I wanted to donate clothes, so I looked on their specific website on clothes they needed, donated everything they said they needed. I was told it was going to be a 6 hour wait (no big deal). I get a text message 20 minutes later that my order was ready to be picked up. I go back and they took the only stuff that I put in there that WASN'T recommended on their website. They left ALL the great condition name brand stuff that they recommended at the bottom of the page. They wonder why they don't get good business, it's because they buy clothes that are not trending and that are not name brand, and expect people to buy them. I don't even know where to begin on this place. The racks are incredibly packed with cheesy millennial quote garbage. i don't even think justice is on the same level of tacky as your store. Most plato's closet I've been to all have felt more higher-end. When I walked in ; it smelt like a thrift store, there was only a handful of men's clothing worth anything but the prices are close to retail I would rather pay the extra few dollars, had to be one of the worst plato's closet and I have been to. read more

This place is hit and miss for me. If I get someone buying my clothes that actually knows name brands other than pink and forever 21 (even though those aren't really name brands anyway) then it's good but if I get an employee who doesn't know anything about clothes and fashion, it's pointless. I've brought in bags full of designer clothes never worn, and have had more than one employee pass up literally probably $1000 bag worth of clothes. You have to land on the right one to sell good items. Once I noticed a new Victoria's sport sweatshirt was still in my stuff with the tags on it and leggings as well- (because they didn't finish going through it), and they also passed up some Jimmy Choo heels. Also, anytime I go to sell items I have to call ahead because so many times I've went in at 6 or 7 and have been told that they're done buying for the night. The reason I've been give is so they aren't stuck there until midnight, whatever that means. The employees are usually clearly irritated if you come in around 6:45 and the deadline is 7pm- and I feel their attitude affects their buying process around then hence I've went home and noticed my stuff hadn't been looked at. I saw two couples the same night get turned away and each couple conveyed to the employees how upset they were, and that they didn't really live anywhere near there. They both asked if this information was online which they were told it was not. I feel there should be a set time that buys are cut off, or the information should be online, although I don't really see why one can't sell as long as it's before 8:30. When I'm in there around these hours there's a lot of gossiping between the employees and texting and not a lot of anything else- just saying‍‍ Finally, they need to properly train their employees to know brands other than Lululemon and Pink. Don't get me wrong. I love Lululemon, but it's not the only high end yoga wear there is, and there are so many other stellar brands out there. Everyone wins if they're properly educated. read more

They buy and sell clothes that are about 2 years old or less. Target demographic is probably 13-33. Lots of jeans and tops and dresses from places like forever 21, express and dillards. Most stuff is at least 50% off retail and almost new to very good condition. Some nice picks on shoes. Selection leans towards brightly colored, trendy, juniors type clothing. Lots of sequined, sparkly things. The store is about 50% denim. Rows and rows of jeans. I'm guessing that's why they like to buy and sell because they would not buy a dress I brought in. They said they had too many dresses in inventory. But, they actually have a better selection of juniors clothes and shoes than places like tj maxx and gordmans and better prices. Saying hello or good morning isn't too hard especially when you are working. I brought in brand new and some gently loved high heels size 10 with various EXPENSIVE brands like BCBG, FREE PEOPLE, Betsy Johnson, And Guess. They took one pair of BCBG boots that were brand new and a FREE PEOPLE skirt. Want to guess how much they offered me? $10.40 . $10.40 for a pair of boots that retail for over $100 and a FREE PEOPLE skirt that retails for over $50. They told me to give them 10 to 15 minutes for them to get done, they literally didn't even go through my whole box of things, threw it on the ground and didn't even inform me that they were finished with my items. They were just letting my roam their horrible selection of clothes aimlessly till I finally took initiative and asked if they were finished with my items. If you're looking to sell items that are of high quality and brand, go to Style Encore. It's more of a mature crowd and their customer service isn't ran by a bunch of high school/ College students that CLEARLY hate their jobs and their pretentious attitudes. I've been taking clothes here to sell for over two years and the past few times I've come in, they don't buy anything off of you and when they do it's usually three items for $4. I typically bring in items from Victoria's Secret and places that are on Plato's online list for brands they search buy. Very disappointed. I brought two bags full of clothes that I never or rarely had worn. Some clothes still had original tags. I also had hats and shoes. They didn't accept any items. I kind of understand because men's clothes can be hard to sell, but compared to the items on the shelves, I would've thought that my clothes would've had no problem selling. The thing that made me most upset is that they said my items had "too much wear." Like I said, most were brand new and looked immaculate compared to other items in the store. The selection of clothes is so beyond outdated and tacky, which I find surprising since I went in with a friend once who had tons of cute clothes and the only thing they bought was a pair of Hollister jeans which they only forked over $6.00 for. Despite the weak selection, you occasionally come across a gem or two per visit and when you make your way to the back to try it on, the entire place is staffed by stuck-up teenage girls. They will not OFFER to get you a room, and when you ask for one, they will be rude about it, as if you're inconveniencing them by asking them to do their job. I had another friend describe the Plato's Closet experience perfectly: "Every time I come here, I tell myself I will never come back. Every time I come back, I remember why."
