Managers and workers always gossiping. If you have so much work to do, then maybe not talking would help you get it done. Waited around for four hours to get my clothes back because I don't live in the area and finally told them I would just take my clothes back without any money. I tried to shop around while waiting but it was extremely crowded, and a baby was constantly screaming. I'm just so done with this location, I've tried around seven times and just never have had an awesome experience. They also barely give you anything for your nice clothes, and don't take lululemon. read more

This is a really nice location, I looked around while I was waiting for my items to be processed and they have some nice clothes! The employees were not rude, I read the reviews before coming in and that just want my experience. They are absolutely stingy here though. I donated 2 pairs of timberlands that were brand new (over $350 combined). They explained to me they know those are high priced shoes but they could only offer $8 since they were brand new, $7 if they're old. I also donated a pair of vans (again, brand new, $59.99 retail price), some Pumas that had been worn once ($64.99 retail price), some Fashion Nova heels that literally have just been delivered to me and I realized they were the wrong size so they were brand new never worn ($20.00 retail price), some Nike Air Force shoes ($99.99 retail price), and a whole suitcase full of Adidas, Champion, and Nike workout clothes. In addition, I dropped off some shirts from Garage, American Eagle, and Aerie, some Guess Jeans and other major designer jeans. I got most of the shoes for free since I was a manager for a major shoe retailer so I was not too concerned about that. They gave me $34 for everything! They wouldn't accept my two Michael Kors purses or my Prada wallet which is fine because I can just sell those online or to a pawn shop. Overall, good customer service, nice variety of clothes (I even saw some Doc Marten shoes and designer bags!) but the reviews stand true, they rip you off at this location! I've been in Plato's before in Virginia Beach and absolutely loved it! The one here has many items to chose from however I'm not that impressed. I was somewhat disappointed in the styles within the store and perhaps I'm comparing the two locations to harshly. A few of the clothes were in my opinion dated as well as the handbag area. The shoes in women's and men's were very nice . The store employees were very nice and greeted upon me going into the store. Perhaps I'll go back later on as they do get in clothes and other items all the time. We shall see... I would still recommend this place to others especially parents looking to save money for their children/teens just because I found some of the clothes to be a bit dated it doesn't mean that others will. Ridiculous! I went in with several name brand items. The Levi's jeans I brought in were priced online at $75-90 each, but I was willing to sell them for at least $20 each. The tops I brought in were from American Eagle and priced at $10-20 each. With three jeans at $20 each and three tops at $10, it should have been about $90 for all of the brand new product. They offered me and I'm not joking, $13.50 for all of it!! I don't know how this company prices items, but it's definitely not grounded in reality. read more

THE WORST Plato's closet location I've been to. The selection was crap which doesn't surprise me after seeing what they did and didn't take of mine. I returned home with all the name brand, brand new clothes with tags. They only took 5 of the nearly 40 pieces I brought in and gave me $13. I wasn't looking to make much money, I just wanted to stop by here before donating them. The worst part about this location was the incredibly RUDE staff!! Not a single pleasant look on their faces and they all just seemed to be so inconvenienced by me being there. They never looked me in the eye or smiled once, they just mumbled and told me where to set my duffle bags then pointed to where they set them once they were done. Plato's is a consignment shop. It holds women and men clothes. If you take your time and search through the items you can find some steals. Like barely worn American Eagle Jeans for less than $20. That's amazing! Shirts with tags still on them for less than $10. So not only some steal deals, but say you need to get rid of some clothes you can sell back to Plato's. It's a wonderful consignment shop I wish they were National. read more

Super happy with this place. I recently had a baby and needed new clothes. I was able to buy nearly a whole new wardrobe here for under $60. Also, I took clothes in and was give $64. The staff was nice to me and the check out process was easy. I will for sure be back again! read more

