing for the few items the employee begrudgingly agreed to buy from me. I had no problem with the fact that most of my items were turned away, since they were out of season, and I was already informed by their website that they buy what is in style/season at the current time. What I had a problem with is the nasty attitude of the girl who evaluated my items. She picked up each item, looked at it as if it were a piece of garbage, and tossed it aside with a rolling of her her eyes. My items were new, clean, and not cheap. I hadn't walked in the store expecting to sell all my clothes and walk out rich, but I did expect to be treated with manners and respect, as a customer. The employee didn't look me in the face even one time, or offer a "Well, thanks for coming in!", or anything friendly at all. The other time I came into Plato's Closet was with my boyfriend, who just wanted to look around. We walked in, and the two girls behind the counter looked up with a blank stare, then went back to what they were doing, which looked like nothing at all. No "Welcome to Plato's Closet", or even a fake-smile was offered. We felt unwelcome, and it was as if they were annoyed that we were in their store. I think this establishment is a great operation as far as what it offers to the customer on a budget, but the staff needs a major lesson reguarding customer service. read more
