I figured "wow if theyre buying these bags, theyd jump to buy my lightly used designers off me." Nope. they didnt buy a single one. I had about 15 bags I wanted to sell and not a single one taken. Wish I could give them 0 stars. I came in with 5 giant bucket/bags of barely worn clothes and waited an entire hour and 20 minutes. I was the first person there and all the people who came after me got their items checked before I did. There was 5 teenage girls working here and not one of them checked my items until I had to address them. These employees spent an entire hour talking and laughing and even trying on others people clothes. If you aren't gonna take your job seriously, maybe you shouldn't have one. Finally after having my entire morning wasted and getting multiple dirty looks from these employees, I was given the wrong clothes back. This store was so disorganized and not to mention the smell made me want to vomit. Along with rude looks, these employees gave me $0 FOR 5 BAGS OF CLOTHES. Not impressed with the purchasing of items from the Plano store. I brought in H&M, Alterd State (tags were not even off of some items) and many Name brand items including a brand new pair of Fabletic pants only to be told that my items were not what they sell. Told me the Jr dresses that I had were kid sizes and that they were looking for clothing the teens could wear back to school. Everything in my one bag was only a year or so old and they gave me $7.50 for 3 items. I will not sell at this store ever again. read more

Not our cup of tea anymore. Decent amount of clothes to rifle through, better quality at similar prices for brand new at Ross. Very disappointed that the majority of our name brand stuff wasn't purchased, kinda shocked actually. Some was more winter and it was July so fair enough. The couple items purchased were the lowest quality off brand stuff our daughter bought from online China store. I think what stuck in my craw the most is that we brought everything in pressed, many brand new with tags that were carefully hung, organized and folded then we received a pile of clothes back like a teenagers dirty laundry basket. They had a nice young man there who was very personable and service oriented. Not familiar with selling things there in a long time, took some prodding to get someone to explain the process. Then the next staff person acted bent out of shape for doing what we were told and really annoyed we didn't know next steps. Leadership trickles top down. It can't be a high paying job the overhead has to be ridiculous to get an ROI so I'm wondering how they will continue to be in business. I'd hire the one young man in a heart beat, he just needs some excellent leaders & mentors to boost him to the next level. We took in a ton of clothes today, my boyfriend had a huge box full. We were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait which was fine so we went to grab food nearby. We were told we would get a text notification when our order was ready to be picked up. After us waiting an hour we hadn't received a text that our clothes were done so we just headed back over. When we showed up our order was ready and sitting on the shelf, however we waited an hour and got no text that our order was ready. And on top of all of that they didn't even take any of our clothes so we basically waited an hour for nothing. Uptown Cheapscape is WAY better and professional. read more

If you're planning to sell here don't waste your time. They didn't even go through my bags and I had eight trash bags. Full of new and pretty new brand-name clothes that had just been washed. If not still had the tags on them. The curly haired worker (The rude one with the white skin and orange ass mismatched foundation face) is blackmailing the manager so she can get away with whatever she wants including talking really rude to customers and not going through their stuff telling me it was "ALL STAINED" really loud in front of a group of people whenever I went to the one in Dallas they bought $200 out of the SAME stuff where as this place only bought one thing for three dollars. If I had to rate this place based on buying alone, I'd give it more stars. Most of the time, this store has a really good selection and you can get some great buys. Personally, I cant imagine why anyone would buy Miss Me or other designer jeans anywhere else. They always have a ton of those here. As for the other items- sometimes it's total crap, but it changes often and depending on the week, you can really luck out. But if you want to sell things? Good luck. I came here with a bunch of gently used or brand new clothing; about 3 bins full. All of it on par or better than what they sell. Lots of it was name brand stuff, some with tags still on. They didn't buy a single thing- not one single thing. Because it wasn't the specific brands they were looking for. They didn't mention what "specific brands" those brands were. Mind you, most of the brands I had were exactly the brands seen on their hangers. (Perhaps that's why? They had them already?) I noticed they also sell a ton of Faded Glory, Mossimo and Merona. Not exactly high end / high demand brands considering those come from Walmart, Target and Kohl's. I understand this isn't the place to sell any super expensive designer stuff, and the store caters mostly to 20 something women + younger, but those were mostly the styles I brought in. If there are only specific brands they buy at a given time, how about some way of telling people those brands up front? Or is it just depending on the discretion of whoever is working there that day? My experience was a waste of time- over an hour waiting for them to take a quick look through my stuff only to be told, "Nope, sorry." In the end, I guess I'm kind of glad they didn't buy anything back, reading the other reviews here, it sounds like they pay a ridiculously small amount anyway for whatever they do buy. I can understand what they need to do to keep the prices so low - but $4 for a $150 dress (as written by another poster) is a little nuts. ETA: I opted to donate my items to Operation Kindness instead. Yes, they even take clothing and shoes. They did not look at any of the clothes I brought in. The clothes were organized and handed back to me exactly the way I arranged them when I brought in. Management should be checking that people do their job and be considerate and have better customer service. I know they were not honest with me when they just handed me back my bags exactly the way it was organized. They probably just got overwhelmed by the bags behind the counter and didn't want to do them. Save me time and just say your not accepting new items at this time. read more

Usually a pretty good selection. I feed my sneaker habit, they're super cheap here. $20-$50 for shoes over $100 new. Also good for getting watches that won't cost you $150 at fossil. Can be a bit disorganized at times, but if you go during weekdays it's always clean and quiet. read more

Nevertheless, I found what looked like brand new Nikes for $30, several clean pairs (some not so clean) of Chucks, and lots of cute summer dresses. If nothing else, they definitely had more nice (very gently used, trendy, name brand) shoes than I'd seen at the old location. If I could give zero stars I would. All the staff talked about while waiting for my offer on clothes was...DRINKING and alcohol. I went to sell name brand (mostly still had tags and were only a few months old) clothes, and watched the lady from afar only look at the items that were only at the top of my bag. Received a text that my items were ready, and the girl told me that all of my items were for "old ladies" and that I should sell them elsewhere. Majority of my items were crop tops and dresses from forever 21 or Express. Don't think "old ladies" would wear crop tops and mini skirts but ok. It was clear they were just too lazy to even go through all of my items. I went straight to Uptown Cheapskate and they purchased majority of my items and were extremely nice. && just to add, the majority of clothes at this Plato's either had holes or were very worn out where as my items had either never been worn or only worn a couple times. Definitely won't be shopping at Plato's again. They could have at least not told me my style was for "old ladies." Also maybe next time actually go through all of my items instead of just looking at the ones on top rather than going through my whole bag. read more

Been to this location before and really had to search. I went in today and their men's section has definitely improved. A large amount of dress shirts (nice, gently worn, designer brands). Men's jeans had a pretty decent selection, men's T's were lacking but you can't blame the store for what people try to resell. If you're a guy or shopping for one and want cheap prices for nicer clothes, come here. Sales crew is friendly and you don't have to track someone down for service. Went to this Plato's Closet to sell clothes and buy new ones and they told me it would be a 30 minute wait. Got called over within 3 minutes only to be told that my clothes were "too old." I don't know if they were talking about the condition or the style because I bought these clothes a few months ago and barely wore them AND a majority of the selection were from Forever21. Looked in my basket (the container I used to hold my clothes) and it seemed that past the first 2 shirts, all the items were still folded the way I originally folded them (suggesting they weren't looked at or touched). Went over to Uptown Cheapskate and they took in 3 items. Again, Uptown has a waay better selection AND they took some of my items. Plus, that 3 minute wait time rather than the previously told 30 furthers the impression that they don't take time to look at your clothes. read more
