Attractions are always closed or limited because everything is in disrepair. I can't remember the last time the VR was open. Laser tag only allows a handful of players because the vests are broken. The facility is vastly understaffed. The staff don't monitor and keep the bigger kids out of the under 40" areas, so if you have a little one, keep an eye on them. The staff don't care, and it shows. I would entertain a new membership if management could get it back to it's original glory.

It's a great way for the little ones to explore and expend some energy while meeting & playing with other kiddos. Terra Play Center is located in Lake Nona, and while it's quite a drive from me, this is by far my favorite play center so far! You do need to book a reservation online in advance because the time slots do sell out everyday, and they do not accept walk-ins if they are at capacity. I love that you can book 2 hours for $20 which is a great deal and the perfect amount of play time. Entry includes up to 3 caregiver passes at no extra charge. Adults are required to wear socks at all times and kids must wear the grippy Terra Play Socks ($3.99). Once you purchase them the first time, you can continue to wear them for future visits. Upon walking in, I was amazed by the sheer size of the play area and it's beautiful unique design. My son was just in awe. They have so many little nooks to explore, including a dedicated area for crawlers which we really appreciated during our first visit as my son was not quite walking yet. It was also not overly crowded which was a relief. He loved the climbing blocks, swing, ball pits, and trampolines. I was most impressed by how clean and well maintained the facility was. You will see staff continuously cleaning and wiping down surfaces the entire time that you are there. I even watched them remove every single ball from the ball pit in between play sessions to wash & sanitize. I know that germs can be a big concern for many parents when it comes to these play places, but seeing this definitely gave me peace of mind. They also have a stunning cafe area to order coffee & snacks, as well as seating to either relax or get some work done (where you can still keep an eye on your kiddos while they play). The space is large enough to have a great time but not sooooo big that you feel exhausted trying to keep up. There are: - Reading nooks throughout with beautiful books for baby to child - discovery centers with busy boards and even a wind tunnel - construction zone - auto-body shop - play kitchen - baby doll nursery - cafe and market - a vet clinic - a huge soft slide to climb and play on (and under!) Check-In & Pricing The check-in process is straightforward, but I highly recommend completing the waiver online before you go--it makes the entry much faster, especially when it's busy. Pricing, however, is on the steep side. Admission was the same almost $20 for my 15-month-old as for older kids, even though they barely used the equipment, including the toddler area. There are also attempts to upsell you on crane games and ride-on motorcycle machines, which adds to the feeling that the outing can get pricey fast. They sell food and drinks inside and prohibit outside food or beverages, which further pushes you toward additional purchases. Crowds & Atmosphere We visited on a Monday morning during a school holiday, and it was fairly busy. We stayed almost four hours just to feel like we were getting our money's worth. The temperature inside was surprisingly cold--uncomfortably so--and the disco room was not only freezing but also extremely loud. Cleanliness & Safety For the most part, the facility was clean. At one point a child had an accident in the play structure, and staff cleaned it up quickly--though unfortunately, our friends stepped in it before it was noticed. The bathrooms were clean early on but developed a noticeable urine smell as the day went on. In the baby area, someone had eaten Doritos in the ball pit, and my toddler kept finding orange crumbs, which was pretty gross. Safety-wise, some of the climbing structures need attention. The tower had open holes that felt unsafe, especially for smaller or less coordinated kids. Supervision & Environment Most parents seemed attentive, but a noticeable handful were either working on laptops or absorbed in their phones, leaving their kids to roam unattended. This isn't fully the facility's fault, but it does affect the overall atmosphere and safety - especially for smaller children. Food Policy The food available for purchase is mostly junk food--chips, Takis, sugary applesauce pouches, etc. Because outside food isn't allowed, we had to step outside so our kids could have healthier snacks. Unfortunately, the immediate outside area isn't in the nicest neighborhood, and there's nowhere to sit. At the very least, a bench outside would be a thoughtful addition for families trying to accommodate dietary needs or simply avoid feeding their kids junk. Overall Kids Empire offers a large, engaging indoor playground that kids enjoy, and it's reasonably clean. But the high price, upselling, cold environment, safety concerns in some structures, and restrictive food policy make it far from perfect.