I AM NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN. I have gone here serval times to turn in clothing to sell or to just look around at clothes and MAYBE buy. However, today when I had turn in clothes to sell they had my bag for over an hour and never even looked at my clothes because nothing was moved in that bag and they returned the bag back to me when them taking nothing. The clothes that where in that bag where my husbands recently bought clothes that he could not fit they where brand new looking and some even had tags I just couldn't find the receipt to turn them back in for full price. I have always loved Plato's closet but this location isn't as nice as the ones I've been to back home or traveling. I love going to Plato's closets because I feel like it's a great business but this Plato's closet doesn't have a very nice selection and the staff isn't very friendly or welcoming. I had items in my trunk folded that I needed to bring in the store. I walked in and asked if I could use 1 of the 30 unused bins behind the counter and was told no. I then asked for a bag and was given that. After bringing in my items I put down my information and waited in my car to be called once the offer was in. After receiving the call I went into the store and waited patiently at the counter where I dropped my items off. One or the staff members told me to not stand there and to get in line. I stood in line for 20mins just to be told a majority of my items were rejected and offered $30.00. I said okay and took my stuff and went home. The entire experience was awful. The customer service was non existent and the staff was extremely rude. This business thrives on people like me donating and for the staff to be so rude makes me never want to come back. I rather put my items in a drop box for free and not get paid rather than be treated like this. Just terrible read more

I gave them one star because I couldn't do no stars. This place told me they would give me 20.00 for a brand new pair of nike max 90s, My BCGC purse and a pair of mid boots that had never been worn of course i declined that offer. They didnt want any of my clothing so they say but two weeks later I go through the bag of clothes I was trying to sell them with a friend who wanted the clothing and discover that my mid cut blue Jean jacket has been stolen out the bag of clothing that they so called didnt want. Because the bag was left in my car and I didn't go through it for 2 weeks I cant prove anything but that was the only place I took my clothes too and I'm sure nobody broke into my car. I know what I put in the bag and so does my friend who wanted the jacket. They didnt pay me for anything because I left thinking all my belongings had been placed back in my bags after they checked them for purchase. So if u must sell clothing their check you bags before u leave so u dont get robbed on the way out. read more

Best Plato's closet ever! I definitely would say this location is wayyyy better than the Wilmington location. I took my clothes to this location to sell and they gave me around 50$ for almost all of my stuff! The staff is always super friendly! When I go to the Plato's clothes in Wilmington they are SO rude and they take so long to look through my clothes and never buy anything. I LOVE this location! read more

I went in with a big thing of like 25 pieces of clothing. Most of them designer brands and a lot of them brand new, eve with tags. They just didn't fit. She said the brands I had weren't up to their standard, and offered me $2 for a pair of jeans that I got from Walmart lol. Which still had the price tag on them, never worn. Today I sold five pairs of shorts and a designer handbag and wallet to this location. I got $81 out of it. It's out of my closet so I'm not complaining about the price but I was a bit shocked. Once I got home and opened the bag and realized they bought almost everything I was confused as to how the heck I got such little money so I then decided to call the location to ask about the price breakdown because I was told I got $50 for the bag + $25 for the wallet, I'm now confused as to why the remaining was only worth $6 when they were mainly all this years style of shorts. The lady on the phone was a bit rude with the whole, "you should've asked questions in the store." I explained to her that once again I did but the lady at the counter was like, "is there a problem with the prices?" I explained to her that there was no problem I was just genuinely curious. The only decent customer service I received was the lady I encountered when I first dropped off my items. You guys are doing great! I managed a platos in Columbus, GA so I know only unhappy customers leave reviews. I love your store! My husband and I find something unexpected every time we come in. We stopped in last week because I told him I bet we could find a pair of those newer Van's athletic shoes and whadaya know, brand new black pair in his size plus another nice pair of nikes! We understand that Plato's is NOT the goodwill and you can't buy everything, only what sells! I've been to several plato's stores, this one smelt better than others however, the staff there wasn't the greatest. They just seemed like they had something to prove by working there. I brought in two heavy full bins and they took nothing. There were items that were brand new and still had tags. I don't even think they bothered to look through it and the girl was very rude. Worst platos I've ever been to they need to be shut down or run under new management. Literally made me wait 2 hours just so they wouldn't take anything. Read the reviews and was hesitant to sell to them as a result. However, I decided to give them a shot. I brought in very gently used name brands - Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, and Miss Me. They tried to offer $27 for two pairs of AE shorts, AE jeans, and Miss Me jeans. All of these items were purchased less than a year ago. Easily worth over $200 at full retail. They passed on the VS stuff, which surprised me. Anyway... Needless to say I'm taking my things home! read more

We always find things here. We have tried to sell here and they didn't buy much. We bought in a couple trash bags full. If your here just to shop it's a great place. They have a good selection for men and women. Work out,jeans,shorts,bags,phone cases,shoes,jewelry, dresses, shirts,LulaRoe and a lot more. They often have very cute outfits on display.
