I went to return shoes, tags on, still attached together. They don't take returns on shoes -- this isn't posted anywhere in the store. When questioned, they reply was " it's on your receipt".? Of course by the time you get a receipt, you've already purchase, so can't return. It's like the practice of bait and switch. In short, I'll never go back - not that they care. Workers are always rude & always on their phones. We've come to trade in clothes & I've watched them put the clothes on the shelf for waiting & not once look in them. They get on their phones and then 20 minutes later send the we're done sorting text to you and take nothing which isn't a surprise since they aren't willing to actually do their jobs. read more

I dropped off a box full of mostly Abercrombie, lulus, express, and other mall brand items that are all new/ on trend. Most of the box was Abercrombie which is in high demand right now. They took absolutely nothing. I walked around the store after I dropped stuff off and half the items were ripped or stained and from places like forever 21 or fashion nova which is all cheap and not worth buying second hand. 2 stars because I've gone here for years and have had good luck before. But this last time I went and dropped off an entire bin of gently used and new clothing items including brands like Madewell, Pact, Bohme, and Abercrombie. They took 2 items for $6. Later, when I opened the bin, it was clear they had only gone through the top few items. Definitely not worth your time, and I doubt I'll ever be going back. It's a shame, because it's a really cool concept! This location really needs to step it up though. read more

If you're having a good day and want it to take a turn for the worst, by all means please stop at this store. I can only assume the main requirement to be able to work here is to act like the worst possible person on the planet and beyond. A lady was holding her baby and when it started crying, IMMEDIATELY the two workers gave dirty looks to each other and said (very loudly) "this is why i'll never have kids, babies are soooo loud and annoying--i'd never take it in public." Yikes! I gave the guy my clothes and he said it would take an hour at most. I check back in at an hour and 40 mins, he blankly stared at me..."Did you get the text?" "No?" "Then i think you know your answer." 2.5 hours go by and i stop in again to which he replied "you have a lot of clothes this is going to take awhile" but strangely enough all my clothes were in the corner...No one had been touching them, they were in the same spot the last time i left. No one was in the store, he was just talking to the other coworker complaining about who knows what. Over 3 hours later i get a text saying "sorry we couldn't make an offer, please let us know if you'd like us to donate your clothes." No thanks. No one went through my clothes, it's not about the money--more about the complete waste of time. Don't say "an hour at most" and have it be over 3 hours with no sold items (I had a $250 never worn Ecco pair of shoes in there btw). I was told that it would take about 35 minutes, so I went to grab a bite to eat next door to wait. When I came back, I was told they were going to pass on all of it due to stains and it not being what they are looking for right now. None of the clothes were stained, and out of the hundreds of items I had brought it was obvious that they did not look through ANYTHING. The clothes were stacked in the exact order I had dropped them off. This was a complete waste of my only day off, and shows how inconsiderate the workers were of my time. I had to leave this Plato's closet because of how immature and unpleasant of an environment this was. This employee particularly was running around the store taking phone calls, complaining about the customers calling & telling her teammates how to "handle the calls." The one call i overheard she seemed to be pretty condescending with the customers on the phone & a bit antagonistic. Typically i would disregard given i expect young adults to be working in retail, however she was so loud, obnoxious & disruptive that I see past it. I put my things down and left after twenty minutes of what seemed to be like high school. Takes a lot for me to write a poor review given the fact i work in a salon environment where customer service is key & understand that not everyday is perfect. All they're taking in is junk -- T-shirts, shorts, summer skirts, summer dresses -- but nothing quality, so of course all they're selling is junk. We brought in 3 huge Ikea bags of my college daughters clothes with current Lululemon , Alo yoga, set active and many other name brands and they hardly took anything. Yet you look around the store and it's filled with junk !!I I'm going back to our local Plato's in Georgia where they will probably give several hundred dollars for these name brand clothes. Honestly this location has been going down for a while... unhelpful staff, rude, and clueless. Also incredibly un accommodating. My nose started bleeding in store and I asked to use the restroom to wash off my hands. They said I could not and would have to go somewhere else . Glad to know they don't care about any sort of health standards or medical issues. EXTREMELY RUDE & UNPROFFESIONAL! The male cashier pictured did not say one word to me as I approached the register and began to check out. I made two purchases and he forgot to add my discount which I mentioned multiple times for BOTH PURCHASES. Never once apologized or even acknowledged my existence, let alone his multiple errors. I had to come back into the store immediately after realizing I was overcharged for the adjustment. The presumed manager did the adjustment after initially appearing annoyed at the inconvenience and the fact that I was back in the store She did try to be apologetic. Also girly with the glasses was having an EXTREMELY inappropriate conversation with another associate while I was within earshot in the fitting room. About sugar daddys and her, we'll call it "dating life". I was totally uncomfortable the entire time. The rudest staff i am encountered living in Nashville. I tool my designer clothes in folded like a store. They said they could use none of them, and they were sperry boots, Jessica Simpson, INC, e allen, MXM, they said my clothes were not good enough.. Then, I came back in to get them, they had thrown then back on my back unfolded like they were trash... I said to them thank you for resolving my clothes and they said your welcome as they watched me walk away with a broken bag that fell out on their NASTY ASS floor...they literally watched me gather my clothes up, never asked to help me, or give me a bag...they just sat and looked at me. As I drug everything to my car, the guy across from that store said to me girl they are alllllll assholes there... Assistant Manager very rude. They value your items super low and refused to cancel transaction. I used them a few years ago and was very pleased , but will not ever use them again. Don't waste your time coming here. The people working don't have any sense of style and therefore pick no clothes that SHOULD be sold to reflect modern trends that will sell. Took 30+ items and passed on all - if they're out of season that's fine but when you pass on converse, Abercrombie jeans, Zara items, you're losing your own business. Workers didn't even acknowledge me waiting in line to sell for a good 10 minutes - it's totally understandable if you're busy but at least greet the people coming into your store. Awful. There was no one in the store. Four girls working. We dropped off a Rubbermaid bin filled with Brand name high end dry cleaned and folded clothes. Clearly this is not the store for me to consign in. The place is filthy. The clothes and shoes they sell are cheap and beat up. And the girls working are sloppy and dirty looking. She took 18 pcs. From a huge bin. And said wear and out of date labels was the reason for not accepting the rest lol. Comical and insulting all in one bundle. Also they literally threw the clothes back in the bin. Or rolled them in a ball. As previsouly mentioned they came in folded neatly cleaned and some even pressed ready to consign. This is like goodwill level not a consignment store. Cool store with a lot of nice stuff. One worker with really colorful hair started yelling at some girl for going into the fitting room without checking with her first. She started violently banging on the door and asked the girl what her problem was and why she didn't ask for fitting room assistance. She made everyone in the store super uncomfortable as she just kept yelling at the poor girl lol. I accidentally touched the rack for employees only and she yelled at me too. I wanted to keep looking around but I felt uncomfortable staying any longer, plus I definitely don't want to support a place who hires insane people who YELLS at customers just trying to shop. there are better ways to approach certain things, and this lady doesn't know how to treat people with respect. read more

