BasBlue is a magical, gorgeous place! They have renovated a house in Detroit to turn into this…read morewonderful meeting space for all! It is geared towards women and nonbinary individuals and created a safe and supportive environment for them to grow their dreams and aspirations in, but it is open to any and all who want to check it out! Anyone can have access to the main floor of BasBlue, where there is an INCREDIBLE cafe to get delicious drinks and food from. There is also a ton of seating for you to enjoy your food and drink and to cowork from as well. If you want to become a member, the upper floors are open to you with more collaborative and private spaces for you to enjoy! It is a non-profit organization and just a gloriously safe and intentionally-curated space to foster creativity and amazing vibes. I always feel so at peace and centered when I'm at BasBlue and love to take meetings from here as often as I can! It's located very close to the DIA, but only open during the weekdays. So pay attention to their hours and if you're looking for a great place to work from or are interested in learning more about what a membership here could bring, definitely check BasBlue out!!

As a guy, I cannot join. I was here as part of an event and this is based on what I saw and…read moreexperienced. Limited street pay parking, there is a shared lot nearby. This is a very nicely renovated mansion turned into a woman's club. Like a late 1800's gentleman's club, only for women. There is a locker room/workout room/nursing area, but I did not see them because I am not a woman. They have lectures and groups within the club. They have a full kitchen, and the usual food on offer seemed like you would expect at a starbucks or better. They have drinks, coffee, and wine. The wine was higher end. And they use an ordering app so members at different rooms of the club can order easily. Lots of rooms. Dining and lecture rooms, lounge and club type rooms, conference rooms. A large event room. All really nice. There are smaller serving bars on the second and third floors. Depending on age, annual membership is 600 or 1200 dollars. It looked great. Maybe it could have used more restrooms, but that is sort of reaching for something negative to say.

What a great hidden gem!…read more Located in the lower level of the Zen Center is the Raw Food Cafe, which serves up organic & locally grown ingredients into their deeeeelicious raw vegan menu. I know when i hear the words organic & vegan used in the same sentence, i think of healthy food that's rather bland. However, the Living Zen Organics is anything but bland & boring. Their food is savory, scrumptious, and actually good for you! I've been here twice (went about 2.5 years ago and just last month) and i'm just in awe of how they make vegetables & grains so tastyyyy! Love the food here! I've tried their hummus, chipotle/garlic pumpkin seeds, kale salad (i don't know what they add to it but it's AMAZING!), quinoa dish, pho bowl (which came in a bowl the size a pot, awesomness!!!), soups, flax seed avocado sandwich, raw Mayan brownie sundae, and their soy milkshake with toasted shavings of coconut is UNBEEEELIEVABLE!!! That being said, you've gotta try this place! Their menu changes weekly, they're only open like two days a week and Saturdays they do all raw foods, which i went to last month & it was amazing!!! Raw Food Cafe's location is equally charming! You ring the door bell at the side wooden door, then someone comes up to open the door, you then go downstairs, enter through another small wooden door, and voila you're in!!! FYI: Seating is limited, they have about 6 seating tables and 4 other tables up on the raised platform for the more adventurous patrons who want to sit on pillows and eat : )

Sign outside gives incorrect information about their cafe hours and they were offended when I was confused about the availability of fresh food items.
