I went to Plato's closet today to try to get rid of some of my cloths i hardly ever wear. I did not know you needed an ID to do so. I had a picture of my ID front & back and I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if that would work. I go up to the counter and ask nicely. As the employee tried to help me out another employee yelled from across the store "I told you that you need a real ID". I looked at her and walked away To not cause a scence more than she already did. That employee Ashley was not being professional and being rude the whole time I was there. I am writing as a seller. I brought gently used and even some new clothing to the store. I called ahead of time to learn about their process and what items they were currently accepting. I was told to bring in everything as it is an all-season store. So, I brought in six bags (four were smaller Walmart size bags) with unworn dresses, new leather sandals (it's nearly summer), and a few clean, unstained items I thought would sell well. I was told it would take an hour for them to review my items. That was fine--except I asked them what I should do if it took longer because I needed to be home in an hour and a half when my children got off the bus. They said if I wasn't back to pick up my items before the end of the day the offer for any of them would be gone and they would donate them. They said it was "their system," and they couldn't do anything to get around it. People run systems last I checked, machines are not in charge. When I suggested other options (can I come first thing tomorrow) if they weren't done in an hour, my suggestions were batted down with increasing irritation. I couldn't come back later because of my daughter's baseball game. It was very frustrating and would not have been an issue had it all been explained to me over the phone when I'd called earlier. I chose to gamble, and they did get my items sorted. They chose to take ONE item-- a pair of Old Navy shorts with the tag still on them. I can't prove it was out of spite. I hope not. I like supporting small businesses, but I could read the room and that felt weirdly personal. I suppose that's their right. It's also my right to let people know about my experience so you can make an informed choice. read more

The store is limiting people to only one bag to sell per person, and estimated that it would take about an hour and a half to get through my clothes. It took four hours. When I arrived once they had finished sorting, I stood in line behind one of the registers. When it was my turn, the cashier made a face at me and said "there's actually a line" and pointed to where a woman was standing behind the other register. I would have been happy to stand in line if it was clear where the line was. The cashier's tone was unnecessarily rude and made me feel dumb for not knowing that an aisle of clothes behind a different register was where I should have stood. I will not be shopping here anymore or recommending this Plato's to anyone. read more

I travel just to go shopping here. This store is always organized. They have so much cute stuff

So we wen to Plato's closet and we went to purchase shoes and sunglasses. They told us that the shoes were final sale so we decided not to get the shoes and got the subglasses. They did not tell us that the sunglasses were final sale and we went to kohls and found a nicer pair. So we wanted to go back and return the sunglasses. They told us it's final sale even though they didn't when we were making the purchase. They argued it's on the reciet but what's the point of that when we already made the purchase if we have the receipt, We need to know during the purchase. They also said it on the checkout desk but my wife and I aren't going to look down while making a purchase, so my wife complains about it on the internet and they have the audacity to call my wife a scammer. Like really. It's your fault you should fix it. Would not recommend shopping here read more

I went to Plato's closet with a bag full of clothes ready to sell, I give them my phone number and ID and the worker Avery said that the wait would be about 2 hours and 15 minutes which I didn't mind. I saw all the other bags they had to go through so I tried to understand, she said that they would text me when I could come pick up my money and the items they didn't want. After about 3 hours and no response I started to worry a bit but tried not to, about 6 hours later they text me at 8:18 saying that if I don't come in by the time they close (9:00) then they donate my clothes and I get "store credit" which I came into Plato's closet wanting to sell my clothes and receive money, not store credit. I called at 8:40-8:45 and the person who answered the phone said I could come in in about 12 minute to come pick up my money but if not they will donate my clothes- how was I supposed to come down there that fast and I had to wait all day for them to text me, in conclusion my experience was not good here and the time wasn't even close to 2 hours it was 6- so now they get my clothes because they aren't on top of what bags to go to, I would just say if they tell you a time they might be lying and make you wait all day like I did. read more

I came in with high value items all new with tags if not slightly warn all original brands I came in at 810 and all 3 girls refused to even look at my stuff witch was there loss very rude I had doc martins I mean u name it I had it they jus where being lazy this was on Monday may 1st at 815 and it was more so 812 !!!! read more

Although it's geared to a younger style, I've found several items which I've been very happy with. The only negative about this store is the overpowering scent that's pumped from a wall dispenser. I bought gift cards for my sons today, no shopping, because I needed to get some air! That said, the staff have always been attentive and helpful. read more

I fricken love this Platos Closet! I go to school in Ellensburg, so whenever I am in town I always come here. The staff is so nice, the layout of the store is beautiful. I love the rack at the front of the store with all the trending items. I've sold here too and got like $40. Great place with great sales associates! read more

Complete rip off. All the associates were condescending and they sell fakes and stained clothes. When trying to ask a question the little blonde manager boy was so rude. Don't go unless you enjoy pain. read more