Went in here today, left my home early because it says they open at 10am. Of course today they had a 1hr long staff meeting and closed down the store until 11. It wouldn't be a huge deal, except I'm a 50m drive to the area one way. I finally am able to go inside after waiting an hour. Give them my container of things to sell. Then told me in 20m they would text me to let me know when I can pick up. Well, they contacted me back in 5m , I went in & they told me "sorry we weren't able to purchase anything". Now I'm an understanding person, so I asked "why not?" Seeing how my entire bin was filled with designer or name brand items mostly brand new never worn. They told me "some styles weren't on trend & we don't take skinny jeans". I said which items aren't on trend ? And several of my jeans were high rise Levi mom jean style or boyfriend jean style , straight leg- only 2 pairs were skinny American Eagle jeans also only 3/4 m old maybe worn 2x. She said "well I didn't look at these items myself so I can't say". I opened the lid off my bin and it wasn't even looked through - the same top I put on top was still there folded exactly how it was when I put it in. I asked "why does my bin look like no one even looked in it at all ? " she said "someone did and we just didn't see anything , so you want to donate it ?" I said "no, I have tons of brand new on trend & designer items, it doesn't seem reasonable that in this entire bin you aren't interested in anything". I then left , went to another plato's location 24m away, and guess what - they purchased almost all of my items, I made over $200! So I learned I'll never come back to this location again. When I told the successful location that this location didn't buy a single thing - why? That lady told me "we hear that all the time , yeah just don't go there unless you're 15 years old and turn in nothing but forever 21 junk they aren't interested it seems". I guess THIS location doesn't have taste. All of my brand new with tags, White House Black market business dresses and blouses (that retailed over $150 in some cases), Levi high rise brand new mom jeans (over $120 each retail) and brand new sandals in their boxes all designer, all over $75+ a pair retail, this location didn't want any of. DO NOT SELL CLOTHES HERE! The woman with the rainbow hair, which I think is the manager, was the rudest retail worker I've ever seen. I'm in my mid twenties and she said more than five times with an eye roll, "we only except Gen Z clothes here, so honestly we probably won't buy a lot of your clothes", this was said before she even opened the bag. The items were brand new Zara, American Eagle and Guess. I felt completely discriminated against! Also she pointed out that they stopped buying clothes at 8pm... which was in 38 minutes. It was easy to see that she was miserable at her job, but it's no excuse to treat people without human decency. I wouldn't be surprised if the store got sued soon for discrimination. When I came to pick up my items, they informed me they could take one item for $3. A pair of Outdoor Voices leggings that were originally $85. They handed me back my bag which was completely ripped/destroyed and all my clothes had just been shoved back in. Also, store smells like weed and is just genuinely gross. read more

