Nice and friendly staff. We found some great new and used pieces for our home gym at good prices. The lady at the counter was very helpful with providing tools to disassemble a bench and they helped us load our car. I wish they had a bit more inventory but we will keep checking in. I had a really disappointing experience in the Castle Rock play it again sports store. I brought in a pair of baseball pants that I purchased from them last season (spring) to see if they had a larger size because my son liked them so much. I didn't see the same pair so just asked if i could get an in-store credit. They explained they do not take pin striped baseball pants and I said well that's interesting since I purchased these a few months ago at this store and you have a pin striped pair hanging on your rack. They hurriedly removed them After I pointed out the disconnect. The young lady insinuated that I was lying as to having purchased them there and extremely rude to which I told her she should remember who her customers are. I used to tell everyone about this store but not moving forward. I will gladly bring my business down to the springs or another franchise after the way I was treated today. read more

No complaints here. I thoroughly loved this place. I am not super jock so I hate spending major cash on sporting goods, so places like play it again rock. Gently used (and some new) items on the cheap. Score! This place was so much bigger than expected! Nice inventory of all types of used sporting goods. Staff is super helpful and will check stock for you over phone it they aren't too busy at counter. Store has been remodeled and now shows like a slick retail outlet (e.g. Dick's), but prices are still super inexpensive. Might be just me, but stuff seems less expensive here than at PIAS stores in C. Springs. read more

I contacted these folks about buying my left handed golf clubs through their website. Without any qualifying conversion they said bring them down. I drove the 20 minutes to them, hung out for 10 and drove 20 minutes home with the clubs after they told me they were too old and would not buy them. Oh and they had not shoveled their sidewalk or steps. A real fall hazard. A simple "how old are they?" Would have saved me time and money. Unprofessional! read more

Wow, I expected a tiny hole in the wall place, not the gigantic room that this place is. A wide variety of left and right handed golf clubs (I'm a lefty, so you know I'm trouble). I live in Littleton but the store there (which I guess is out of business now) was always staffed by pretty indifferent folks who mostly ignored me. I was recently in the Castle Rock store and was helped by Tama and Blake and walked away from my experience with a smile on my face. I walked in with my 5 year old who is signed up for his first recreation center inline hockey experience and of course the rec center said we needed to have him decked out in all hockey padding gear but didn't give me a list of what was needed. The two staff members working there, Tama and Blake, only needed to hear my plea of help and they jumped in and cheerfully helped us. My 5 year old was so excited to be getting fitted for everything and I was so grateful that I had people helping him not only in a friendly/excited manner but in a very knowledgeable manner as well. If left to my own devices, I know I would have gotten the wrong things and what I did get would have not fit correctly. We walked out of the store in a pretty fast manner with all of our gear from Helmet to hockey stick and everything in between (except the skates we already had) and though I wasn't happy about the price tag (not because of the store's prices but because it is a 5 year old :)) I was very happy about the money and time saved!! I was also very impressed at how both Tama and Blake took extra care in finding items that worked/fit. As you probably know a 5 year old was not the easiest to fit and I was impressed by their thoughtfulness of how to make the helmet that fit in all aspects but one - end up fitting. My husband (the sports lead in our family but person who also had to work so I had to take the kiddo) was also very impressed by the gear, how it fit and the cost savings! Many thanks to Tama and Blake for their friendly smiles and helpfulness and many thanks to the new ownership as well. When I emailed Hillary Mantelli, the new owner, to tell her how great her staff was, she rapidly responded with a thanks of her own back to me and also let me know that she shared my email with Blake and Tama personally and also posted it up in their cash wrap area for all of the staff to see! My family and I will certainly be lifelong (with many more trips I am sure for us with 8 year old and 5 year old boys) customers because of this experience!!! read more

Last week I had a fantastic experience at play it again sports. The store looks fantastic and everything is really renewed and refreshed and much more customer friendly. I was able to not only save myself a trip to Park Meadows for basketball socks and pull-up bars for my kids but also trade in a ton of old/used but in decent condition sports equipment and my kids got some extra spending money which they were psyched about. It's real simple, exercise and sports equipment is pricey in the retail market and shopping Craig's can be a bit shady. Play it Again Sports is the best option for soft-used goods AND it helps to a support a small business on the community. Not all locations are made equal, however. The Castle Rock location is professionally run with a lot of really nice people. It is stocked full of options that will fit many tastes and I would recommend this location to anyone. I just had a very unpleasant and highly unprofessional experience with this store. On Wednesday I called this store twice to see if they carried an item. The phone was never answered. Today, I received an opt-out marketing JUNK text message from them. To unsubscribe, I had to text opt-out. I did not sign up for anything, I did not agee to anything - I merely called the store. This is an egregious violation of customers data and trust. I will be making a complaint on other media and likely the BBB. read more

Went to trade my sons bike in and was told it needed a repair to the rear brake before they would sell it. A month went by and I called twice to see if my son's bike was sold(I was told I had to call to find out if the bike was sold, because they do not have the time to call customers). The first time I called, I was told it had not sold and was also told it was repaired and outside of their store for sale. The 2nd time, I called and spoke to the owner and she put me on hold 2 times and told me that it had not been sold and that the bike couldn't be repaired and was never put outside to be sold and it wasn't worth fixing. Not only was I lied to, but no one even had the deceny to call and let me know. I got nothing but excuses and pathetic apologies. The bike is actually worse off then when I dropped it off...someone tried to adjust or repair it and we now have a missing spring that controls the rear brake(which was on the bike when we took it in...only way the spring would be gone is if the rear break was taken apart, which we never did). Will NEVER go here again. read more
