As many other reviewers have said, this place is truly terrible. Not only are the people working here incredibly rude, they truly have no idea how to do their jobs. They buy random things that they personally think are cute and then it sits on racks or shelves foreverrrrrr. Not only that, but it takes them approximately two hours to look through a paper grocery bag full of clothes. They stand there staring open-mouthed at a counter full of T-shirts like they've never seen them before. I brought some stuff here two summers ago that was still there when I went back last week. I know they're the exact same pieces because they have a specific mark on a small tag inside. The store is always a huge, overpriced mess that's not worth it to look through. They have a "designer sunglasses" case too. Seriously, who's going to buy used sunglasses for $50? Are we insane? Just go to the thrift store. You'll find better stuff at a better deal. Same as others mentioned. The employees are rude, judgemental, and spoiled. They need to be replaced with people who don't have an attitude problem. They do not take good quality items and make you feel awful for trying to sell something by calling it "out of style". The owner is not friendly either, I've been to the NWA location and they are much better. It trickles down and there's nothing good to say about this place. read more

Everytime I come to this place there are young girls working who have not only terrible customer service, but are straight up bratty and rude. I had to ask the girl at my check out if she was okay because she was clearly frustrated at me looking through my thinks to make sure I can afford them. I bought a pair of the "soda" brand new shoes they sell. Within 30 of walking in them the strap broke. Platos closet did nothing for me. I explained this was supposed to be my summer shoe and I can't afford another. I explained I live out of town. They still wouldn't even exchange for the exact pair. DON'T SHOP HERE read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. They turn down nice, quality items, but have Walmart and Target brands hanging in their racks. Then the employees act like they are too good to look through or touch your things. Recently my son took in a tote of items in for me and mistakenly took the tote I had of items posted on FB. I called the store to see if there is something we could work out. They gave me $28 for a brand new pair of Air Force ones and a purse. WTF?!? Then said I could buy my shoes back for $60. This place is an absolute joke. They're either greedy or just hard up for money. Don't shop there. Don't sell there. I'll throw my stuff away before they get it... Money hungry @$$holes! read more

Been to this store twice now. Had learned about it with the Springfield location. This location is new and kinda easy to get into. The actual entrance is on the East, not the West side. We were greeted immediately upon arriving in the store. Staff are helpful adobe got a dress off am sequin for my wife to try on. Have to have an associate unlock fitting room doors to try on clothing. There are some great bargains in this store. If you are shopping here examine the clothing you are buying because some pieces have more wear and tear than expected. For example a dress my wide looked at had a portion of the neckline coming unravelled. Otherwise the quality appears good-very good. I also questioned how happy the staff are as very few of them appeared to be smiling. :(. Wonder what's up with that. read more

****RUDEST PEOPLE EVER**** I will never step foot in this store again! All the staff was standing up behind the counter when we asked for help! They all just gave us this inconvenienced look and then were rude. Not even 5 minutes later they were rude again to another person who asked for help! Not open when the hours said they were suppose to be. For someone who travels for a living and is in at least 4 different states a year.. the door to get in was not the easiest to find. It wasn't the front door, there was a note saying use east entrance. Again , not from there, I had no clue where east was at that point. Probably would get more traffic if people could find the door. I don't recommend anyone to shop or sell here! When they were still located by the mall, I would shop there all the time! Then, all they had were true name brands! They also would give you a fair pay out if you brought in clothes to sell. Now shopping at their new location it has all changed. The employees are EXTREMELY rude and very judge mental. FYI customers can hear you making fun of them in the dressing room and walking through the aisles. You also can't sell anything at this location either. In the past 6 months I've went in three times to sell all new or very gently used clothes. They turned down name brands like; PINK, American Eagle, BKE, Miss Me, Under Armor, Nike, and Vera Bradley. Most of my items still had the tags attached and they either wanted to give me $20 or nothing. When I've asked the employees why they want to offer $20 they say it's out of style or worn. How is it worn when there are the tags still on it?? Or the fact I bought it less than 6 months ago and can still be found in stores? Also while browsing through the store they had non name brands or cheap clothing. Why are you pricing Walmart brand clothing for $9-15 when I can go buy it for the same price BRAND NEW! I was reluctant to visit this location but I always visit both Plato's and their sister store Style Encore as I travel. I decided to sell a few items to have credit for a possible treasure found. They offered me a meager $3.00 total for a pair of crystal earring, 2 gold plated designer necklaces and a fab pair of Kate Spade sunglasses. Are you kidding me!!! We I asked the lady what the offer for the sunglasses alone was, she stutters and just repeat the $3.00 for the four items. Needless to say, to took my items back home. This is the worst low balling PC I have been to. Lots of cheap clothes and plastic or pleather shoes. Joplin deserves better. read more

I've tried many times to sell my NEVER WORN clothes there. The last time I went I didn't even have to ask why they didn't take them. As usual, they weren't "in style," which is bull.