FIRE THE RAINBOW HAIR MANAGER!!! We were in this store for less than an hour waiting on them to go through our bags and witnessed some of the most disgusting behavior I've ever seen. She screamed at both employees and customers and humiliated a younger employee as we were checking out because she used the wrong register on accident. She continued to scream and badger her and continued w heinous language while the entire store sat and watched. Another customer confronted her and called her out for her malicious and condescending intent to embarrass her employee. Her defense (aka screaming) to the customer was that she can't even leave for 5 minutes to go to the bathroom because the rest of the employees are "incapabable", which is absolutely not true! The poor other employee was in tears checking me out and was profusely apologizing when it wasn't even her fault. The manager screaming back at a customer was something I've never seen before in customer service. FIRE THIS MANAGER IMMEDIATELY! I am APPALED AT THIS TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT & THE MANAGERS BEHAVIOR. I've been a frequent buyer from this store- and I mean I WEEKLY go to this store and drop tons of cash. I've never had a return except for today, I spent over $150 and needed to return TWO items that were both under $10 since they didn't fit as well at home as they had at the store (with shoes the pants were too long. I didn't even want a refund I wanted to find pants that did fit so still planned on spending money in the store. I went in and the woman told me she would not give me store credit (oh they also never refund anything it's store credit) because I was ONE DAY OVER the refund time. You only have 7 days to bring any items in. Keep in mind yesterday was thanksgiving so I couldn't come in yesterday which would have been the 7th day. They refused me. They also don't tell you this 7 day refund policy when paying. Apparently there is a small note printed at the very bottom of the receipt but I wish they would use their mouths for something besides talking to each other and inform clients of this more efficiently. Checked my bank account and I spent over $1000 in this store last month in October. This is the only store I purchase clothes from. They just lost a very loyal customer over ONE DAY when I wasn't even asking for my money back but a store credit. I won't be back. read more

It breaks my heart, but this location of Plato's Closet has never provided a pleasant experience. The staff is childish and rude, they will always greet you with a very forced and annoyed "welcome to plato's closet", which immediately lets you know that these ladies do not want your business. On the many occasions I've been to the shop, I've heard lots of mean gossip, I've witnessed the buyers actually laugh mockingly at someone's clothes while they were sorting them, and I've been stared at like I was a very unfashionable piece of dog crap on the bottom of their shoe. I've been a buyer for another large resale company, and I am truly appalled at how they act. I get it, it's busy on the weekend, retail is difficult, and sorting clothes can be tedious. That is no reason to be truly unfriendly and rude to your customers only to feign apologetic kindness when they check out. All of that aside, the shop is consistently messy and there is a pretty high percentage of worn down, shrunk, and out-of-style clothing. Will I continue going? Probably.... I can normally find something interesting to add to my closet. But I always have to prepare myself, because I always leave in a bad mood. read more
