HORRIBLE sell back service! This store doesn't know name brands at all. I went in there to sell them at least a dozen name brand shoes, all in good-perfect condition. They wouldn't take any of them. BUT I see Walmart sandals and dirty, really-used shoes on their shelves to sell!?!? Ladies, if you have really nice stuff you want to sell to a store, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Brought in a bunch of great items, many of them new or hardly ever worn. Lululemon shorts, brand new smiley face slippers still in the package, hardly worn adidas ultra boosts, etc. Moral of the story, they took 4 items and I'm pretty convinced they didn't even look through the entire bin considering the items were stacked the same way in which I brought them. Do not go to these places, places that give you money for your clothes are scams and rip offs. Especially Plato's closet. First of all I brought in a lot of good brands American Eagle forever 21 things like that. And they denied almost all of it. They took about 12 things and offered me around 7 dollars. I also brought in what they were looking for based off their site. Second of all, whenever I said I didn't want to take the cash and wanted my clothes back workers in the back were giggling and staring at me, extremely rude. I know I'm at the only person who had the experience, so the fact that this is happening continuously to multiple people is going to get you guys in trouble one day. I've never had a positive experience at any Plato's and today was no different. I brought in name brands such as Victoria's Secret, Big Star, J. Crew and Polo and they bought nothing. I'm giving up at this point. It's back to school time and if they won't buy my clothes now then I guess they never will. read more

Went in to sell my clothes and they only excepted 7 out of about 50 items. They rejected American Eagle jeans and Nike clothes that didn't have stains or holes and accepted rue 21 shorts and t shirts. On top of taking everything except 7 things back to my car, they were rude and acted like I wasn't even there. I also had to wait 3 hours for them to finally finish going through my clothes that they turned inside out and wadded up. About 5 years ago I would have recommended this place for the helpful workers and excellent prices/quality but it has went down hill and it's nothing like it use to be. read more

I took in clothes to sell. They had all been laundered or dry cleaned. They were carefully folded and sorted. When I returned, the items they rejected were thrown carelessly into boxes and bags. The people were nice enough, but IDK, their lack of regard for the time and cost I put into preparing the clothes will keep me from returning. read more

I personally really like this place and always have a positive experience here. The prices are extremely good in my opinion and the clothing is always in decent shape. I love that they have fitting rooms here, that's a definite plus. Brand variety is okay but I wish that they had more higher end and designer brands. Men's section is kind of small but still has a decent amount. Don't try to sell your clothes here because they will definitely try to rip you off and lowball you but if you are just purchasing clothing than this a pretty good place for cheap name brand clothing. Only other thing is that I hate that they blast country music, play something other like pop or rap. read more

I have actually had a couple positive experiences at Plato's so far! I think a lot of people in these reviews are upset because they didn't do a ton of research before trying to sell their clothes. I try to bring in only stuff I've bought in the last 2-3 years max that I'm just not wearing anymore. If you bring in anything that is too old the buyers can't take it in because they're required to buy things that were made more recently so they can sell it! If you're wondering how old your clothes are, you. can always check inside tags for dates and style numbers. You can also always watch different Plato's closet accounts on tiktok who record their buying process to give you an insight into what might sell or what might not. I've sold at plato's twice and both times they've bought nearly every item I brought in and gave me over $100 for it both times. The employees were also super nice and had my clothes ready for me earlier than expected. These days selling clothes on poshmark and depop can be exhausting, time consuming , and usually result in low profits as well so I really recommend Plato's for the fast cash! read more

This place is TERRIBLE. Don't waste your time here. I went back for the first time in 2 years (last experience sucked too). The staff all look like slobs, they're rude, and the customer service is pathetic. A group of 5 girls behind the counter ignored me when I was obviously ready to check out. Ridiculous. Also, tried to sell two bags of really nice clothing and got $45 and a massive pile of wadded up clothes in return. I complained (politely) about my clothes being waded up and wrinkled and was told "well we have a lot we have to go through here." This is a pretty decent place to shop. Good selection of clothes and I like the way they group clothing by color. Good prices too. Only drawback was they have country music blaring SO LOUD that you feel like you are in a Bar or something!! You can't even concentrate to shop !! I would have stayed longer and shopped but I had to get out of there before I lost my mind! I told the clerk about it and she sorta acted pissy with me. First, the ladies don't seem very sincere when greeting you or checking out, they are very rude.. second everything is juat bunched together it makes it very difficult to even get something off the rack and they don't have baskets, you can hold them up front but I like to set a limit and it makes it hard to know what I'm at. To top it off I went in with name brand clithing, no stains no holes, Hollister,579, wet seal all the brands they supposedly buy, I got nothing after waiting for 2 hours. I've been here more than a few times and each time it's increasingly more disappointing. The product sold is mediocre, yet my offers to sell are above par and get rejected. Today was the final straw as I was given dirty looks by some teenage attendant as I walked in the door, I was told the wait would be 2 hours and then after noticing my basket hadn't been touched and all clothing was still in the order I handed it to them I was told it smelled too much of smoke and could not be bought... I don't smoke. I let them know I don't smoke and was then told I could wash them and bring them back. No thanks, I'd rather donate them than to come back to such a judgemental (and wrongfully so) establishment. One less customer. read more

I sold 20 items, and only received 67 bucks... to me, that is a complete ripoff and I think they're a waste of time. If you think about it, that's 3 dollars per item, especially since I only wore them no more than one time in my life. So my review is, they suck. read more

I have shopped this store numerous times. I have always found great bargains for my 14 year old. Check out does take some time but they can only staff according to sales projections. To add additional staff to speed up checking out would require higher prices. I am willing to wait a reasonable time to keep the prices good. I just cleaned out several closets and gathered clean, hung, NAME BRAND clothing and like new shoes/boots and decided to take them to Plato's Closet before donating and collecting a tax receipt. The kids working there immediately took everything off of the hangers and stuffed them in large trash bags! They told me to return in 3 hours for my offer. The young girl said that she was happy to take 12 items (of probably 200) for a whopping $34.00!!! I then took my 3 huge trash bags of wrinkled rejects back to my car and returned home to re-hang and organize them for donation pickup and a nice tax deduction! I was so disappointed and frustrated...and will NEVER return to that store!! read more

This is one of the worst stores I have ever been in. The sales people are rude. The store is extremely disorganized and messy and also has a bad odor. You also get nothing for the clothes you sell. They'll give you $2 for a shirt and turn around and sell it for $15. The sales associates don't bother to ask if you need help finding anything. They don't have good customer service skills and need to learn a thing or two... I will not go back to this store. I'd rather pay full price for clothes. read more
