Took three bags full of pristine women's and men's clothing. Items were purchased from White House/Black Market, Macy's, Nordstrom's, Old Navy, etc. NOTHING was accepted by this location. I was told that the items were "too old" and they were looking for items purchased after 2023. Even an unworn pair of Men's Italian leather loafers was rejected. So, let me understand, you can only enjoy your clothes for three years, and then you can try to sell to Plato's Closet. What a farce.... read more

Horrible customer service! They lost my bags and their solution was that they would call me when/if they ever received them back or I can call the authorities and tell them that they stole from me. What a poor, lazy solution to a problem they created! read more

Every time I bring things in, even NEW items, they never buy. I think it's because I'm plus sized. I have seen OLD and very worn items being bought. Never a good experience here. This isn't a boutique!! Gently used is what's advertised. read more

Rude employees. They told me they were accepting items but when I got there with my 8 bags of clothes they said they could only take two at a time and each bag would take two hours to go through. If it takes an employee two hours to go through two bags there's definitely a problem with their system. Her recommendation to me was to get there before they open in the morning and wait there with my bags until they open. This seems like some serious bullshit to go through just to get rid of some clothes at a clothing shop. Oh and I showed up only 15 minutes after they opened and they said I came too late! Whoever is in charge of this location is doing a poor job. I have never had this kind of problem at other Plato's Closets. Step it up guys. read more

Just don't go here. Mediocre selection, terrible customer service, and if you're bringing clothes to sell, be prepared to go right back to your car with all of it because they won't take it. You're better off going to one of the many thrift stores in the area to shop and donate. read more

So very dissatisfied and disappointed with this location I called ahead of time because I live an hour away to see if they were taking items and until what time, I was told 7:00. They had a sign on the door after I drove an hour to sell items. I sell all the time to different platos, 100s of pieces of jewelry since my moms has a Jewelry business. When I walked in after I called to make sure since I was making a really far drive, I had Alyssa at the front tell me no, we aren't taking anything, I tried explaining to her in a professional way that it wasn't right, I had just called before to make sure this wouldn't happen. She totally disregarded me, didn't even say sorry, continued to cut me off and what I was saying over and over again when I was just trying to explain to her the situation. The way she treated me was disgusting and I will never come to this store again. Sad because I did like the selection at this store but with the way I was treated forget it. They say people remember stories and this is a store I would never recommend to anyone. read more

I came to platos to sell some clothes and i saw a buying resumes at 2:00pm sign so i stayed in town shopping around to kill time. I came back at 2:00 on the dot and they said they weren't buying until 4:00 now and was quite rude about it. Don't think ill be selling my clothes there again. read more

If I could give a worse rating for this location, I would!! Let me first say that we did call {BEFORE} we made the 50 min drive and asked what time they were taking clothes til. We told them where we were coming from (so that we didn't waste a drive, gas, etc...) and headed out. After our almost hour drive, we walked in with our bags and were told that they decided to stop taking clothes early today because they have a lot to go through. I reminded them that we had called before we left and what they had told us... All the girl could say was sorry, we just can't accommodate you today. Like... are you kidding me we confirmed BEFORE we left & you said nothing about that even being a possibility. This is the worst example of customer service I've ever seen! I go in here every few months. It's hit or miss, but I guess that is expected for a consignment clothing store. If you take the time to look, you will probably find something. One thing I will say is the store is pretty unorganized. I don't really understand their buying clothes policy either. I tried to sell clothes to them a few months ago and prior to them looking at them they explained that they do not take any clothes with stains, rips, tears, etc. But today when I went into the store, I found a shirt that I really liked and was planning to buy and noticed there was a very noticeable stain on the chest area. This use to me my go-to resell spot to shop and sell 10 + years ago! They always had wonderful selection, and the customer service was decent. Now , in the last two years I've gone in there 2-3 times and the cashier workers are so rude. Also , I called recently asking if they happen to get in a style of jeans I was looking for or know if they usually see them come in ect and the girl should not work with people. Her response "I mean Idk we sell jeans" -_- I heard laughing in background while I was replying to her and I realized, yeah my money won't be spent there ever again. Just too many times of bad customer service and it really makes you not want to spend your hard earned money there. Also the quality of the clothes they accept I have noticed , has gotten horrible. I get it why they don't rank high on reviews! I spent $300+ yesterday and a pair of shoes and boots didn't make it in my bag .. they stayed on the side .. I didnt realize it until I got to Disney World after leaving Plato's Closet .. I immediately called Plato's Closet .. they had the sandals (I was absolutely in love with them) and they (the owner) was beyond unwilling to hold them less then 24 hrs for me to drive back to get them before I would have to back track to Miami .. I was willing to add 2.5 hours just to get these sandals .. I even offered an extra $20 just to hold them ... she told one of the employees to tell me they go back on the shelf when the close .. sooooooo, I call when they open .. they should now be sitting on a shelf again .. guess what???? They are gone and I was told they must have sold (I guess someone walked right in when they opened and bought them .. yeah right!) .. unbelievable business owner to not be willing to work with me after dropping $300 .. i also offered to pay an employee to ship them to me .. the business owner was hell bent on not consideRing that ... I am never pushy and I was nothing but laid back and kind until now while writing this review ... I will leave a review everywhere I can!!!!!!! NEGATIVE 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!! At first I thought this was a really good business, until I tried to sell my own clothing there for the first time. Evidently the young people who sort through your clothes can't sense excellent style when they see it. I offered them an entire bag full of beautiful and great quality clothing for them to look through, yet they only took three items and turned the rest down. Most of the garments I was trying to sell to them were in better shape then what was in the store. My clothing that I was offering was better than what the employees were wearing. I will not be back to buy lesser quality clothing than what I would try to sell. I will do much better trying to donate my clothing to our local Hospice shop, or perhaps on Amazon. A friend told me about this place so I went last week. I felt like it's targeted at a younger crowd, but I still found a few things to buy. The prices pleasantly surprised me. Some of them are comparable to Goodwill, but the quality of clothes is better. There's a decent guy's section too. Right now it seems like they're overstocked. Bring 8 name brand items 7 of which are in style with the tags (7 items from AE and 1 from buckle) and they want to give me $25 for 6 of the items. I look over and see a tank top they have on the rack from Walmart for $4. When brand new its was $4.97 (I have the same tank top, so I know). I get they have to make money but really half the clothes are crap and over priced. I bring in up to date clothes with tags still on and you want to give me pennies.... read more

This place is great they have a really great selection and are super fair with prices. They also buy your clothes and give you money on the spot not many places do that. The staff is super nice and super helpful. When I need an outfit that's inexpensive I know where to go. read more

I have a lot of thoughts on this place. I tend to come in once a month because it is a consignment shop so the clothes are constantly rotating so it's hit or miss to find something. Most of the time you can find something. My main issue here is if your selling clothes. I hate to say it but don't bother. I have tried several times and they tend to be oddly selective with what they pick. I understand it's a younger demographic and that's not my issue. Things I've brought there from places like hollister, urban outfitters, American eagle they still turned down. Most the stuff I offer to sell have never been worn (bought on a whim then just was too lazy to return) and quite a few things still had the tags on it. I asked once about it even mentioning the tags still on it and they it's because of inventory reason. I understand that but when they tell you several times it's a bit discouraging to want to sell. I offered a coach purse once and the girl said it wasn't a good color (the bag was all black) when I asked why. It's discouraging when you bring in clothes or accessories that have never been worn, things they look to sell, from places targeted to the democratic they are trying to appeal and they say no then you shop and some of the clothes they're selling are faded and have holes in some of the clothes (not including when it's actually part of the style). Pretty much if you just shop here the selection is great but don't bother selling clothes it's a joke when it comes to what they look for sometimes. read more
